Nero's gonna get devil breakers that have 4 modes that you can switch between using the D-pad and the break-age ability will depend on the last selected mode, the devil breakers will be:
-One that transforms into 4 different weapons (think prototype but mechanical).
-One that controls time by slowing enemies,increasing your flow of time (speed boost), stop time completely (for 1 enemy) and one that puts a "time shield" around you temporarily that when hit reverses the enemies time back to before they hit you.

He intentionally chooses immortality as a vampire with the crimson stone because he felt that by being immortal, he would curse god. I have a theory but ut's hardly sustained by anything but wishful thinking.

V comments how the place he's in slowly heals his body, which was badly falling apart at that point.

I would assume it was some sort of recovery dimension. Either it's where demons go after they were killed (because where else would hell dwellers go?) or it's a pocker dimension specifically made by Malphas, so that servants of Urizen could recover. But this latter part seems a bit weak since Goliath was in this for himself, not because he served Urizen.

pro-tip, bring the first three cainas to the first fury, and then QUAD S that shit with back+attack, fucks up the fury quite well if it hits and you get to real impact him afterwards. Do the second fight however you feel like, then skip through the level by jumping up to each statue outcrop with cavalier back+attack in the air and some trickster stuff. 4 attacks will give you enough height from the first outcrop to the second and third, then deal with the bats and the third fight. if you played your cards right you should have enough style to safely get S if you beat it without dying.

He starts as a spell caster, switching between ranged elemental attacks and generating a debuff field.
Half way through his health bar he goes physical.
His punches are brutal and fast and he occasionally creates an energy sword to do sword moves similar to Vergil's/Nero's/Dante's.
At a quarter health he may summon briefly summon some demons for a quick attack and then dismiss them.

In theory you should be right but the way they described how annoying it was to develop him and how they didn't know where to take his personality, seems to imply V is more like a representation of Vergil rather than actually him, if that makes any sense. That is to say, he represents /things/ about Vergil. There shouldn't have been any issues if he's just Vergil in a twink suit. But that's not what ended up happening. Either that or you are right, and they just added these little gap moe quirks (like ) without thinking of how it'd affect Vergil's established character.

V is half of Vergil. Urizen is the other half. This idea that only V is Vergil and that Urizen doesn't have any of Vergil's memories or personality is completely baseless and contradicts what the game shows and tells us.

Urizen not having all memories is canon and explained though. When Dante reminisces about their past Urizen flat out states he has no memory of their childhood home or the story Dante told.

It gets really iffy once Aria of Sorrow/SOTN comes around. But for the most part, the DMC characters can beat Dracula and any demon they throw out. Julius would be a pretty big threat to the Sparda boys if he’s at his prime, and at his stagec can hold his own. Soma would be a threat. Alucard has only gotten stronger too. It can go either way, but I’d give it to the Sparda boys only until Chaos enters the fray. But for the most part, dead even as of Dawn of Sorrow.

DMD is such a tedious nightmare that is been lowering my enjoyment a lot, especially the parts as V.
Having to fight bosses as V on DMD just really shows the flaws of his kit and the lack of damage he has. I enjoyed playing him on SoS and below, but on DMD I just wish I could skip his parts.
Double check also rarely recognized my inputs and does something else instead, adding to my frustration.

There's a difference between not remembering some things and not having any memories at all. I don't think this idea that Vergil has a split personality or whatever is true, V and Urizen aren't separate parts that currently still exist within Vergil and have always existed within Vergil, they're representations of Vergil manifested by Yamato; when he stabbed himself they came into existence, when they merged they stopped existing. There was no point before that where Urizen manifested, before the Yamato stabbing it was just all Vergil (V and Urizen combined).

In DMC2 and maybe DLC 3 if they go with the prequel history, since the novel didn't released on the west

Royal Guard is completely busted, Dante is fucking invincible if you just take the time to learn each enemy's attack. It's harder in a mob, but against bosses it's especially broken.

Nah, it really is bad and the plot is weak and rather simple.

Most egregiously you have dumb shit like Dante stabbing himself with rebellion and getting his superpowers that way instead of something character-driven or emotional, Nero getting his DT in a phonecall, Vergil immediately wanting to kill Dante again once he is restored instead of having V's development affect him in any way until Nero beats him into submission and he goes "okay no murdering, deal", Dante not being bothered, angry or showing the slightest emotion at Vergil's return.
Also the pacing of all that, a lot of shit is condensed in the last 3 missions.

The longer I dwell on the writing of 5 the more I hate it, they could have made it great.

You should either do the skips like user said, or work on your fury in the void. it's not that bad really, check youtube strats. Basically

That attack string is a little loose, but important. If you don't lock him down with some form of launch or knock away he'll recover. He won't let you just get 10 punches into RI, so you have to work the rising dragon and shit.

Best reason is that all weapons are style scored differently, so you can do like air rave DSD into air race rebellion into air rave sparda for full points. Also, weaker weapons mean enemies stay alive longer for more points as well. Other than that it's mostly the unique moves i guess.
