The most notable thing about it was the censorship.
From what I understand the gameplay is genuinely good if you like SMT games, but the combat animations are annoying. It has attacks that chain off of each other with separate, unskippable animations.

Every Fire Emblem crossover has always end up being shit and there're faggots out there who seriously ask this game to be ported to Switch. I don't even want a crossover with Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy at this point.

As someone who platinummed 5 and did everything in #TMS except hard mode Medeus and the last couple tiers of the arena: It was a comparable level of experience hat had the respect for its players to not drag on.
Wether a game is too long due to its plot is mostly subjective, but there's nothing subjective about the fact that watching 1 minute of people waltzing around and posing for the camera in every single battle is the worst thing ever.

It is a legitimately good game. It is not the best ATLUS product, it's not their worse either. It has very weak plot and characters, but makes it up with graphics, gameplay and music.

That IS the discussion. Both games waste the player's time. The difference is that P5 wastes it with story, which some might like, while TMS wastes it by being a repetitive bore in combat.

There are reasons to like it but altogether it's not an amazing game.
If you do play it, play it in CEMU with the restoration mod to remove the censorship.
It's fun, good music and the spin of the SMT combat is satisfying as usual. The plot can be comfy slice of life
Both are extremely boring, with Itsuki's main personality traits being "dense hero", "tagging along with no urgency to anything" and "just ending every dialogue with 'we can do it' or some shit", while Tsubasa's are "acting flustered to everything", "being borderline retarded" and "saying things wrong when she's nervous". And everyone around them acts like they're the second coming of Jesus Christ for some reason.
What really disconnected me from the game and how I knew I wasn't going to like the characters or the plot was the moment when, at the beginning of the game, the two main characters use their Performa to free Chrom and Nephenee and then have a magical girl-esque transformation scene.
Where moments prior they were pushed into a corner and had no idea how to fight the phantom creatures attacking them, they suddenly knew the lines to say and the moves to make to adopt magical Fire Emblem armor and use Fire Emblem stands to defend themselves.
I get it, it's a dumb "turn your brain off" anime moment, but it was enough to make me realize that the game's writing has nothing of value.
It's so funny to me that someone thought this was a good idea, and other people actually agreed. Like this is really the best Atlus and IS had to offer for a struggling Wii-U? At this point I truly do believe that IS are hacks, who got lucky with Awakening's popularity due to the 3DS' weak library at the time.
