First of all, many Catiff get adopted into clans, among their ranks thin bloods as well. Hell thin bloods were even sought out for a point because of their ability to somehow craft disciplines on the fly. And I myself did something like this is a massive IRC game back in the day. Guns in VtM are pretty fucking balanced considering they use different stats than melee and require different soaks. I dun really get why you would make guns so strong you need to make them that limited.

Not really, since every encounter was basically a kung fu melee fest and guns just made it easier to get through.

It sounds like hand-to-hand melee is the main focus of this game's combat with using your powers on top of that to compliment, weapons will probably just serve to make encounters easier or faster to get through. It seems like devs really want players to focus on their vampire powers and primal strength/abilities.

It's literally just one of the vampire paths you take aat the beginning of the game before you choose a clan.

The first tree you can choose is the mist ability, the second tree you can choose is the telekinesis ability, and third tree you can choose is the vampire glide ability. Sounds like you only get one of the three and mainly serve for exploration purposes.

A five point system doesn't work particularly well when comparing vampires of varying strength. It's really awkward gauging challenges and difficulty when your skills can be functionally boiled down to "okay, good, great, fantastic, god". Not to mention the xp system that VTM uses means you're typically going to bank fuckloads of points and as a result sort of struggle ahead with no real character development outside of roleplay stuff. And then dump your points into something specific when it shows up in your game.

VtM:B was a product of the time when the left wing hadn't completely lost the plot yet.

You can grab it on moddb. Download and run the .exe, point it to the game folder (it will assume the wrong location, you have to point it there) and choose the basic or plus (I recommend basic for first few playthroughs).
You then have to run the game from a shortcut or add:
-game Unofficial_Patch
to the launch options through Steam or else Steam will run the unpatched version.
