The charge leaves taurens further away, at the edge of their effective melee range, so they are on the same line as other races on that point.
Taurens are actually a terrible choice because they are the only race that has a deadzone between WW and shoot ranges.

People tend to forget that Tauren also have war stomp. Pretty awesome for pvp.

Rogues can kite you in the deadzone to get out another stealth and quick cheap shot unless you time a counter perfectly.
Piercing howl has 10 yds range and so is slightly better, but you still have a small deadzone between shoot's minimum range.

Getting items in Classic gives you so much more fulfillment because they aren't just handed to you like nothing. It's deeply satisfying to finally get that one item you've been raiding to get for months. Same thing for everything in the game. Things actually matter and have a feeling of weight to them. I'd rather be stuck in a box full of fun than an open-ended experience with none.

I am not a Retail baby,I played from Classic to early Cata.And while I agree that Retail is bad and Classic is better.I still won't play it.It has good PvE Content but braindead Class mechanics and Boss mechanics.The PvP is also kinda meh,some Classes are self running while others need a lot of gear.Also the PvP is bad you have a ton of hard counters,meme classes and autist think that using a million consumables/engineering to beat certain class matchups is skillful.It literally is bending reality as much as possible because some matchups and classes are so favored in one side when both players have the same skill.

Not 100% true but I agree in 99% of cases. I was able to go back to DAoC private server (pre toa, post la nerf) and experience pure magic again despite the insane grind. The only reason I stopped playing was because prime time was only for EU and US prime was basically a ghost town so no rvr for me. Being in a huge 3 realm relic keep raid/defense with hundreds of players felt great though that one time

I mean it's going to happen on several pvp servers as well. There's always some variation in the populations, with some pvp servers having faction imbalances in some direction. There were pvp servers with 70% horde and servers with 30% horde. If these were combined with low overall population, it would result in pretty long queues.

Koalas are fucking horrible animals. They have one of the smallest brain to body ratios of any mammal, additionally - their brains are smooth. Its really lop sided how much better shamans are than paladins.

As healers paladins are good with mana efficient heals but end buffing people the whole time as thats more useful because priest are good enough at healing.

Shamans on the other hand can buff and heal at the same time thanks to their totem, they also have the only form of aoe heal in the game with chain heal. Shamans have so much utility that raids with bring them over priests and they make druids irrelevent.

In pvp its not even close, ret is awful having like 2 abilities that are good in pvp(hoj and rek) meanwhile enh shamans were practically made for pvp have every tool needed to fight other players making one of if not the best pvp class in the game

Yeah, from what I've read that's a popular opinion. I'm ok with the limitations, I just think it's fun.
TuF is easy to get at least, once AV is out. And realistically just going off of available gear, it seems like enhance would be a better option early in classic and then perhaps gearing more towards elemental as spell power and spell crit become available. I'd suppose bwl/zg onward but i could be forgetting some obvious items.

Mages are typically 2 steps ahead of warriors in a 1v1.
If the warrior is a gnome it is 1 step ahead.

What exactly makes ele shaman bad for pve? I tried doing some calculations comparing them to frost mages, and arrived at similar numbers for both.

LB and FB damage is essentially the same.
Shamans can wear cloth too, so I imagine they'll get around the same amount of spell damage from their gear (pre raid at least). Mages do get 3% extra on top of that due to an arcane talent though.
Shamans get these from their talents: 5% damage, 6% crit, 3% hit, 5% crit (100% crit multiplier)
Mages get these from their talents: 6% hit, 6% damage, 3% crit (100% crit multiplier)
On top of that mages get winter's chill and CoE for +10% crit and +10% damage
So in total mages get: +2% crit, +11% damage, +3% hit for a roughly 17% damage more per frostbolt
However, talented lightning bolt is 2s while talented frostbolt is 2.5s, 25% faster, which makes up for the damage difference.

Did I miss something? Seems like ele shamans should be competitive with mages for MC and BWL.

You have to understand how fucking easy it is to kite enh. Frost shock is 20yd meme. Ghost wolf is dispellable. You have no defence cds and only 1 school of magic, so if your opponent wont bite your fake cast you are completely fucked and cant even heal yourself.

You would never-ever be able to hit pvp speced huntard even once. Same with mage. Same with rogue. Same with drood. Possibly warlock.

In melee your only hope is wf proc, but then any competent warrior would wipe floor with your face thanks to disarm. If retardin survives your initial burst, he can also stun heal to full (and vanilla trinkets dont remove stuns). Then he would oneshot you with rec. Not to mention bubble loh.

If you really want to play enh and get huge boner from wf crits, then do it, who cares. But enh isnt a strong pvp spec.

The issue is twofold. First is mana. Ele Shamans blow through it fast and they have no skills to get it back. They can farm Dark Runes and Mana Pots to help with this but it's always going to be an issue. The second is that Curse of the Elements doesn't low a mob's Nature Resistance, so their damage is always lower than Mages/Locks.

MC and BWL fights last 30 seconds anyway, and you can also chug a mana pot and demonic/dark rune.

I wonder how much the damage gain is from the lowered resistance. With identical gear ele shaman is about 6% ahead of a frost mage with just lightning bolt spam.

I did some quick calculations for mana stuff, and assuming you have a buffed mana pool of 6k (not exactly sure how much you'd have in MC), your mana will last for around 58 seconds with LB spam. This is with no other source of mana regen except mana spring totem. If you chug a mana potion, this increases to 76 seconds, and with a demonic rune, 88 seconds. How long do fights in MC/BWL take?

pve servers are good if you have a very limited amount of playtime per day that you don't want to waste on a corpserun after a gank. I leveled on a pve private server and it was comfy to not have the constant pvp paranoia, but it also felt like a hollow experience where I wasn't getting the most out of what could potentially be. sometimes you want to participate in a giant world pvp event. I don't gank people unless they repeatedly camp my low level alts, but it's still fun to ride around at max level and see the lower leveled people on the opposite faction freak out when they see you, then imagine their anus unclenching and nervous laughter as you ride off.

if you level on a pvp server then you'll have some occasional fun pvp, occasionally get ganked, but when you hit level 60 you'll feel more accomplished. and you'll always have the option to participate in world pvp, should you so desire. if you're nervous about world pvp then try to find a leveling buddy for strength in numbers. the only time a pvp server becomes a pain in the ass is when it's very low pop and the lifeless honor grinders have to camp everyone level 49+ for weeks on end, or if the server is 90% the opposite faction. you'll only risk experiencing the latter on retail classic servers, and you'll always have the option for a server transfer if that happens to you.

If you're actually able to get raid gear that is +spell power then you become one of the scariest classes in pvp. You don't need mobility if you have engineering and the only class that can actually beat you is a rogue with all of their cd's, Everyone also forgets they have a 5 second instant silence which shits on mages pretty hard. If you go ally you might have a hard time in wpvp

I'm going to be honest with you guys, I've been very negative in these threads recently, mostly just to be inciteful and get (you)s, but sometimes I do it as a joke although sarcasm and joking tones can't really be conveyed through text. I feel bad for being a negative person, causing others to get upset, and potentially misinforming a new player by posting an unfunny joke that falls flat.

Every spec can be used to level. You don't have to min/max. You can play what you want how you want and still have the most fun possible. Horde and Alliance are fairly balanced overall. Paladins are a blast to play, and so are shamans. While leveling, warriors, druids, paladins, and shamans can tank easily as long as the group isn't braindead. And at level 60, druids warriors and paladins can still tank any instance. And, although you might not be the first pick, paladins and druids can offtank raid bosses just fine. Remember: a 40-priest raid downed onyxia. Yes: a priest tanked onyxia (youtube.com/watch?v=yAmXZPuS7L0)

Surprisingly enough, when you have to run away from the boss, you don't deal any damage as melee. On top of that, KT is a difficult fight overall, so making a wipe more likely isn't a very good strategy if you're tryharding.

Casters and rogue do really well before BWL compared to other classes. The trick is managing how much damage you can do within the limits of the threat you produce (weaving in feints and vanishes on rogue for example)

Half the NEETs and zoomers already blew their load on pservers and won't bother with Classic since it's the same 1.12 garbage + monthly fee. Most boomers will quit long before 60, especially those who roll on PvP servers and get corpsecamped by NEETs 30 levels higher as soon as they enter Redridge. With blizzlike server populations, if Blizzard doesn't merge servers all but like one of each type of server will be dead in six months. Even if you don't want to quit, you will quit when there's only a hundred level 60 people left on your server.

I don't get the long term plan for Classic WoW here. Eventually they're going to run out of content to release and have to come out with TBC. I highly doubt that Blizzard will invest the time and resources to make new content for Classic because then they would retcon retail lore and have to balance TWO MMOs when they can hardly balance ONE.

Arena wasn't the start of the issue, the precedent set by AV to give everyone a welfare weapon that's great for PvE was started it (if not battlegrounds in general).

It's a pretty big problem since you'd require a server split and then a server merge. You could half of them population on a server move to tbc and the other half stay. On a normal population server, that leads to two half dead servers, so you'd have to end up having to merge some servers. Result: server communities fucked, name conflicts

Add more content to classic and keep it going. New raids, new dungeons, new quests, new events.

Why not? Re-releasing each expansion will just decrease the population of Classic, it'll turn into just another schedule where you'll lose all your progress in the next patch. The only chance for Classic to grow is to add new content, splitting the community will make Blizz less money

Ideally they would skip TBC entirely and go directly to WOTLK (without TOC and Ulduar) while keeping the gameplay from Vanilla and eventually move on to MOP (skipping Cata). That is the purist route that would allow lore to remain consistent.

To be honest they could simply add raids from the newer expansions but make them all 40 man level 60 and have them accessible through the Caverns of Time. Not as much work and keeps the progression going.

A small amount of people may of asked for Classic but there'll be a large amount of people playing it for the first time and enjoy it just like OSRS. It may not overtake the main game but they wouldn't risk disrupting the community by introducing TBC, it's either no updates or a different progression

Because they don't fit into the Horde. I don't mind them being in the game, I do mind them taking up 60% of my faction's playerbase. Undead were already kinda bad, but I can stomach them considering Horde's history with necromancy. Horde is a union of barbaric outcast races, it shouldn't have any "pretty" races in it at all. I'm completely fine with alliance having monopoly on that and if it causes faction imbalance so be it, the women and faggots who choose a character based on their prettiness don't count for much anyway.
Also the primary reason for Zul'jin being mad at the Horde is the fact that it accepted the Elves. Personally I'd prefer forest trolls over those faggots any day of the week.
