Is every single WoW character canon?
Is every single WoW character canon?
Yeah, in the story they're champions of each factions, sort of like established heros
remember when wow had all those skills
No. At the end of legion when you go to syphilis and absorb sargayras swords power into your artifact, there were npcs from the other class halls holding their class artifacts. So it's reasonable that in lore they'd be holding your classes weapon instead.
and you never used more than half of them?
Sadly no, I still used like 5 max because most were useless. LMAO enjoy your frostbolt duuud
WoW itself is not canon, canon ended with W3.
Early on in the game's life, you could feasibly say so. Every completed quest could canonically be attributed to any rando player character adventurer. Later on though when the player character gets treated as the fucking chosen one and is commander of a draenor garrison and leader of an order hall, naw that's not gonna fly.
A good amount of quests could only have one exclusive taker. Also, blood elves were on their last legs after WC3, but mmo populations would convince you oitherwise.
Ah yes. Archdruid cheezeburger. Can’t get more canon than that
It was comfy. It rewarded you for knowing what you were doing and in general variety in party compositions.
This. Also the lore went to shit during Cataclysm. They no longer could use actually beloved characters from w3 and had to make up some china-tier villain.
Only if you're an absolute shitter. Even different ranks of spells had their strategic uses back in the day.
>Blood elves
>Undead elves
>Void elves
>Kael'thas elves
Somehow an almost extinct race managed to create all of these huge factions
No, only some, I would guess that one of each class/spec/race combo is cannon, based on how the books say "champions" and "heroes" and how the books treat the efforts of the players.
Yes. You play the role of a "Champion" of your faction, the Argent Dawn, etc. Your character's name is not canon, but your feats are.
Yes but that's because your character fills that role. You don't know the other champions personally, they are just people. You are simply living through the champions eyes.
Imagine defending WoW's pruning.
remember when shamans could tank
it's lame though, a featureless blob "the champion" doing things
remember when classes were actually different from each other?
did you not pvp? if all you used was frostbolt i'd be pounding your pve carebear ass all night
It wasn't about using, it was about soul
You’ll never be able to convince me that a Tauren paladin became leader of the knights of the silver band.
The "canon" person is whoever they chose to be the holder of the Ashbringer.
I remember doing some world pvp in redridge with a bunch of rogues on my hunter and we would set up so I would use eagle eye near the flight path so I could tell them when to stealth away for a bit. Its less about the damage of your abilities and making a niche use for them. It made the game feel much more open when you could do things like this.
oh please. go back to a private server an look. it only looked like there were a lot of spells. but all 3 specs of a mage in vanilla combined had as many useful skills as a single spec has now.
including a few different ranks of heals or aoe.
