>ClassicVania only

*crack* Siiiiip

Now THIS is a collection I can get behind

Never played any castlevania games since I’m a zoomer, might get it when it’s onsale

So any reason this shit isn't gonna have the dsvanias or is cucknami retarded

You try porting a DS game to anything other than the switch

FIRST collection focused on the ORIGINS of the series

Its an 8 game Classic collection. The second collection will probably be the 7 IGAVania games and Simon's Quest.

Is it going to be classicvania only?

Seems all Japanese devs want nothing to do with Epic

>implying it won't just be a shitty collection of nes/snes roms on an open source emulator with all the features removed.

this is perfect for my switch guys

So, what are your bets on the games that are yet to be announced for the Castlevania and Contra collections? What do you think is going to be released with the possible second Castlevania collection? What other collections do you wish for?

My bets:
>Castlevania 1st:
>Castlevania Bloodlines
>Castlevania Chronicles
>Castlevania Re:Birth
>Castlevania Rondo of Blood (if not T-16, SNES)

>Contra:
>Contra 4
>Contra Hard Cops
>Shin Contra
>Neo Contra

>Castlevania 2nd (I honestly dunno if they're gonna go for 3D Castlevania or full Igavania here, let's picture the latter):
>Castlevania SOTN
>Castlevania Circle of the Moon
>Castlevania Harmony of Disonnance
>Castlevania Aria of Sorrow
>Castlevania Portrait of Ruin
>Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow
>Castlevania Order of Eclessia
>??? Kid Dracula? A 3D release?

Looks that way:
>The FIRST Konami Castlevania Collection is designed to be a completed collection around the ORIGINS of the historic franchise.
Included is a unique eBook that has details provided by developers, artists and other inspired by the Castlevania legacy.
Released as part of the Konami 50th Anniversary celebration, now the best time to relive these timeless classics that helped define the PLATFORMER genre.

The three words I bolded from pic related suggest its only classicvania. Even more so considering Simon's Quest is absent, and that cant be for quality control because Haunted fucking Castle is included in the Arcade one of these collections.

>>??? Kid Dracula? A 3D release?

Simon's Quest, senpai. It's not in Collection One and is arguably the grandfather of the Igavania style of games.

Don't Japanese hate Chinese and vice versa?

You're absolutely right, Simon's Quest would fit the Metroidvania collection, as corrected before I could. God damn, if they did it that way and stayed at the 20-30 bucks price tag, these collections could be very fucking good.

>inb4 you can just emulate

Yeah, pretty much

Give me the GBA Castlevania games please.

The thing is whether they would bother tinkering with the translation to make it, you know, more beatable in english.

Looking at the website for the Castlevania Collection and it's rated T, with a warning for Partial Nudity. Symphony Succubus tiddies maybe? If its just for the SCVIV naked goddess statues I will lose my shit.

They're not going to be skipping Simon's Quest. Konami knows it's a polarizing game and one seen many times before, which is why they're pushing Belmont's Revenge as a sign that they're considering rarer CV games for this. But they won't break up the NES trilogy.

If it's like Hamster's Arcade Archives, the Japan versions will be included and have the uncensored art.

They would be mad if they put SOTN and Rondo in the same package and then make another collection.

> No Bomberman
Why?

> $29.99 + tip

>Almost 30 years later and we're finally allowed to see some pixelated nude statues

Does this have that shmup with the female belmont pilot?

If the description of Castlevania is to hope for, there will be more collections. I'm hoping for a Suikoden one, personally, maybe Goemon.

20, if the arcade is to come by.

>Capcom started their "return" with the Bomberman collection
>Konami did a full restructure last year and released 6 games before that
>now this
I'm thinking they are back. Something is going to be announced at E3.

That is what is going to be so odd about a potential second collection with the Igavania games and Castlevania 2. Are they really going to be mad enough to make an Igavania collection with no Symphony? If they put Symphony in that other collection, then are they going to put Rondo into this one? Either way, these collections will be gimped (or that PS4 exclusive collection will be rendered pointless.)

Likely no Rondo or Symphony for this one, so they can keep those as bait for the non-PS4 owners who didn't get Requiem and not immediately piss off those who did.

You misspelled

I'm hoping for Rondo into one and all the Igavanias into the other. Making 8 game collections for 20 bucks when they could've EASILY made it 4 or 5 and called it a day shows that they're going a bit off the rails, desu.

Also, the people that bought Requiem deserve it. 20 bucks for a gimped port of DXC is not worth it.

Hey guise, if SOTN comes as part of this collection, would this be the very first time it appears on a Nintendo console?

Harmony of Despair remastered on Steam soon lads

Putting Rondo and SOTN on the same pack is kind of a bad decision, I'd say it's better to put one in the classicvania package and the other in the metroidvania. SOTN would already sell on itself, and Rondo helps sell the package of other, harder classicvanias.

Fuck i just realize i typed BOMBERMAN when it's MEGAMAN.
...I-i'm playing bomberman R right now so i got a brainfart.

Adventure ReBirth better be fucking on this now that there's no way to play it besides piracy.

>Soma only
>Chapter 10 only
>You better know how to glitch up the tower to go directly to Dracula
>Sub-2 minute runs with superior nippon players

Harmony of Despair needs to stay back in the ground.

Today i will remind them

Looking forward to Castlevania Collection 3 to be honest, lads:

>Castlevania 64
>Legacy of Darkness
>Lament of Innocence
>Curse of Darkness
>Lords of Shadow
>Mirror of Fate
>Lords of Shadow 2
>Judgment

Wait I have a better idea. Harmony of Despair Battle Royale.

Arcade Classics is only old shmups or we are getting Sunset Riders and Mystic Warriors too?

The Megaman collections are certainly good. I wish they would've included spin off (&Bass) or portable games into them instead of going canon stuff only.

No way in hell they would put Lords of Shadows into a package. Also, the game's fucking blaaaand.

Did the game never come out or what

Absolutely nothing after that teaser, i dont think they've even mentioned Contra at all until this anniversary collection.

So with Metal Gear Survive, that new Track and Field and Bomberman R on top of these, can we safely say Silent Hill is the only major Konami franchise still in the memory hole? (Fuck off, Goemonfags, you have never been relevant.)

Suikoden, DDR, beatmania, Gradius?

tfw I've never played a castlevania game in my life

It wasn't the teaser for Hard Corps Uprising? That was technically a Contra game even though it wasn't in the title.

Attached: iu[1].jpg (1280x720, 298K)

Suikoden got a new website so something could happen.
Zoeradius was remastered in ZOE2mars

>Suikoden got a new website so something could happen.
What the fuck?

Hard Corps came out in Feb 2011 while the teaser was during E3 2011, so around july?

Gradius is in this Arcade collection

And why are you not working to change that?

They could easily do a collection with Gradius games alone, but that's not likely given the point you've talked about. Fuck, they have a lot of series they could do a collection of. Just do Silent Hill well and they'd have my money.

konami.com/games/genso/

Oh, fuck man, I would love the shit out of a Suikoden pack on modern consoles...

Huh, weird. I've never heard of a company just abandoning a teaser like that with no explanation.

Probably an abandonned game i guess. it happen often in the industry.

Konami have done it before. They did it with a 3D Castlevania game done by IGA starring Alucard. We heard zero after the teaser and a year or so later they debuted Lords of Shadow in its place.

They should make a new Parodius but the final stage is made of cut out pictures because Kojimbo went over budget

Yes

too lazy
might try it out when it comes to steam

Lord of Shadow wasn't a Castlevania game at first tho.
Is it bad i actually enjoy them as their own thing?

Gradius 1,2 and Salamander
There's still actually dozens of separate games though when you start getting into different platforms

It actually was, starring Simon, no less. Then it changed into an original thing, then Kojima said "why the fuck this is not Castlevania?" and it went back into being Castlevania.

I know you're memeing but I'd love a new parodius.

It's pretty cool to see the fellow Suikoden fans congregate in these threads

Attached: S2_Jeane.png (340x450, 115K)

Man I really hope we can finally get a rerelease of cv bloodlines through this collection.

Is Konami the type of company to put extra bells and whistles into these collections? Like, I already have some of the originals and I can just emulate the rest. Is there online leaderboards or something at least?

If there's one game I'm completely sure will get in the 4 remaining slots, it's Bloodlines. There's no reason not to put it if they're putting fucking Simon's Revenge.

To be honest, it was confirmed even by the devs that Kojima did almost nothing, he only came to the studio, looked a little, said THIS IS GOOD and left, this 2 or 3 times.
He did helped a little for the japanese translation and voiced the Chupacabra but that's it.

Still more works than he did with Rising, seriously people still think he did the game when he did absolute shit, he wasn't the director, he wasn't the producer, he wasn't the writer, he just had a mention because he was the OG mg creator.

They're putting ebooks with inside info, I think. They're also probably going to put the switch between regions with the older games, but I don't expect much else. Do Castlevania games beyond 1 have score anyway?

they said they are going to add some bonus shit, i'm betting for online multiplayer for Contra.

Legacy of Darkness and Curse of Darkness are actually fun. Not great, but good enough for a playthrough.
