It doesn't really matter. I used Tidus/Yuna/Rikku and it was fine. Even beat Penance, Tidus' overdrive is enough.

Rikku is still super important though.

Yes. It's no coincidence all 3 of their overdrives are the best in the game and they're the only ones who can fight the underwater endgame monster arena bosses.
