I've been practicing star rave, if you can do this in the middle of an air combo it's somewhat big dick. Otherwise JC doesn't seem to do a whole lot for Dante in DMC5, it might give you some extra DPS with Cerberus and some fancy stuff with Balrog but Nero relies on JC more I think
I spent probably 6 hours over the last 2 days just practicing the last Vergil fight as Nero on SOS and while I'm nowhere near good at it at least I've learned to cheese the fuck out of him with blue rose charge spam. I have no idea how you're supposed to get an S rank on this when he barely gives you enough time to even get off a combo let alone close the gap AND combo AND do it well.

I'm the opposite. Bayo was nice, but it's much too reliant on it's 'dance' and that makes all encounters with an enemy feeling the same. It's the perfect kind of game for those that like that kind of thing, but it just ended up making me bored on repeat playthroughs. Not to mention the reliance on button mashing QTE through the entire game and mostly shit feeling weapons.
Also, even outside of QTE, the game encourages tons of mashing. Lots of 'crazy combo' like instances, especially killgore for maximum damage and any time that Bayo goes full power and the best way to do damage in most cases to bosses is using Electric Durga claw attacks.

yea calibur, i feel like if you're not high enough on the monster you're swinging on you'll just naturally miss the JC (or the timing will be a little different so my typical buffer will whiff) so it's just an easy way to recover because yea like you say, once you recover JC your combo might as well have returned to the first stage of juggle.

Dante was never depressed. His personality is consistently the same (slobbish, disinterested) across all material post DMC1, unless he's in the midst of a job or good fight. The only exception is DMC2 where the producer expressed a dislike of Kamiya's Dante and changed him to "character" we got there, with the idea that "something terrible" happened between DMC1 and DMC2 to make him that way. Someone in a previous thread was asking how to deal with Hell Judeccas but it got archived before I could post this. The second RI needs to be delayed a tiny bit or else you'll whiff, and doing it too late will bounce them out of the way as well. If you miss the second one, you can just trickster up to them and long revolver again to set up for a second one.
If you're playing Nero, Hard Way (Hold Y then release on ground) will both gap close and bounce them for a buster, which you can follow up with a combo.
I haven't played with V in the void much to test but I feel like he doesn't have much trouble with Judeccas unlike the other characters as long as you pay attention.

In DMC3, the corrupted Vergil Costumes turn his DT into Nero Angelo complete with moveset. He's a shitload stronger than regular DT until you get Vergil's combos down, at which point he starts to fall behind.
The anime sucks either way besides the OP and a couple of decent episodes but at least the dub has Reuben in it, even if it's a pretty weak performance for him because Dante's so boring in it. No offense to my boy Morikawa of course but he's much better suited to over-the-top PxZ and MvC Dante anyways.

It's pretty fun, I was expecting DMD strength enemies but they're SOS strength, no dt'ing or anything. Pretty fun blazing through the stages and I was already working on no hitting the bosses on DMD.
Here's how I S ranked most mission without spamming RG.
All: >L3 to find best route. 90% of the time, it has big fights for easy style. "secret" side routes have mini-boss style encounters that are harder to style on. >obvi skip small fights, like three empusas in a hall or something. Nero: >air taunt >use your knuckle during the ends of string and during any command attack >double snatch into air combos for mad multipliers >devil buster does less damage than breaker buster, but still tons of style >Don't be afraid to double hold, wire snatch, showdown. >use breakers often and use knuckle. Overture is better than most think.
Dante: >Air taunt in your combos >topgear air combos >get multiple damage sources, so summoned swords or faust shield while you air combo and swap weapons often, no trick-sword. >use rainstorm more, hitting more than one target at once is great style >clash with cerberus for enemies that make it easy, like angelo or cleaver hells. >If you suck with RG, don't be afraid to just basic block in a crowd when the opportunity presents itself. >don't spam it, but occasional spiral stinger or cavalier forward style is great if it hits 3 or more enemies.

I dunno how to stop his self-heal. It just generally isn't a big deal. The animals die quick and he usually goes down to final orb state after his heal.

It's got weird pacing and it just kind of fizzles out after bringing back a fan favorite without really having anything for him to do.

Honeycomb, raining bullets, basic shots, etc >DT to tank small hits without dropping style gauge >dance macabre is a good attack to finish enemies. Builds a lot of meter, and doesn't kill till the last hit >you get a decent style boost when you activate berial >air cavelliere SM pop's griffin's shell quickly >forward SM ground cavelliere and kalina ann neutral GS do a lot of damage to shadow

Be in DT and use bringer snatch, he'll grab your targeted enemy and then right after, he'll grab another enemy. Even if they're behind you. Then release lockon and hold the bringer to double-hold, then wiresnatch while holding to pull a third in. If the third attacks you, he'll hit your shields. Freely charge showdown. Release hold a moment before nero slashes. Hit three enemies with showdown to likely kill them and get isntant SSS. Recommend you use a scheme that lets you do everything. I have brings R2, exceed L1, shoot L2, DT square, and breaker on O. Very comfy for multisnatch and hold stuff.
