Street Fighter VI Hopes and Speculations

Now that Capcom is back on the track thanks to his last games,
now it's their moment that they go back to fighting games, starting from a New Street Fighter and end that shit-fuck call Street Fighter V.
It's time for some Street Fighter VI.
They should put back old good characters, and create some new, insert Arcade from the start and stop with scamming season pass.
What's your opinion?

I want them to go back to updating the game and releasing new characters all at once once per year. A competitive meta shouldn't change more than once per year.

we're still a good 2-3 years away SF6, there wont be another current gen game but what I want to see is

1) a new artstyle
2) the game takes place in modern day
3) the entire cast is newcomers but Ryu, Ken, Chun and Akuma who are all old.

>3)
No

I'm fairly new the to whole fighting game scene thing and have started watching some street fighter streams with the big tourneys. But I have seen a lot of people bashing this game for whatever reason, what's wrong with it exactly? I did watch some older youtube videos of past big tourneys with street fighter 4 and im not sure what they differences are they make people seem to hate it so much

Its an alright game now, at launch the servers were fucked, lobbies didnt work, no arcade mode made casual fans pissed off, so it became easy to hate and meme on

>casual fighting game "fan" who only plays arcade mode
for what purpose? i literally can not comprehend these people's motives. how is fighting against input reading rng fun?

People don’t like that it doesn’t play exactly like SF4/the netcode is extremely inconsistent

The game isn’t bad, but could be better

SF4 is geared more toward defense and has higher execution combos for autists

SF5 is geared more toward rushdown and anime-fighter braindead tactics because it was designed by a Guilty Gear player

Neither are bad but people don’t like 5 because 4 was the first fighting game a lot f people took seriously

The game was incomplete on release which I never gave it another chance.

Get rid of the goofy ass artstyle

Better netcode and more content at launch. Let the rest of the old 2d characters make their transition to 3d. Keep some of the cool V characters like Rashid, Menat, Zeku, and G. Add a few more cross over characters with existing Capcom properties. Like adding Rival Schools characters or even finally adding Haggar. Miltiplat with cross platform play.

An actual 2D SF game instead of yet another SF EX sequel with shit controls and horrible, floaty gameplay.

this

The new Guilty Gear will come out long before SF6. Hopefully some of the angry SF4 and bored SF5 players check it out. (They won't).

>Streeta fighta is da only fightan game fo me!

I don't like the art style of street fighter 5.

I recently boughtvalot of stock in capcom hoping they would still to classic designs.

what would "classic designs" be for a 3D game that started out as 2D pixel art?

RE Engine realism would be a fresh breath of air for the franchise. That or hand drawn 2D sprites.

i'd rather not see yet another game go for generic photorealism, especially a game as goofy as street fighter with autistic jap men throwing blue fireballs at eachother and screaming the same japanese words whenever they do one of their "special attacks". sf3 looked pretty goofy too.

id like to see them try something new though instead of doing the clay thing again, though I doubt they'd dare to do the clay thing again.

>3) the entire cast is newcomers but Ryu, Ken, Chun and Akuma who are all old.
No one wants to see chun-li who are 45 year old middle age aunt. Sex sells well.

SF has been goofy since it was born. its basically parody of 80/90s kung-fu cinema and anime.

Having faith in Capcom lel. Just play tekken or guilty gear

are the people who want street fighter to "stop being goofy" just low IQ moron kombat fans or tekkeks?

MK for sure. Though possible KoF fans. No one could possibly take Tekken's visuals seriously.

I actually like sfv alot the attacks have more visual and auditory impact and combos don't look like goofy like in mk or Tekken. Then again it reminds me alot of Dota 2 so...

SFV isnt that bad
I just want a little bit longer limbs, and for fireballs across the board to be stronger

>being an SF fan
Reminder MVC died for your abortion of a game series.

So SF3 2.0.

Why do you want to piss off the fans again?

MvC died when Marvel sold off X-men

MvC was killed the moment Marvel Cinematic universe was born and the game went from a fun crossover between two companies with their specific niche fanbases doing a collaboration to a game company creating a promotion for a galaxy-sized corporate conglomerate.

Not having X-Men was the lesser of the problems, they could have added some fun comics characters like they did with the mobile games released during the embargo but they picked just movie shit. Not even talking about the atrocious graphics, audio and story mode that have nothing to do with mutants

I wasn't a super fan of V, but it was leagues better than IV, Capcom might have gotten their shit together for their big AAA titles and given them their old flair back but the only thing they could do to Street Fighter that they aren't already doing is go back to 2D, and all the money they're pumping into 3D artists and teams is going to jack shit for any dreams of a 2D fighter ever coming back, getting a good director to helm an old beloved series and make it sell is easy, going back and bringing back a lost art isn't going to happen, V is the best your going to get unless someone else picks up the name.

Getting rid of Ono would be a great start for a good SFVI

but hes funny, people enjoy his antics

What I hope as to SF6 is not to compromise on being SF. I mean, 09ers are still hating sf5 and can't admit sf4 is a different game to SF5, but what unique is about SF compared to other fighting games, such as tekken, guilty gear, is that it is the series that has been ever changing in terms of game mechanics as a new title comes out to the point where you cannot be easily "adapted" to new one.

SF3 players do not like SF4 just like SF4 players do not like SF5 because both are different in terms of how to represent game mechanics. In that sense, It is always a tradition that SF entirely redefine themselves mechanics in introducing a new main title. SF6 needs to be different compared to SF5, and even SF4.

However, 09ers, who are now most portion of the fanbase in the US would not realize the ever-changing nature of SF, and claim it must return to their most favorite form that is based on SF4's mechanics, such as 1-frame links. But, that's not only against the tradition of SF, but also not a good solution to make fighting game as genre have broader appeal for the mass market in the context of competing with other e-sports titles, which you can never ignore if you are a publisher.

The most bullshit myth as to fighting game is that the harder to make a game, the more fun and deep a game is. Confusing difficulty with creativity or simply having high ceiling is oftenly backed by gatekeeping elitism that has been prevailing in FGC, especially, Capcom games players, but that is a problematic trait that eventurally obscures what truly makes a good game. Actually what makes a good game is that a game has varied options and enough degrees of freedom that you can execute, not such as simplistic execution's difficulty that is performed with commands. They have to come up with a new innovative way to keep having more options but still being inclusive to larger people outside the core fanbase, which is not impposible to do.

>there are people who want street fighter to have a realistic art style

absolute mental illness

haha yeah i don't want to see a 45 year old still a virgin chun li that would be gross ew imagine taking her virginity yuck

Shut up loser

Hating the game is a meme. Dont fall for it. While the game did have a rough launch, it completely turned around.

I'm hoping there next major fighting game isnt Street Foghter at all honestly.

darkstalkers soon

Go back to sprites or go cell shaded. Just use alpha 3's gameplay but improve on it

>HUEHUEHUEHUEHUE HES SO FUNNY BECAUSE HES GAY! KEEP RUINING SF PLEASE!

Bring back execution is all I'm asking. I shouldn't be able to do max damage combos within 10 minutes of learning a new character. Crush counter was also pretty wack. Hit confirming combos from that shouldn't be so easy. It's actually so easy that you shouldn't even call it hit confirming.

The sfv hate train started at the beta. People didn't like how limited some characters were and they noticed that characters like cammy ryu nash and chun could just do whatever and get away with it because of how strong their buttons and options were compared to other characters. These things were ignored, the game released with season 1, those characters were still absurdly above everyone else and to make it worse it a lot of the few fun creative things that was in the beta were neutered or removed. Capcom let it sit for a year to see how the competitive scene grew, but the way things were for that long and with all the input from the beta going to waste, it just made the meta stagnate and cause the initial wave of hate.

Then season 2 happened, and somehow made things worse. Because season 1 was left to stagnate, all those complaints built to a boil and capcom over reacted and absolutely butchered the top characters. They also had to push more dlc to make sales since launch was a failure to meet their standards, and what better way to push dlc than to make almost all of dlc 1 characters absolutely retarded. And to top it off, they decided that long time fans wouldn't want to see fan favorites but rather all newcomers. Needless to say that caused a whole new wave of hate, especially since their was some division on liking the new characters, which for most was hard to do since some were low tier on their release.

Bring parries back but don't work against hadoukens.

Wow, really makes it seem like this game was set to fail right off the bat. So is the game really an different compared to 4? Cause I have seen a lot more love for that game compared to this one at least

>It's time for some Street Fighter VI.
Good luck waiting until 2022

why would you want another souless mortal kombat.

They need to do fix the hands and feet proportions. The only characters that should have limbs that big are Zangief and Abigail.

He's not even head of the fighting game division anymore user

Attached: 1541181356834.jpg (1280x1256, 107K)

He is still the head of fighting game division though

90% of the bullshit that happened with SFV wasn't his fault, you think he wanted to ship an unpolished game?

It still has that unga/shimmy offensive game, jab anti-airs into resets, built-in input lag and some other faults.

>Cause I have seen a lot more love for that game compared to this one at least
People fell in love with 4 during it last two years, everyone used to hate 4 on launch

"Capcom's fighting game personnel changed around fairly recently as the well known Yoshinori Ono has taken on a lesser job title while Ryozo Tsujimoto, best known now as the face (Producer) of Monster Hunter, has taken over. "

eventhubs.com/news/2018/sep/08/yoshinoro-ono-no-longer-head-capcoms-fighting-game-divison-monster-hunters-ryozo-tsjuimoto-has-taken-helm/

MH fighting game when?

Just give it to Itsuno. He was a director and designer for Capcom's fighting game division in its golden age before he was put on DMC2 to save it.

He isn't, he's just the "guy from SF" now. The game direction completely changed after he got demoted

Its the head of the division dealing with any other games besides fighting games, like online games mainly targeted only for Japan. Ono just got relegated from the head of division 2, and he is still the executive producer of SF franchise. He still has the power to decide important things related to SF.

Look at his twitter profile saying "ストリートファイターシリーズの統括プロデューサー"

I hope to see 1 or 2 Rival School characters.

That’s wrong though
SFIV has both stronger defense and offense. It has crazy offense, setplay, but also give players a lot of defensive option to get out or counter attack while also have really hard execution for some characters. If you throw an offensive character in SFIV with his moveset and frame data intact like Yun into SFV, he will shit on the whole cast easily. If anything, SFIV is closer to GG in that aspect than SFV. The difference between defense in SFIV and GG is that SFIV is more preventive and reseting the neutral while GG’s defense is more proactive and stealing turn.

Every sf is different and the jump between 4 and 5 back to back is honestly very jarring. 4 is mostly about os and defensive/offense fail safes with tons of options for a lot of the cast to get in and out of situations and 5 is mostly about relentless pressure centered on baiting and reading but having many more hard commitals and simpler set ups and having ways out and comebacks "earned" through the vtrigger/vreversal

You also have to remember that sfv was notorious for shit netcode and horrible servers, and a more "simplified" neutral. Those things make a terrible combination and instead just create a cluster fuck of mashing which for some reason capcom decided to expand on with s2 instead of properly address and try to fix like they did with s3 and s4.

>fix Juri back to 4's gameplay

Sometimes messing around with characters is fun. That's how I got into fighters in the first place.

Attached: ABS.png (596x604, 429K)

>What's your opinion?
Doesn't matter what any of your opinions are
All the characters in Street Fighter VI will use facial capture since RE2 remake and DMC have been so successful

Yes I too would like a Street Fighter The Movie fighting game sequel

facial capture and face models*

>completely turned around

Attached: Rye-you.jpg (350x350, 69K)

>hopes
They remake USFIV

Perfect

Yes

I hope the next street fighter is called Tekken x Street Fighter and its 3D.

>realism
>in SF

Attached: SFV Juri is ass.png (185x239, 18K)

Reminder that almost no large fighting game company is going to ever use sprites ever again. Not only is 3D "superior" in their eyes, but having sprites means you can't sell costumes, stages, etc. easily.

Even Tekken is goofy though and Mortal Kombat started off campy as hell.

Attached: Megane Mika.jpg (500x782, 66K)

Mortal kombat is at its peak when Its just campy kung fu spiritual murder. Mkx lost the plot by trying to take itself too serious and I think mk11 is sadly going down the same path. Most of the charm kf mk9 was how absurd and self aware the characters were besides johnny.

On the flip side I think games like sf and tekken are at their best when they go full anime bullshit. Akuma and kaz fighting in demon form on a skyscraper? Thats retarded and I love it.

Exactly. I do think MK is getting too serious now, overall.

Fire Woshige. Fire Ono. Don't let the company that did SFV and MvCI make the game. No more roman cancels. No dumb stuff like crush counters. Normals should do more damage and have decent range, so there is a real midrange game again. The attacker shouldn't always be plus on block(most of the time they shouldn't be). Bring back close and far normals.
They don't even need some dumb mechanic, just give us a good footsie based street fighter. With GGPO netcode and something to do for casuals. Bam. Best fighting game ever made. But we are not getting that.

Also get better designers, both for gameplay(Woshige suuuucks) and looks. The newcomers for SFV have garbage designs. Either they are bland or "lmao so funny"

>The newcomers for SFV have garbage designs. Either they are bland or "lmao so funny"
That's something that got inherited from IV, I can't believe Capcom managed to make a luchador cook a bland character. Going forward I only see Menat getting used in future games and crossovers cause like Juri she falls into the "exotic waifu" category

>Actually what makes a good game is that a game has varied options and enough degrees of freedom
That's why people don't like SFV though. Your option is to block and take the throw. It's the most limited SF game, probably even one of the most limited fighting games out right now, in terms of offense and defense. It's so god damn boring.

People had a lot of issues with 4 and wanted a different game than 4. The "we need execution" crowd watched some video and claim it would fix the lack of options.

I don't want a new Street Fighter for a while, there's a lot of unfucking they need to do. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing a complete version of Alpha 3 (as in, with the extra modes and characters from its home releases instead of just having the original arcade roster AGAIN) with online play.

Does it matter? They already know going for passable quality 3d models allows them to churn out costumes and its going to be the only lesson learned for SF6.

Woshige is "battle director" that is not a game designer, so I dont think he directly designed what sf5 was. I think he is just a guy dealing with balancing out about characters.

Yeah I'm tired of medium medium or shimmy the game.

I'd like to see something like Neo Geo Battle Coliseum but with Capcom characters
