So is Turtlerock studios actually the entirety of the team that worked on L4D/2? Because if they've got the original artists this could actually be a reality.

IIRC it's an early charger design, scrapped because it was too inhuman looking. A large part of the infected design in Left 4 Dead is that they're changed human beings, visually distinguishable as such and not outright monsters or ghouls. The tank is a normal guy with hulk muscles, the witch is just some half-naked girl with long claws, and so on. A lot of concept designs were reworked or dropped completely because of this-- hell, looks more like a zombie gorilla than something that once could have been a sentient human being.

Based on the Sacrifice comic the implication is that the L4D2 survivors are fucked

Did the resources of Hard Rain actually stayed the same? I mostly played versus and was always loaded by the end of the campaings, so I never really noticed

It's for picking off special infected from any distance, they're accurate as fuck and have pretty good damage

They're actually pretty good in higher-tier play. The RoF doesn't matter when your teammates competently cover you and your damage/range output is cucking all the SI in return. Even a scrub can grab the autorifle and hide on the scaffolding in Dark Carnival for an easy win.

I still remember watching the trailer at high school and being pissed that they were releasing a sequel so soon. I ended up prefering the original because L4D2 had too many special infected and it made the game claustrophobic and cluttered. Also L4D1 just had more appealing characters.

A repetitive game about 1v4 gameplay where either the monster curbstomps, the hunters curbstomp, or the match lasts way too long because both sides play too defensively. And also some of the monsters and characters had to be purchased as microtransactions among other shit like skins, in a game where a different character/monster can contain a wholly different playstyle even for a per-class basis. Also e-sports focus with a game that isn't actually good for e-sports.

cold stream is easy on any difficulty if you know shit like the bridge shortcut and staggering hordes

for all of the upgrades L4D2 brought to the table, there's so many niggling compromises for being a console-intended product and a lot of weird bugs they never bothered to fix. even worse with the L4D1 content inclusion, where they never fixed Bill's broken animations or the cast's weird rigging from being slapped onto L4D2 character rigs for quick porting, the mangled first person hands for the 1 cast, and numerous other problems.

They also removed the ragdolling after death because everyone needed to be in the same exact death pose for defibs, it's a shame.

The only time you can see that in 2 is if there's a ledge hanging death.

I loved that detail and I hate that only didn't bring it back in the ports.

It feels like classical fps gaming has died with valve. Seriously when was the last good singleplayer game without ironsight. I am not saying that ironsight is bad but i miss the old fps style. Only examples i know are d44m and shadow warrior reboot.
