Karen, how pathetic do you have to be to choose a Pokemon just because of stats

Karen has a strong team, she clearly likes strong Pokemon. Just get better taste.

Karen, because you can beat any Pokemon with even the shittest Pokemon with no trouble.

>half my team are pokemon I think look cool/cute
>the other three are ones I think are strong

what now bitch

depends on if I am pve or curb stopping kids on smogon.

Attached: badass_.jpg (639x624, 43K)

It's worth pointing out that the Gentlemen says "sometimes" while Karen's ideal is implied to be absolute. I understand what Karen is going for but the Gentlemen sounds more reasonable about what he's saying.

now you get a threesome with karen and the gentleman

hmm the literal who old guy or one of the best trainers in the region. tough pick

Attached: dac29602808e491f10300926ea591ad4.jpg (1112x1800, 286K)

Third way
>Editing your favourite pokemons to give them OP abilities stats and movesets

Example
>loppuny with pure power
>lilligant with drought + solar beam

Karen. Tier lists are for tryhards who need the approval of a bunch of literally whos to function.

gentleman is correct. sucks, but it is how it is

Ooh. Not bad.

pretty much anything works in-game, so Karen is right

objectively speaking though, the old man is right and i'm not talking pokemon

>Elite Four trainer
>A random stooge with one Growlithe or something

One of them is probably giving better advice.

The old guy is trying to improve, Karen is butthurt that she couldn't beat you and calls you a meta abusing faggot.

I generally feel what the gentlemen is saying but that is a good point. She IS in the elite 4.
I've noticed that Karen says "try" to wi

*talking about

Karen is right when it comes to simply beating the game since NPC trainers are idiots, but if you want to play against other human players, fact is that some Pokemon are more viable than others. You can try building a team consisting only of Pokemon that you think are cute, but you're not gonna win.

Karen, while I like learning about stuff from competitive (how Pokemon changed from generation to generation mainly) I much prefer playing casual, Karen's team even reflects this, there are 5 Dark-Types in Gen 2 that she could've gone with but she went with instead a team that she liked more via Vileplume & Gengar. Her team feels much more fitting of her character as a result since Sneasel up to that point is most commonly associated with your rival and Tyranitar is a secret Pokemon as far as the game's concerned.

This. Who's going to decline the wisdom of a professional for some senile old bastard's?

>That football guy that kicked /vp/'s asses with a Honchkrow.

Sheesh; I know Karen said some stupid shit, but calling her a "literally who old guy" is a bit unwarranted

Attached: 1523219667855.jpg (439x392, 30K)

In at least one game the trainers will spam a status move if it's a type that your current mon is weak to.... even if it doesn't actually hit you at all. They'll just sit there and buff themselves without doing anything to stop you from killing them.

Competitively the gentleman is objectively correct, it's literally an objective, mathematical advantage so why even argue about it?

>>truly skilled trainers
>>truly strong trainers
>>>>>>ANOTHER FUCKING STR VS DEX THREAD

>Member of the Elite 4
>some nameless old man
gee, I wonder

assuming they are NPCs in some child's game, that means they both lost, which means both opinions are irrelevant

the correct opinion is the mastery that comes from being 'the player' the person actually making the decisions and having control over the world the contest is taking place in

in other words, knowing things that other people don't know or can't know is the true form of mastery

>make a team out of only pokemon I like
>none of them can use an HM I need

oh

Karen for main story
Gentleman for battle frontier and comp
It's that simple. At the end of the day, pokemon is a game about numbers. No matter how much you love that pokemon of yours, if it has a bad nature or IVs or what have you, it simply isn't going to perform well in a "serious" environment. But for the main story, you can beat that shit no matter what jank you run, so it's OK.

Side note, Karen is really attractive and I'm a bit sad she has like no porn at all.

Attached: 4582977646993499299.jpg (719x1000, 248K)

That "literally who old guy" is a member of the post-game Battle Resort, a place you can only go to if you've beaten the Elite Four. He could literally kick Karen's ass any day of the week.

Attached: 016.jpg (552x331, 23K)

In game, gentleman is right because no matter what you do shit tier pokemon will be shit because of muh numbers.
Lore/story/plot-wise, Karen is right.

autism.

>When a Pokemon is such a shitmon you struggle to use it even in the main game.

Attached: 1455707474254.png (500x545, 260K)

Didnt some guy win a tournament once with a Pachrisu?
Karen seems pretty correct, both in game and out

Ah, that's another good point as well.

God I wish I was him.

nice attempt at deflecting, but autists are min maxers who only care about having the best numbers

Attached: tumblr_o4lt76qu3T1rswl8zo1_r3_1280.jpg (734x950, 101K)

I do wish the Johto Elite Four had stuck to their types, there were a lot of Pokemon that went unused by bosses thanks to Gen 2 for a while when they could've been used. I think using effective Pokemon representation you could have;
Will - Girafarig, Hypno, Exeggutor, Slowking, Xatu
Koga - Weezing, Venomoth, Tentacruel, Ariados, Crobat
Bruno - Primeape, Machamp, Heracross, Poliwrath, Hitmontop
Karen - Murkrow, Sneasel, Umbreon, Houndoom, Tyranitar
Lance - Kingdra, Charizard, Lapras, Steelix, Aerodactyl, Dragonite
Thing to note about Charizard, Lapras, Steelix & Aerodactyl is they can all learn Dragon Breath in Gen 2 and Charizard (through breeding) can learn Outrage.

autism

Autists believe in the "heart of the card" bullshit. They think what they see in the Chinese cartoons is real.

I swear to god Will is the most forgettable fucker on the planet.

pachirisu served a purpose in that meta though(discount amoongus). and the guy(sejun park) said himself he had no affinity for it before he won with it.

found the tierbaby

Listen to the hot dark type waifu babe that any non gay man would fuck over and over again or the retard senile nobody with Alzheimer's?

Karen master race.
Competitive Pokemon that just turns the game into a autism number cruncher is the most soulless shit in video games and completely antithetical to the core message of the series.

Attached: 0eeebd688027a575d89f2118885465fc.jpg (3000x3000, 481K)

Psychic-Type in general is forgettable if you ask me, while there are stand out Pokemon from the type like Reuniclus, Alakazam, Unown, Lunatone & Solrock I usually forget about the type when it comes to getting reps, it doesn't help that a lot of the Psychic-Type Legendaries don't exactly scream "Psychic-Type" like their non-legendary counterparts, Mewtwo is probably the most Psychic-Type looking of the group and even then Fighting-Type also seems like it could be Mewtwo's Type (apt given one of its megas gets that type).

>karenfags

For the main game, Karen is undeniably right. Pokémon games are so piss fucking easy, stats and competitive viability should never be a factor for your in-game team so might as well roll with what you find cute or cool.

Based and Karenpilled. Top tier pokegirl

They're both correct.

God tier IQ user.

I love football now

Karen uses the anime logic, where Pokemon can OHKO types with not effective moves via Trainer screaming
Gentleman uses the game logic, which would carry well into post-game content where just half-assing it in say, the Battle Frontier will get you raped repeatedly

I dearly loved hitmonchan. He was one of the coolest pokemon in gen 1. Even when I tried to use him in blue/red he would get destroyed and I would have to fall back on my other pokemon. I even leveled him up to a higher level than the others but he always got fucked up.

Karen uses the high IQ logic, where in a world in which GameFreak isnt lazy turds and balances their games, all Pokemon arent defined by shitty tiers and VGC shit

Gentlemen is just GameFreak wanking themselves off for making such an unbalanced games and for Smogoniggers to wank themselves off.

Not counting total meme pokemon like Delibird or Unown, I swear Parasect has to be the most useless dead weight pokemon I've ever tried to use. And this is coming from someone finished a run of Ruby where a fucking castform was their MVP on the elite four.

Shit typing, shit stats, shit learnset in all the early/good gens. The only redeeming qualities is has is access to breloom's signature move spore, and a decent enough attack stat to make slash do a dent if it ever survives being one shot.

Attached: 47-Parasect.png (300x273, 54K)

Get good retard. Even a child can use that better in their first playthrough of FRLG

Karen hands down, unless you're a competitive Smogon Autist you can beat the game with your starter alone. Pic related is my favorite mon, he's garbage competitively but I've still used him in every game I can, and I've never had one complaint about his performance.

Also, who are you gonna trust, an Elite Four member, or some old britbong from the worst Remake?

Attached: Slashy Boi.png (600x600, 213K)

Gee i don't know.
An elite four member or a random old fart?

Based high IQ and Karenpilled. You almost make up for all the smogonigger autist pokemon fans out there.

Real life isnt balanced, why should all Pokemon be perfectly balanced?

A Bear has nothing to fear from sheep.A Shark will eat a minnow.

Likewise, there should be Pokemon objectively better than others.

Elaborate

Pokemon isn't real life user.

only autist would put in the extra work to make numbers go up. The rest just plays and moves on.
In fact only an autist like you would even take this topic with any seriousness.

It depends on if you want to WIN, or just 'try' to win.

There's a difference between a hobbyist and a pro.

Was it some showderp thing?

Find me a bear that can use Hyper Beam you retard.

I don't remember the gentleman, is he from the battle maison? If so, Karen. The maison people openly cheat and then mock you when they win

Karen. If anyone tries to argue otherwise, just remember that /vp/ smogon autists got styled on by a chad and his Honchcrow.

based and starterpilled

competitive pokemon has been a hot mess for multiple generations so I don't really care

>I mean yeah maybe now that the game has been fucked beyond belief but come off it nigga
It's obvious most people here don't play competitive, yet are trying to speak as if they know what Pokemon are strong or not. Hence why they call competitive players "Smogonfags", even though VGC is the more popular format. They probably think that one guy who used Pachirisu used him because he was "cute", and not because it had perfect synergy with his team.

based

Attached: what did he mean by this.png (579x596, 95K)

Neither. I don't like Pokeman. It's boring and easy. By the time I played it, I had already played more interesting games.

I know that. Honchkrow has the tools to work as a mixed wall breaker, it's just hard to get in because it's the typical Dark type curse of "Slow, frail mixed attacker". Honchkrow is outclassed by other things but these motherfuckers talk about him as if he's fucking Shuckle or Dunsparce.

Attached: 1546308189268.png (816x624, 397K)

Karen
Its also why VGC is the superior format
2014 we had Wigglytuff and Pachirisu, 2015 we had Clefairy.
Honestly if you can only win with pokemon with high BST instead of using cool unique pokemon and formulating cool and unique EV spreads and movesets to fill in niches and cracks in your team then damn, have fun with your shit vanilla ass copy paste ass 252 spreads LMAO

If you dont make the weak ones work, what is even the point?
Everyone knows which Pokemons are the strongest so they will use it.
Now nobody will expect a obscure Pokemon to be actually strong.

>one is the strongest Elite 4 member
>the other is a literally who boomer who never won shit
Gee I wonder who is right?

Why in the hell did they give Lickitung such atrocious stats?

Attached: untitled.png (300x450, 221K)

has this fucker never heard of misato or what?

Funny how people always use semi-good Pokemon as examples. You listed Clefairy as a "weak mon" even though it has an amazing moveset, abilities, and typing. That sounds more like a strong Pokemon to me. I'd like you see you defend shitmons like Luvdisc and Unown. Your argument falls apart when you have to talk about the shittiest of Pokemon.

Attached: 1508034663725.jpg (750x587, 290K)

based.

>truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites
what if their favorite is some shitter like weedle

>Projecting your own lack of creativity and insight onto others

Attached: IMG_0433.png (917x927, 572K)

In reality, Karen because Pokemon is already super easy. Hell, if it were real I'd still side with Karen for how often "caring about your Pokemon" seems to be the deciding factor in winning.

Better question: what if their favorite IS a strong Pokemon? What if some kid thinks Garchomp looks badass, and wants to use him in competitive because of that? Is he not allowed to? Is his favorite mon "too strong" for him to be allowed to use?

Attached: garchomp_v_3_by_xous54-d36qdhp.png (538x583, 135K)

bunch of assblasted shitters itt

Attached: 1534746787109.png (600x600, 242K)

Lickitung is a weird Pokemon even in Gen 1 it had bad stats (on par with Nidorino, Nidorina & Porygon), Lickilicky doesn't really feel like a step forward either since its Speed is still atrocious, keeping the same vibe of stats but boosting its speed you could have Lickilicky be of a BST Distributions like;
HPP: 110 -> 100
ATK: 85 -> 71
DEF: 95 -> 100
SAT: 80 -> 94
SDE: 95 -> 84
SPD: 50 -> 66
BST: 515 -> 515

Trading off a bit of HP, Attack & S. Defence in favour of Defence, S. Attack & Speed I think would give Lickilicky the help it needs, Lickilicky being able to take a better hit from a Fighting-Type would benefit and higher Special Attack would pair well with giving Lickilicky moves that revolve around its tongue, there really aren't many moves in its moveset that actually relate to the tongue, I'd think a Pokemon related around the Tongue would learn more Water-Type moves and could probably use moves that would otherwise be countered by Soundproof (like Hyper Voice, Echoed Voice & Round).

As far as Abilities go, Own Tempo and Oblivious are fine but they're too similar imo, I think Oblivious is the less fitting of the two so trade it in for the always welcome Thick Fat alternatively giving it the unusual Liquid Voice Ability would be good if you increase its movepool to include more Sound-based moves.

I'm the 10yo kid that steamrolls both.

Neither. Beauty Belinda has the correct answer on what to think about when you're considering a Pokemon team.

>Gym leaders throw tantrums and refuse to give you the badges
>Karen is butthurt that she couldn't beat you and calls you a meta abusing faggot.
Why are Johto's female trainers so shit?

Good poke when equipped with assault vest.

Smogon tried to karenfag and give shit like dustox a place to shine without fearing Kyogre spam.

People often forget you can bring low tiers to a higher one but can't bring a OU Pokémon into NU.
Then there are mixed tier autists who want to have the aesthetically pleasing theme to their autism but cry if you bring something that counters their Pokémon in the same tier as their highest one.

Then we have rol plating tards banning legends bacause it breaks their "immersion" or some shit, truly autistic.

As a VGC player I gotta side with the Gentleman, it's disrespectful to not bring the best you can assemble against someone on a serious competition.

> Why are Johto's female trainers so shit?
Jasmine is the most pure character in the series go fuck yourself user

Attached: remove-genies.jpg (1200x675, 140K)

You forgot that he abused Gothitrap, that shit won several games at team preview.

This is an absurd hypothetical that wouldn't happen in reality. Generally when people think of a favorite mon they usually consist of already evolved ones. For the sake of the argument however, if some one out there really felt that committed to using such a boring mon as opposed to all of the other fantastic beasts out there, then it still doesn't discredit what Karen said. Maybe use it as fodder or you can slap a focus sash on it. Once it survives a hit it can use bug bite or whatever the hell else it can do. It would be very situational and not worth the risk but hey, your hypothetical.
Read Karen's quote again. If a strong mon just so happens to be someone's favorite than Karen is not talking about them.

Speaking of Shuckle and Dunsparce, why the fuck did gen 2 have so many one stage trashmons? Shuckle, Dunsparce, Unknown, Delibird, Corsola, Qwilfish, Stantler, Sudowoodo, Girafarig, Murkrow, etc. Barring the legendaries, Skarmory and maybe Wobuffet if you can read your opponent, none of them are good.

"Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites. I like your style. You understand what's important. Go on — — the Champion is waiting."
???
She does the opposite of what you said

Attached: ca9ab8364781bd3493b8ead5acf58b4e.jpg (1369x1887, 424K)

Those are some pretty good ideas user. Back when Sun and Moon was being speculated on, I thought that the Lickitung line could have had an Alolan form as well to cover some of what you said.

I do hope the Galar Region gives us more Regional Variants, Megas and Regional Variants are currently two really good ways to increase the staying power of older Pokemon outside of giving them a new lease on life via moveset upgrades.

>Read Karen's quote again. If a strong mon just so happens to be someone's favorite than Karen is not talking about them.
Doesn't change the fact that her quote is used by people here to shame others who use strong Pokemon that they like.

How does she know that you didn't just use strong Pokemon to beat her, instead of your favorites?

Attached: 1550644281431.png (285x267, 148K)

Gentleman, because he's a gentleman

>post actual videogame opinions in Yea Forums

>post OFF TOPIC POKESHIT IN Yea Forums
>HURR OK

I will never understand why they didn't do basic variants of the trainer classes in Gen 7, the models and battle models are all 3D now so couldn't you just do basic colour shifts on clothing and skin colour, yeah it doesn't fully fix the 10,000 look-a-like Joey the Youngsters but it'd at least be a step in the right direction.

The old gentlemen speaks the harsh truth, but in a way it's also a signal that Gamefreak's admitting defeat in attempting to balance the Pokemon series. The power creep has gotten so absurd that it seems like they've just given up on trying to make shitmons viable by buffing their stats and instead opt for shit like megas and z-moves just for marketing purposes.

Karen represents what the players want to do in a Pokemon game, Gentleman is just a grim reminder of the reality and an admittance of Gamefreak's incompetence.

Depends on context
If you mean playing in-game then i would say going with your favorites would be more fun
but in context of the pokemon world i think the oldman has a point, people gain and lose money based on winning fights, having a stronger team that can win more would be ideal

Karen is right that you should do this because you enjoy it.

The gentlemen is right because if you enjoy something, you should always strive to improve.

Then it sounds to me like your issue is with the casual elitists rather than Karen's quote. I get it though, elitists whether they're of the casual or competitive variety are pretty obnoxious.

Rei>The Rest of the cute Eva scientists and operators>Shinji>Asuka>Misato

great, ontopic post but if I get a 5 you will die in your sleep.

There's no shame in liking a Pokemon because it's strong, but using a Pokemon you don't like just because it's strong isn't right.

Yeah, I'll go with based post-game grandpa

Attached: 1538951087052.jpg (615x492, 29K)

Gamefreak should remove stealth rock from the game. it's completely ruined the meta and screwed over so many innocent pokemon

Attached: 1551769960576.png (1001x761, 1.1M)

honestly this. Stealth Rock is stupid strong for what it is and invalidates like 90% of the roster. I do think trap setups like Spikes and Toxic Spikes have their place, but Stealth Rock is just too damn effective.

Both are wrong but Karen is more wrong.

1) Pokemon is a kiddieshit imbalanced game that should not be taken seriously. Therefore, just pick your favorites.

2) Picking your favorites is not truly skilled, nor is it "trying to win". It does take skill to win despite giving your opponent a huge advantage, but then how can you suggest you were sincerely trying?
Shooting yourself in the foot before a race, whether you win or lose, is an insult to everyone trying honestly and earnestly. In this case it's deserved because they are playing Pokemon competitively, but it's the principle of the thing.

Attached: 110___weezing_by_petah55_dd1ukor-fullview.jpg (600x600, 80K)

Stealth Rock should be nerfed and other variants should be added, if you remove Stealth Rock's monopoly then you can even out the playing field, the other thing is to buff Rapid Spin.

>Pokemon is a kiddieshit imbalanced game that should not be taken seriously.
very boring response
if you're gonna participate in this discussion, at least don't out yourself like an insecure loser who pretends to have a modicum of maturity yet goes out of their way to post in a thread about "kiddieshit."

gentleman is a fedora tipping faggot

i go with the cutie, try to win the entire game with a magikarp using tackle

The only reason people agree with Karen is because they're waifufags.

Dude, I am sorry you are so insecure about no one taking Pokemon seriously, but it's just factually, mathematically, terribly balanced. The people who make the games could not give less of a shit about "competitive integrity", it is aimed at ages 8-12 entertainment.

I am not trying to come off as "mature", I am just aware of this simple reality shared by pretty much everyone.
Note how you talk about "participating in the discussion" but actually can't argue anything, just awkward projection. Pokemon is a for fun mess, and Smogon is a sad Sisyphean endeavor.

>Game tries to push that pokemon are your friends and all have value
>Makes many of them objectively bad, with bad stats and movepools
>Introduces IVs, which makes some pokemon of the same species just born better and any wild pokemon you caught typically will suck compared to ones you bred like showdogs

>add a mechanic that allows weak mons another chance to see use.

>Never just forget about it in subsequent games

At least I can use mawile now.

Karen definitely comes off as a hypocrite when she says this.
>weavile
Undeniably strong with good stab coverage. Hits fast and hard.
>Absol
Shares the same offensive capabilities as weavile with knockoff/ice beam but has Magic bounce
>spiritomb
Rest talk CM with only weakness to fairy
>houndoom
Access to nasty plot, dark pulse and fireblast hits things hard
>Honchkrow
Moxie with great moves like superpower and bravebird. Lackluster speed covered by sucker punch
>Umbreon
The cleric of the team. Great special wall with moves like wish and heal bell. Foul play to hit things that try to setup on it
Her team of 'favourites' are more than anything lackluster.

Attached: 20190322_173539.jpg (1080x904, 443K)

>chose “fun” Pokemon
>is shit and always a drain on the team, does quickly and contributes nothing
>use it less and less until it inevitably joins Box Row
Only ones that don’t fit this are the cheesy mons that can hold their own through bullshit that makes them fun

chalk it up to gameplay and story segregation

Karen is only saying that because her team was already good.
It's the same shit when people that are already successful tell you to chase your dreams.

The most skilled trainers only choose their favorites based on stats and synergy, that way, when they're playing with their favorites, they're always playing with a good team.

Attached: 1534246765786m.jpg (1024x878, 53K)

Karen.
Chads don't care about meta and just pick what they like.

Attached: 05b7aa94d23cbf86f9bb6a2b753d9d2a.jpg (618x1000, 193K)

i wonder how many karenfags chose chikorita then. Most people never consider it an option because it's one of the weakest grass types.

Chikorita was a meme pick because of the design flaw of the early game.
>1st gym fucks you over
>Sprout Tower is ass
>1st cave has trainers with fire pokemon
>2nd gym fucks you over

Clair's the meta for making my dick feel good.

>try to win
Karen would probably not disagree entirely with the gentleman. If you can hack it, go for it but sometimes a mon just can't keep up and you need to swap it out to increase your odds.

In game though, you can win with literally anything so it doesn't matter.

Based desu

None of these pokemon are particularily strong. Just because her favourite pokemon happen to have any strengths at all doesn't make her a tier whore you absolute autist.

Yeah she was clearly minmaxing when she went for a monotype team with one mon above UU out of 6.

She is also ugly as shit and they had to remove the Viridian forest from the game to save space so they could render her massive fucking forehead.

Luvdisc

based

Karen's speech is nice in theory but so is communism.
I tried a nuzlocke once with a couple Cleffas, one of my favorites, a physical for demanding battles and a special to speed through trash. studied its moveset and even drew a roadmap to ensure my plushies wouldn't be killed. overleved them to 40 just to fight Bugsy and his Scyther.
but eventually I had to face Bruno. even if they were level 100 I still wouldn't be able to reliably ko his level 40 team. I managed with a suicidal double team strat, but what about the rematch? when his team would be in their mid 60s?

moral of the story is that only a moron would follow Karen's advice. in real life, Bruno's Machamps would literally rip my Cleffas in half.

I'd say Karen.
>going up against Lance
>forgot to switch out Yanma
>Yanma is the shittiest, frailest johtomon ever
>use attract because speed is superior, making the gyarados miss every turn
>spam double team until max
>kings rock+headbutt makes it 3 layers of bullshit to get passed
>defeat three of his Pokémon without even trying before finally being taken out
>mfw I take Charizard, Aerodactyl and his last Dragonite with a Corsola I found
There are other options beside brute strength. You can baton pass into a boosted Unown if you want and take out Lance with a Hidden Power Rock Unown. Truly skilled trainers always win. Everyone else, like Yea Forums complains about things not being easy enough. As if Pokémon wasn't easy already.

Karen, because the whole point of the series is catching and using the shit you like, the games feel like they constantly go over how you're meant to have a bond with your Pokemon.

I pick 3 from my list of favorites and fill the remaining slots with new pokemon that seem decent

Here you go if you don't mind her sharibg her spotlight with cybthia and sabrina
nhentai.net/g/122462/3/

One is an elite 4 member, the other is a nobody.

You can beat a Pokémon game with any Pokémon if you overlevel it enough and use HM slaves.

>nuzlocke
>a couple cleffas
You don't seem to know how a nuzlocke works

>When you find out that most of your Pokémon aren't ranked very high in the competitive scene
Then again I have no plans to get into competitive Pokémon so why do I complain?

people come up with their own rules all the time. bottom line is that there's no KO, only death.

Fuck you charizardfags.

Depends if you like winning, in that case chad is right. Stupid female scrub should be just made to cry by beating her multiple times with the best pokemon. Scrubs will learn if you beat them enough times, or they quit. Both is good.

Pick the Pokes you most want to jam your dick inside

The point of tiers is not to tell you your favourite pokemon suck, but to create a frame that allows you to use your favourite pokemon competetively.

Gentleman is generally right.
Not to say you can't sometimes use your favorites and win with clever tricks and strategy.

I really like Duskull, for example, it's not particularly powerful but I can sometimes fuck up another team completely with it.

Attached: 355Duskull.png (431x431, 121K)

Yeah but you have a much higher chance of winning if your team is only overuse Pokémon then a team that's only PU Pokémon.

karenfags eternally btfo

Only if you decide to play OU with your team that's all PU for some retarded reason.
The whole point is that you use your all PU team in an all PU format, while OU teams play in OU format.

You think a Sunflora (if there even is someone who likes this Pokemon) can beat a Salamence

The based option.

Like I said I have no plans to get into competitive Pokémon so my crying is pointless.

huh. i remember him carrying me in alot of fights in FR/LG, they must have buffed him or something

Gentleman.
Strong Pokemon are the best looking to me, and, as a hard working, down to earth man, it's important to have a well rounded team full of powerful, healthy companions who can see you through any conflict.

It doesn't surprise me that some roasty would want "Prettymon".

>sexy girl with top notch tastes in pokémon and clothing, and perfect for breeding for max IVs just fucking look at that body I'd worship her 24/7
or
>old senile faggot with no taste that dresses like every other old faggot in the region, doesn't even have a soul
Hard choice man, hard choice.

I just realized that Umbreon is her ace Pokemon, I always thought it was Houndoom.

Originally it is Houndoom.

One of them is on they E4 the other isnt

>like Garchomp because sick Hammerhead shark dragon
>Like Weavile because the only cat evolution that doesn't look like ugly garbage
>Like Gardevoir because it used to be a creepy clown for me until I played Mystery Dungeon and the realization that it's actually cute made me like it
>I like skarmory because it's a motherfucking steel bird
>All of those are OU or better
I swear I'm not a tourney tard

>not having such crippling autism that you have to make seperate teams for the male and female Player characters that only consists of mons that are native to their region and are relatively balanced so that there are no type overlaps within each team or glaring flaws like 4 mons are weak to the same type kind of thing.
Get on my level.

>implying rich people can't go there
user...

Any Pokemon should be capable of having any stat allocation, in any amount, if you are willing to put in the work.

>2014 we had Wigglytuff and Pachirisu, 2015 we had Clefairy.

Wigglytuff is a very decent tank and cleric with good synergy with many teams, Pachirisu was used once because it synergized perfectly with Park's team as a disruptor, Clefairy is still used in competitive play because of its amazing defenses when holding Eviolite and its great support movepool. You might as well be the kid who writes Karen's quote in youtube comments if you actually think VGC competitors chose them because they were their favorites.

Why is the line spacing in the speech bubble inconsistent? It triggers my autism.

Have always been and will always be a Karen-fag. Smogon can shove it

My favorite pokemon are all strong beasts so I say both.

u have to be pretty special to see that sprite like this.

I was 11 and took everything literally due to my parents parenting

>>Like Gardevoir because it used to be a creepy clown for me until I played Mystery Dungeon and the realization that it's actually cute made me like it
It's actually exactly the same for me.

B A S E D

The last line was probably afterwards, but it was shopped to show the whole thing.
Notice the red arrow pointing downwards it's on the second line, not the last one.

Liking Masquerain is suffering. That moveset tho.

Wasn't it buffed in Gen 7?

OH NO NO NO HOW WILL KARENFAGS EVER RECOVER

One of them is in the elite four, the others just some random dude

>There's a difference between a hobbyist and a pro.
kind of this. karen's stace is good if you want to enjoy yourself. but if winning is truly important (like with tournaments or money matches) you'll have to stick to the meta at least a little bit.
it takes more skill to play off meta and achieve the same level of success.

that being said if a game is balanced enough the meta won't be limited to just 2-3 picks and you'll have a lot more options and counterpicks.
not speaking just about pokemon btw

Reminder that he's now a pro wrestler and is making more money than you ever will

but what if random gentleman used to be a champion we never heard off.

What is the lore behind him GameFreak I demand to know

Karen is wrong but I’d still lick her feet any day

SKITTY

The gentleman if you want to be a serious trainer that goes far. Karen if you just want to have leisurely battles with your friends and neighbors from time to time. It's unfortunate, but some pokemon just have horrible stats.

Mega Ledian when?

There are Pokemon that are objectively better than others, and some Pokemon that are objectively inferior no matter how much you train them, and that's the hard pill to swallow, but the main games are easy so unless you're a tourneyfag or playing a nuzlocke run or something there is no real reason to get autistic over tiers.

Attached: 1552787537838.gif (500x281, 1.9M)

Well, Karen is just a test to enter the serious trainer area, so it makes sense.

Shut up dad

The games can literally be beaten with a single unevolved pokémon that can only use struggle if you're good. The gentleman is absolutely and undeniably wrong in every regard, a weak and unskilled trainer has to resort to picking top tiers, a good one makes their favourites work.

I don't see a contradiction here, both have a fair point.

there you go, then

I love Parasect and its jank. Literally the only evo line in the entire series' history to have a 5 times weakness to any type.

I don't really care about anything other than cumming all over Karen's tummy
