To gain up your primary score you should use a CRT monitor preferably manufactured before 1997/5 and for the PC-98 games you should preferably have a legitimate PC-98 workstation instead of emulating. I actually prefered EoSD's stage 5 theme to Sakuya's theme for a long time, I always thought it had a nice regal sort of sound to it, really liked the piano. Sakuya's chaotic mess of a theme really grew on me though and I think it works perfectly for her fight.
TD's stage 5 is bland, yeah, but that's probably in part because the stage itself was really bland outside of the midboss. Wouldn't call the song bad, but like the game it comes from it's mostly just kind of there.

Of course, this was also the game that kind of completely homogenized the shot types in general, leading to shottypes feeling less diverse than ever outside of specific gimmicks like Youmu. (something that was only just fixed with HSiFS returning to more traditional shot types.)

The very first standard game had you fight a 5 giant orbs and a boss that was invincible unless you destroyed her orbs.
The second windows game already had you fighting 3 bosses at once, and featured a dynamic fight that changed depending on who you targeted during the fight.
ZUN is always experimenting with new ideas and mechanics.

You forgot that TD brought back spell practice, which was an absolute godsend, and Overdrives were a really fun addition as well that added some replay value to the game.

Rather than getting asshurt over humans dying try to think about the perspective of someone who has no reason to give a damn about them, it's not like anyone here cares about all the fairies who get shot in the games.
Reimu's job is to maintain the peace, she is a human but she is not gonna go full crimson slasher because murdering any youkai who steps out of the line would defeat the purpose of Gensokyo. The spellcard rules allow her to punish youkai with non lethal methods, preserving the peace without spilling blood and risking a chain reaction.

Second, even if Byakuren isn't the best leader her religion still has beliefs who benefit the human race (more than some HUMANS RISE UP shit, that's for sure). The more youkai are devoted to the beliefs better it is in the long run, because it has been show that while youkai are born with a purpose, some don't need to terrorize or kill humans to exist (see: Keine).
Technically humans (as a faction) have the toppest priority due to the faith thing.
False equivalency, Gensokyo has no influence over the real world save for a few people getting spirited away.
Yukari showed on multiple occasions that she tends to prefer peaceful methods when dealing with problems that endanger Gensokyo. Say she stopped sacrificing a few humans, what do you think would happen? The man-eater youkai would turn to the human village instead and their quality of life would drop. It does suck that she does that but if she started prepping humans too much them Gensokyo would lose its purpose as a place to save youkai from extinction. Between an endangered species and a species that is already all over the planet and has no signs of disappearing, it makes sense that she would choose to kill the later. Hell, she is nice enough to only spirit away those who are forgotten so it's not like she is kidnapping people to feed hungry lolis or something.
