This fucking map, holy shit. The first mission part is a clusterfuck. If your team doesn't manage to take A or B in the first 5 minutes, your fucked as the Mg's no longer have bots to shoot at and it's basically a shooting gallery for the Germans. Defending the second part is a pain in the ass, but it's mostly my implicit anti-camping bias. 3rd half the Germans spawn way to close to the 2 points and defuse way to easy. When you get rolled over by the enemy team, you sure as hell notice. I used to skip the fuck out of this, would much prefer the Battle of the Bulge map or Operation Breakout (best map)
i quit playing last year so i dont know how much has changed, but I hated this map with a burning passion. It goes against everything I ever enjoyed or wanted out of siege.
worst part about MCC is the lack of a veto option and they didn't even filter out the trash maps like snowbound

Fuck sinjar, absolutely cancer and it won votes all the time because EVERYONE wanted to just stack Insurgent, not realizing only half of them would make it to the team.

I loved playing that map and cs Assault
I could take Alpha but only if I go m9/c4 only and have a good enough spawn to bum rush the point and jump throw a c4. If I died during that attempt then it's gg. B was also a shit show for the defenders because one attacker on the second floor of B could easily trap them in their spawn.
Sinjar firefight and ambush is fun though, because it focuses on the urban part of the map.
Shame because the map gets better past that first point.
Yeah fuck this map. Security barely able to push through because of the bullshit first checkpoint.

Map is of balance tovarishch.
If you don't get a good start, catching up is a complete nightmare considering how the track is basically 2 straight lines with 2 turns.
It also highly favors heavywight characters for that same reason.
Baby Park grinds my gears more.

Insurgency Source had some shit maps but oh my god the maps are so much worse in Sandstorm. Literally every map fucking sucks. I only really play push so I can't comment on other modes, but not a single map is decent in push. Every single one has at least one spawncamp spot on every point (usually for both attack and defense spawns) and a dozen or so pixel peek camping spots. The cap zones are also very strangely placed on a lot of objectives and the out of bounds zones are completely broken, which only worsens the spawncamping problem.

They have a lot that deserve honorable mention, especially considering how drastically different they look from the perspective of someone exploiting ultra-slav mode. But Port Novo takes the cake IMO:

The only good use for Mountain Pass was those custom maps where you'd have about 100 people playing at a time and the zeds were multiplied heavily.

Wtf I hated Isolation when I started but its great for different playstyles. Sniper and shotty fags have their areas. You can jew about on the ghost! BR fight on the hill etc

h3 had the best mapset
I loved the map too and it dramatically helped me unlock the stock for my C96, but holy fuck was it obnoxious as the Germans if you had squad leaders that never used their smoke grenades. The map is SO much easier if you toss them onto the roof of that small building in the courtyard that was an objective. Doing so blocked the lines of sight between all of the Russians in the grain tower and the German's approach to the objective. That made it easier to push into the objective and overwhelm the three Russians who actually fought near the objective instead of sniping from the windows.
Once you do that, then it's an easy push into the tower for some knife fighting. But if the players in the command positions never used their smoke, then you never get that far in the first place.

The best halo 3 levels are from previous halos. The only one it added that is any decent is high ground.

After you kill enough tanks, you stop killing them because that's too merciful.

I don't understand how every single map is bad, some of them could be made better by some minor spawn location/spawn terrain changes but gayjew will never improve their shitty game. These days I question if I even actually like the game or just tolerate it because there's no real alternative.

I love SWB2's gameplay but I have no idea what the map designers were thinking. The game had more bad maps than decent ones.
I feel like that bit of terrain was entirely intentional, since it funnels everyone into the river and slows them down to a crawl to make it easier for campers.

Isolation's saving grace is how the longer into the match it is the more flood infected the map gets
Sword Base from Reach was the absolute worst.
"Two bases within shooting distance of each other" maps are cool in principle but ALWAYS terrible in practice.
Why the hell is this map so overhated for? In fact I thought it was a good map once they fixed it by removing the majority of the shield doors that were causing the map problems. I think its just a meme to say this map was awful.
I remember back when it was a mod it seemed like the only fucking way to get up there was to get a smoke grenade launcher + as much smokes as I could carry and just make that whole half of the map look like a fucking grateful dead concert and hope that the team actually pushed/didn't get killed by random RPG/MG fire, it was pure cancer.
rest of the map was pretty fun tho

9. map and spawn design means that you're either wandering around looking for someone to kill or are in the middle of a spamfest or are awkwardly flailing with someone on top of the bunker

This map is fun as hell.
Entryway sucks in single player and it sucks in multiplayer.
It's such an arbitrary place though, made even worse that the water beside it has both deep and shallow parts that are hard to see. It seriously looks like someone fucked up and lifted up the terrain in that section

NWI has a problem with shit maps in general. Balancing issues all over the place, maps designed around push with other game modes as an afterthought, and updates that break more than they fix. They have a complete unwillingness to listen to the community and fix shit without constantly riding their asses about it; unless you're part of the comp scene, then they'll suck your dick and do whatever you ask. And it doesn't help that the spawn trapping is enabled by the devs going "lol git gud" when they make maps where spawns have only one or two exits and can be covered by one guy. I could write a fucking essay on how NWI has been shitting the bed and completely disregarding fundamental FPS design.
