The first game was about choice and one of the wrongest choices you could take was siding with illegal immigrants.

Everyone offered good and bad experiences and there were characters aligned towards each point of view so you were sure to find someone to like no matter where you stood.

On top of that there were dozens of characters that leaned multiple ways and had more complex world views so you could always find someone to relate to.
