Did you visit again their houses after reaching the Cathedral? Because I did 3 of them and when I visited the one after reaching the Cathedral the Heavenly King like acknowdleged me and didnt have to fight it, Im still able to finish it(I havent done it yet because the game burnt me out after softlocking me on several occasions, but after downloading a patch I just need to reach the top of the Cathedral for what I believe is the fourth fucking time and Ill win the game)

The thing about Kaneko's interpretations I feel some people forget is that as ridiculous as they are most of them are true to the figure's lore and based on historical interpretations of them.
For example, in you have the Greek/Roman goddess Artemis/Diana. While the interpretation looks ridiculous it's actually based on Roman statues of her. Here you have a statue of Diana from the 2nd Century, true to the Kaneko illustration she is covered in breasts to represent her as a goddess of fertility.
