The game itself was perfect as is and any attempt to capture what it had outside of the era it was made is futile and will be destined for failure. Bloodlines is my favorite game of all time. My hype level is basically 0 for two reasons

1. Been burned before. Remember VTM Online? I sure fucking do.
2. It's current year. I just don't see a game like bloodlines being able to be made in 2019. The industry is different in terms of how games play and what with DLC and other shit. Also if the game has no dedicated modding community, who fucking cares. Mods were a massive part of bloodlines to me.

Also would expect Nu WoD, since old WoD timeline ends, like, 15 years ago. Though I wouldn't be against a 90's setting.

It tapped into the doom and dystopia that everyone was feeling after the 80s died and road it to success. It was a legitimate labor of love, something that just isn't made anymore in the video game industry. Everything now is focus grouped and has to be all inclusive and not offend. It's homogenized. It's, not to quote the meme, soulless. That's what you're going to get in this new game. A mass produced, focus grouped, checks all the board's boxes for a video game. Look at the new World of Darkness products that have come out. THAT'S what you're going to get in game form. You still have your old Bloodlines game. You might want to check the new edition of Kult, it isn't focused on vampires but I think there are templates for player characters that are transformed beyond humanity. It's generally about playing horror scenarios of different sorts and there's nicely looking section that basically pitches DM ideas sorta like how quests in Chuubo move themselves.

The power levels are absolutely retarded but most people play with very limited crossover between the different games as they tend to break each other, even if they were all part of oWOD they're not really compatible, even the lore is contradictory across different games. The exception imo to this is werewolf and vampire, but even then due to lore reasons they're fairly separate from each other. At the end of the day it's like all pnp games, you take what you want and abandon the rest, in my games we basically ignored the fact that mages existed, most of then fucked off to space in our game with only a few staying behind to spirit nuke one of the antediluvians.

You're right, but gangrel are even more extreme than that. A lot of vampires in other clans tend to present vampirism as an option to humans, but the gangrel have a very different view on turning humans. If a human fights back and shows strength against overwhelming odds gangrel will turn them and then dissapear, gangrel that are offered a choice are seen as lesser gangrel. The newly turned gangrel has to fend for themselves with absolutely no knowledge of the vampire world and what can kill them until they encounter another gangrel who is obligated by clan customs to take them under their wing. But because gangrel are usually so isolated and typically rural most newly turned gangrel have to survive months or years before this happens. Any gangrel fledgling that lives long enough to encounter another gangrel is considered strong enough to be one of them because gangrel fledglings tend to have a high remortality rate.

I liked it. It became hard as fuck because I choose to play as a doctor who didnt want to be a vampyr and was disgusted by his affliction but I kept dying so I just started drinking blood to get exp.
Then again, I just like vampires in general so it might be biased since there really isnt a lot of vampire games these days. Especially ones with stories.
