Do people not realize Epic is just a western front for the Chinese government?
People think Tencent is just some Chinese game publisher, but its much more insidious than that. They operate a service called WeChat, which is used practically everywhere and by everyone in China to do everything from managing their bank accounts to buying shit online to social media to even pay for shit at a vending machine. They are literally an extension of the Chinese government and all the owners/upper management people are either related to members of the Politburo or powerful political families that operate all the major state-owned mega-conglomerates.
The goal of the Epic launcher isn't some stupid shit like competing with Steam for profit or whatever. The goal is to gather information for the Chinese government.
b-but steam btfo though. we have to be contrarian and say we always hated steam despite there never being anyone who ever asked for a direct competitor to Steam in the decades of its existence, but now that there is one le contrarian board has to support it and make ebin wojaks

People do Ironically, this is the only place i've seen supporting Epic So it has to be shills or contrarians

Tim the CEO of Epic has more shares then tencent does. Chink gov has nothing to gain from the data of people who don't even live in china. You're like a russian scared of Uncle Sam knowing about him hating america. This is all bullshit you pull from your ass because Epic took games away from Steam.

>WeChat
I had to get a goddamn WeChat just to communicate with my favourite "masseuse". I'm probably due for a Weibo next.
It's a goddamn Pax Sinica up in here we're gravitating towards.

People believe a lot of stuff. Our government here views Tencent as a branch of the Chinese government and you can't use any products or services related to them if you security clearance is of a certain level even. Goes without saying that the government uses nothing related to them.

I am not American so I have no hate for China. My country will be fine as always.
