>Why yes, I am going to play the Horde
It's up between a warrior and a paladin.
Warrior because i fucking hate dealing with other tanks and i can tell dps warriors to fuck off. Downsides being that they are expensive to raid with and respecs for pvp will cost a lot.
Paladin because and they are cheap to raid with + i don't have to respec to pvp, but i don't get to play as a god mode warrior.
I'll probably roll paladin since I really do not have the time anymore to make a warrior worth it.
From my experience on pservers 3-4K was a really nice mark where you can pretty much do any group content you want whenever you want. Over 5K and it starts feeling really crowded.
Im not really sure but I hate the purists crying that it should be 3k because thats what it was in vanilla.
There's some legit reason for having a lower cap. Even back in vanilla high pop servers could be a nightmare to quest on, especially during peak times. So if you more than double the cap you either also need to accept sharding or get used to fighting a shit load of people for mobs, even if you're in a group.
the problem with high pop servers is that you get into the same problem as dungeon finder has. you end up in a dungeon with a bunch of people you are likely to never see again so they ninja loot etc and be assholes. The community self policing itself is a pipe dream when there are 10k people playing on the same server.
Also having every pack of mobs contested by 3-4 people is not fun.
please be troll rogue
yeah sure
Reminder that Classic isn't gonna have dynamic respawn timers that pservers use. Instead of taking 5-7 minutes to respawn Black Lotus will take 2 hours to respawn. Instead of being able to drop the Onixia buff whenever it will only be availible once every 6 hours. Having huge server population would drive the prices and community up the fucking wall.
I really hope their design philosophy is essentially just mechanically recreating the sandbox and engine of what classic wow really was as opposed to attempting to artificially recreate it by curbing player behavior such as balancing classes, sharding, mafia controls and population caps.
The last worry is their zero tolerance policy in chat. People could get away with spamming the n-word on PServers with a mute or a slap on the wrist and I hope it's the same way in classic It won't be.
k
All dynamic spawn timers were on Pservers was:
>(Base time) * (Current PServer Pop/Original Server Pop {2500})
I know because I would track Lupos for weeks and hunt Black Lotuses. If they actually do create a +2.5k servers they will likely do the same thing.
hoping for mage
I was thinking Troll or Orc shaman actually. Still haven't decided on that. Certainly not a tauren, since I'll probably make a druid later. Armour looks better on the Orcs, but Trolls are cool too, I just can't decide.
checking to see what numbers i get
which used to be called 'rollin' but is now flagged as spam
I understand the reasoning but I played back on Nost when it peaked at 12k players (assuming those numbers were real) the only real problem I had was with long respawn timers on elite quest mobs.
I can see the issue with this, but does doubling the server pop necessarily double the number of raiders? I feel like 5-7k pop would be decent.
I remember literally setting a timer for 4am 10 minutes before he would spawn to try and snag him. If I failed I would just get his timer again, set another alarm and then go back to sleep.
Emerald Dream has a nice balance for a:h
hey guys, while cleaning out my garage I found this 17 year old crossword puzzle that was in the local newspaper. I also have the newspaper from the week after which has the answer key. yep, this 17 year old solved crossword puzzle will surely be a challenge for me as I consult the answer key. but, to guarantee a perfect clear, I will physically train myself as if training for a triathlon, and mentally train myself by intensely studying a wildly varying array of topics with a hired tutor, all while I ingest nootropics such as Alphabrain and Shroomtech to give myself that sharp mental edge required for this seemingly-impossible crossword puzzle that I, just to clarify, have the answer key to. I even wrote this computer program to sound an alarm and notify me of the actions I need to take while filling out this crossword puzzle. yep, I need to be 1000% in my peak form - min/maxed, if you will - to fill out this already solved crossword puzzle. and before you ask - yes, I will insult and look down upon everyone who didn't go through the same motions as me while filling out this crossword puzzle while consulting the answer key.
remember classic servers will be regional.
on pservers now with high pop, there is no "downtime", only rotating prime-times.
Also like this dude said: Especially if loot trading stays in, it will be the path of least resistance to obtaining loot and will be normalized quickly. 3 dudes playing together and all rolling on shit you want and you let the server know - with 10k players they'll get away with it. 3k things like server identity can come into play.
...
>Allow me to apply retail behavior and motives to Classic WoW
>"Aha! Surely this will make sense!"

Rolling.
It depends on how long the server's been alive. F R E S H Northdale was ridiculous, but right now the early level zones have a nice amount of life to them. There's people everywhere, but not too many that you can't do anything without dynamic respawn rates.
>455235280
Now this is autism
WoW is like Dark Souls. You do crazy shit like grind a crazy amount of mats, get broken pets and min-max 20-min dumpster raids to get OP items and advantages as efficiently as possible for the intrinsic enjoyment of using/having them as opposed to get some sick nasty EPIC GAMER achievement or leaderboard score.
I'd rather have the populations too high than too low, it may be a rough launch but atleast people can level through dungeons/group-up to quest instead of having lots of empty servers in a year which need merging like nu-WoW. I hope they just shard the starting zones for the first week if they're expecting the game to be otherwise unplayable

Never played WoW. When classic comes out, do you guys think i would have more fun on there considering when it first released everyone was experiencing the game for the first time?
You will still have a lot of fun with it, don’t worry. A ton of people are going to be trying it for the first time as well, and all the people who already played it can’t remember shit from 14 years ago
It is about 75% as fun as it used to be.
You'll find that it isn't some magical fairytale MMO of yore and all the magic isn't there, but as you'll level you will slowly realize why kid you liked it in the first place.

Original WoW was the perfect blend of classic MMO immersion and modern convenience.
The nostalgic atmosphere of it gets people playing like they used to back in the day, there's a lot more human interaction than in retail. You'll probably have a good time
We come for the nostalgia
We stay for the gameplay and community
I'm sure there is some pleasure to be derived from forming cartels around important late game mats (devilsaurus mafia being the prime example), but most people would probably just be pissed and complaining. Or switching a server.
rolling my roll
It's a fun game, it's more accessible than current WoW yet it's more difficult. The only people who'll be 'experienced' are those devoutly following guides/private server players, if you've played retail WoW since vanilla and revisit it's like a completely new game from when you played it as a kid, that's atleast how I thought of it when I tried out a private server after hating BfA
Dabbin
And they'll promptly be told to fuck off. Retailfags already lost when Classic was announced and they lost even harder when Blizzard confirmed it's going to be 100% Vanilla, nothing outside of the original Vanilla patches except perhaps for server-side shit. They have absolutely no ground left to stand on, they lost.

How is this for feral?
I sold my account with top geared pvp and pve chars, mounts, achieves and mementos, for a good amount of cash and have 0 regrets, cus the memories are with me.
Yeah you'll have the best time if you go in blind
3k peak, but only when you can maintain that level of regular traffic over the longterm.
>(devilsaurus mafia being the prime example)
That shit wasnt really lucrative for them though due to contestans.
Every contester is a huge pain in the ass and it doesnt take many people to make their farming a hell. You can easily mess with their timers so they dont have time to be at each start of the window and steal few leathers off them. People just give up easily and for most of players, devilsaurs are just automatically a no-go. Go there and fuck with the mafia for fun with few friends, it's really fun.
Literally nobody ever switched a server due to the ds-mafia. After all, they only do it to support Raid/PvP costs, and not to sell.
If you fuck with them, they get insanely butthurt but thats about it.
7.5k is the sweet spot, but blizzard will probably limit it to around 1.5k
I would drop a point in feral faerie fire but otherwise pretty good
And do improved shapeshifting instead of improved roots
>still wracking my brain over what class to play
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Reminder Horde is ez mode with more convenient city/outpost placement, zeps just outside their main cities, and questing zones that don't force flag you for pvp all the way up to level 30 while alliance has shitty outpost placement in all of kalimdor, boats are in the worst fucking places, you get flagged for pvp in Ashenvale, Redridge, Duskwood, and Wetlands making gank squads extremely common and basically forcing you to deal with them during that level bracket, and even the BB-Ratchet boat deposits you in a Horde-controlled zone where you're flagged but Horde can bluewall you. Even the seemingly convenient close proximity of IF and SW to early endgame content in Blackrock Mountain and Ony's Lair is misleading as horde min/maxers get to take a much faster and more convenient route to all the major world buffs before stopping there. All this and Horde has far and away better pvp racials. The only thing Alliance has going for it is paladins which, to be fair, are generally speaking better than Shamans.
I was thinking Feral Fire would be a decent counter to Rogues.
You haven’t played WoW until you’ve taken an undead mage through AQ40.
>Reminder Horde is comfy mode
we're going home boys!
Natural Shapeshifter under balance, right?
It's okay though you have braindead easy Paladins to carry you through content.
Yeah, it helps with procing furor and being able to use more of your abilities (i.e. cat bleed) over the course of a fight
Ah that's true cat bleed would effectively stop a rogue stealthing anyways. How should I deal with shit like blinds? I've never played druid.
I love how you managed to spin the ratchet placement as a Horde positive when in reality it makes one of the most long ass zones in the game one of the easiest to gank for the alliance. Fucking Crossroads are always under attack.
>tfw have a very generic name because i'm not creative and really need to come up with something that sounds good so i can assure i actually get the name
Kill me, Pete.
Abolish poison cast on yourself pre-emptively. It removes poisons for several ticks and will remove blind as well.
Rollan
Attacking town guards is not ganking. Horde are not flagged in The Barrens so even if Alliance did start fucking around over there all the lowbies can just go on about their business and never get killed while high levels can assemble en masse first and then not flag until they're ready to jump the Alliance players.
As someone who played rogue through vanilla, faerie fire is much worse. You can time a vanish between bleed ticks to get off a cheap shot, faerie fire locks you out completely. Shit was the bane of my existence.
>Flag
Lmfao.
Someone didn't play during vanilla on a PvP server.
This, all the way through fucking Cata nearly Faerie Fire was a NIGHTMARE to deal with as a rogue.
And newbies this time around will probably know better than to try and fight back and get flagged , which was fairly common back in the day
Perhaps I would take a single point out of Natural Shapeshifter then and wind up with something like this.
You mean you, right?
Even on a PvP server you don't get flagged for pvp in zones your faction controls. You're not going to be auto-flagged in Durotar, for example. Not that you'd know since you've obviously never played vanilla you shitposting troglodyte.
>pve server

on this topic, does anyone remember if dishonorable kills are going to be a thing in classic? I cant remember what blizz said

I'm going to be honest with you guys, I've been very negative in these threads recently, mostly just to be inciteful and get (you)s, but sometimes I do it as a joke although sarcasm and joking tones can't really be conveyed through text. I feel bad for being a negative person, causing others to get upset, and potentially misinforming a new player by posting an unfunny joke that falls flat.
Every spec can be used to level. You don't have to min/max. You can play what you want how you want and still have the most fun possible. Horde and Alliance are fairly balanced overall. Paladins are a blast to play, and so are shamans. While leveling, warriors, druids, paladins, and shamans can tank easily as long as the group isn't braindead. And at level 60, druids warriors and paladins can still tank any instance. And, although you might not be the first pick, paladins and druids can offtank raid bosses just fine. Remember: a 40-priest raid downed onyxia. Yes: a priest tanked onyxia (youtube.com
I hope you all have an extremely fun experience on the classic servers, and although I won't become a namefag on Yea Forums, I hope we run into each other in-game and have fun together, not knowing that Yea Forums is a bond that we share. Try to refrain from being purposely negative - it'll make you feel less like shit.
>retail retards pretending to know what pvp servers actually are
why are early 2000 yt videos so comfy?
Nigga you dont automatically get flagged unless you're in a contested territory or went into faction territory of the other faction. No matter if you're PvE or PvP.
What PvP realms did was pushing the players into contested areas way earlier than PvE realms.
>bye to demon hunters
>bye to most of your classes
this is how you know this guy is fucking seething, repeating his points by restating them and acting like 3 of the classes disappearing is a big deal

It seems like its entirely based upon 1.12, so don't look forward to it. It'd be fun if they did bring them back, would give people some incentive to gank 16 hours away.

Drop points in roots and put them in natural shapeshifter. It's one of the more important talents there are. Where is your omen of clarity? Definitely get faerie fire too. Not so sure about feral aggression vs feral instinct
You can also consider a 1/29/21 build or one of the more hybrid builds.
It's okay, user. You're still a faggot, but today you were just a little less gay.
Jump on an instant 60 server and try out a few classes. I’m probably not gonna raid, so it’s shadow priest for me, was the most fun class by far.
Honestly I like it fuckhueg. I don’t care about spawns and quests nearly as much as interacting with other people, plus I always have anxiety that I’m not getting the best experience if I’m not on the most popular server. I hate playing a multiplayer game and going for massive long stretches where fucking nobody is there.
Already know I'm going night elf resto druid, this just confirms it.
Literally all of this is good, except for AoE looting.
I hope this nigga got pelted with people blowing him out
Five star post my man, I hope more people follow your example. The best part about vanilla was the great community, let's all prove that we can still be a part of that.

Can't wait to be an undead warlock and be actually fucking relevant in raids again.
also, mandatory minmaxers = faggots
>Honestly I like it fuckhueg.
>I always have anxiety that I’m not getting the best experience if I’m not on the most popular server
Most popular server doesn't mean best exprience though, especially in this case:
>I hate playing a multiplayer game and going for massive long stretches where fucking nobody is there.
If you really wnat people to be around for every step on the way, then the most popular server is probably never a good idea in an mmo. Why? People most popular often means popular for raiding/endgame since guilds switch over.
Sometimes the most popular server can still be a ghost server for 3/4 the way through the game.
Not to mention queue times and such coming in too.
I say this because I used to be like you. Until I had enough of no one around, took a notepad and compared player numbers in various areas(including cities) across 3 selected servers over two weeks, on various times of the day.
And in the end I settled with the server that was only medium sized, because it had the most people around in the zones from start-mid.
The most popular server had people all cramping in late game.
Weren't there mods for aoe looting or am I just high as fuck and miss remembering things? For whatever reason I thought there was a solution for that, but even if not it's really not that bad. Vanilla was a marathon, not a sprint, things took a bit more time but that made them more rewarding- even if a bit tedious at times.
classic.wowhead.com
Considering this. Dropped a point form improved shred because I didn't like the idea of losing leader of the pack.
1.12 yes
The real question is: PvE or PvP?
I came back to WoW briefly in 2013 and checked an old server that was now dead for friends. Everyone has been offline or wasnt to be found anymore and I sent letters to everyone hoping to get something back.
Only one dude(female) wrote me back, now on another server who just came to check on an alt, and we just talked briefly.
Nice feeling knowing that at least one person was still around.
I left a week later or so anyway though...
if there weren't, there most definitley will be.
I can gurantee that most moddesrs (at least the based ones) will make mods specifically for classic or make the current one compatable with classic. I gurantee classic will have a better playerbase, wether it's bigger or smaller compared to retail
Here's an updated version of the roller. I fixed the gender rolling so warriors and paladins aren't bound to a single roll for race/gender. Let me know if you have any suggestions on how to improve it, and be sure to replace any outdated versions you may have with this version.
I agree, its just a QoL thing I didn't mind.
>if there weren't, there most definitley will be
I don't know if that's very likely. Blizzard has already stated that they wont be letting the old automation addons back in like decursive and healbot, so anything that 'plays for you' wont be likely unless the modder can find a clever way around it.
Hadda do it to em
I could literally hear this track in my head throughout the last week
ROLLANDO
Well chances are its based off end legion addon API since that was the client modding point. It'll still have a lot of busted shit.
>The real question is: PvE or PvP?
I've always found that PvP was the more genuine experience. There something so dissonant about seeing someone from the opposing factions, the one that you are locked in perpetual war with, and just waving peacefully. PvP server could be a serious drag at times that for sure, getting camped while you're trying level is frustrating, but it does add something to the experience and gives you a unique challenge to work against. Plus it gets the community more involved. How often do you see Hilsbrad turn in to a warzone on a PvE server? Those moments are magical.
Going home.
Undead male/ f human lock
Undead spriest
F human rogue
Which would be best for doing both raiding and pvp?
I played vanilla but as a small kid so it was extremely casual and I don't remember much about it.
I'm asking because I mainly played PvE back in the day, but I did remember Alliance attacking the crossroads constantly, so I never really thought that it would be a detriment being on PvE since it still happened.
Human rogue would be the best balance if you want to do PvE and PvP, they are near/at the top of both. Only issue is rogue is (or at least was) a very popular class so you had a lot of competition, wasn't always easy to get dungeon/raid spots and when you did you were rolling against several others.
Human rogue
Please don't be troll
qa
Crossroads was just an easy target, and meeting the other faction on their turf was a decent way to coax people in to flagging PvP. But organic world PvP is nonexistent, so outside of those target areas and maybe city raids, you never really see skirmishes. Might be a bit different with the World PvP buffs in the late game zones, but you'll completely miss out on the true STV experience.
Gonna go with this for my NE Tank Druid.
Any adjustment I should make to that build?
I know it's outclasse by Warrior but I'm gonna have fun tanking 5 mans and maybe offtanking in raids.
Anyone got the legion or BFA version of this image?

How garbage were balance druids in vanilla? I hear stories about the worst class but just how bad is it? Can you do some cool feral/balance hybrid? Were they at least alright in pvp?
listen there's a reason people call them OOMkins
>mfw I was on Alleria but didn't realize Risen was that good.

Their pvp damage is weird since casting starfall is nonexistant, but you can just moonfire instant chase people for all of their health but you'll go oom in doing so.
You got any recommendation as to what to drop for it?
Yeah in raids they just ran out of mana and have to use their innervates on themselves instead of healers and be shit damage compared to mages/locks

PLEASE, someone tell me, HOW do I avoid wearing a dress at level 60 as a Paladin? What do I have to do? It can be anything as long as it's a way for me to wear plate.
>3 classes is "most" of them? The only thing I don't like about this list is no AOE looting
You're not going to like this answer but aoe looking is an indirect buff to mages and mages do not need any buffs in 1.12 WoW.
U FUCKING NIGGER
woosh
Literally isn't one.
:^)
(^:
You pretty much have to raid, or just not care about min-maxing. If I remember right the pre raid bis is the dress from UD Strat, but it might be replaced by lawbringer. Never mained paly though so don't take my word for it.
ROLL!
>Paladins learn to wear plate at 40
>apparently there isn't any plate for them to wear
EXPLAIN this one to me then. I haven't played vanilla.
Can I get a list of DPS specs that are viable in vanilla?
they actually do okay damage in pve by spamming starfall, but go oom pretty quickly.
In pvp well.. just watch this youtube.com
grind for grand marshal.
Blizzard was too stupid to itemize gear properly back in 2005.
Early itemization was a joke basically. No one really knew what to stat for, Blizzard included, so at level 60 many classes ended up wearing clown suites of mix-matched gear, some pieces even came from low level dungeon. I think one of the bis rings for dps drops in Maraudon and you wear that well through raid progression.
since you heal and there is not good plate for healers you just roll for cloth gear for healer
Based
FUCK MINMAXING
>Devilsaur mafia
weekly reminder for you zoomers out there that this was not a thing in retail vanilla, is a pserver only thing, and wont be a thing in classic.
If you think it is, your definition of "mafia" is skewed.
The mafia requires three major things which can't happen in classic:
>fuckhuge global servers
we are assuming servers will be blizzlike. a 3k capped server is not going to have enough devilsaur purchasers for a mafia to be worth it (see a few things below)
In addition, it requires tons of people available at all hours. 100 dudes from all over the world running shifts. Servers in classic will be regional, not some nostalrius type where there is no downtime and only rotating prime times.
>faction collusion
This is bannable. While obviously blizz can't control who is in who's discord, they can see that devilsaur is controlled by one group and has the prices fixed on each auction house. Blizz enforces pvp solutions to pvp problems, but when the factions are coordinating there is zero pvp solution - so they ban. Think of it like win-trading in arena except far more obvious.
And the big one:
>RMT
Private server autism is strong but only goes so far. There is a reason beyond something to kek about in discord for controlling devilsaur. That's fun for a few weeks tops and there is only so much gold you practically need.
It was a method to generate gold which was then sold. And private server GMs are either complicit or actively involved. Don't let anyone try to convince you otherwise because they are retarded.
For obvious reasons, blizz bans gold selling even faster than gold buying. And once again this is a situation where its so blindingly obvious to catch that they dont even require their usual investigation.
Without even just one of those things (factions working together, large global server, RMT) the mafia doesn't happen. Anyone talking about devilsaur mafia for classic - or any sort of mafia where the factions collude - is dumb.
Probably a weird question, but how many other games have these "three ways to build your character" thing besides WoW, Diablo, and Borderlands 2 for example?
I always love that shit. I dunno why this three tabs thing is so perfect to me, but I just love it.
Hell feral druids wear a level 40-ish crafted helm as bis for all content.
>tfw you're gonna roll a NE priest and shadowmeld by that horde flight point in felwood and mind control people off the cliff
Itemization is retarded in vanilla, lots of best warrior gear is leather, most of best paladin is cloth, shits dumb all around.
Does Shadow Priest do decent DPS?
Haven't played a pala in vanilla but even if you wear cloth in raids for the love of everything holy don't try to wear it in pvp even if you have to downgrade.
poo poo pee pee
Hell that helm was so good it was their bis for BC as well.
I kind of want to try it, but the budget is tight already.
For the 20 seconds that you have mana, yeah it's great.
I'd say at least 3, just so ganking still works.
You can kill most everyone in a single shadow word pain if you're super end game geared.
Maplestory had thatm kinda.
Like you'd start a Magician and then you pick a path of Priest/Ice+Lightning/Fire+Poison.
I just wish this shit would come out already.
They would if they didn't run out of mana so fast and debuff slots on bosses weren't limited. When debuff slots are raised to 16 you can bring 1 shadow priest to buff shadow damage for other casters but that's all. Spriests are good in pvp but still run out of mana so fast that if you ever have to take on more than one person at a time you'll likely be oom before you can dela with them. Plus you could just be playing a normal priest instead and contributing way more to your group. Either way you can fuck with people in wpvp through mind control. Go hang out at blackrock mountain in your downtime and mind control the healers and tanks of the pugs passing through into the lava. Bonus points if you're a nelf so you can do it out of shadowmeld.
It was standard fare in MMOs back in the day, talent trees. You can thank cry babies on the forums for ruining this. To answer your question, RIFT is another game.

Alliance have paladins and dwarf priests which is such a huge boost in raiding it's not even funny. There's a reason as to why thje vast majority of guilds on this list are alliance. Kinda like how most top tier raiding guilds are horde today because of the racials.
ROLL IT DOWN
>not wanting to wear a mixture of cloth leather and mail healing gear

Come on male Tauren Druid.
ROll
fuck i keep getting a nght elf priestress
If you are in full pre raid BiS
fully enchanted
stocked up on potions and flasks
time your dps rotations perfectly
You will do decent dps
Then you run oom halfway thru the boss fight, and no you can't have the fucking druid innervate that's reserved for the best geared healer.
fagiclcsda
Kor'gall was a great server, RIP childhood.
I dunno I bet I could get the Druid to innervate me given the guild I'm going to be playing with
get bad luck and have it never drop. I got to naxx without that dress because it just didn't want to drop for me.
Oh fuck
thanks bros
see this is the issue. why bring something thats going to compromise the setup if they can just bring a mage that'll do more dps with less effort
lmfao
You're right about paladins but dwarf priests aren't that big a deal. Fear Ward is more reliable than tremor totem for sure since you can apply it as you like and not have to rely on tremor's ticks but tremor still gets the job done just fine. But Paladins let your DPS go harder and not care about threat while also being amazing healers that can save a raid harder than any clutch shaman NS heal can.
I wanna be a DPS War but I don't wanna DW am I fucked
It really just came down to blessing of kings, freedom, and salvation being too good. Horde could deal with no dwarf fear ward perfectly fine with UD tanks and tremor totem.
Kings was especially stupidly good the better gear you got deeper into raiding.
NIGGERS
Anything but warrior
Hmm...but shamans have chain heal.
>UD tank
why bother when you can stance dance?
Completely full, senpai.
For me? Its Dwarf Priest
You can dps as an arms warr and early on you actually have advantages over the fury and rogues who don't have full +hit gear.
The downside is that you will eventually be outpaced towards AQ40 and Naxx and you can only go sword spec + hand of justice (one of the reasons why you will see so many human warrs going arms)
>That's fun for a few weeks tops and there is only so much gold you practically need.
>It was a method to generate gold which was then sold. And private server GMs are either complicit or actively involved
Because the content is on farm and people had UD warrior alts that wanted to try OT'ing
Human Paladin Retri so I can get Sulf and fish in AV during a turtle run
Lets see.
I'm coming home.

It was amazing when WF would proc off WF but then they nerfed that away and serious ahaman pvpers would go ele/resto hybrids and just poop on people from the back with their CL crits.
It was completely normal that back then everyone was looking at guides and using addons.
Still deciding between Tauren War and Shaman. Just excited to be going home bros.
ESKIMO
>The only thing Alliance has going for it is paladins which, to be fair, are generally speaking better than Shamans.
False.
Shamans are much better than Paladins.
Daily reminder that if you intend to play classic for raids you are objectively a fag and should stick to retail.
Rollin'
I'm playing it to grief other players and will be using raids as a means to gear up so I can grief other players.

Nah, paladins are better. BoP and BoS alone make them better but they've also got amazing heals, blessings, freedom, etc. I would say shamans are more FUN though.

All of which the shaman can purge away unless you are talking from a PvE standpoint yes the paladins were better.
>unless you are talking from a PvE standpoint yes the paladins were better.
Simply not true. Stop spreading false information in these threads.
10 minutes ago. I'm already level 5.
rawling
Not only am I going to play classic to do raids but I'm going to play on a PvE server as well so I can have a comfy stress free leveling and farming experience.
A female holy dwarf paladin? Did those even exist???
>implying higher ups won't try and convince Blizzard to put these in
Are you faggots seriously so petty that the absolute MINIATURE different in success rate and speed in completing dungeons given to alliance from paladins is enough to make you
1. Pick a faction entirely based on numbers rather than fun
2. Play a race entirely on numbers rather than fun
3. Play a class entirely on numbers rather than fun
4. Play for fucking HOURS AND HOURS hating leveling JUST to get to raids
5. Proceed to hate that leveling even more because you build your spec for raids instead of enjoying yourself
6. Ignore the hundreds of comfy enjoyable fun guilds just to desperately get into one of the """""Top"""""" guilds so you can play with the poopsock virgins who will finish content maybe a month faster than everyone else then spend the rest of the time infighting and bitching about loot drops
7. Then spend HUNDREDS of hours being the absolute bitch of said guild just so you can MAYBE get better loot SLIGHTLY faster than a normal guild rather than joining a more relaxed guild who raid and MAY be slightly slower but still gets the content done because no raid was ever so difficult to prevent any guild from doing it
What the FUCK is wrong with retail WoW players? Why do they think like this? Why do they legitimize a bad way to play any video game, by reducing it to numbers, then cry when they cant do the shit they hate again? You've had over a decade of WoW being NOTHING BUT A RAID SIMULATOR with every single CHANGE AND UPDATE being focused on RAIDS and you STILL WANT TO FUCK UP CLASSIC? WHY?
Tranquil Air does not come close to the utility and dps boost that Salv provides.
Yes, I'm talking PvE. PvP I think the paladin/shaman differences are actually pretty well balanced. Shaman being an offensive purge machine that makes your melee friends absolute monsters is a cool offset to the incredible defensive utility of paladins.
Classic was retail you idiot
>troll shaman
mah nigga
>level 5 in 10 minutes
Quit lying
Tranquil air is only 10% less, and threat is only a problem on a select few bosses anyways.
This is an acceptable reason to raid.
All instanced content is 100% dogshit and has no place in any MMO.
You're a fag for the first part but the second part is fine.
I'm going to roll but I'm just going to use my last three digits so I don't have to wait for anyone else.
I'm also going to say 1-5 and 6-0 for race pick instead of odd and even so that Male Dwarf and Female Night Elf are back on the table for Paladin and Druid.
It may be announced in tommorow's Q&A. I know it's intended for BfA but if there's a welcome back weekend they'd be retarded for not cashing in on Classics hype by announcing the release date then, the classic content schedule post is even pinned in the current WoW client. The release date HAS to be announced soon
imagine typing all of that...
they are already in: in the base game
putting those in would defeat the whole purpose
pvp holy pally are absolute monsters tho
I had rested xp

A'ight.
Blizzard want it to be like OSRS

my old guild from 2005 was still up when i checked back in wod. I didnt recognize anyone online but i talked to a guy he said old GM is going blind so he cant play anymore.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Paladin Order, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Horde, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in Holy warfare and I'm the top Paladin in the entire Alliance armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with Hammer of Justice the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over Azeroth? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across Azeroth and your Hearthstone is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in Holy combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the Alliance and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo.

JUST PRE ORDERED CLASSIC
THAT EXCLUSIVE EPIC MOUNT IS TOO GOOD TO PASS UP
If they put a cash shop in classic...
Orcs look absolutely fucking retarded wearing robes of any kind.
Also why would you be a shifty motherfucker endangering the Horde with gay-ass dark magic? For the Forsaken it at least makes sense since they're barely part of the Horde.
Why do people keep talking about loot trading being bad? Everyone rolls on boe stuff anyway, and THERE'S NO DUNGEON FINDER! You're not going to get paired (fived?) with three sketchy people from another server in a pug, and even if you do loose a roll, it's fucking vanilla, anything that important is going to be master looted. There's no looking for raid. If you're not in a guild, you won't be looting anything that important.
>reserving items on a lvl 18 dungeon
All that shit will be replaced by SFK/BFD items why would you even bother
You don't try to kill people as a holy pally dummy, your role is to be a top tier heal + buffslut
that are also way more defensively superior to shamans in every way
they were pretty much tanky priests. how is that not good in a pvp environment? + loh "lmao we win this" in a must win fight
How would rolling Herb + Tailor and leaving Alchemy to a bank alt work? It might be hard to get recipes this way
They will most likely do it combined with the holiday events
>tanky priests
Except they don't have shields, no offensive dispels, no fear etc etc. They are absolutely trash.
You will always want to have Engineering and as I said you only need tailoring when ZG is released. Alchemy should always be on an alt.
going HAAAAAMMMMM
they aren't that bad. stop underselling holydins in pvp.
Yea that's my point. He's the biggest bitch out of all Orcs that ever existed.
Rollin'
They really are that bad.
my roll and a friendly reminder to everyone who missed it

you have hoj which most classes can't even trinket out of and also cleanse with renders warlocks and freedom which fucks mages
not to mention bubble LoH etc
someones never pvped with a good holy pally before
orcs were the OG warlocks, my dude
Maintaining engineering might be hard without mining though, tailoring doesn't precisely make much money
dont alliance premades crush horde premades all the time because of paladins...

How much suffering is playing warlock on alliance?

beta detected
>one melee ranged stun
>defensive dispel
>freedom which gets instantly purged
>bubble which gives you a few seconds of cast time before you are controlled again
>loh wow one ability on a 40min cooldown that only heals one person to full
Holy paladins are really not good in pvp, sorry.
Which is why you keep enough mats to sustain you and then have mining on another character.
No, paladins makes zero difference for the better.
>12 seconds of interruptable healing every 5 minutes
Wow it's nothing.jpg
>one melee ranged stun that can be dispeleld
Bad.
>freedom and bop that gets instantly purged
Again, bad.
Which is no loss since they have much better abilities anyways.
this seems like a horrible idea
Suppose I drink the flavour-aid and come with you to what is objectively a side-grade to retail at best.
Why would you need to AOE loot in a game where, at best, one and a half classes can pull off anything remotely close to AOE farming?
fucking niggers
nigger, every single premade in pservers has 1 holy pally. how is this possible if they are so bad?
>people play perfectly and always have the optimum counter composition.
brb
>Except they don't have shields, no offensive dispels, no fear etc etc
shields which are instantly dispelled, fears which are instantly removed, instantly melt to rogues/warriors, priests are just shitty paladins
SHAMY GUD PALY BAD
Sven's are the gay, rollin
Notice how he didn't actually provide any info on why holy paladins are horrible. He's just trolling at this point.
In PvP the hybrids are amazing because they're the only classes who can survive a rogue/warrior's burst. Priests get shredded by any competent warrior/rogue if you're not being assisted by 2 others in a premade group. A priests healing output is useless if they're just going to fall over, I'm never going to play Alliance but paladin's are some of the best healers in PvP and they should be recognised as such since that's one of their only merits
Hypothetical:
Classic is a balls to the wall success and blizzard states that they're going to update it beyond their current roadmap.
Would you prefer TBC as it was or 'new' content (Which may or may not be recycled from other expansions)
An example of 'new' content pulled from my ass.
>The first three zones of Northrend, Borean Tundra, Howling Fjord and Dragonblight.
Different stories to retail, the rest of the continent is blocked off by ice walls, impassable terrain, potentially hordes of undead.
Dick about there for a bit, maybe toss in a couple 1-3 boss raid encounters in the dragon shrine.
Next major update is Azol-nerub zone, underground 'continent' half the size of retail northrend, quests involve three-way conflict between Old-god cultist spiders, Undead spiders, and Spiderbros who dont like being both alive and relatively sane.
This is assuming they can be trusted to make new content without fucking it up, but with MCC coming to steam with the tentative promise of mod support anything seems possible these days.
Rolland and hoppan for something fun
>Thinking a shaman gets to purge that much when they die in 2 globals
whilst the chad paladin just bubbles and heals everyone up
Okay retard.
Yes of course alliance premade run holy paladins because the only other alternative are priests you moron.
>people play perfectly and always have the optimum counter composition.
That's why you premade.
>shields which are instantly dispelled, fears which are instantly removed, instantly melt to rogues/warriors, priests are just shitty paladins
Dispelled by who? Paladins can't dispel, your priest is busy healing and defensive dispelling.
>fears which are instantly removed
Can't be dispelled.
>instantly melt to rogues/warriors
Maybe if you are bad.
>priests are just shitty paladins
Okay this is either bait or delusion. Learn to play.
Yes shamans are much better than paladins.
A priest is never alone against a warrior or a rogue in a premade, and will never be caught up if you play properly either. Paladins are really terrible in pvp which you would know if you have even the slightest experience.
Because bubble has no cooldown or anything.
I gotta go with my favorite healing class for my main, and I like running peoples low level characters through instances by gathering up a huge group of mobs and consecrating them all down at once.
Personally I'd prefer TBC but all-in-all I'm not that interested in Classic as an 'ongoing' game.
>Yes of course alliance premade run holy paladins because the only other alternative are priests you moron.
>pally are worst priest
>this is why alliance run them over priest
roll
>pally cucks thinking their buffs mean shit when i can just sit there dispelling them
This, I'd much rather have TBC with arenas and more viable specs
Roll almighty
>what is composition
Why are you even in these threads with zero knowledge?
I hope hes trolling at this point desu either that or hes obviously never played classic before
>why don't you stack one class in a premade hurr durr
Come back when you actually know something about the game.
so you're saying they have a place in a pvp premade? but how is it possible if they're so bad?
l;ets see
Because alliance don't have shamans. Stacking priests means you are easier to counter, priests also become less valuable the more of them you have because one player can only have one shield and one renew on him at a time. The same counter to one priest will counter three priests just as good.
I can't believe I have to explain babby tier pvp in a discussion like this.
I really hope they just add 'new' content, it'd fracture the community if TBC gets introduced. Just keep adding more 40 man tiers, with tier sets buffing certain underperforming speccs such as Elementals mana issues so they don't have to fuck around with talent overhauls. Lengthy dungeons could always be added to set Classic apart from the speedrunning aspect of nu-WoW. Not everyone would want to transfer to TBC and not everyone who transferred to TBC would like to go to Wrath, making new content which doesn't completely unbalance the game is the thing which would please most people.
It'd be great if those zones were added as a level 50-60 zone (obviously at the same, or slower, xp rate as the alternatives)
Are they /our guys/?
Let us see
>never played vanilla before
>all are complete garbage
Seems to be the trend in this thread to be absolute trash, so yes.
>Pallies bad btw ahahhahaha
twitch.tv
that's the point tho? a pally can make a priest unkillable and then the priest make the team unkillable? or are you so retarded that you can't understand this simple fact?
I thought innervate was resto talent only back then. When did they make it baseline?
hum lock af

>paladin in full premade vs pug uses every cooldown and even then his friend would have been dead had he not used lip
Extremely bad example. LoH is on a 40 minute cooldown how can you possibly think that's a good argument? Jesus christ you are bad.
No a paladin can't make a priest unkillable what planet are you living on? BoP gets insta dispelled, it's a non factor.
Give me something good
Did you miss the freedom, cleansing and the fact that no allies died in that clip you absolute brainlet
yeah how can bubbles heals and a stun help someone surviving. you're right im wrong bro
Yeah, Naxx was still relatively difficult even at 70, I remember groups going in with ~20-25 people then
It's still common for there to be open world firsts on low pop servers, hell I remember being on a Medium pop server for something a while after BfA came out and some group of 120s got the Realm First for Mythic Kil'jaeden
Full premade against a pug you fucking retard. Stop posting anytime.
Wow every 5 minute a paladin is somewhat useful for 12 seconds, amazing class.

Anyone else going on a never-ending killing spree @ 60? I'm making it my life's duty to mercilessly gank across all the busiest spots as much as I possibly can. I will not stop unless I'm either;
1. Banned across all accounts(if there are bots, you better believe I'll be running extra accounts to help my campaign).
2. Lopsided PVP removed(skull-level players may not attack you, unless you attack first).
3. Everyone on the opposite faction quits or exclusively levels in instances.
Anyone that cries will be learnt the arts of gitting fukken good and pvp happened on a pvp server.
I hope to see some of you lads fighting the good fight with me. Azeroth will run red with the blood of the innocent and guilty alike.
I did this on private servers already, I'm upgrading to vending machine
Hillsbred Hills were always my good-to-go ganking spot. Especially when lowbies would bring their main char to get fucked by me or friends again.
Totally agreed.

Fuck TBC and fuck elves.
>They dont raise the level cap.
>They just add new shit you can branch out and do, give professions a bit more love in the form of 'entry' level gear (That you'd have to work for, both acquiring the recipie and the mats themselves) so you're not completely shit out of luck if arriving late to the party.
>Skills and abilities can be given by quests introduced in this new content, to continue progression despite neither the level nor stats increasing.
Shit, now that i actually type that it seems so fucking obvious, why the hell dont we have that.
You lads also gonna listen to 2006 music while playing classic?
The problem with never raising the level cap is that new player compete with people who are way too strong. You can't give sidegrades forever either, it's not fun if your character isn't getting stronger.
Rise Against and Trust Company playlist prepared.
They should leave it the fuck alone
Is the last decade of updates by Blizzard to retail not evidence enough that Blizzard has zero talent?
They are a bunch of casual hacks who pander to instanced raidfags because its easier to make a gear treadmill and cash shop whale store than recreate the greatness of the adventure of playing classic and then adding content to its leveling experience which can be enjoyed for years to come.
The best healer I know is a ret healer pala. I don't know if he's ret cause he brings out his 2h from time to time but the repentance and immunity to cc with hand of sac makes a big difference in small scale skirmishes. So strictly as a healer I'd put pala over shaman. As for shamans considering the burst they have if they need it (meanwhile pala has fuck all dmg) combined with purge I'd say they fair comparably to paladins as a presence in bgs. They're both similarly tanky as well while something like priest is to me downright unplayable just because of how squishy you are.
>spoiling yourself
Also a priest is way more easily controlled. I can 1v2 war/pri as a mage fairly reliably while a shaman could at least earth shock and ground the spell while the war kills me. So yea, pretty garbage. If I were to play priest I'd probably just go shadow unless I were to play with a premade almost exclusively.
