this is a pointless challenge. It's like asking someone who has never seen color to pick which they think would be their favorite. You'll never know short of just doing trial and error.

Portal. It's short, mostly slow-paced, mostly peaceful, it's basically one big tutorial. And it's a puzzle game, so it gives a good feeling progressing through it. On top of that, there's the fantastic interaction with portals that would cause intrigue and engagement and sense of wonder.
Being slow at first would allow non-gamers time to get used to first person gameplay.
