Got my tax return, first thing I did was boot up the old piss 3 and I got this, what am I in for? I heard social links can be a pain in the ass
Got my tax return, first thing I did was boot up the old piss 3 and I got this, what am I in for...
They can but it's a great game. Tartarus can be utter ass though.
Great game although it's my least favorite of the new type ones. Play on normal and don't look up a guide for starters.
Oh also the pink girl third from the right is the best girl.
Don't waste training the guy in the beanie, he's dead weight
The dog is also dead weight, hat kid and actual kid can be useful in some situations but dog is just bad.
Supposed to be a grind fest right?
No. Just 274 floors of the same gameplay. You don't really have to grind at all.
Fun times ahead, OP!
The dog is fine, dudebro isn't required though.
Everyone tells you to hate Yukari because they know she's the best girl
The only useful thing dog learns is Masukukaja which is the worst of the three Kajas. He's also extremely fragile and barely does damage. If you run into anything immune to fire, he's boned.
>wagie gets his cuckfund
>finally buys a 3 year old game
Just be a NEET and have the government give you money every few weeks, retard.
Pure uncut kinography of the highest quality
ps3 version has save issues
backup your save or you will lose it
also a certain date makes the game freeze for about 30 seconds
So hit it raw the first playthrough, gotcha
Unless you follow a guide you probably won't 100% the slinks
Half of the bosses are so easy a dead dog could kill them and the other half are so bullshit you have to pray to fucking christ for a decent chance
Bad team ai
Bad voice acting
Music that sounds great at first but gets old REALLY fast
LOADS of qol changes made in golden and 5 that are absent
Will keep that in mind, thanks for the heads up
They are, but don't worry too much on your first playthrough. Just do what you want.
BABYBABYBABYBABYBABY
It's incredible how hard Rampage Drive is compared to The Priestess.
>Mazio almost oneshots everyone and he barely takes damage
Same goes for all Tartarus bosses until you have a really good setup.
*ruins your game*
oh whoops that's the one from 4 which is far less bullshit
*ruins your run in p3*
The problem with this series is that in order to make the most efficient use of your days you're forced spend at least an hour in the Tartarus/TV world/palace every time you go in. You will listen to the same music track and then the same battle theme until you finally reach the boss and get to advance the story a little.
This is made tolerable because the music is so good and you spend the first half of your time in the new "area" of a Persona game learning all the enemy weaknesses so you're engaged. But then the rest is spent just minimizing resource use so you can make it as far as possible. I would spend like 4 hours running through a dungeon and then spend the next 4 hours doing nothing but dating sim shit. I really wanted the gameplay to vary up more frequently.
P3 is the only one that does anything about this, since your characters get tired, but that's still after a while. Because of this you also need to spend more days in the Tartarus to advance through so it kinda evens out.
This is the case for most of the game, not counting the "filler" Tartarus bosses that are just 3 slightly beefed up enemies. The only exceptions are I would say the August one and the November one
>an hour
Oh it's much much worse
Sleeping Table is only really hard if you don't understand how important buffs are and you aren't using based Junpei for some reason. He literally carried that fight for me.
I played golden first then 5, so I do expect to be annoyed by the lack of qol stuff, but I'm sure the story makes up for it
definitely, was just being conservative. I'd say my sessions would be 2 hours minimum but usually more like 4-5 if i recall correctly
the issue isn't the fire damage, depending on rng it can just spam fucking megidola and kill your whole team in 2 hits
>what am I in for?
Broken emulation.
One of the few fights where you NEED to be the healer. Junpei, Koromaru and Akihiko are a great team for this.
I just played through that part about a week ago.
It was honestly kinda easy if you just dedicate yourself as a sub healer alongside the chick to main healing.
It's mainly a battle of patience.
My 3 step strategy:
>Bring Party of Shinjiro/Aegis/Junpei
>Use Revolution
>Attack until Crit and repeat, occasionally healing if rng screws you
>Win
this did the theme of Greek tragedy well.
>he unironically dislikes Tartarus
Kino music progression
Kino visual progression
Good risk/reward mechanics with the tired system and the ability to return using the one-way teleporters
Good bosses that'll fuck your ass if you're too casual to create strategies around them
Only 4fags and 5babs disagree
>Pepe
>Kino
Thanks for saving me the trouble.
meh 5 was better in pretty much every way
>not spamming instakill on enemies for easy grinding
Makoto > Mitsuru > Akihiko > Ken = Koromaru > Yukari > Junpei
Weakness+AoA is basically an Instakill.
Not in later stages with high health and lots of enemies. You'll waste time and resources way quicker that way.
That actually was my strategy in 4. Maybe it's just my bad luck, but even with Die for Me! with Mudo Boost, I still had 1 enemy survive every single time I used it.
P3 was pretty great. I wish the game didn’t rely so much on battles that you won or lost before even entering the fight though (as in, you better have the exact right persona or you’re fucking dead). For example, That faggot who literally drains everything except pierce.
Also, Akihiko best boy
Emulating this game is god tier. I have up-scaled resolution, fast-forward almost all the time, and a hack that lets you control party members. It’s pretty great.
>playing P3F for the first time
Lucky fuck have fun.
i'm in the same boat op though I just beat the journey at lvl 90 with messiah because I grinded my ass off
it's pretty great also for people in this thread who have played it
is the answer as bad as people say it is?
You won't max out all the S.Links if you don't follow a guide, so just focus on your favorites. Some tips
>Constantly fuse personas, preferably of SLinks you have leveled up
>Scan every single new enemy, including bosses that won't show you their resistances. This is because improves your AI teammate's decisions
>Understand how your characters react to different tactics. For example, Mitsuru will let your hp drop much further before she heals you than Yukari or Aigis even when set to support. They all have some quirks like that.
>Tactics are super important, don't just set them to act freely all game
>Try and accomplish as much as you can during a single visit to Tartarus. Ideally you should be going once or twice at most a full moon.
>Doing SLinks while you have a persona of that arcana (ex: a lovers persona while doing the lovers link) makes you advance to the next rank faster
>Just fucking look up the pop quiz answers. A ton of them are japanese history/life you have no chance of getting and they reward you with personality attribute points.
>Speaking of, Courage, Knowledge, and Charm are used for SLinks later on in the game. You should be leveling those up if you aren't doing SLinks.
>IF YOU ARE PLAYING THE PSN VERSION OF P3FES ROTATE YOUR SAVES. THIS IS A ~90 HOUR GAME AND THE PSN VERSION CAN RANDOMLY CORRUPT SAVE FILES.
>I don't know if they patched it but it happened to me when I went through it, luckily I had multiple saves
No but it's not great either. It's default set to hard mode but in addition to all the annoyances that brings, there's also no Compendium so if you fuse or discard a Persona, it's gone until you make a new one. Also near the end of the game, you have to fight three tough boss fights all in a row and you're forced to use the new party member so if you didn't level her up, you basically have to reset. The story is only at the beginning and the end (just like Vanilla P3 lol) and between that it's nothing but Tartarus and the occasional backstory for SEES, most of which we already know and didn't really need to see (Junpei's being the most egregious). Some people think it "messes up the story" but it doesn't really.
2 games and 13 years later and Akihiko is still the best boy
Weird way to spell Door-kun.
>Matarunda
>Marakunda
>Masukunda
>Balanced stats, but also fast as fuck
>Cool looking personas
How does he do it?
Multiple saves, got it
Oh also the order you should try maxing them is Courage>Charm>Academics.
