Fromsofts games are great and very solid, but not masterpieces.

Never played For Honor so don't know how to compare. Basically all unblockable attacks are divided into categories. You jump a sweep, you parry a thrust, and you side step a grab. Failing to follow this will usually result in the enemy dealing big damage. The trick is figuring out which start up frames result in which unblockable attack. Reacting to it on the fly is incredibly hard.
