steam doesn't discriminate between the exe files it opens, it'll open whatever you point it to; people use a renamed notepad exe a lot for custom "User is playing: Big Fat Cocks" friends-list messages and the like. if sekiro is truly reliant on steam to handle controller inputs then there's not really any way around it

1.5-2 hours in so far, just reached the starting Area and traveled around a bit. IMO it's a solid 7/10, maybe an 8? I'm not being wow'ed but it's pretty early and that might change. The parry system is actually extremely forgiving. You can spam it to get parries off and it works right before or right after getting hit (though the window is still pretty small). You can just block anything that isn't a perilous attack (though that builds up Wolf's posture breaking meter) and despite what people want to believe, you can parry/counter every single perilous attack so far (the red danger warning attacks, you just can't block them).

Also have this problem. The game doesn't detect my controller. It works fine in DMC5.
