What's wrong with them scanning your PC and sending the data to their servers? It's not like it's hurting you any

This, I got subnautica for free like a month ago

Epic make billions a year. Going by the fines for breaking GDPR, they can be sued for 4% of what they make per year. 4% of billions is a lot of money.

They won't. Tencent will pull strings and remind the EU China owns a LOT of their seaports. Wouldn't want them locked down now, would they?

Doesn't steam do the same shit? Serious question.

They give advertise "free" games with a catch, monetarily they're "free" but they obviously have ulterior motives that they wont share to monetize their business. Hence it isnt really free because they arent being honest about it

Yea Forums is too young to remember it since all the oldfags have left, but the exact same complaints about 'stealing' data were raised about steam when it was first released. As they do today, they also scan your computer for data which they take.

In 12 months this is what is going to happen, Epic hype will have died down, it will have more games on it because they offer a better cut for developers over themselves, plenty of people will be buying the games because no one gives a shit about privacy since its irrelevant but it wont be the Steam killer either.

You'll get the odd post about 'Hey Yea Forums what do you think about X' then someone saying ">Epic Store >Having spyware on your computer" and some shitposting about that and absolutely nothing will change.

The EU are aware of how much of a threat China is and have passed laws to prevent mass investment from China into the EU.

If they're willing to do this, do you think they'd be scared to fine some company for breaking the law because that company is partly owned by China?

Yeah? The laws aren't stopping China at all.

Actually they have almost stopped China from buying up ports in the EU.

If you don't want to use the chink game store because of muh privacy and muh data then you better also not
>own a smartphone
>use modern browsers
>use windows
>use any social media like twitter or facebook
Because they "steal" as much, if not more data from you.

Honestly though why do people care about all that data being collected is no human beings are ever gonna see it? It's all just algorithms they use to try to jew more money out of you by trying to find out what you like to buy.
