For those who
> Are angry at having multiple launchers
> Don't want to pirate
There's Playnite. It's free and open source launcher which showcases your whole game library.
I know it's just a bandaid but some anons prolly didn't knew it.
I also dislike EGS but fuckers got Phoenix Point. I want Phoenix Point and I dislike pirating.
For those hurt by Epic Game Store
I'm fine with multi launchers, but I'm not fine with spyware, especially by chinks
Phoenix Point is the only Epic exclusive that absolutely deserves to be pirated. Hell, it's practically a moral obligation to do so.
The devs actively pursued a deal with Epic, they weren't approached like other devs.
You have to be quite a fucking scumbag to betray your backers like that.
Eh, that's just sign of our times.
> Microsoft spies my Win10
> Google spies my Gmail, Youtube etc.
> Chinks spy hardware - this includes both PC (at components level) and my Xiaomi phone
We're not only paypigs but datapigs for all of them. Also
> I work in business related to big data so I deliver tools for our data overlords
I haven't backed them and I still think they deserve my money if game's good.
Thanks user. Epic and valve both can fuck off though.
Up to you man. If you're fine with that sort of behavior, feel free to use you wallet to voice your approval of it.
>*says someone that proudly has steam installed*
I'm not okay with it but it's not as high on my priority list. There are not that many good games being released these days - I want more good vidya released no matter where.
Thanks I was needing a launch to showcase
ALL MY PIRATE GAMES
PCMR RISE AGAIN
Kill yourself Chinese shill.
Piracy is immoral but it's still better than giving money to China and allowing them full access to your personal information. If it fucks over the Chinese then it's an incredibly moral act.
> Chinese shill
Oh boy. As an europoor I'm so fucking happy when US has all the reigns.
>europoor
Oh that makes sense, you're used to living under an oppressive regime. You're probably already used to pedestrians getting mowed down by trucks and cops refusing to do their job. Go ahead and shitpost while your country still allows you access to the uncensored internet.
Still have to make another account and download that ching chong spyware.
No thanks.
Do I have to install the EGS?
Does Epic get %12 of what I spend?
If so I'll pass.
The multiple launchers are really annoying, but what I really don't want is having multiple accounts with their own settings, data, friends and payment info, fuck that shit.
Every PC gaming consumer will be hurt by the rise of the epic store.
You might hate steam for a lot of things, but the epic store will fuck us all in ways you cannot imagine once it rises to power.
Why do you think all the gaming news sites are shilling it so hard? The same sites in the pockets of major publishers.
Tin foil hat theory: Rapeday was actually created by those pushing the epic store
You idiots realize you can just use the Windows start menu, right?
atleast microsoft and google are in america so its easier to h old them accountable for whatever shit they try to pull.
not taking my chances with Tinnaman square land
Clearly the solution to having too many launchers is to download more launchers. You're a genius.
Get off Yea Forums if you don't want to be spied on.
Do you really wanna help support china, and it's culture to becoming a world power?
what was the last/how often are pc games exclusive to steam? Are there any non-vale games that are steam exclusive? Genuinely wondering
I lock my car doors even though someone could just smash the window if they want in. Apathy is bad, and intentionally inviting more spying just because "eh, someone else is already doing it" is even worse.
And it's only a sign of the times in the first place because of faggots like you that don't even care any more. Grow a fucking spine.
Yet you're on the internet, which is on a PC, with I would be willing to bet cash money has spyware on it.
>I also dislike EGS but fuckers got Phoenix Point. I want Phoenix Point and I dislike pirating.
Fuck you. The devs outright sought out Epic for an exclusivity deal after getting funded by fans and taking pre-orders under the pretense of the game coming to GOG and Steam. Don't support that kind of garbage as a consumer. Don't bring the PC space down to the levels of what's considered okay on consoles
almost all pc games in the 2010s have been steam exclusive, or exclusive to the company that makes the game's launcher
Orrrr just use a folder full of desktop shortcuts.
~80% of PC games are only available through Steam
Thank you Patriot Act. Thank you NSA. Thank you Osama.
Really? I thought anything on steam was also available on gog or....well I guess gog was it.
I'm just extrapolating from games I got through steam that were also available on uplay, or elite and ffxiv which have their own storefronts independent of steam.
So aside from battle.net, which for all I know is older than steam (i'm too lazy to check) and EA, which used to have steam games before Origin, I was under the impression that Epic is the first time a launcher is actively being an asshole about exclusivity deals with games it isn't publishing directly
>I dislike pirating
that's very noble of you but epic store guarantees sales to the devs out of their own pocket so you're literally doing no harm by pirating in this case unless you consider cucking epic as harm which you shouldn't.
Not because Valve paid for it but because it's less money spend.
And believe me, I didn't like finding Steam in fucking retail copies one bit.
I have multiple steam accounts, multiple GOG accounts, multiple uplay accounts and multiple battle.net accounts. Will this detect all the games on all my accounts?
Why?
like, I have a bunch of assassin's creed games through steam, but I could have gotten them through uplay
distance was early access for ages, but it's on the humble store in addition to steam
celeste is on steam but it's also on itch.io
dirt rally is on the humble store and microsoft's store
So just at a glance you can begin to understand my confusion
Interesting, but how does this work? I'm going to assume I still obviously need to have all those other launchers open, logged in and running on the background so that thing can work, yes?
Why what?
I love GOG but for obvious drm-related reasons big mainstream games don't see releases there, at least not until they're a few years old.
The main thing is steam was THE store, epic's launcher is the only store to actually take them on on a similar level. Personally I hate launchers so I've not used steam in more than a decade and just stuck to pirating, gog and itch (also quite recent and not really a direct competitor to steam).
To me, it always felt like an asshole thing when a game was only on steam, especially if its some small indie shit like my summer car which i'd love to actually pay for but never will so long as it needs a fucking client to run.
Why do you have so many accounts?
I use it on the regular, and removed all the launchers from startup
It works great
I had a group of friends that quit gaming and gave me their accounts. They didn't want their accounts going unused so they gave them to me. Their accounts have different games on them. I've been using family share for the steam accounts but the others I have to log in manually to play their games.
It almost certainly just launches the game .exe
It's no different than having start menu shortcuts to your games.
That's fair, my confusion is that with all the "It's okay when steam does it!!" flying around, when has steam ever just knocked on the door of a game already in production and said "hey here's some money, you're gonna tell everyone else to fuck off"
Like, I don't think it quite compares to steam's Early Access system
But that's against to tos user. Accounts are non transferable.
Cool, thanks for the tip
Was using Gameplay Time Tracker to track pirated playtime, will use this now
I cri evrytiem when i do it
But not keeping track of playtime is a benefit of piracy. I don't want to know how long I've spent getting Skyrim to work.
>let's solve the bloatware problem by adding more bloatware
kek, i'm just very autistic about playtime
>play fortnite once to see why it was the new most popular game in the world
>get 10-15 emails a week from Epic saying someone is trying to illegitimately access my account
>this has never happened on steam
Chinese shilling aside, if they can't handle basic security infrastructure I'm definitely not handing them fucking payment info
