Tell me where I can play some half decent mahjong online and I'll say yes.

tenhou

The sega Mahjong network?

Why would those be your first two discards? Is this a software you know that's going to cheat in your favor so that's why you're keeping all the single dragon tiles?

Tenhou with the translation browser addon
Also FFXIV

I fucking love mahjong
Tenhou is probably your best bet unless you want to play against AI

Because I'm garbage at the game and I really like fishing for dragon pons

Why does she have 15 tiles
Is it because she's a baka (idiot)

Okay but why did you discard 4 Pin, 4 Man and 7 Bamboo over 1 Bamboo or single Wind? You're literally throwing all your most flexible tiles away, chasing a meme dragon hand or chantaiyo. Please don't do this.

user I just said I'm garbage
I picked up the game like two days ago

>not a single dragon pair
ok. why dont discard the north wind or 5-sou then?

Oh actually I think I was fishing for a rising sun at first, not because it was practical but because I really just want to see one happen

You watched Akagi, didn't you?

how do i fuckin learn the yaku

legend of koizumi

Only play it IRL these days. Dont even care about the game itself much at this point, i just enjoy the bantz

My 70 year old mom plays this with her old lady friends

focus on easy ones like yakuhai, pinfu, tanyo, first, then go stuff like ittsuu, iipeikou,...

Yea Forums tenhou room when?

he trusts his instincts and tricks the other players he's a pro

Its super weird how there is this weird mahjong community of people aged 60+ in Europe, apparently because mahjong had a short-lived explosion of popularity in the 70's (or was it the 60's?)

Thanks, I need to check that one out.

Playing it irl is fucking hilarious. I'm tempted to buy an automatic table just to get more games in with my buds.

Yes, I'm a resident mahjong poster in the /jp/ thread, but I wish it would move to Yea Forums or /tg/ so that I don't have to feel inferior for being an EOP who's just there because he likes the game.

Automatic tables are just so fucking cool, I really hope I can get one someday. Other than shipping from Japan, a basic one would only cost about as much as a new current gen console per person if you've got a 4 man group.

Apparently Amos is looking into doing western distribution this year so maybe it'll happen without having to pay like $800 in shipping

started learning rules some weeks ago because i thought it looks like a cooler poker.

I tried to get into it a little over a year ago but didn't have the motivation to keep learning and practicing

>No Kan and yet 15 tiles.
>Calling a tsumo.
How is this hand even valid? Even if Kan was called it's impossible to win because you either have a floating 8, a floating 2, or no doubles.

It was apparently big in burgerland in the 20s, some literal jew brought it into the country and oversimplified it

That version of the game still exists as "american mahjong," the score cards are proprietary and change every year and you have to buy them for $8
I'm not making this up

Cirno is dumb, it's a joke image

I learned the basics for that 100% CP on Yakuza.
But other than that, not really.

>the almost most obscure rule set among all the different variants
>IRL Pay2Play

why are burgers ok with this.

People already mentioned Tenhou, which is the best client. Sega-MJ is fun, but hanchan games are only available during certain hours. (Unless you make your own lobby.)

YOU JUST ILLEGALLY REPRODUCED IT
HOPE YOU ROT FUCKER

What if I want a nice offline mahjong. Android if possible.

Kemono Mahjong is the best offline android client, so hopefully you don't mind furries

VirtualTenho-G

Is a port of the oft-recommended single-player flash game (gamedesign.jp/flash/mahjong/mahjong_e.html). Though, I think I remember it draining battery a bit.

You can play Sega-MJ against bots in East-only and Sanma (3-player) in offline mode.
