what the fuck up with gothic 1's controls
it's called pleb-filter
It actually becomes intuitive after you use it for a while, it's just nonstandard. It was designed for keyboard-only and meant to use as few keys as possible.
They had too much ambitions, many things that they planned didn't make it through. This includes console port, which is the reason for the weird controls.
When Gothic came out there wasn't an industry standard, and it's a control scheme that allows you to play with one hand while you jerk with the other.
It's weird but probably one of the most efficient control schemes ever made, props to german engineering
It sometimes feels like they planned it with a N64 controller in mind.
hey hey sseth
Out of all Gothic and Risen games, this one has the better controls.
I liked Risen a lot, finished it a couple of times, but I have to admit the game gets absolutely awful towards the end. The first two chapters are the best fucking thing, then it gets overall worse.
In contrast, ELEX was quite decent and Risen 3 was mediocre, but mediocre all the way through, not any worse at the end.
I dropped risen after I found out that they changed the controls from Gothic 2.
Love the jank and the jank loves you back.
the problem I have with these games is the combat and animations, when you start out it's really unintuitive and frustrating then when you figure it out it's too abusable
Risen? You mean the worst game on Xbox 360?
Deutscher "Humor"
That was the worst case of pleb review i've ever seen, you can spot immediatly people that didn't grew up with PC games
Blubbern :DD

Not even once
I love the trilogy, but I can't get myself to the fourth game, especial since I heard it doesn't continue plot from the last title.
tit was designed for gamepad, believe it or not.
It somewhat does. It starts right at the end of the last game and goes further into why and how the series ended and gives a glimpse into the future.
It's more or less an extended end to the trilogy.
I enjoyed it and do not regret to have played it.
Played a little bit of it, killed a bunch of wolves for some monks. Should I keep playing?
