why would you want to play it, shit game
I remember getting it after Fallout 3 and feeling it was a mod pack for $60
luckily I pirated
what do you expect me to do about it faggot
Post specs, user. Though unlikely, maybe there are hardware incompatibilities. A quick google search says that the engine uses Directx 9. If you're using something like a 2080 with Directx 12, something may be up there. Then again, Directx 12 should be backwards compatible in that sense.
i have the same issue every time i try to play it
i get bored fiddling with it and uninstall then try again a year later or so
Playing it on Windows 10 vs playing it on Windows 7?
t. todd
try enboost and the 4gb mod
Works fine on my xbox 360
Works fine on both for me, my shitty old computer with windows 7 ran New Vegas with around 100 mods just fine and it never crashed on me. It also works perfectly on my new computer and I even have the NMC large textures mod installed.
Finally a proper opinion on Yea Forums
Literally the only mod I absolutely can’t get to work is the NMC because it runs out of memory every fucking time
I have like 50 mods installed on it rn and it runs really good so idk what that faggot OP is talking about, he probably doesn’t even into wrye bash
OP here, yes I did the merge patch
Just use correct and don’t be an faggot
Use vortex*
It literally tells you what mods conflict and some mods are just garbage and crash everything (for me: NMC textures, EVE, probably more)
OP here again. I used MO2. If I want to switch to Vortex, how do I safely transfer my mods without fucking up?
Maybe its your ram? I use a 8gb ram.
Don't use vortex get FOMM instead, you can easily convert NMC into FOMM by extracting the textures and meshes into old folder and use create from folder on FOMM. Use the one that has fork in the name on nexus.
Into a new folder*
Todd its time to stop
>If you're using something like a 2080 with Directx 12, something may be up there.
basically every consumer nvidia gpu released in the past 16 years has been compatible with directx 9, and every nvidia gpu released in the foreseeable future will more than likely retain support
dont spread false information
post your specs and your load order
>get FOMM instead
dont do this OP, MO and MO2 have FOMM support built into them
vortex is a badly written, badly designed mess of a software that's still inferior to the original Mod Organizer
MO & MO2 both tell you what mods conflict, and LOOT will solve 99% of your load order problems
Not my PC specs but here's my laptop specs that I want F:NV to run on. I'll get load order up from my previous F:NV installation

>Not a single performance or anti crash mod.
This is embarrassing for you.
its true. Fallout and New Vegas are absolutely horrendously optimized. About as bad as it can get without crashing. Bethesda games a whole, do *just* enough to remain stable. Let alone using a far newer OS, and hardware. I can run Witcher 3 with about 100 graphics mods, and reshades, and shit and get 4k60fps stable. Meanwhile, I fire up New Vegas at 720p, and I'll jank down to 15fps every time I turn the mouse.
There are, see the second post
also, here's my PC specs
userbenchmark.com
You don't have the 2 that matter.
which are?
your laptop is pretty weak, disable eve and impact
install NVSR, NVAC and the 4gb patch if you havent
>Unofficial Patch Plus.esp
>YUP - Base Game + All DLC.esm
why do you have two unofficial patches?
good PC, I don't know why you're having issues. verify game cache integrity through steam and see if that fixes anything
i don't know why so many people have problems with new vegas, my game has crashed maybe thrice in the 200 hours I've played and runs at a steady 60fps
figure out how to mod the game and it'll work well for you
Stutter Remover and New Vegas Anti Crash
Alright thanks m8
I have both
Install TTW if you are having crashes, it adds fallout 3 to NV but somehow makes the game run better
It's not crashes I'm having. It's just slow. It's 60 fps when I look up in the sky but 30-40 everywhere else
that's bullshit and you know it
Unofficial Patch Plus is a complement to YUP. It adds fixes that require NVSE and JIP which aren't present in YUP because of the author's philosophy of only requiring the game and nothing else. So there aren't duplicates.
bait
Obsidian has a huge problem with overshooting their goals and vastly overestimate their own abilities. They're a dev kept afloat by a rabid fanbase I'm amazed is still active, especially after their last games were absolute duds. Will that fanfare survive them selling out to Epic? Maybe, it's lasted this long.
Open task manager. Go to the Details tab. The fucking details tab, not the processes tab. Right click the FNV exe and choose "select affinity". Untick all the cpu boxes except for the first 2.
How long until OpenNV, lads? Ten years?
Just use the 4gb patcher if you want to use NMC
Any good quest mods you guys know of? I think I've probably already played almost all the popular quest mods.
This
They literally have more cancelled Fallout projects than games they actually fucking released. Yet somehow, even after going out of business multiple times, manages to stay afloat.
All the shit they added on top of Fallout 3 was poorly implemented. The weapon mods felt half baked and worthless. The crafting system was too fucking cumbersome and complex for what it should be, seriously, I went through the entire main questline and multiple side quests and STILL didn't have enough materials to craft even a single. fucking. bullet.
But why bother crafting when all anyone ever does in these fucking games is max charisma, and jack off in the casinos/caravan/trading exploits to get ridiculous amounts of money anyways. The Strip was a complete fucking disappointment and the main storyline is a fucking joke.
And the fact that the dev team couldn't even make up their fucking minds on how grounded or "wacky" they wanted to make the world, so they added in a fucking perk to turn on the retarded references and shitty jokes.
Not to mention that Mr. House is the dumbest character in the Fallout universe (Aw shit, I'm the founder of fucking ROBCO yet I can't even reprogram my own robots without a ridiculous gambling themed plot device that I'm too stupid to develop a decent plan to transport safely so I hire 1 fucking guy who immediately gets ambushed and then treat him like dogshit the entire game and then let him into my sealed chamber with 0 security inside where if he opens my sealed pod for even 1 second it will kill me)
The only fucking argument these fucking shills have is "b-b-but the DLC is good!!!"
Tell me about it. Also, notice how every single major faction needed some random jackoff from the middle of the desert to do everything for them? The NCR, Legion, those guys couldn't do shit without the courier's help. Not only that, but every single game released afterwards was poorly written, and that's when it wasn't a complete ripoff. I mean, look at this shit:
>POE: someone's autistic His Dark Materials fanfic pulled straight from Reddit. They could've made literally any setting, and they went with this boring thing with Golem Gods and Kinder.
>Tranny: a terribad fanfiction where the 'evil' main character turns out to be a good guy, which flies in the face of everything we were told. You don't even do anything remotely evil and the Bronze Age setting isn't used or utilized at all. I was expecting something resembling Mycenaean Greece or Sumeria, not a lamer Final Fantasy ripoff.
>Outer Worlds: literally Borderlands with Rick and Morty autism. We wanted a Golden Age of SciFi RPG, not a shittier FPS ripoff of a game that's not even good.
NV's merit is not being well written. It's that it's better written than 3.
Mr. House is a dumb character, but you clearly have never played any of the other games if you think he's the dumbest in the fallout universe.
Hating NV just makes you a contrarian.
I'm not joking, it fixed my game i haven't got a crash in the 20 hours i played with it
>They literally have more cancelled Fallout projects than games they actually fucking released.
fallout.fandom.com
literally only ONE of these games, Van Buren, was developed by Black Isle, and it was almost done when Interplay went under.
>The weapon mods felt half baked and worthless.
But they worked fine.
>The crafting system was too fucking cumbersome and complex for what it should be,
So you complain about the weapons system not being fleshed out enough, but now you're complaining about the crafting system being too complex? Do you want in-depth game mechanics or not?
> I went through the entire main questline and multiple side quests and STILL didn't have enough materials to craft even a single. fucking. bullet.
It's not like Fallout 4 where you inexplicably make a sniper scope out of tin cans & broken glass bottles. You get shell casings when you fire your gun, you get primer when you take apart a bullet, and you get lead (somehow) from scrap metal.
>But why bother crafting when all anyone ever does in these fucking games is max charisma, and jack off in the casinos/caravan/trading exploits to get ridiculous amounts of money anyways.
Only people who aren't interested in roleplaying in a roleplaying game do that. Also, Charisma is the most useless special stat as Speech can be leveled to 100 easily without it.
>And the fact that the dev team couldn't even make up their fucking minds on how grounded or "wacky" they wanted to make the world, so they added in a fucking perk to turn on the retarded references and shitty jokes.
Because sperglords complained about Fallout 2 being too silly, so they added a compromise.
(cont.)
If you payed attention you'd realize that Mr. House's hubris was his primary character flaw. The man was brilliant and had a solid plan to get humanity off planet Earth (which is why he bought Repcon pre-war), but he trusted the Courier far too much (which I'll get to later).
> I'm the founder of fucking ROBCO yet I can't even reprogram my own robots without a ridiculous gambling themed plot device
He themed it after a poker chip because he has a fetish for Las Vegas, which has a lot of casinos. Again, hubris.
>so I hire 1 fucking guy who immediately gets ambushed
The 1 fucking guy had 7 decoys, all of which had unpredictable routes. House didn't want anybody to know about his plans to take over the Mojave with super death robots, and a convoy of Securitrons escorting a package would tip literally every major power in the region off to his activities.
>and then treat him like dogshit the entire game
He literally treats you like a king in all of his endings. He's just an asshole and expects you to get things done (which you do, because you're the motherfucking courier).
>and then let him into my sealed chamber with 0 security inside where if he opens my sealed pod for even 1 second it will kill me
It's been a while since I've done a House playthrough, but I'm pretty sure that every robot in the room goes hostile when you try to get into his chamber. There's also two securitrons in front of his chamber doorway that light you up the second you open the hidden door, which would demolish any normal person.
Also, opening his sealed pod doesn't kill him immediately.
It's heavily implied through dialogue that the Courier is one of Mr. House's descendants, and is the primary reason why he trusts you so much.
The fact that he had world saving anti-missile technology and used it only to protect the Mojave so that he could rebuild Las Vegas because it's his hometown should tell you something about his character.
someone got openmw to load fallout 3 and skyrim assets, it's not a crazy idea.
If nothing else, I'm amazed by the sheer fanfare Obsidian possesses. Even when they sell out to a shady Chinese corporation.
>The man was brilliant and had a solid plan to get humanity off planet Earth
And go where, though?
>It's heavily implied through dialogue that the Courier is one of Mr. House's descendants, and is the primary reason why he trusts you so much.
I don't remember anything like that.
i played new vegas in 2018 and there was nothing like this.
>So you complain about the weapons system not being fleshed out enough, but now you're complaining about the crafting system being too complex? Do you want in-depth game mechanics or not?
There is a fine line between having a functional crafting system, and having to trek across 3-5 different locations to harvest specific nodes to then travel to a campfire/whatever the fuck to craft a single stimpack.
>You get shell casings when you fire your gun, you get primer when you take apart a bullet, and you get lead (somehow) from scrap metal.
So, in order to craft a bullet, I need to disassemble more bullets than I would ever get from crafting? Yeah, its shit. Call it dogshit if you want, but The Pitt's bulk ammo forging machine was 100x better than fucking around with lead, casings (which aren't interchangeable), primer (which has 2 different types) and filling your inventory with useless bullshit that you'll MAYBE be lucky enough to come across enough other shit to have a use for.
Even if you have enough to actually make something, or are able to break down one ammo type and make 5 (if your lucky) rounds for another gun, why bother when you can just check 5 boxes or shoot a couple enemies and get 3x as many rounds.
Not only that, but ammo itself tends to become rather plentiful in the mid-late game, rendering the entire system pointless.
>The 1 fucking guy had 7 decoys, all of which had unpredictable routes.
And look how well that worked out. Then the one securitron that was actually watching the entire cringeworthy opening cutscene, decided to just let the trio of dipshits get away with murdering you and get away with the chip. Apparently because saving the guy who got shot in the head and buried "alive" (which is bullshit) is more important than securing the MacGuffin
>Also, opening his sealed pod doesn't kill him immediately.
No, but it was stated that even opening his pod for a second would ultimately lead to his death via infection.
You need a lot of RAM (I have 16GB) and an SSD to even get NMC to run okay on the large quality
It sounds like you just didn't really get the crafting system. I agree that it's presented rather poorly, took me a while to figure it out, but at no point did I have difficulty acquiring the materials to make bullets. Progress further in the game and you can just buy the materials at the strip. Being able to convert energy cells into microfusion cells when playing an energy weapons character is extremely useful. Once you get a high enough rep with the Brotherhood of Steel you get an infinite supply of microfusion cells that you can convert into any energy weapon ammo of your choice.
That said, survival was a totally useless skill because of how rare campfires were, and needing such a high survival skill just to cook meat is immersion breaking and stupid. Gathering ingredients to craft stimpacks is so tedious and boring I found it more efficient to just buy stims rather than wasting time picking flowers.
windows 10
Anti-crash and tick fix mods aren't in your plugins.txt because they're in your NVSE folder, retarded Satania posting nigger.
those specs from hell
help
New Vegas stutter remover isn't compatible with Windows 10 and is known to cause constant crashing issues, uninstall it.
It can be fixed by changing the .ini file. I forgot which line it needs to be changed but they must be set to 0.
The fix only works for some people, not all unfortunately.
you're using fomm/4gbnvse?
Use New Vegas tick fix and uninstall that shit, it's the new version for Win10.
anyone have any mod packs? im lazy and dont want to watch a playlist worth of 3+ hours to learn how to mod just to have confilcts cause crashes
be a chad and use nexus mod manager like me
A proper shitpost*
TTW, project nevada, nmc texture packs, wmc, and wrp as well as a few gun mods
It's always refreshing to see people who know a shit game when they play one.
Same, have a pc from 2016 and get fucking 40fps, tried possibly all fixes and tweaks, nothing.
