Exodus sold more than the Steam exclusive game, Last Light
From the Epic event
>Witcher 3 sold 4 times more than Witcher 2 on Steam.
Also, counting the money Epic pay for exclusive.
So they made a lot of money
Man, if only they had put it on Steam as well. Think about how much more they could have made. Exclusivity is cancer.
bet they included console sales too
Its a free client, exclusivity is not a problem here
They wouldn't have made that much
20000 x 2.5 = 50000
How many copies did each game sell? Don't bullshit me with marketing misdirections.
That comparison makes zero sense. They’re two different games.
Last Light was shit though.
reading comprehension my dude. get some
embarrassing
game would have probably broke 100,000 if it were on steam also
Pretty sure this is a comparison to the first few weeks of sales and includes the 12000 people who pre-ordered it on steam.
Hey guys my peepee is 2.5 times bigger than your neighbor's peepee.
PRETTY IMPRESSIVE, HUH?
Steamdb/SteamSpy are not reliable at all. Their sales numbers are just estimates.
Steamdb/SteamSpy are run by the same russian fucker as the Epic Store. I guess they are not reliable at all either.
>game with more marketing and hype behind it sells better than game with less of those things
Chink shills are pathetic
What? They're both Metro games
They are probably counting games that came in bundles too
I don't understand exclusivity. Why would you intentionally limit the consumer base of your digital product? The only thing that makes any sense at all is if Epic/Steam paid you to make your game exclusive to their platform, but they would have to pay an ASTRONOMICAL amount of money to make that worth it. Not only do they have to pay enough to make up for losses incurred by limiting the game to one platform, but you also have to consider and pay accordingly to long term ramifications. People who can't buy the game on Steam probably won't purchase any future sequels on Steam or Epic either. Not only are you limiting the amount of people buying this current game, but you are also shrinking your customer pool for future releases as well. Not to mention that if somebody's first game was Metro Exodus, they could have gone back and purchase Metro and Last Light as well, which they obviously won't if they couldn't purchase Exodus to begin with.
Exclusivity doesn't make any sense because you are damaging your franchises long term profitability for short term gain. The only way it works is if you either don't care about the future of that franchise or they offer you a lump sum that is more valuable than all those factors combined.
whenever anyone talks about a relative multiplier then you know the numbers in question so small its embarrassing
Steam exclusivity isn't crazy because more often than not, they are enough.
