Genuinely curious. Are any of you people who once pirated on PC fairly often who stopped, but are now getting back into piracy again due to the Epic timed exclusivity shenanigans?
Genuinely curious. Are any of you people who once pirated on PC fairly often who stopped...
I never stopped. I started around 2012 when game quality was declining, now I have money saved up and get to game
yep, pirated metro exodus and I really hadn't pirated anything in years
I only have pirated "Hades", not interested in other exclusives
Yeah, I used to keep hard drives full of ISOs back in the day, the cheapness of games on steam and the convenience of it made me drop the habit of pirating when I could often get some good games for like 2-5 euro.
I'm not in a rush to buy new releases, so the only games I'll be pirating will be Phoenix Point and Xcom3 if that is an epic exclusive
So far the Epic store hasn't taken hostage anything that I'm interested in so no, but if they ever manage to do so, I probably will.
I understand where Epic is coming from and why they are doing it, I also understand that in theory competition is good for the customer, but in practice all I see is that nobody actually cares about the customer in this case.
I pirate forever only dumbfucks and poorfags pirate games
Yes. Pirating Outer Worlds when it comes out.
I pirate any game not avaiable on GOG, since both Steam and Epic, according to their own ToS, only license tchem - in other words, lend them. I refuse to pay money to lend a game + needing a separate launcher + not even having the "luxury" of naming the folders however I want.
I never stopped, now I just buy a couple of % of games as I have an actual income now.
I used to pirate and stopped when Steam deals became a thing.
I won't pirate EPIC timed exclusives because none of them interest me enough to even want to play them in the first place.
Metro Exodus, The Sinking City, The Outer Worlds (I keep confusing this with Outer Wilds), Detroit Become Human, etc.
These are all games that I would be on the fence about even if they were on Steam.
Haven't pirated in over a year, but yeah if a game I wanted ever had preorder exclusive content I'd pirate it. Arkham knight is an example since it literally had unique missions and a unique character you could play as, locked behind preorder... or I can pirate it, get the full game with no content left out, and then usually I buy games afterwards if I like them whenever they go on sale, but if there's some jew tactics in the game I keep my money on principle.
yep
yes, fuck epic and fuck niggers
This. I'm so fucking mad
>Metro Exodus
>Phoenix Point
>The Outer Worlds
>Control
Epic really doesn't want me paying for vidya this year
What's worse is that I really wanted to support obsi on this one
At least Hades is releasing on everything once it's out of early access
Yes
I only pirated old games that i couldnt find anywhere anymore.I always plan to Support the developers that create games im interested in but im just gonna pirate outer worlds and exodus because im not gonna Download another launcher thats also vastly inferior.
Well now you really don't have to worry about supporting them. Epic paid for your copy, and Microsoft are the new owners of Obsidian and don't give a shit about the sales of The Outer Worlds because it was made under contract with Private Division before the sale of the company
Well shucks user that actually does make me feel better about it
Plus any sales would go directly to Epic and only Epic before the minimum sales number would be reached, so what's the point?
Makes sense to me. Fuck epic.
I pirate everything except a few multiplayer games here and there. I prefer spending my money on things that can't be pirated.
Haven't pirated in years. I would pirate Epic games, but they don't have anything worth the time. I got enough backlogged titles to last me years.
>Supporting making all games multiplayer games
I was planning to start pirating single player games anyway but this is the nail in the coffin. I don't really give a shit about code monkeys. I'm sure they knew about piracy and poor salaries before getting into the industry so it's their problem.
Never stopped pirating games(even free games)
