People actually pretend that this game is good

>people actually pretend that this game is good
>people actually pretend that the soundtrack is good

Quit fooling yourselves. Everything in this game is utter trash, ESPECIALLY the shitty music.

Unironically kys.

SUPPA

The game is bad but I still enjoy playing it. Not everything has to be good to be fun.

The music is a 10 though and fuck you for implying otherwise.

SANIC

>this game is bad so I cant find any enjoyment out of it
You must live a shitty life.

YOU'RE THE ONE THAT MAKES ME FEEL SO HIIIIIIIIGH

>play all 5 stages
>collect 5 coins and emeralds using shortcuts
>fight stage boss
>unlock every character including super sonic
>play emerald raceway with super sonic
>beat game in like 20 minutes
>dick around in splitscreen mode playing tag and hunting balloons
whats not to like, it was a fun little game and Richard Jacques is actually a really well known dance music artist, the music was a product of the era with garage and europop being really popular back then

Nobody ever realizes the drift button exists. OP probably just got done watching the Jontron video for all we know.

LIVIN IN THE CITY

I was able to 100% as a kid which tells me it's not -that- trashy if I was able to complete it without wanting to throw my controller

Don’t care about game, but the soundtrack was great. It has that same charm as the soundtrack from the Adventure series

I just got the Sonic R Updater so I can play it with the proper Saturn colors (among other bug fixes) and it's actually not too bad. Like others have said you gotta learn to use the drift use the acceleration button instead of holding up like a normal 3D platformer. You get more control that way, especially over fast characters like Sonic.

Honestly the worst thing about the game is the fact that they fucked up Knuckles' shoe color. Still triggers my autism even to this day.

I hope one day we reach a point where people make custom tracks

That would be awesome, yeah. Surprised no one has attempted it yet, though I'm note even gonna pretend to know why that's the case.

Why aren't you banned yet? You have to be 18 to post here.

I enjoy the OST despite never having played the game. So many people enjoy it that the composer came back for one of the best Sonic racing games years later

>that Take Me Back in Time bit from Sky Sanctuary's track

IT MAKES ME FEEL SO FREE
SO ALIVE
OP, it's sad you have to make a bad bait thread to get people to talk about Sonic R at all.

>He didn't feel the sunshine.
>He didn't work it out.
>He didn't go back in time.
>He didn't live in the city
>He didn't find his diamond in the sky.
>He certainly didn't go Super Sonic Racing.
What a dweeb!

I fucking loved that, good shit

I remember when Generations was about to come out I was hoping the credits theme would be a Back in Time remix, hearing that song felt so cathartic since it's basically what I wanted back then.

>You Can Do Anything right afterward

ASRT was too good for us

>You Can Do Anything right afterward
It's the main theme of the track, even. Beats hearing Seaside Hill for the umpteenth time.

SO TAKE ME

OP can't feel the sunshine, It didn't brighten up his day

Makes me glad they brought him back again in TSR to re-remix that track

Yeah, I'm still pretty lukewarm to TSR but at least the music will be nice.

Raaaaaaacing!!!!

I haven't been keeping up on TSR (team gimmick sounded dumb and I was salty as hell they dropped the rest of the Sega fanservice), what's it shaping up like?

Racing Transformed was a fucking homerun man
I bought it like 3 times

fuck you OP, fuck you for telling me the music is bad. you know what you are? sad, sad and miserable. you're going to die and when you do, no one will ever remember you. you'll die and your body will rot for as long as it can before the smell becomes too much to bear for anything that lives near you, your face will decompose but you will still be identifiable because you are ugly inside and out

For me, it looks better the more they show.
Cool cameos, it looks more beautiful now, and you can customize your car to more of an extent than Mario Kart 7 and 8, with body paint, stickers, and horns.

Looks to be a solid, serviceable racer from what I've seen. Lots of customization. You can even ignore the Team gimmick entirely, if I'm not mistaken. Might pick it up.

>For me, it looks better the more they show.
Eh, I think I just need to get my hands on it and see for myself. Are they gonna do a demo for it?

>Nu-males and underage faggots will never be able to truly appreciate the kino that is this game
I feel bad for them

That I don't know, considering it still isn't listed in the Switch eShop despite having a release date, CTR already being there, and doing it for Transformed. If they do release one, then it may be closer to release, which sucks, because the more gameplay I watch the more I want to try it

That, and once super sonic is unlocked he will win every race. Fucking bullshit

I only had a PS2 growing up so I didn't play SA1 and 2 until like five years ago but I think SA2 sucks. 1's this janky mess but there's a diamond in the rough there. 2 feels like they took that diamond and wasted it making drill parts instead of a nice ring or something.

Sorry for your loss user

Aren't there only fifteen characters in the game or are they supposed to reveal more later on? I feel like the last game had way more than that

There's only 15, but for some reason they decided to make them all be able to have conversations and interact with one another mid-race (which can hopefully be turned off).

Only 15, which is still my only gripe with the game.
Playing ASR right now, and the each version had a varied amount depending on which one, but it had 20, plus Miis/Xbox Avatars, plus Metal Sonic DLC or Banjo Kazooie, again depending on the version. Transformed had 24 plus the Mii/Avatar, then had 6 or 7 more DLC characters on the PC version.
The roster being 15 is just sad despite how fun TSR looks, but hopefully they actually do a good amount of DLC, stages and teams.
I agree with that and I'm sure it will be something you can mute, but I definitely like that more than how the All Stars games just used out of context voice clips for the cast, at least.

game isn't great but i like it
soundtrack absolutely fucking rules and you can eat a peepee

Thanks for your opinion OP, have a nice day!

Once you get past the horrifically terrible controls, this game has an abundance of charm.

that soundtrack tho

The ONIONS is seething on me

Game is shit, but the ost is THE shit. Fuck you

Fuck off, the game has big problems but the soundtrack is amazing.

IT MAKES ME WANT TO SURVIVE
Remember when we could have fun on this board?

This game is my guilty pleasure of mine. I loved it as a kid, had in on the computer, my parents didnt want me having a console but I'd get sneak computer games by from time to time. I'd beat everything in the game in one playthrough, figure out new shortcuts, play the "find a balloon" with my little sister for fun. It was a small, rough game with jagged edges but I loved it for what it was, the character selection was cute and better variety than youd expect from such a small game.

The music was fantastic, obviously people love making about the lyrics but the fact that you can turn them off nobody really brings up, and the instrumental version feel very sonic to me.

Overall very underrated little game, for people saying it was shit just aren't regarding the fact that it's dripping with soul

>like ten characters
>five stages
Baffling tbqhwy. Why couldn't they make more stages? Where they really so pressed for time?

I got the PC version for a few bucks, and since I'm no expert at emulating stuff like this I dug up my Windows 2000 laptop. The game starts up fine but I can't get anything to control it. Do I need to get a Saturn controller or something?

*were
Fuck me I need to go to sleep.

>Why couldn't they make more stages? Where they really so pressed for time?
I think the soundtrack might have something to do with it, I doubt they were willing to make a dozen vocal tracks for one game

Link??

youtu.be/yh2QevWlItw

Lol, I just used keyboard back in the day. Arrow keys and space bar weren't that bad for me, since the controls are so minimal.

I want 17 year olds banned from the internet

That would be fine, but there's no response. I can't get past the title screen. Weird because that laptop also has Lego Racers which controls like that with no problems.

ALL I NEED IS YOU

Ten characters is fine since they all seem to have different functions: sonic has double jump, tails and knuckles fly/glide, amy is a bad joke character but the transforming is a nice animation and she has the boost, eggman has the rockets, tails doll floats, etc.

The level amount is laughable, but I like that theres enough detail and alter active routes to give it a psuedo exploration feeling, especially the city and ruins levels.

I guess in the 90s I didnt really care if a game was super small in design, like I grew up on the gameboy and a lot of games also had that same completion time. I guess this was originally a console game so that's seen as worse, but I've never touched a Saturn so I have no loyalty to it. If your getting a whole Sega console for sonic games sure I could see this as very disappointing, but since this was just another side pc game for me alongside stuff like crocs or lego racers it didnt have any standards to live up to.

CAN YOU SEEEEEE? THE SUN IS SHINING ON MEEEEEEE

Dude that sucks. Sorry I wish I had an answer for you, just got done posting that I also had lego racers on the pc. Havent touched these in a decade though, but I did boot up Homeworld on my 2011 laptop so I feel like you could still get old 90s CD roms working on more modern machines. Maybe I'm wrong, that you'd need emulators like you do with Dos but maybe give it a go on a newer pc if you have one still with the CD tray?

>managed to get all the emeralds with keyboard before
>get the saturn version
>can't do it anymore

Attached: BIGFATEMERALDS.png (404x270, 127K)

You have no idea how incredible the graphics were in this game back in 97', and on the Saturn no less.

Attached: zoomzoom.jpg (1098x553, 63K)

I'm pretty sure R was a stopgap made because Xtreme was dead in the water and whatever eventually became Adventure was nowhere near ready so yeah probably
