60 fps is the minimum for normal gameplay (only for slow games where precision doesn't matter much)

120 fps is the standard, 240 is what you actually want

60 fps games have been a thing since before you were born OP
problem is you can't get normalfags hyped about 60fps like you can get them hyped for pretty graphics and lots of shadows and particle effects

there is a difference but it's not worth using literally twice the processing power. 30 fps + proper resolution/AA/textures/shadows > 60fps without

PCs weren't intended for games back then, so getting games to work on one took more power than a computer meant for graphics. Most console and arcade games were 60 fps.

Every console since the NES has targeted 60fps as the standard.

60fps was a trend around 2012. 100+ is the baseline now. even 3 year old midrange cards like rx580 manage it on 1080p

60fps means things run smoother, there is nothing that would not benefit from being 60 rather then 30. But hardware holds that back and people get salty.

Needs a 120hz version. Problem with getting a good monitor is that even it makes 60fps video look stuttery in spots due to excellent pixel response rate.
