It is kind of fucked up how he potentially killed millions of people, and everyone just sort of shrugs it off as sibling rivalry.

>millions
I doubt it was that high

Because he pulled the same shit in 3, why do you fucking retards keep pointing this out when it's already happened before? It's redundant as hell.

Attached: 1514174465647.jpg (748x1024, 148K)

Virgil is always the younger brother who did shit to look strong and got disciplined by D

>B-but you don't see temen-ni-gru kill anyone!

Pretty much my story too OP
The vergilaustis didn't helped his cause.

He didn't make the Qliphoth begin to grow, it happens every thousand or so years naturally. He only split his human and demon halves, partially in order not to die but primarily to become more powerful. His human side could obviously tell his demon side was lost and out of control which is why V hired Dante to defeat him.

>DMC1
>Vergil is a twist character meant to make Dante's personal story a little more tragic when he has to kill him
>DMC3
>Vergil is a rival character meant to make Dante's personal story more compelling and set up his character development after being unable to save him

>DMC5
>Vergil is the end-all-be-all eternal foil to Dante who is equally strong and can never be killed no matter how much evil he does because everyone loves him too much and now him and Dante are gonna battle eternally in hell because apparently all-out defeating Vergil twice at two different points in his life doesn't prove Dante is stronger

Foolishness, Itsuno. Foolishness.

Attached: 1546665909949.png (340x337, 15K)

If there is someone on this board right now that genuinely believes the Temen-ni-Gru killed nobody, then they're fucking retarded.

there was "one guy" before the launch

So you liked Vergil best when he was unapologetically ruthless and power hungry? DMC5 showed that Vergil had mellowed out from his experiences.

>because apparently all-out defeating Vergil twice at two different points in his life doesn't prove Dante is stronger
Not after he ate the fruit.

>apparently all-out defeating Vergil twice at two different points in his life doesn't prove Dante is stronger
Vergil beat Dante enough times in Hell to tie their scores and he is incredibly annoyed that Dante doesn't keep track.

>no rival in 5
the alpha and the omega vergil just doesn't work as the main villain

I agree, but who can even do anything about it?
The only people who can even fight Vergil is his brother and his son.
And of course his own family is not gonna turn him in or kill him or anything.

Attached: huh.jpg (297x545, 38K)

A better Dante face vergil.

Attached: jaab14xfe1p11.jpg (1635x1054, 73K)

The entire point of DMC3 was that Vergil's singleminded quest for power was his downfall, because he lost sight of his humanity, the real source of his and Dante's strength

In DMC5, his singleminded quest for power:
>saves his life as he's fading away
>ultimately gets him restored to his original form right as he's about to be killed
>allows him to keep up with Dante who has previously trounced him more than once
>ends with him completely alive, more powerful than ever, with the only downside being that he's gotta hang out with Dante and kill some demons (which he probably gets off on anyway)

He's not punished at all for his actions and he's now treated as being on exactly the same level as Dante, the fucking protagonist of the series, who stands for the exact opposite ideals

Attached: 1547189333628.jpg (600x450, 37K)

The Qlipoth is a natural phenomenon, it isn't sufficiently explained in the game granted, but Vergil didn't cause it to happen, it's natural.

I do agree somewhat that he was mischaractered. I liked the fact he mellowed out but it felt way too quick. I think urizen should've been beaten halfway through the game so we could have Vergil as the antagonist for the second half of the game. Then over this it could show him changing his stance rather than finally attaining supreme power and all of a sudden mellowing out.

This. I'm fine with redeeming Vergil but they used the shittiest way to do it. His motivation from the start was already a flaw. Vergil never gave a shit about losing to Dante since Dante, who has more "power", beat him. It was fair. Why would Vergil be bitter about it? This is weird since V's characterization is handled well.

Vergil is Itsuno's waifu after all.
Also please stop makong everyone else in the series kissless, sexless virgins.

Not really

>Tree would have grown anyways
>Vergil tries to separate his humanity thinking it will give him more power and he was about to shrivel up into a fucking raisin while still being tormented by memories of Nelo Angelo and getting BTFO/mindraped nonstop
>Demon self goes crazy in pursuit of power, human self tries to stop it
>Once he becomes whole again he literally just wants to rematch Dante then goes off to seal the tree immediately afterwards

Vergil himself really did nothing wrong he just made a really big mistake that he desperately tried to fix

Vergil became so iconic after 3 that Itsuno had no choice but to make him the secondary main character. And Dante's tragedy of having no family left meant that the only way for him to have a truly happy ending was for Vergil to come back and the only way Dante and Vergil can coexist is them unleashing their full sparda autism in hell together

good idea but really poor execution

he used it to his advantage tho

Nero is Itsuno's true waifu.
Itsuno always wanted strapping young lad as the MC, which is why DMC3 was a prequel.
But Itsuno also respects Kamiya a lot and he doesn't want to get blocked by him by messing with the stuff Kamiya established in DMC1 like the weird DantexTrish mommy fetish thing.
Vergil was easier to write, because he was pretty much a non-character in DMC1.
Through Vergil it was possible to make a new DMC MC that was a descendant of Sparda and free from Kamiya's canon.

Attached: Nero_(Model)_DMC4.png (828x1555, 1.01M)

Where did Itsuno go so wrong?

dante literally tried to kill him retard

nero stopped them because it would just kill more people if they continued to fight and because he needed their help to stop the qliphoth

urizen used the yamato to open a portal into the underworld allowing the qliphoth to spread into redgrave city to devour the citizens and use their blood to form the fruit

it wasn't growing naturally; he let it in.

>Don't say it!
>JACKPOT!
Is it just me or did DMC5 use this wrong? I always took it that Jackpot was a special move that Dante and Vergil pulled off in unison. But in DMC5, it seems like they can say it whenever they like. It kinda kills the uniquness of it.

Attached: vergil.gif (524x200, 1.66M)

>itsuno said that players will cry
yeah I can see why

That's not what it's used for but they pretty much misused it for a joke. It was meant to be used against Mundus and really big threats. It's not exclusive to Dante and Vergil.

Nero stopped them because he refused to sit there and watch as his family members die again, there wasn't a single thought about saving the city when he jumped into it
It was his final push to get his DT
did you even played the game?

>Is it just me or did DMC5 use this wrong?

No it's a catchphrase Dante's likes to use, used it to finish of Mundas in DMC1.

DMC4 made me hate Nero
DMC5 made me love Nero

It was literally the ending of DMC1. Using it again in DMC3 recontextualized it as something they did together, adding some tragedy to it by implying he now has to do it alone, albeit maybe it's nice that he's carrying on Vergil's spirit through it.
I guess in the time since DMC3 (for the vast majority of which Vergil has been straight up dead or mind controlled) he developed an aversion to it. Makes sense to his character I guess, but it would've been nice for them to do it together if the game is gonna have so much fanservice.

Nevermind the fact that bringing Vergil back to life kinda kills the aforementioned specialness that him being dead added to the end of DMC11.

He was likeable in DMC4 aswell.

Ok I'll take this as a sign that I really need to get to playing DMC1.

Only when he's trash talking, his rage over Kyrie is annoying as fuck every time.

>DMC3 Vergil summons giant tower in a city killing a bunch of people with demons.
>Wow Vergil is a rival to Dante this is so cool MOTIVATION!
>DMC5 Vergil's demon half summons a giant tree tower that kills a bunch of people.
>WTF, I hate Vergil now.

Attached: 1553001704938.png (198x276, 76K)

So? He was going to die if he didn't. Calling him evil because of that is like calling someone evil because they got a heart from an organ donor.

Yep. I actually liked that he said it when he first meets Urizen. It made Urizen recognize him which was pretty cool. I know you want to give fanservice but this pretty shitty. It makes it feel like a parody. I mean DMC4 Dante was a parody of himself in that game but I always felt like they took it too far. Dante was pretty much meant to be a straight up hero after 1 and 3. DMC3 is starting to feel like a fluke. How that recontextualized DMC1 was pretty genius while handling the story well.

Is it me or this game is much easier and fluid compared to the rest?

I have no problem style switching, RGing, weapon swithing to chain combos easily. It feels like nemies attack much less and much slower, and it's easier to stay in the air.

V is especially easy and has a good amount iframes in his side steps.

Nero is just OP with so many get out of jail free cards using JC, DT or his arm shit.

I feel like replaying 4 just to see if I improved or the game really is easier.

Attached: 1551639623524.jpg (828x1107, 72K)

At this rate, DMC3 is going down as the MGS3 of the DMC series.

Dumbass retard you fell for the shilling lmao

Best Arm: Helter Skelter
Worst Arm: Dammit they're all good!

DMC3 ends with Vergil going into the Underworld and getting buttraped by Mundus. DMC5 ends with Dante being buddy buddy with Vergil. DMC5 would be fine if it was handled well but it was poorly executed.

>adding some tragedy to it by implying he now has to do it alone
He didn't do it alone, he did it with Trish

>”Looks like we have a winner!”
>”JACKPOT”

People tend to forget that the tower killed humans giving the complete lack of human bodies. There's a bit of blood in the strip club but that's it, meanwhile DMC5 is constantly showing you the cost of human life through the ash bodies and hilarious amounts of human blood flowing in the tree.

>DMC3 is starting to feel like a fluke
Holy fucking shit this is the actual mindset of braindead DMCV fans.
You are either a fucking shit eating falseflagger or an autistic shill.

V restored Vergil's humanity plus the fruit made Vergil much stronger. That's why Urizen even with the fruit loses to Dante but Vergil equals Dante out.

Best arm is Buster Arm
It's the "and fuck that guy in particular": the arm

Gravity buildup is really weak and areas are pretty open. I think enemies needed either more movement speed and aggressiveness or ranged attacks to keep up with the main cast's improved nigh broken moveset.

I think Ragtime is the weakest but it still has a good breakage.

Vergil repented on his own, in his own way, at the end of 3. We knew as soon as he dropped into hell, and especially once Mundus showed up, that he wouldn't be fucking the world up anymore.
In 5 it's like, we're really gonna just let this dude live after all this shit? No assurance he won't do it again if and when he gets out of hell? This is the second time, he clearly didn't learn shit from the first. Dante's really just gonna be friendly rivals with him now?

What are you talking about? I'm saying DMC3 was good and handled the story way better without feeling like fanservice, retard.

So you're disregarding V's actions because Urizen and Vergil pre-V are autistic?

And V walked the path of redemption that was soiled by Vergil and Urizen. V is Vergil restoring his humanity. In DMC 3 Vergil would've been quicker to Judgement Cut Nero than thank him.

No. I'm taking that in consideration. V always meant to return back to Vergil to survive so how good he was is pretty subjective. Vergil still needed to answer for it. The game showing all the dead people to you and refusing to acknowledge it during the final confrontation is giving me mixed signals of what it wanted to impart. Do you want me to see the destruction and be angry at the one who caused it? If so, Why not address it?

Nero fucking sucked in 4

I think the intent was to show the absolute extremes Vergil's lust for power could possibly get, and then try to shift the blame off of Vergil himself but they don't really do a very good job at that.

>In DMC 3 Vergil would've been quicker to Judgement Cut Nero than thank him
This is just blatantly wrong. DMC3 Vergil knew when he was beaten and decided to keep his dignity by following his own path rather than continuing to fight or giving up on his goals completely. He was a prideful asshole without ethics, not a complete psycho.
This is why the cutscene after Dante's fight with him in 5 has to bullshit its way into Dante losing, even if you beat him without taking a single hit. Because Vergil losing outright would've meant he'd shut the fuck up and go back to hell like last time.

That's specifically what V rejoining Urizen does. It gives him the basic dignity of knowing when he's lost and accepting it.

??? even Nero says it in DMC4. It's basically a signature move with guns. It's not exclusive to Vergil and Dante. Hell when Vergil has to use a gun with Dante and says the line he's irritated he has to use a gun and do it Dante's way.

It was funny at the end because Vergil constantly shits on Dante for using guns because he thinks guns are for pussies, again why he was annoyed by having to use one of Dante's guns and even say his signature line to kill that demon in dmc3

>Nero vs Vergil theme is literally just Devil Trigger [WUBBETH INTENSIFIES remix]
>it's fucking top tier
I'll never get over the way DMC5 just feels like Itsuno took everything about DmC and decided to show Tameem how to do it right.

Dante doesn't lose. The entire ending makes it clear that Dante and Vergil are dead even>I always took it that Jackpot was a special move that Dante and Vergil pulled off in unison

It's just a catchphrase dumbass

this might be a retarded question, but is being an angelo a special thing in the DMC universe, since theres so many types of them as enemies? or is t just a fancy and cool name for knight enemies

i think its mostly just a cool name given to a special breed of demons.
but some angelos are just hollow suits that are powered by a life source, like nelo angelo, cavaliere angelo, and i guess artemis is technically an angelo too

Angelos were initially Mundus' creation, with Nelo Angelo pretty much being the culmination of them. Then the Order got shards of his armor and made their own Angelos out of them. How the fuck Urizen makes them I have no idea

>Do you want me to see the destruction and be angry at the one who caused it?
Well this is mixed between a natural demonic event and Urizen sitting in a chair waiting for power. Yes Vergil split his humanity from his demon self and started Urizen down his path but Urizen didn't really do anything but fight off the DMC crew and let the Qliphoth grow. Which V immediately put Dante on the trail to Urizen to try and stop him. V didn't want to be restored until Trish said something to him, I don't remember it perfectly.

I just don't like his face.
Your pic is modified and it looks way better than the bogdanoff face he has now

>:
READ THE FUCKING GALLERY!
Tree was sealed off when Sparda use d Yamamato to seal of the underworld.

Vergil unleashed it after he took neros arm and his sword back

Dante didn't lose and also if you're saying the guy who summoned a huge fuck all tower in the middle of a city killing a whole bunch of people just to say "My dick is bigger brother, come fight me." Isn't a psychopath makes you not so bright.

Nah the city was probably evacuated before that many could die. It's still not nice but I also never understand why people focus 100% on Urizen being Vergil and causing all this and fully ignore V being just as much a part of Vergil and trying to stop it all. The Vergil we get back would not do such a thing. What he did in DMC3 didn't cause nearly as much damage to the surroundings, you can see in 5 if you look around that the entire city is destroyed as far as you can look and cars are still somehow standing on parts of the ground that are like 180° turned around

Why would V want to be restored to Vergil if they're talking about wanting to right Vergil's sins since Vergil definitely barely cared and the story barely hinted at his remorse. It's why Vergil agreeing to cut the Quilphoth roots feels sudden and a cop out.

>He's not punished at all
He kinda was when he was V, fading away becoming weak and useless all things he fears, it's as if he was in his own personal hell

>people focus 100% on Urizen being Vergil and causing all this and fully ignore V being just as much a part of Vergil
It's the other way around

I mean people here like OP, not in the game.

>V always meant to return back to Vergil to survive
Not really, his first plan was to destroy Urizen before he woke up and he brought both Dante and Nero to do it.

>How the fuck Urizen makes them I have no idea
The qliphoth creating them from his physical memory of his time as Nelo, maybe.

Who cares, a cool character was partly responsible for the death of some npcs. Shit happens. He's still cool.

Not really. If you imagine it as Vergil already getting the fruit and not wanting anyone else to in the future, it makes more sense and fits his personality better.

>the guy who summoned a huge fuck all tower in the middle of a city killing a whole bunch of people
He also tried to open the demon world lol.

op is one of the few
most people just ignore Urizen because "he doesn't have Vergil's memories " or "he did that in 3 so it's ok"

Look I'm not saying the story is perfect but maybe Vergil wanted to prove to himself that the power he acquired was worth it, That all the sacrifices weren't a waste, that his way of thinking was right. It got Vergil far, Hell he even matched Dante but it ultimately failed.Vergil even since 3 respected power and when Vergil loses to Nero he does the same thing he did in 3 but Dante goes this time to seal away Hell. Yes it's a bit more dramatic and people don't like Nero getting the spotlight but it isn't a farcry from what happened in 3.

Wut but if the Qlipoth only grows in the underworld like you say then how did it ever grow and how did Mundus eat its fruit? It needs crazy amount of human blood to grow, doesn't work otherwise

That's some headcannon bullshit. I would've believed it if V didn't literally say that Vergil wanted to beat Dante, which resulted in Urizen.

> the bogdanoff face he has now
> the guy pic related.

Holy shit user, it's your right to not like his design in 5 but if you want to say a reason as to why at least give a viable one.

Attached: 1552405892785.png (811x596, 728K)

>Nico stuttering and getting all nervous and posing with Dante

FUCKING
CUTE

Yeah they don't explain it much even in Nico's notes but this isn't a Temen Ni Gro situation where it was started on purpose, the tree appeared naturally and Urizen plugged himself into it to stay alive until the fruit was ready

It's better than any other reason I've heard. Dante wants to cut the tree, Vergil wants to cut the tree better. Dante wants to fight demons in hell, Vergil wants to fight demons better than Dante in hell. Vergil wants to fight Dante some more, helps him out until he's available for a fight. It makes sense for Vergil to think that his use for the tree is over and that leaving it would just make more problems to sort out before he can fight Dante again.

I agree. There's my main problen. They flobbed the execution. This would've been a fastastic way to show/end the Sons of Sparda saga. It made sense and the fact that the story never once brought it up is frustrating. They could've made it so that Vergil secretly wanted Nero or Dante to challenge his method. It felt like it was afraid to show Vergil as insecure in his desire for power. I felt like we got a diet version of what made sense.

Yeah that makes sense but people say that Urizen opened a portal with Yamato to make it possible for the tree to grow in the human world for the first time. But that doesn't make sense, it must always have been a tree that also appears in the human world because it can't grow otherwise. It's also said to have existed before the underworld did. Which automatically excludes it from being (normally) underworld exclusive. It doesn't really care about the world barriers and doesn't need Yamato to enter the human world

Attached: 1553117013949.jpg (1245x705, 137K)

yeah, it fucks up his character arc. DMC3 is where vergil ends as a character. In addition to being Dante' s rival, he also serves as an example of the life Dante could choose. initially Dante completely rejects acquiring power and his heritage, saying he has no father. This is part of the fundamental difference between the two of them.

However, by the story's end, Dante has accepted both his heritage and the necessity of power. However, he believes that power must have a moral use, hence why be says "my heart is saying it wants to stop you."

As a result, part of what makes vergil such a great character is not just his style and MOTIVATION, but the changes that he causes in Dante as the protagonist.

jump to dmcV, however, and it's a total retread with a completely inert story. Dante is no longer the cocky kid who rejects his heritage and gets curbstomped, he's GIVES NO FUCKS OP Uncle Dante. this made sense in 4, where he wasn't the main char, but in V it means we have a protag who has no stakes and no concerns. Outside of an easily acquired SSJ power up, vergils actions do not change Dante as a person. he isn't forced to grow to overcome his brother. instead he treats victory as a foregone conclusion, which we know it is because we already went through this in 3, but the characters at least have to think they can't win. Dante can't even be asses to give a shit when Nero cuts into his fight, once again nullifying all dramatic tension.

I agree, Vergil wears his mask of confidence well, that's why we get to experience his insecurities through V and Urizen. I can't remember quotes well but when Vergil asks Dante if things had been different would they have switched places I think that shows a bit into Vergil's human side. I don't think we got enough Vergil to really see a change. I have my fingers crossed for story DLC just for Sparda sons shenanigans.

Attached: 1552999303389.jpg (390x398, 135K)

Alright. For everyone still arguing about the damn tree, this is pulled right out of the game through the gallery and spoken lines.

It is naturally occurring. Every few thousand years, it consumes the blood of thousands of humans to bear fruit that gives any demon that eats it a power boost. Mundus was the last person to use it to become king of the underworld (Trish) . Sparda used the yamato to seperate the underworld and human world. The tree would still grow, but without blood it wouldn't bear fruit (Gallery). After seperating, Urizen used the Yamato to open a portal allowing the tree to enter the human world and begin consuming blood. (Dante and Vergils convo about closing the portal).

If I've missed anything or got something wrong, at least use a point from the games to correct it. Speculation gets you right on the retard list.

Attached: 1539301215081.jpg (480x360, 15K)

vorgin >dmc 5 vergil

>he thinks Vergil is responsible for Urizen actions

BIG FUCKING YIKES

Attached: 1550983066406.gif (380x285, 1.97M)

No. Vergil in 5 sucked but Vorgin is such a nothing character I couldn't care about.

Vergil is responsible for urizen's existence

It's not something they did together. Vergil says something like "I'll try it your way for once" right before they both say Jackpot, meaning it's something Vergil knows Dante likes to say.

>people say that Urizen opened a portal with Yamato to make it possible for the tree to grow in the human world for the first time
I haven't seen anything that suggests Urizen actually did open a portal to let it out, just anons saying so.

That's like saying a person is responsible for everything their child does long after they've become an adult.

The gallery states that Sparda sealed it away. At the end of the game, Dante and Vergil talk about entering the portal created by the Yamato and cutting the roots inside hell.

the first thing nero says after you beat vergil is that they dont have time to fight because they have to stop the tree

No, it's like letting your 60 pound pitbull that hates children loose on a playground and then acting surprised that he mauls 15 children to death claiming your are not at fault.

>Nero getting the spotlight but it isn't a farcry from what happened in 3.
EXACTLY!
Anons always ignore or think im shit posting for (you)s when i say DMC5 story is basically a rewritten 3 where instead of losing Vergil it brings him back.

Thats why i score the game an 8/10 cause its a reused story and they reuse it in a half assed way like you and the other user you replied to stated.

8/10 is gameplay, chrcaters, and managing to give DMC the realistic look that tammen fuckface failed to do,but that story is ass and shits all over the previous titles and 3 being the main one it shits all over the most

That's a very stupid thought

>i hate vergil because he killed a bunch of literally whos and got away with it
Moralfags out.

Great criticism user. Said what I was too dumb to articulate.

>all these moralfags whining about fucking randos

Imagine playing these games and giving a shit about any of the literal who civilians, Vergil could cause a nuclear holocaust in 6 and it still wouldn't be a big deal.

Attached: 1552997497867.jpg (1024x539, 73K)

the qliphoth is a tree that grows in the underworld. it is the tree of life for demons.

when dante confronts vergil he says "your portal opening days are over". you can clearly see a purple portal at the base of the qliphoth that it is growing through to enter the human world.

after you beat vergil twice he and dante go into the underworld to sever its roots and kill it before closing the portal it's growing through.

the qliphoth grows in the underworld and urizen/vergil's portal opened under the city allowed it to spread into the human world where it fed on blood and engorged. mundus likely did something similar to feed it back when he was ruling the world, and sparda likely stopped it in much the same way

Attached: file.png (1590x471, 77K)

This is what Trish and Lady been doing while Dante was in hell.

cf.mastohost.com/v1/AUTH_91eb37814936490c95da7b85993cc2ff/baraag/media_attachments/files/003/338/808/original/b9ab78277ba05600.mp4

They are two crazy bitches.

Are you retarded?

If I don't care and the characters don't care, Why did they try to stop Vergil and want to seal the Underworld? Obviously they care, dumbass. Everything goes out the window in terms of story investment and character motivation if people didn't care.

why so?

>get destroyed by arguments
>w-who cares anyway

Attached: 1552261248981.jpg (1000x666, 426K)

> The tree would still grow, but without blood it wouldn't bear fruit (Gallery).
The tree would still grow in the underworld user, but couldn't touch the human world cause sparda sealed of the demon world.

URIZEN= Vergil and this cant be denied.\
Even Dante recognizes that its vergil fro mhis interactions with him.
URIZEN is a fake name even stated by TRISH you numbskull;"There is no demon named Urizen".

Are you 12?

Yeah I agree that DMC5 is an 8/10 but I also feel like 3's story which is better than 5's gets felatio'd because it was most people's first DMC. If Bloody Palace has Co-op though DMC5 will easily be my favorite in the series.

>giving this much of a shit about story in DMC
Yikes. You play DMC for fun characters and gameplay not the story which is simplistic as fuck in every game.
Storyfags should fuck off. Though I have to admit, ending of 5 was unironically the best DMC ending, it wrapped everything up perfectly and was satisfying as fuck.

What arguments? He killed an entire town in 3 too. Don't remember anyone complaining about it.

Dumb fucks alert
Dante says the first time he meets Urizen"So it is you..........Jackpot",and Urizen replies "Dante" cause he remebers his brother.

V=VERGIL
URIZEN=VERGIL
They are one in the same person regardless of there somewhat unique(Not completly unique as Urizen is power hungry and V has vergils mannerism) personalizes

Did you miss that part where it was said that Urizen is demon side of Vergil? Are you illiterate? Deaf?

>If Bloody Palace has Co-op though DMC5 will easily be my favorite in the series.
Thats still just gameplay that we already have with playing along side other players user,so it doesnt really add any value to the story.

Only thing that can make the game 10/10 is DLC Vergil and Dante story and Vergil actually apologies to Dante for all the trouble hes caused him or something

We understand that but what bothers anons is the story isn't consistent with its previous titles

>i-it's just like 3
Oh, I must have missed when DMC5 ended with Vergil being left alone in hell and subsequently getting raped for decades by Mundus.

OKAY AND YOU DUMB FUCK VERGIL IS HALF DEMON SO URIZEN IS STILL THE DEMONIC PART OF VERGIL WHILE V IS THE HUMAN PART!

ARE YOU ILLITERATE?
ARE YOU REATRDED?
CAN YOU NOT UNDERSTAND SOMETHING SPELLED OUT FOR YOU IN THE GAME RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FLABBY JAW-LESS ASSS FACE?

Why are you screaming

Its a ridiculous game with a ridiculous story. It's fine.

Why isn't Dante rich from his demon hunting business?

Attached: 1539853556029.png (758x799, 481K)

>story isn't consistent with its previous titles
How? Seems about the same dumb shit to me. I liked how Vergil stopped being an asshole after finally getting the power he wanted from the fruit and just wanted to settle the score with Dante now.

>URIZEN= Vergil and this cant be denied
>I have no name. I am power, absolute.
Urizen isn't Vergil, he's literally just Vergil's isolated ambition and desire for might. Neither V nor Urizen are Vergil himself, but if either of them comes close enough to qualify, it's V since he's the one who possesses all of Vergil's memories. The only thing Urizen seems to remember is Dante; he doesn't remember anything else about Vergil's past, as evidenced by his line in the illusory fruit room.

V and Urizen are not Vergil.
Vergil wanted power at any cost because you can't protect anything without power. He had some assbackwards logic to that but okay.
Urizen wants power for power's sake, he doesn't even remember why the dreamscape containing the Sons of Sparda's childhood home is significant
V was very clearly against what Urizen was doing and was prepared to die to stop him up until Trish told him to man up and see the whole thing through after M11
You can blame Vergil for Temen ni Gru but 5's events were all Urizen

So you're just mad because Vergil didn't get punished enough? Lol. That guy suffered enough throughout his whole life, he deserved the happy ending.

While this was a well thought out post. It's a combination of both Lady AND Vergil that shape Dante as a person. Lady's determination to stop her pops is what made Dante take family seriously.
Remember this cutscene?
youtube.com/watch?v=gNkl6OoYIvM
annnnd this one
youtube.com/watch?v=KoYOek283zY
Where he directly states she's the one who inspired his decisions.

Dante ultimately stops Vergil at the end due to a sense of obligation to his father and family and a responsibility to prevent his brother from unleashing literal hell on earth. 3 is extremely personal for Dante as it helps solidify his moral compass.
So he stops his brother, his brother accepts defeat rather than allow himself to be saved. Game ends. Dante takes what happens here to shape his entire life.

Vergil's motivations are never explicitly stated in game but we draw a bunch of lines due to the game, it's context clues. We assume that Vergil seeks power as a response to the trauma of his childhood and a rejection of his humanity.

DMC5 is a conclusion. Dante is already developed a character. If there were any comparisons I could make. I'd say it's more like Deathstalker than Star Wars. Dante has already developed as a character and so the story revolves around closing the loop and taking care of loose ends.

What happened to Vergil after Mundus?
Why did Vergil become who he is?
What do we as the audience really know about him?

In DMC5, the story isn't about Dante. It's about Vergil. It's why V is introduced early on, why he receives the most exposition, and why Urizen says all the things he does in the fight on Chapter 17 about power, memories, and loss.

The REAL problem is that these things are exactly stated. Like yeah they have the subtlety of a punch to the face but they avoid a lot of the blatant exposition that 3 throws at you to show Dantes development as a character.

>gets thrown away like trash after DMC1
>literally on the verge of ruin for years
>has a breakdown and performs a power play to try and get stronger, backfires horribly
>human side laments becoming so fucked up while you watch your autistic demon half be a power rangers villain
>Vergil contemplates if their lives would have gone down the same road if the roles were switched, and by proxy if Dante would have been a better man than him
>only friend he made turned out to be the son of the girl he pumped and dumped

Vergil's entire life has been a tragedy until the very end of DMC5 don't kid yourself

Then the game has shit writing.

Then the user is lost.

All DMC games do.

Imagine being such a brainlet that you don't understand that the Qliphoth is a naturally occurring phenomenon and would have happened regardless.

Imagine being such a brainlet that you can't understand that Vergil gained redemption through V's actions, as V represented his human side.

Fucks sake you idiots this is basic storytelling.

Attached: 1505740697061.jpg (319x319, 11K)

No, you're wrong. Vergil literally says
>Remember what WE used to say?

5 is the end of sons of sparda story. Instead of fighting the rival throughout the game then fighting the villain at the end, you fight the villain throughout the game then fight the rival at the end. This is because the villain is the embodiment of Vergil's evil side, so you end on Nero settling his family's goofy blood feud instead of the save the world plot. I think it's 100% the correct way to end the story they were trying to tell.

The plant killed people.
Not Vergil.

>So you're just mad because Vergil didn't get punished enough?
Your ability to draw conclusions is too flawed
refer back to me laughing at you

Reminder that in 3 it's never explained why Vergil wanted all that power. Even Arkham has a proper, albeit cliche, reason.
For Vergil it's literally just because lol xD. Shit writing.

>Cause 2 City wide massacres
>Sends creepy old man to wreck brother's office
>Rips off son's arm
>Tricks brother into letting him kill himself, only to revive and try to kill him

Attached: 1552998070812.jpg (300x621, 27K)

All the blood you see in the tree isn't coming from nowhere.

We already talked about this. He lost to Dante convincingly and got buttblasted by Mundus after. A reasonable punishment and they didn't have a lot of moments to make him accountable.

I also have an issue with gameplay too. They made everything to easy to do. Gravity is reasonable lower and most enemies get staggered so easily.
The melee guys are so unaggressive when you're far away from them, even in DMD. This is a problem in huge open areas. They can barely do anything to the playable cast because of it. I would've liked them to have more aggressive AI or a ranged attack to compensate.
Ranged mage types enemies have lenient AI that requires them to be infront of you to attack. This is an issue since their cast time is too long and they're extremely staggerable. A loud unique sound queue for their attacks would've been preferable.
Bosses in this game are unimpressive for the most part. They're alright but against the main cast, They're like chumps. They lack a decent amount of moves to make them threatening. I played it on DMD and I found them barely challenging. This is a problem since this game has so much options to dodge attacks. Vergil being easier than he was in 3 against 5 Dante is laughable.
This is my main gripe with DMD. Enemy DT is still shit. It was fine in DMC1 since you could easily wipe out a room before the enemies can DT but it has been an issue since. Damage reduction + the inflated health pool of DMD is stupid. I suggest reduce damage reduction + fasted enemy speed + new threatening moves. I can definitely see a Proto Angelo using Meteor like Nelo.
It's just disappointing since the characters are good that the enemies in DMC always have to suffer.

Nero is the goodest boy two games running

>The tree would still grow in the underworld user, but couldn't touch the human world cause sparda sealed of the demon world.

That was literally the sentence before the one you quoted.

He's not punished at the end of the game, but he learns from his mistakes. He realizes he fucked up. He knows Dante is better than him and he hopes Dante can fix his mistakes.
His punishment is that he was humbled when he saw the damage he wrought.
If you're mad because he didn't get raped in demon jail that's fine, but if you actually think he's exactly the same as he was all the way back in DMC3 you just completely ignored everything that happened to V and how Vergil acted once Nero began to kick the shit out of him.

Attached: Fu2.gif (480x270, 3.76M)

Dante went from fun boomer uncle to legitimate peter pan syndrome manchild.
I want to go back

Cool reaction image, dude. Where's the argument?

Zoomers, man. They take in too much soi in their diet which makes them act like total faggots. They're the type of pussies that obey all the traffic laws in GTA.

All of this could have worked if they let vergil stay dead and went forward with V, who has to live with the guilt of his past selfs actions

when they fuse, however, it's right back to same old vergil, until Nero slaps his shit and then he just settles down because...?

Ok im gonna finish SoS today

Attached: 65ord.jpg (1080x602, 195K)

The dialogue in 3 implied it was because of Vergil's trauma of losing Eva. That's the issue with 5. There's no implying why Vergil wants to beat Dante. The story wants you to believe Vergil got buttblasted because he lost to Dante but Vergil would never be bitter about losing. Dante beat him fair and square in both 1 or 3. It's such an uncharacteristic motivation for his established character.

>Vergil being easier than he was in 3 against 5 Dante is laughable.
5 Vergil is harder than 3, what the fuck are you talking about?

>Vergil says
No Dante does but you're still right because Vergil smiles right after Dante says that.

>w-who cares
>gets destroyed
>b-but DMC3
>get destroyed
>trying to cherry pick from answer to an argument you made yourself
>get destroyed because you don't understand why someone doesn't answer to your own made up reasoning
>ARGUE WITH REEEE
No

>There's no implying why Vergil wants to beat Dante.
V literally tells you outright why why are fighting.

You're talking about 4? Because in 5 he takes serious shit seriously and only fucks around when it's appropriate. It's a nice mix of 1 and 3 Dante.

I died more times to Vergil 4 on DH than I did to any version of Vergil 3
Now granted several of those were me trying to do stupid shit to style on him but he's way less abusable than SCUM SCUM BLAST BLAST BLAST Vergil 3, especially if you don't smash him out of DT with a Royal Release.

vergil is too popular to die
and 5's story is rewritten mess so who cares

He felt easier to me. His only threatening move is doppelganger and that's easily killable. The only reason I could see somebody die is if they decided to Royal Guard the fight. I mean his Helm Breaker is that awkward slow one Vorgin had.

Are you okay man? What the fuck are you blabbering about?

He's more serious in this than 3 or 4, for my money.

Attached: 1551235839061.png (625x626, 56K)

>waahhh muh V
Spotted the Vfujo

yeah,it would have been nice to have a game where Nero and V,as the "sons" of vergil, grapple with his legacy

Yes and I reject that. Why would Vergil be angry that he lost to Dante? This is the guy that Dante called to have guts and honor. Dante even has that line for one of his taunts.

That's not true at all, another employee even needed to tell him that Nero's relevant enough to be an MC in 5, and Itsuno was surprised by that. Itsuno actually went on record that Vergil is his favourite DMC character.

Because in the end of 3 he was defeated and became Mundus bitch, he had a punishment, in 5 he gets away without any problem

V was a mistake

The fact that you can't follow your own posts is what I'm talking about.
I answered all your arguments but will not engage your made-up reasoning. You got dismantled too many times in a row. The post lists all your posts and how you how you got dismantled.

>Why would Vergil be angry that he lost to Dante?
Because he's an autistic manchild obsessed with power? Did you not play 3 or something? What the fuck?

so whats the stroy of that plant ? nothing is explained ingame as far as i know. even urizen eating the fruit didnt have any long lasting effect on vergil as it seems...

>Vujos are too stupid to understand a video game story
If you really can't see how Vergil has changed immediately upon returning then you honestly need to be lobotomised, because you clearly have no use for your brain.

Attached: 1553120786830.jpg (400x463, 26K)

>stuck in hell
>gets away without any problem
Uh-huh

see

I didn't have a problem with 5's story, but he ain't stuck in hell he has fucking Yamato with him

Oh my, is your schizophrenia flaring up? Take your pills, user.

That doesn't compute. He has an obsession with power but how does that translate to him hating Dante? It's also unbelievable shallow. In 3, Vergil wanted Sparda's power. Lecturing Dante was only a small part of it. In 5, Beating Dante suddenly becomes a crucial part of his motivation for no reason.

Thanks, Vergil from saving us from....well....you.

Attached: 100_to_fuck_off.jpg (500x375, 25K)

>Why would Vergil be angry that he lost to Dante?
1. Dante was an antagonistic little turd to Vergil when they were kids and that created a lot of contempt.
2. Dante has thwarted Vergil's ambitions at every turn, which also bred a lot of contempt.
3. Brothers.

>Urizen is responsible for the tree
>Vergil survives his rematch with Dante and immediately goes to cut it down because he's in touch with his humanity now because of V, but still retains his rivalry autism because of Urizen
what's so complicated about this you autists?

Because Dante is stronger, the one person he can't outshine. Vergil concentrates on his demonic heritage because he's retarded and doesn't know his humanity is what makes him and Dante stronger.

Take your deflection tactic elsewhere or get a little more creative than regurgitating the typical Yea Forums spiel just because you are assblasted about an argument you lost.

That's naive. He also has Dante with him. Somebody that managed to get out of Hell once. He also seems happy and the story didn't acknowledge any atonement or remorse from him. Vergil is unbelievable shallow if beating Dante was his only motivation in 5.

Apparently your redemption is incomplete unless you've been punished like a 12 year old

Who ever said that he hated Dante? Nowhere is that stated.

I need this edited to Faust and a Judecca
"I'll pay you 100,000 red orbs to fuck off"

It's very implied that Vergil had a character change after fighting Nero... But they didn't take enough time with it.

Oh nvm about revenge or rivalry or power I just got beat by Dante and mahboi time to be BFF's and cut this tree down that I caused.

No breakdown or anything just turncoats in five seconds.

actually, didn't Dante attack Vergil first when he showed up without even hearing him out?

Yeah 5 minutes plus a month as V reflecting on how much of an autistic dipshit he was

>I'M BACK LET'S FIGHT
Yeah, wow, he really changed.

DMCV is a rehash of FF7 ADVENT CHILDREN, which already sucked

but it's just showing that dante and vergil are aging.

vergil is an autismo that obsesses over killing dante, so it'd make sense that his stress made him lose his hair.

hmm.
i mean. i guess it works. dmc5 seems to try to focus on developing nero and vergil but it ends up kind of "meh". it just isnt as ambitious (in narrative and cohesion) as dmc 3 bcs of the production costs. the gameplay is very good for it and i think it was the right decision to focus on that.

>no one cares about the story! the devs just put tons of time, money, and effort into cutscenes, voice acting, writing, and characters for no reason! they just wanted to waste money because it'd be funny!

fuck off you anti intellectual twat

Attached: 1542679146749.jpg (473x473, 28K)

Yep.

>Stuck in hell
>Yamato
You didn't think this through user

Holy fuck, are you seriously this stupid? Did you miss that part where V almost kills Dante while saying shit like "if you never existed"? How Vergil talks about Eva saving Dante instead of him? He hates Dante because he thinks all the problems in his life are because of Dante's existence and because he thinks Eva loved Dante more.
Well and there's small shit like Dante stealing his toys when they were kids but knowing how autistic Vergil is he's still probably mad about that.

it's either
>story is dumb because it's dmc
or
>story is deep and you don't understand it
every time
story is just not well executed. perhaps dlc will fix it

>Thank you, Nero
Did you completely miss that or something? Fucking moron.

Attached: 1552847899602.jpg (1200x900, 566K)

1) That's overblown and 3 showed that they could be rivals without outright hating each other.
2) Dante only thwarted Vergil in 3 and Vergil accepted his loss when he chose to stay in the Underworld
3) The story has shown that neither of them are that shallow before

Then why didn't the story make that a point of contention?. The only moment it happens is during the fight with Urizen 3 in game with a dialogue that can be interrupted. It's badly written and poorly executed in 5. The final 2 missions were such an important part of the story and they end it with "Haha, You lost to your son. We'll cut off the Quilphoth root. Bye".

Meant for this guy

>What is V
You're an idiot.

>however, it's right back to same old vergil
No. The entire nature of the final conflict is completely different.
As a reminder. DMC3 Vergil would have killed Dante the moment he revived. The only reason he didn't do so after Vergil 1 in DMC3 was because he was held back by Arkham.

He's more Nelo Angelo in that regard than he was DMC3 Vergil.

"Same old" Vergil would have killed him.
There's a big difference between this Vergil
youtu.be/eu4gnhqgcbk?t=228
who sticking to his convictions and his single minded pursuit of power was ready to kill his own brother.
annnd
youtube.com/watch?v=3PqBYIFaBv4
Who was riding out the decision he helped cause to its end. While acting on the only desire that kept him alive and was the reason V decided to merge back with Urizen to begin with.

Now this is all entirely speculation. But given what we know about V as an individual, it's entirely plausible that had he successfully defeated Dante, he would have went to hell to sever those roots to begin with.

At any rate to help draw distinctions between the two
3 Vergil: Would rather die than compromise after defeat
5 Vergil: Would accept defeat as a condition for compromise.

I aint' saying the story is even close to 3's level. But it's not nearly as bad as you might think it is user.
Lastly for Vergil to truly redeem himself, he had to do it under his own power. V is only a fragment of that individual. One that is almost entirely of regret. That redemption is already a foregone conclusion.

>Mission 10 on SoS
Ok. How the fuck so you S-Rank this shit? The fury's and Necromancer's keep fucking up my scores.

Because they made it a point in 3.

>Dante, the fucking protagonist of the series
not anymore

I wish people would stop with the tree meme. Yes, it grows naturally. You need human blood to bear the fruit. Mundus likely fed it sacrifices in hell when he consumed the fruit. But Vergil opening the portal caused it to sprout into Redgrave and he (Urizen) fed humans to it so it can bear fruit again. He still killed hundreds of thousands of people within the course of a month and planned to lay waste to everything. I like Vergil but let’s not pretend he’s a dindu nuffin.

When did cancerous storyfags infect DMC? Christ, go play some JRPGs, you fucking autists.

>durr vergil being redeemed is bad
what, did you fags want him to be a villain again for no reason?

avoid optionals. Farm rank with RG for like 30 seconds before you end those short as shit fights.

Also if you're having problems with the Fury just spin at him with cerberus and you'll parry everything, every time. Judeccas need to be stoned with fists and then RI'd.

>have to go to the underworld to sever it's roots

So what the hell where the "roots" on the surface we were severing? It didn't seem to make any difference. The tree and the fruit continued to grow anyway.

Where are the fucking dance gifs

if this is it why even bother with this story ? i just want to play the game that would essentially come now (which i was expecting after dmc3)

why do they blue ball me so much ? i dont give a shit about nero. why do i have to suffer dante 0.5 for "le new genration bullshit" ? get me the game that continues dmc 3 with dante and vergil going all out in hell or vergil comming back with some powercrept bullshit demon from hell. or dante actively going to hell to search for him. or the whole game beeing focused on him getting out of hell. or new characters taht are actually their own and not dante 0.5 meme son.

damn it man... i liked dmc 5 a lot but it just makes me boil when i think about it

Attached: boiling.gif (420x236, 615K)

>Mundus likely fed it sacrifices in hell when he consumed the fruit.
Don't know why he would do that. For one the tree naturally grows into the human world. For two the Human AND the demon world were connected and stayed connected only AFTER Sparda separated well into Mundus' reign. Mundus only became king after eating the fruit.

We could infer that him fucking up the world in that way is where Sparda drew the line.

Qliphoth is a tree that grows in the underworld

>made me hate Vergil
DMC5 made me hate DMC as a whole.

Sorry I had an autism attack and typed what I was reading earlier. Yeah, that’s what I meant. But basically the point of my post is Vergil has caused some massive structure to rise up out of the ground twice which led to the death of thousands of people.

>Yea Forums is too retarded for a fucking DMC story
Geez. I can only imagine what this place was like when 4 came out. Probably had several retards arguing how Nero is totally not Vergil's son and other autistic shit.

>That's overblown and 3 showed that they could be rivals without outright hating each other.
So did 5.
>Dante only thwarted Vergil in 3
True, but he still thwarted him and ruined his life's ambition since he was a kid
>The story has shown that neither of them are that shallow before
No, it shows that they are exactly that shallow. Did you forget about Lady's monologue at the beginning.

It's a big tree

based

Yes where Vergil has a different motivation. Why not repeat it when it's so important here? 5 is like if you made Dante crack a joke after losing Vergil in 3.

don't they share the same face? wasn't that one of the main things about the two of them being identical twins?

No no user, cute.

Attached: D18VLy1VYAEhvDx.png (846x900, 459K)

It's not 2008 anymore, bro. Hating Nero is no longer popular.

thank you for this, i couldn't quite put into words but I loved DMC5 for this. I very much liked the way the stakes changed towards the end of the game. I really like the happy ending of this game a lot, I don't know why everyone else hates it so much.

are you retarded? in 5 Dante gets Vergil back for good and knows the human world has a new protector in Nero, of course he'd be happy

i actually liked V a lot. its the fact that nero gets pushed into the center that botheres me. why not make dmc 4 dante focused and nero take the side role that dante took so players can decide wheather or not they want him in the center of the next game ? like with V. i liked the gameplay a lot and even his design stopped bothering me pretty quick. i wouldnt mind a new character in the next game that develops his gameplay at all.

DMC has always tried to be realistic stop with your low quality bait.
And Vergil is handsome wtf.

Don't know what that says about you. Lords of Shadow 2 came out and I still play Castlevania 3 and Adventure Rebirth monthly and there's far more to hate about that game than this game which to you is mostly mediocre.
But to each his own

My problem isn't that Vergil is redeemed. It's how they redeemed him with the most shallowest shit ever after giving him such a shallow motivation.

The game says it grows upside down. What would be the roots of a normal tree are instead tentacles that seek out humans and human blood.

Attached: 1523859224622.jpg (392x300, 28K)

Not him, but no they are still twins but no identical anymore. They don't share the same model either.

He could be happy while acknowledging Vergil's bullshit. The fight itself is based on shallow ground. Hurr Durr I wanna beat Dante since he buttblasted me before Hurr Durr. Tell me how I can root for a stupid villian like that. At least I can root for the obsessed asshole that wants to cover his childhood trauma.

Yeah I like 5 a lot but his story just seems completely pointless and it makes him out as a moody brat that can’t let go of a grudge. Not to mention his cold factory is taken to a needlessly high level. He seems like a character designed to have depth but has none in 5.

Attached: D1PeTZWVsAAvsU8.jpg (700x1244, 93K)

>Why not repeat it when it's so important here?
So you're basically just a nostalgiafagging retard who wanted 5 to be nothing more than a glorified remake of 3. I can safely discard your opinion from this point on.

can't really take him serious with this weird new face
nu-vergil is ugly as FUCK

Attached: Untitled.png (253x127, 70K)

>somebody summons something that does something bad
Isn't exactly an uncommon plotpoint and this series runs through this shit
Of course I'd probably be arguing semantics but
1: Mundus arrives via hellgate
2: Argosax arrives via Arius
3: Tower arrives via Vergil
4: True Hell gate arrives via Agnus. Saviour arrives via Sanctus et all
5: Tree arrives via Urizen

Like don't get me wrong, I get ya. But the only DMC that's environment wasn't the case of some summoning ritual was 4.

except he's not supposed to be the villain, Urizen was the villain you mong

>it makes him out as a moody brat that can’t let go of a grudge
3 already did that

>Tell me how I can root for a
Wait. So you rooted for Vergil in 3?

I can't beat Vergil as Dante on SoS without him killing me. Fucking hell, DMD is going to be a nightmare. I don't remember DMC4 or 3 being as difficult as this.

Attached: 1307561216114.jpg (457x396, 17K)

>has none in 5.
He has plenty of depth and it isn't even subtle. It's hammered into your face so you have zero excuse for not getting it aside from being a sub-70 IQ mong.

Are there sales numbers yet? I thought the first week ones should be up by now

Your a faggot

Yes. Let's not do anything since something did it before even though the new game already did it in an earlier fight and obviously needed it to be done again. Next thing you're going to tell me is that Ryu shouldn't have a hadouken and that DMC should get rid of juggling.

Vergil was given a lot more depth and characterisation in this game through V, he's a much more nuanced and emotionally complex Vergil and is a better character for it

Left unironically looks better than right.

Attached: D0U0EAzUYAUhoWv.jpg (967x1368, 285K)

>I can't beat Vergil as Dante on SoS without him killing me
>without him killing me

No but I could've. I understood his views.

Well, The story acted like he's responsible for the most part. Dante's dialogue showed that he was angry. You can't refute that he made Urizen with his own will.

That's what I thought, but then they jump off the top/human world bit down to the bottom/demon world bit so they can destroy the "roots". I would have thought destroying the "roots" on the human world bit would be enough to kill it, and the game seems to say as much, but nope.

Wut, literally no ? If you don't like it, it's okay but to say that he is ugly is complete bullshit. He is hot as fuck in my opinion. Apart from Trish who could have been far better, no one is ugly in DMC5.

What are you even going on about now?

Be patient. Don't attack or even switch off trick unless you KNOW you'll get away with it. You'll feel like a bit of a bitch but it works and you'll start finding more chances to get in damage.

You said it was nostalgiafagging when it's clearly not, retard. I wouldn't have cared if they didn't bring back Nero, Lady or Trish but the story definitely needed that point hammered when it's so important to establish in that moment.

V wasn't shallow at all and his motivation makes sense considering what he's gone through since 3.

Makes sense, my smugness got the better of me.

They're called roots in the human world because the tree works upside down. What supports the tree completely is the base in the underworld. To put the tree in hibernation again and close the portal, they first need to go to the underworld and destroy the supports.

>the game literally shows you that Urizen doesn't even have Vergil's memories and is just his evil side personified, while V is meant to embody Vergil at his most vulnerable and human state, he recounts Vergil's past actions and shows a great deal of regret and sorrow, once he's reunited with Vergil he goes to save the human world
>"guys he was clearly meant to be the villain"
imagine being too dense for a fucking DMC story of all things

I know it doesn't attribute to story but if I can play willingly with my friends that gives the game points in my regard.

Thank you

V is cute and gone forever

>equip 8 ragtimes
>s rank literally anything
Ragtime is broken tier strong, as time manipulation powers always are

They know we want to play as Vergil. I can only hope this means they know we don't just want him available to run through a few of the main story missions like in 3 and 4SE and they actually give us a DLC campaign for him.

You'd think so, considering how even Ninja Theory managed that and DMC5 feels a lot like Itsuno showing them how it's done.

>I understood his views.
Oh? Explain his views inside the confines of the game.

I'm more interested in the feeling of delight he brought everyone. He's just freaking cool.

Attached: tumblr_po7tcve3EQ1qhjl6ko1_400.jpg (400x518, 74K)

Are you genuinely this fucking dumb? Dante even lambasts Vergil for losing the last shred of his humanity before finally defeating him, while V laments to Trish that he was wrong for rejecting his human side and only focusing on power. The point you're crying about was hammered, you're just too braindead to realise it.

But he's older than Dante.

True, especially because you can't separate the remix from how it kicks in with Nero's best FUCK YOU

I get hung up on why he looks the way he does considering who he really is, but he really was a great addition to the story. He adds a lot of depth to Vergil's character.

It's not!London so it probably was millions.

Dante tries to kill him in 3 and he doesn't get to hang out with the crew like nothing happened.

Hammered against Urizen, not Vergil when Vergil was the same situation.

Vergil needed his father's power to cover for his complex of not being strong enough to be able to save her mother. The story made great lengths to imply it even going as far as constantly have Vergil touch his mother's amulet and reach for it instead of reaching for Force Edge after losing to Dante.

He was iconic as a villain, not as a hero for fuck sake. Iconic villains are best whne they're kept as villains, turning them heroic never fucking works.

Nero is in 4 and especially 5 because of the writer.

Should've done DMC4 like DMC5 where you play a few missions with Nero then you play a few with Dante and you switch back and forth until the story is over.

>Hammered against Urizen, not Vergil when Vergil was the same situation.
Why did it need to be hammered against Vergil when he was already more accepting of his human side at that point? It was Urizen who was purely demonic and power-hungry, who encapsulated the worst parts about Vergil in 3, and he lost to a Dante who fully embraces humanity.

The complex was more subtle in 3. It's less to do with his mom, more to do with protecting his agency. His mom was the catalyst but not the source of his drive for power.

>more accepting of his human side at that point
How?

What is Darth Vader.

>to save his mother
Not implied m8. In fact we he hear them talk about their mother all of once (technically twice)
When he clutches his amulet he talks about how it belongs to a son of Sparda. When he falls to the underworld he talks about it's because it was his fathers home.

When he "kills" Arkham it's because he showed concern for his daughter and chastised him as being weak because he cared about his family. Saying that the reason his pursuit of power was incomplete was because of those familial bonds.

>instead of reaching for Force Edge
He drops Force Edge because he lost the fight.
Furthermore in the epilogue he AGAIN talks about his father. Vergil doesn't have or talk about his mother at all. And when Arkham mixes his mixed blood it's a point of major contention for him.

Everything you surmise about Vergil are the clues we pieced together with the additional material that came outside of the game AND the one (and only line) talking about "without power you can't protect anything, not even yourself" Vergil in 3's motive is only to gain power. And they're never specific about why nor let him imply it in any way.

>How?
Come on, dude. Did you seriously ignore all his time as V, who has all of Vergil's memories and thoughts? How about the fact that he has let go of his power trip and actively helps to cut down the Qlipoth? Or the fact that he thanked Nero after the time he spent with him as V?

Vader didn't live past his redemption. You know what people like about Vader as well? When he's a villain. That's what people fanboy over. The big intimidating badass with black armour, red lightsaber, cybernetics and a deep seated hate towards himself and others.

People do not fanboy over Vader because of his redemption. Villains suck if they're kept around after being redeemed, it's a fact.

I hope they throw us a bone in the future and don't just retire him, he's too fun.

>use rorb revive and kill him in one combo

I think the game is purposefully trying to make me guity about that revive

He wasn't a villain, he was a rival. Not the same thing. He's still a rival to Dante. They're competing against each other in the final cutscene.

He can't open a portal to escape hell. Fairly certain they retconned it, and only now only in certain scenarios can it happen.

Even if yamato doesn't work portals from hell pop up every other week in DMC.

Can you do anything to Vergil after you clash swords with him, or do you just have to get the fuck out of the way?

it'll help with the salty runback

Vader's redemption is what made him into the best characrer in all of Star Wars. Without it, he would have just been a remembered as a pretty cool henchman and nothing more. Look at Vegeta from DBZ, do you think he would have been anywhere near as beloved by fans if he never got redeemed? What you're proposing only works if the villain shows no redeemable qualities and outright likes being a villain, like Frieza and Joker. Otherwise, they just become boring and overstay their welcome ala Team Rocket. Vergil was always more of an antagonist than an outright villain, so keeping him the exact same would have made no sense.

Pretty disappointed with the end. Vergil being the cause of everything seems to just retread the 3rd games plot when there is so much we don't know about the demon or human world. Vergil should've appeared simply taking advantage of a situation that was happening because of another baddie, I feel like this plot just ruins the ending of DMC3.

DMC5 just made you understand what a shithead he is. Too many people saw Vergil through rose tinted glasses and even thought after DMC4 that his reasons for acquiring power had to do with protecting Nero and his mother but in reality he's just a shithead.

But everything in 3 was caused by Arkham.

They really need to make a good Vergil DLC, because 5 Vergil feels more like DmC than DMC3.
We need to see him meeting Kyrie, him explaining being alive, him telling Dante everything, etc.

who /jelly/ in here?

No it wasn't, they worked together. Arkham proposed the idea, but Vergil agreed to it and played an active role.

>4:16PM
>Bedtime

Vergil is hardcore

He said that to Lady after Arkham feigned his death and said he was possessed and deceived by Vergil

Vergil was literally an unwilling pawn. Arkham kept the entire truth from him and USED him. Vergil didn't know he need himself, his brother, and Lady. Manipulated him, Dante, and Lady. And would have technically won if his shitty existence could even have handled Sparda's power.

>unwilling
*unwitting

DMC5 Vergil looks more like Nero than Dante. Not saying that's bad but I like them better as identical twins, and to all who say "twins don't even look the same anymore after 30 years" or something: If you mod Dante's head onto Vergil he still looks different enough to Dante (at least while emoting) thanks to Dan's chiseled jaw.

Btw, Is Dante's slicked hair from the taunt just Vergil's hair or is it a new mesh? It looked better in the BP vid.

Vergil was fine with bringing demons into the human world. The final plan matters a lot less when everyone is dead and the city demolished.

Foolishness, OP. Foolishness.

So part of Vergil actually cares for Lady.
Because she has a fucked up family as well or because she likes Dante?

>5's story was written for DmC fans
Ftfy.

That doesn't even make sense, Barry. 5 goes out of its way to shit on DmC whenever it can.

>5 goes out of its way to shit on DmC whenever it can.
Nope. It takes inspiration from it. 5 is DmC done right. Stay cucked!

Part of me wishes the camera would still go nuts during Overdrive

Maybe he just feels affinity for her since she was there for the Temenigru incident, or because she had the guts to come after his ass back then (even if she was tricked into it)

Or maybe he just thinks Lady is a nice person

Give me one reason why the devil breakers shouldnt work like dantes styles on the dpad

Combine/ expand them, let the arm transform instead of having to switch. I understand that the whole fragility aspect of them gives them a lot of personality and its a legitimate mechanic but dont deny the fact that ultimately it comes down to which option lends itself to better long term variety and that option isnt the one in the game

The whole reason why people feel iffy about Nero as a legacy character is because he objectively doesnt replace Dante as long as his options arent exactly comparable but at the same time completely his own. The only hurdle still in the way is the inherently limiting nature of the red queen and its exceed system but if you did something like combined gerberaGP01 and punchline into one "style", you would already surpass the original trickster

same thing with something like taking the pulse from the basic gerbera and giving that to overture. Now let people royalguard things while the battery builds for gigantic releases that fill the screen with electricity

People don't realize that too much of a good thing diminishes it. One reason Vergil works so well in DMC3 is because he's not shoved in your face all the time, there's another antagonist and the few times Vergil does show up he plays off of every other character without trying to be the star of the show. In DMC5 the whole plot builds up to him with Vergil being both Urizen and V the whole way through and then when he reforms into the Vergil we know there's no build-up before you fight him twice in a row and after Urizen was removed as the antagonistic force there's no sense of tension since you know Vergil is changed and he's only fighting Dante because they both have autism. It's unquestionably a dumb ending that diminishes the character

Because Nero shouldn't play like Dante
which makes me wonder what would happen if they decided to retire Dante

>One reason Vergil works so well in DMC3 is because he's not shoved in your face all the time
did we play the same game?

The breakers are inherently different from styles since they are a weapon of their own whereas every style with Dante "augments" some aspect of him outside of maybe royal guard which adds a block/ counter ability

Dante IS devil may cry. His kit is fundamentally what the series is built around and known for. Its exactly why Nero's base kit is just a different version of what Dante can do, even more so in 5 with his own killer bee. If they truly want to make Nero the legacy character and the new face of devil may cry, they cant fundamentally change what a gigantic portion of the fanbase likes about the gameplay and say "its a different character". If that character is your only option then he needs to objectively replace Dante for everyone outside of sentimental value. If Nero's options have any "but" that makes them lacking in comparison to Dante in ANY way, people will want Dante and outright not buy the game. Nero is fucking great in 5 but I know he can be even better because of the way he already evolved from 4 to 5. He is in his DMC3 dante phase now

I wanna fuck Vergil and make him go "what kind of power is this" while I sit on his face and make him remember what sex is

Nero is designed to be the beginner friendly character. That's why you start with him in 4 and 5 and only unlock Dante halfway through. Immediately handing the player something like style swapping would be rough on newcomers.
But that's also why the prospect of Nero replacing Dante full time is a bad idea unless they completely change the way Nero plays, and even then, there's no reason (other than economics) not to have Dante playable as some kind of unlockable mode.

There definitely needs to be some kind of unlockable arm swapping though. Maybe have it be its own exclusive mode with its own scoring system with higher standards. I fucking hate the fact that I have literally every move for Nero, yet I STILL can't stop sinking red orbs into him if I plan on using more than one arm for an entire mission, and that's assuming I never break one by accident. It's fucking stupid.

>SEX? WHAT IS SEX?
>Well brother, sex is when-

Attached: WI7JAWA.jpg (600x573, 27K)

would swiping on the PS4 touchpad work for changing breakers?

Vergil in DMC5 was terrible

Places a portal directly above and below ane enemy that tracks them, so even if you drop a juggle they keep falling and can be picked back up

So basically, the idea that you convey is that you like DMC3 Vergil because "he's not shoved in your face" and you dislike it because he is to much in your face in 5 in your opinion. Does that mean that you prefer the Vergil you fantasize about and not the real Vergil ? Because seeing more of his emotional state, through V and the fact that he did change at the end of the game even if it's not drastic (that would not be realistic to be honest) ruin what you envisioned about him ? It's seems to be the real problem considering what you just said. The problem is not the character in itself but what you expected of him.

That is some shit taste. Vergil is better than ever now.

there is such a clear room for improvement too, they just have to add more moves to his breakers, since some of them are really one note right now.
Also they really should have added crazy combos back into the game for dante

Because breakers are literally the equivalent of items in previous games but far more powerful and relatively cost free.

The conflict between V and Urizen is literally the most interesting aspect of DMC5's story.

It expanded on Vergil's character in a great way.

Vergil didn't do anything wrong it was all Urizens fault

>Immediately handing the player something like style swapping would be rough on newcomers.

And how exactly is this an issue

give the devil breakers as boss unlocks just like in DMC5 but just keep adding them to the dpad, especially if their positioning on it is at least by default locked to a pattern like the styles, a new player will start to learn them at the pace they get unlocked without being confused

>There definitely needs to be some kind of unlockable arm swapping though. Maybe have it be its own exclusive mode with its own scoring system with higher standards.
The scoring is completely broken atm and I dont think an arm switcher would really affect it in any meaningful way, Dante has a far harder time going to SSS and staying there while actually farming style points without killing everything compared to Nero who can shit out retarded style building AOE moves and one button attacks like max act streak and charged shot. Nero already has an easier time ranking things/fighting in the postgame than before it because of his returning/ new mechanics, giving you a breaker switcher is just another evolution

Personally im hoping for an expansion pack to the game that takes more advantage of the "customize" function every character already has. Outside of simple quality of life things like adding more loadout and magazine slots, add actual new moves and tools for each character. Designing a full devil arm/ gun for Dante would probably be a huge effort so outside of that, you could easily give him quicksilver since it already exists in the game. Nero could get a breaker switcher. V should get the brunt of the upgrades since he needs them the most

how stupid do you have to be to write this good lord man get help

Attached: benny.jpg (225x225, 10K)

and also completely unrelated but someone explain punchline in depth for me

sometimes attacks are coming out that I dont think I recognize. The movelist only says what buttons to use for it and it seems like the devil breaker input does an ollie, shoot does a double tre and attack boosts/ does various directional flips in the air. Is there something else or more hidden directionals/ context sensitive properties that I havent figured out?

>And how exactly is this an issue
Despite what some autists may believe, being accessible to new people isn't some horrible crime against video games. I don't think they handle it perfectly, but obviously overwhelming new players with four styles and four weapons is better left avoided in most cases. The characters build up in complexity until you reach Dante and you have a firm enough grasp on the game to explore his more complex options.

The issue is more that the mission structure is somehow even worse than 4's. The fact that Dante does the same missions as Nero ends up working in the game's favor on replays because, once you've cleared a difficulty, you can just pick whatever mission you want for either character and know you're getting the same basic experience. Whereas here, I'll never get to fight the first boss as Dante outside of maybe Bloody Palace. That fight will be forever locked behind Nero's less interesting moveset because they didn't think to include character swapping on NG+.

So ultimately the issue isn't Nero lacking complexity, because he's supposed to lack complexity, but rather that the game lacks options to avoid playing him if you want something more complex.

Arm swapping out of combat would be fine imo
Or just a longer animation like Nero swapping the arm off on his belt
Actually maybe that could be like an extra incentive to go for SSS like Dante's SDT shenanigans, arm swapping would have a long animation normally but could be done instantly at SSS

>Despite what some autists may believe, being accessible to new people isn't some horrible crime against video games.
>give the devil breakers as boss unlocks just like in DMC5 but just keep adding them to the dpad

Dante had 2 guns and 2 devil arms to switch through in 3 and nobody was confused, even if Nero had 8 breakers to switch at all times he would have less options to manage than Dante does in DMC4 let alone maxed out Dante in 5

Nero doesnt lack complexity, what he "lacks" in 5 is an instant way to access that pool like Dante can. Nero is EXACTLY like DMC3 Dante in terms of design philosophy, you have very strong and very complex tools but you cant cycle through everything he has for every single move you would possibly want to do at all times

>That fight will be forever locked behind Nero's less interesting moveset
There are rumors about an additional mode that lets you play missions with other characters and even if you didnt, at least Nero and Dante both have good bosses unlike some dogshit like 4 where there is one good boss in the game and it requires 70 floors of BP for Dante to fight

sounds very retarded and even more limiting than the current system where you can FADC forwards on the magazine

the entire point of a breaker switcher is to access everything instantly and build combos out of them. Break age could just be a judgement cut end styled super that drains all DT

Anybody got an explanation for why Balrog looks just like Urizen?

>muh eyes

THAT, is not my concern.

Attached: 1523897534734.gif (624x335, 2.55M)

People who didn't like the implications of Vergil's personality and character development in DMC5 are people who unironically just wants him to be Devil May Cry's Sephiroth.

Prove me wrong.

Attached: 3324242234.jpg (784x608, 92K)

His entire schtick was atonement for unleashing Urizen in the first place. He spent a month as V saving the people of the city before Nero was ready to go.
Then as Vergil, he could've chosen to continue fighting Nero and Dante if he wanted to, but decides to close off the tree from the rest of the world and leave one of his most treasured keepsakes behind for his son.

I didn't like his character in 5 and I wanted him to not be in 5 at all. I wanted him to be fucking dead so we could move on to new things.

Grow up fucking retard, he was butchered

DMC5 ruined Vergil for me forever.

>All these people trying to pin the actions of Urizen on Vergil.

Urizen and V are separate entities born out of different sides of Vergil's personality. You can't just blame one side of his personality when his other side was trying to stop him. It's some fucking thought crime-tier bullshit. Imagine if you got angry at a co-worker and one side of yourself just wants to stick a knife in his throat, should you be held responsible because one side of you felt that way? Even though the other side of you knows it's wrong?

That's just fucked up. A man can't be held responsible for what one side of his personality did, people are more complex than that.

Attached: 1553048219920.png (401x351, 194K)

We got new things. Vergil just happened to be there too.

But hey while we're at it, lets remove Dante, Nero, and everything else familiar with the games and just play as V without his summons, since those summons were from a previous game too.

>Vergil just happened to be there
You mean was the main villain, again, raising a tower from the underworld, again, and the final boss was nearly identical to the last time he was the final boss, just for fanservice purposes?

I didn't say Vergil can't be an unlockable character or something. In fact it's stupid he's not and will probably be sold to us. But his character arc is finished. It's done. He died. Get over him. Leave his story relevance in the past and let the team make a new character we can enjoy instead.
If the team had despised change as much as DMC fans seem to, 3's Vergil would never have existed, because he was basically an entirely new character that only vaguely resembled Nelo Angelo. All Vergil being in 5 the same as before means is that an infinite number of equally enjoyable characters WEREN'T created with those resources.

Beside the fact that your retarded strawmanning really just means you don't understand what I'm talking about and think moving on thematically is equivalent to betraying the franchise somehow.

Attached: 1546580975886.png (767x847, 455K)

Saying he's DmC is either a hyperbole or just bad memory.

I think on the topic of DLC, we're gonna get his campaign as coop DLC. We know they're capable of coop, they're gonna use Bloody Palace to test active lobbies, and we'll get them destroying the tree. Unfortunately, I'm also betting this is the easy option for them because hell environments are really easy to cut n paste.

Play smarter, nerd. Be patient. Learn to evade before you learn to attack. The windows to get in damage are actually really obvious, you just need to make sure you know where they are first.

What's the difference? 3 and 5 basically have the same story

You have no grasp on the concept of supply and demand.

>B-BUT MONEY
Yes, continue arguing that bad artistic decisions are justifiable because capitalism. That's a fantastic defense and totally doesn't show that you have no reason beyond the fact that fan pandering moves units at the cost of stagnation.

Vergil's change of heart was in part due to his time as V. Those experiences helped bring clarity and deepened his human connection, which is why Vergil's "suddenly" much calmer after Urizen and V merge. You can view your time with V as the experiences you're looking for.

i can rg/evade and counter anything that he throws at me before the jet form
after that one miss and he obliterates me in one combo, the flying swords, the judgement cuts spam mid air, the teleports on my head, any of that i can counter somewhat reliably, but if i miss just one thing he fucking deletes me and sends my corpse back to the tree screen

Attached: 1545602935744.jpg (631x631, 58K)

His RNG tentacles are the worst thing in this game.

>trying the high risk counter strat instead of just basic dodges into stingers and guns
C'mon my guy. Slow your roll. Learn exactly how many times each of his attacks gets used after the transformation and you'll be fine, he's always vulnerable after he does something 2-4 times depending on the move.

Attached: D1o62arWkAEwsQA.jpg (1055x2000, 235K)

but thats not stylish

I think this is the one thing up for debate -- did Urizen free the Tree or did the Tree free Vergil? Since it's unclear how Vergil escaped hell to begin with, I'm leaning toward the latter. Vergil escaped when the tree punctured through to our plane and, in a bid for survival since our plane seems to be causing some kind of deterioration and to achieve his goal of surpassing Dante, splits his human and demon sides.

It's only a bad artistic decision in your mind because you're a salty faggot who didn't get what you want. Fans like Vergil, Capcom knows this and so it's simply a good business decision on their part to give fans what they want. So long as people want Vergil, you're gonna see more of him. Either get over that or fuck off.

Honestly he just has a bit too much health. It becomes a stamina battle to see how long before you slip up and immediately lose half your health. With healing items it's not so bad but when your only recourse is Gold Orbs or a restart, it's stupid frustrating.

Well it's exactly what I did on SoS and I got an S rank for it.
I was trying to get ballsy with it too, but then I decided to play it like DMC1 and actually treat my guns as a legitimate damage option and it worked out far better.

You say while admitting that you and many fans have been "salty faggots" had they just left a dead character dead and kept him as a non-canon unlockable character lmao

Attached: 1553154363309m.jpg (1024x576, 76K)

Fucking this. There are some angles where he looks pudgy but mostly he's a great model. I'm slowly getting over the retcon that they're not longer identical twins but other than that he looks great.

Trish they really fucked up on. Like, bad. It's especially jarring because Lady and Nico are fucking 10/10 in this.

Based.

I understand that some user missed how some characters were before but damn, let's be honest, they are all great apart from Trish.

>Outside of an easily acquired SSJ power up, vergils actions do not change Dante as a person.
>Outside of Dante being FORCED to go against his own ideals and acquire more power to defeat Urizen, he doesn't have to grow or change

Even Urizen is fucking upset that Dante would dare fight him after pulling that hypocritical shit. Imagine having so little story comprehension that you just miss this blatantly obvious shit

Attached: 1457617518690.jpg (641x589, 66K)

It's almost like Dante's only motivation at the start of 3 is beating Vergil for petty reasons and that being Vergil's motivation at the start of 5 shows how far he's fallen.

>Can't argue back so just strawmans
lel

Well thank you for admitting you didn't play the game.

Based

>V always meant to return back to Vergil to survive
Nope. Pretty much everything about the prologue (Including the secret ending) plus Before the Nightmare indicate V just wanted Urizen dead, and V frequently mentions his lamentations over the sins of his past.

Yeah V only changed his mind after talking to Trish after Mission 11

Honestly, it seems more like he didn't even intended to do the fusion dance with Urizen at the end. He just wanted to finish him off same as he did against every other demon he fought. It'd be pretty in-character too, given Vergil being a near-suicidal moron is a trait that's been established as far back as 3 when he just bullrushes Mundus.

Nice headcanon, fujos.

Nigger I have a penis
The plot and characters are not fucking complicated, this isn't some deep reading, the game spoonfeeds you so fucking hard about what the deal with V/Urizen/Vergil is

It's not the games fault, you can't into subtle story telling autismo.

He did nothing wrong, because V and Urizen were two separate characters who in way represented Vergil.

Isn't that what all the retarded Vujo posters are saying, anyway?

>headcanon
Disprove a single portion of it. Why doesn't V follow after Nero when he beats him in the secret ending to fuse with Urizen? Why does Before the Nightmare specifically state he's trying to protect humans? Why does he specifically call Urizen "Evil" and then in another cutscene blurt out "Where evil lurks, I must destroy" if not in reference to Urizen?

I don't even like V beyond comedy factor, but you're a dipshit if you think any of what I said is headcanon and not explicitly stated plot points.

>The plot and characters are not fucking complicated
And yet you completely fail to comprehend it.

His plan from the beginning was to take Urizen out before he could wake up

Attached: D0r3x2mXgAY9x2O.jpg (625x571, 108K)

Weird, this implies V at least knew that Nero was his son. Vergil seems either unaware or in denial once they've merged in the game.

He could tell Nero was a descendant of Sparda, he mentions it after the Goliath fight too
Now maybe he assumed Nero was Dante's kid or a distant cousin or something

I want to know how Vergil is so likable despite being the epitome of a *teleports behind you* katana edgelord.
On paper it shouldn't work.

Because he's actually a pretty complex character. Also memes.

He didn't know Nero was his son.

Attached: jesus.jpg (587x69, 16K)

>discover that you can spam bringer knuckle by mashing O throughout the entite channel of nero's showdown
> abuse this to melt SoS Vergil's entire healthbar before he even devil triggers

This DT puts a smile on my face every time. Man I loved this fight.
youtu.be/KKWYSL25ySc?t=107

Vergil was apparently observing the events of DMC4 at one point, so he likely knew that Nero at least had a bloodline connection given Yamato works so well wtih him.

Because he's fallible. He talks and acts haughty but he sounds like a dweeb with a nasally voice, and everyone around him calls him out for trying too hard when he's younger.

Same reason why Wesker is likable. They are one and the same

Attached: 4828E0F4-B91C-4792-8336-B5C609D947DF.jpg (1565x1732, 462K)

How do you promotion onto Nightmare as Dante? I managed to do it once accidentally but can't figure out how to do it again.

Because he's a massive dweeb at the same time. Just listen to the argument he has with Dante over the amulet in 3 again, they sound like a couple of 5 year olds.
All of his major openings in his fights are when he tries to strike a fucking pose as he slowly sheaths his katana.

Unironically because he's motivated.
He's doing what he does for a reason beyond being edgy and is clearly determined to get it done. He doesn't kill people just because he's edgy, shown by the fact that he never kills without a reason.

Katana edgelords are generally "tortured" antiheroes who make it clear they're sadbois, whereas Vergil is a complete asshole villain who hides his pain while still subtly showing why he's doing what he's doing.

Attached: red-pills.jpg (1200x800, 805K)

Checkpoint and restart need to be on the same screen as revive, FUCK.

Because despite being that he's also an absolute loser whose entire character is based around losing to Dante and being a whiny bitch about it.

That sort of character is annoying because they're stronger than the protagonist and always obnoxiously smug about it but Vergil is obnoxiously smug while being weak and a pussy which is funny.

I've always wondered why I'm fond of both Wesker and Vergil.

True

Looks like an older Andrew Garfield.

You should take some. Maybe you'll see the light.

Name 1 (ONE) legitimate business that accepts red orbs as currency

Dante tries to save him in 3. Vergil cuts Dante's hand when Dante reaches to save him

That's because DMC3 is a good game
DMC5 is just fanservice for 4fags and nero babies

You are wrong actually. I am fan of the series since DMC1 and I love DMC5.

>causes a city wide massacre
>kills children
>destroys the city in the process
>straight up creates a demon lord
i-it was all brotherly banter bro

IM GOING TO SAY IT

Attached: 1522771170665.png (601x799, 578K)

>DMC5
>Vergil is Nero's dad who he wants to protect
FTFY

Both of these are a vast improvement on whats already in the game.
How did capcom fuck it up THAT bad?

You really think those (OP)
are an improvement ? Jesus Christ.

Ok what the fuck did they add on the latest patch, I updated and continue my SoS game today and there is a stutter on every cutscene and it never lag or stutter on cutscene before.

More denuvo.

Why does the game have so many loading screens? REmake 2 was perfect in this regard, after your one loading even cutscenes are basically instantly skippable

I mean sure I understand that the levels are separate in DMC so one loading per mission start is expected but the fact that they actually thought the tradeoff of animated backgrounds with loadings in the menus was worth it makes me wonder who exactly deserves to get fired. How the fuck can the menus even be so intensive on the hardware? A fucking million games have animated menus, usually the image just zooms and shifts around with sound effects playing when you enter submenus. Now its menu, loading, customize screen, loading, mission

It's p shit honestly yeah. No idea why the fuck going into and out of customize has to be a loading screen. I can see in my mind already the idea of the camera swooping over from the inside of the van over to Nico's desk and it'd be so much better.

>all this time he assumed Nero was Dante's kid
oh boy

Its probably how they managed to get the game running at 60 fps on consoles

Attached: DevilMayCry5 2019-03-21 19-10-36-27.jpg (3840x2160, 1.19M)

i'm fine with it because the customize screen gives me a boner

>imagine Dante getting pinned against a red tree wall, that's the same color of his fucking crayzee ass character who lusts for moms because he's literally an unholy Oedipal wretch with no dignity whatsoever, while at the same time the quarter-demon whoreson who suckled wannabe pope cock and had so much Sith jizz protein splurged inside his guts it turned him unga, is being diddled by his daddy up his puffy devil pussy, so hard the term "pull my devil trigger" gets a new meaning, and with his last whoreish, skanky, breaths he coughs up the crusty, hell-cum out his chad jaw, leaving his anus forever surrendered and his devil triggered to the brim

Attached: 1552322503197.png (582x587, 611K)

thanks for the feedback tech illiterate kiddo

the menus are literally more intensive on the hardware than the fucking game and they are most likely FPS unlocked for no reason, the fan is far louder in the menus on the PS4 pro than ingame

It's not Nerdy but she will have to do

Attached: DevilMayCry5 2019-03-21 19-30-46-65.jpg (3840x2160, 2.18M)

And I'm the president of the United States.

You are ?

>get 6k style first fight
>finish next fight SSS being a stylish motherfucker
>lose rating
>attack small fight
>lose rating
>attack red orb bug
>lose rating
They certainly didn't have feeling MOTIVATED in mind with this system.

>Why doesn't V follow after Nero when he beats him in the secret ending to fuse with Urizen
Because it's a fucking easter egg, you utter mong. It's not meant to be taken seriously.
>Why does Before the Nightmare specifically state he's trying to protect humans?
How does him wanting to protect humans imply that he doesn't want to become whole again?
>Why does he specifically call Urizen "Evil" and then in another cutscene blurt out "Where evil lurks, I must destroy" if not in reference to Urizen?
Uniting with Urizen destroys him because he no longer exists at that point
>I don't even like V beyond comedy factor, but you're a dipshit if you think any of what I said is headcanon
It is headcanon and you're a retard.

Why does Vergil even want to fight Dante so badly? Is that his main goal? The only reason he fought him in 3 was to take his amulet, or because his was in the way. He only fought him in 1 because he had to.

Attached: 1552843743667.jpg (595x775, 109K)

Here, take this.

They always fought, his goal is to be better than Dante. He's Cain.

Did DMC5 fail to meet sales expectations?

See:

Absolutely, you could argue if it's the best possible option for vergil in DMC5, but both are an absolute inprovement over what is currently in the game

Interestingly enough, every time Jackpot is said at the end of one of the mainline games, it's with someone else or in rescuing someone else.

>Dante says it after reuniting with Trish
>Says it with his brother in finishing off Arkham
>Nero says it during his final buster on Sanctus while saving Kyrie
>Dante says it again after finally getting his brother back after so long
I like to think that it's kinda symbolic of whoever the MC is showing off what makes them human - their bonds (just like in my japanese animes)

Attached: 1536127035431.png (600x1054, 606K)

Since it's the second best selling on PC, I'll say no. The expectations were never really high to begin with.

got more screens?

>He doesn't like EDM
>He doesn't realize Psycho Siren was one of the most "EDM" tracks in DMC1

>BANG BANG BANG
>DIAHRREA TRIGGER
>BANG BANG BANG
>CLOGGED TOILET MY NIGGER

>Why isn't Dante rich from his demon hunting business?

>buys a building every week
>probably fined out the ass because it's damn near condemned
>constantly has all lights and music on
>spends all his spare change on pizza and bikes

That's why.

At least Nero and Nico were smart enough to keep the business down to a shitty van.

Sorry user I completely disagree, he is really cool in 5. I can understand that some people would have prefered for them to be identical but for my part I have no problem with it.

If Dante was more of a downer, would Vergil like him more instead of believing that his puckish attitude is "proof" that he doesn't care that their mom is dead?

Attached: 1552799250422.jpg (1366x768, 204K)

DMC5 Vergil is best Vergil in both looks and design.

Attached: 1552542160755.png (1024x1024, 365K)

>that cabbage patch doll face
>better

Attached: 1684728185677.jpg (640x360, 32K)

Holy shit, white coat Vergil would look fucking slick!

DMC3 made me love Vergil
DMC5 made me want to fuck Vergil's hole

He is really handsome

hd render when

didn't Itsuno say on twitter that he makes $1400 a month? that's barely above minimum wage in America kek

Dunno hopefully soon

Attached: 1553110759738.jpg (1200x716, 168K)

Dante is his reason for fighting.

Attached: 1552277396989.png (800x450, 250K)

I think it was Kamiya who said something like that.

yuck

Vergil absorbed all the lips in mommy's womb and left nothing for Dante

Nero looks more like dante than he does to vergil

excuse you

>The tree would still grow in the underworld user, but couldn't touch the human world cause sparda sealed of the demon world.
And Vergil made it to earth without the Yamato. There was already a rift that had opened, Vergil and the tree came through.

All conflict past 3 is because he's a sore loser.

Not exactly I think is more of a mix of the too.

stop having shit taste fren

Attached: 1552451522585.png (1024x1024, 373K)

Scum.

Attached: D196v7GUcAE8FMi.jpg (1484x2048, 288K)

DMC 3 is best vergil!

Attached: DMC3 vergil.jpg (2048x772, 282K)

Of course he gave a shit, Vergil is the most bitter fucker around, that's why he cut Dante's hand and fell to hell still believing in his "I NEED MORE POWER" and now having a "FUCK YOU DANTE YOU'RE WRONG" complex.

>>>

Ma dude, do you have a face render png?

He said it in the anime also

Heresy

Gays not allowed

He was best, now he's second best. DMC5 completely one ups absolutely everything about it.

Attached: 1552412311390.jpg (2560x1440, 333K)

>He was best, now he's second best. DMC5 completely one ups absolutely everything about it.
not in my opinion.

Sorry I don't, I'm sure someone can post it though. Hoping we get the full face render soon.

And you're free to have that opinion, even if it's wrong.

I love 3Vergil, but I can't help but to prefer 5Vergil now. When I think Vergil it's his face I think about.

terrible opinions aren't welcome.

Fuck, I forgot to save it

They made his model pretty similar to 3's, I wish they would fix his hair a bit though.

Attached: 1535214140963.gif (300x300, 10K)

Attached: 1552460722743.png (1024x1024, 1.1M)

which is my stance on your opinion.
sounds to me like you are trying to convert sheep into accepting your viewpoint by pretending that you are part of the original fanbase
and who appointed you as the arbiter?
>They made his model pretty similar to 3's
I don't see that in his face. And it's the face I have a problem with the most.
>, I wish they would fix his hair a bit though.
Certainly wouldn't hurt.

There is a mod with Dante's hair if you want. For my part I have no problem with his hair.
