The chao design is absolutely brilliant
>The baby blue signifies innocence and permeability as well as resembling water
>Their heads resemble a water drop
>Since water can take on many forms so can the chaos by being different colors, and taking on the animal parts as well as evolving into hero and dark chaos.
>They are literally named after the main villain of the game but pronounced differently
>They are CUTE. CUTE!!!!
ITT character designs you think are great and why

>simple and easy to remember and draw
peak character design here
iconic isn't a shouldn't be a reason for why a design is great.
Pretty much the same for pick related minus the expressive eyes.
I think the plural of Chao is Chao, just like how the plural of Pokemon is Pokemon.
>ABLOO ALBOO
>OOH OOH
>ABUMBELEH
>YAWWWN
>OPT OH. MMM MMM. OPT OH. DAH.
it hurts bros
Maybe not, but it can be usefull to see what designs are really great overtime
Look at this cool ass bird.
It knows it isn't the best Pokémon.
But Xatu doesn't care.
Its too busy being content with being one dope ass bird.
Gen 5 gave it and its two tailed psychic cat dog thing one of the best abilities in the whole game.
Over all.
Dope.
>Vulnerable.
I always thought Meta Knight's design was pretty underrated. Everything in Kirby, save for some of the villains, looks like a Fisher Price toy so to have this guy land in the sweet spot of "cool, but cute enough to fit in the aesthetic" is neat.
And with all the characters they've introduced by now, he's not even that edgy either. He's just a masked borb with a sword.
I really like this version of Adol. A lot.
The armor has a reasonable amount of bulk and form, especially considering how downplayed armor is in anime-esque games. He's lean without being a K-pop twig. The scarf is always a nice touch, and even though he has two belts, it doesn't come off and dumb.
I'm having a hard time really breaking everything down, but this is peak Adol.

That's generic as fuck. Anime template #12334. Nothing really good about this design sorry bro

Why does it hurt? Lol
Not him, but I don't trust sega to give us another fucking chao garden
No worries. As a player you get attached to characters you play, especially if they're silent. So characters that would be regarded as generic otherwise become the best thing. See: Mario.
Fags will call me an "Edgelord" for this
>The way the Red has a paint effect on the rest of the Fur making it look drawn on
>The way how he was designed by Gerald based off the mural in hidden place from S3K
>The rings which add a different color the Black/Red/White
Only holds up in the original pixel art desu
NINTENDO. HIRE THIS MAN.
I wish he was playable in smash. It hurts
>Penis thumbs
For as much as I don’t care for Shadow and prefer Metal Sonic, I gotta say they did a good job with his design.
R-9a Arrowhead
Simple, yet distinct.
Not too much greeble even in later versions of the ship.
The bright cockpit draws a lot of attention in a good way.
Good stuff.
I don't care if the Force Pod would block the pilot's view.
This is my choice too. Such a simple, yet great design. Depends on the games, but sometimes he's more cool looking or more cute looking. I can't say the same thing about his 'Act Zero' design, it's horrible. Thankfully, they only used it for one game.
Always loved his design too. Kind of like Bomberman, cute and cool at the same time.
