There is a prequel in development right?
What do you expect user?
I'm not a fan of prequels so i'm not really excited.
The prequel is Life is Strange 2. It's the same canonical universe. FACT
me wnat to fuck the gator
Wrong thread?
I want more fat art of Gregg.
Night in the Woods is the Doug of video games; the main character fucking sucks and is outclassed by everyone else, only awful spergs can relate to the MC.
I wish this game's concept wasn't handled by a communist.
>leftist "game" with an abundance of LGBT animal people who are against the government and the "alt-right"
No thank you
So, was it explained if they were actually animals? or is just Mae seeing them as animals?
No , i dont play cucked sjw games
When you beat the capitalist cultists do people start starving to death?
I want slavic roof bear to rest his massive ursine cock between my boy buns and hot glue the back of my head.
This game any good? I heard it doesn't have VA which kind of sucks
It's not really even a game
I just redownloaded it for Switch as it was on sale, giving it a second chance because apparently it was patched heavily from the initial PC version. I remember not ""getting"" it on release, the characters weren't my cup of tea and the story fizzled out within an hour, and the gameplay was utter crap
Glorified walking simulator with slight platforming elements for the sake of exploration. Characters are enjoyable and i really dig the overall atmosphere of the game. Look up some gameplay and see if it's something you would want to play.
Then why did you buy it?
...to give it a second chance, brainlet. Are you lacking in reading comprehension or just a bit dense?
Literally no reason to play it. I just watched a no commentary playthrough and I feel like I still got the full experience.
>actually believing this fucking /pol/bait
literally only the MC is against "muh establishment" and it's not really even hinted heavily.
i honestly thought the game was gonna be about ghosts but turns to be some contrived nonsense in keeping "muh smol town" pure. The fucking end of the mine section was dumb as fuck too, lost me at that point to be honest.
If I'm remembering right, the only changes in the new version are filler platformer sections set in a dream.
>Played longest night 10/10 fantasy kino
>get hyped for night in the woods
>it's shit
That was already in the original.
The update adds other things.
>The update adds other things.
Such as?
There are some new characters and things added in, like a parade during the Halloween event.
All the stuff to do with stars was super kino.
Lost Constellation was nice and comfy as well, except all the lol randum humor like "Asscat."
True. Just wish there was more fantasy in the story besides
>muh dreams
>God doesn't exist but i saw him and he's a dick
they also tried to give some mystery to the story with the murder, cemetery, ghost stuff. But it ends up being really underwhelming.
no this "game" is fucking gay
The fact that Mae can walk on power lines confirms she's really a cat person.
>mfw just when i dropped out of collage i played this game and mae resonated with me
The game was at the right time at the right place for me, and I'm glad I played it
It's strange that in such a small team there could be such a disparity between what each theme was leading towards (which in all cases was nothing). The sad thing is that after the two supplementary games you expect that it's going to be mystical and fantastic, but in the end those elements seem as unrealised as everything else.
Doesn't help that the cult from Hot Fuzz were played straight.
Bait or not, it's a hipster game about m-muh narrative that isn't for most people out there.
If you want a good indie game and not a glorified visual novel, try Rain World, for example. Niche product too, but at least it's about gameplay.
don't compare doug to night in the woods you little shit, only one of those things is good
Ah i see, i also remembered the ball of yarn.
it could still be Mae being autistic
>was recommended to me as a detective mystery adventure
>it's just zoomer humour and wacky hijinks of people who wallow in their trash.
First off - I don't want to be reminded of what I am.
Secondly - the writing was bland and unimaginitive, boilerplate hipster shit.
I also didn't get my detective mystery because the centerpoint of the story was Mae and Chucklefucks doing nothing while whining about every single aspect of their lives.
YUM YUM EAT 'EM UP!
I still have mixed feelings about this 'game'. I'll give it that it really nailed the feeling of coming home from school after a time and everything being weird and uncomfortable; had some genuine feels during the first half of the game. The atmosphere was also excellent- any game that takes place during fall just makes me wanna explore and hang out and just take in the ambiance. Likewise, the soundtrack was excellent and most of the time fit the game incredibly well, driving home the weird, uncomfortable nostalgia.
Then you get to the second half and find that the tranny SJW fucks that made this clearly realized that at some point during development it dawned on them that they needed a conflict of some point and since the game takes place during autumn then why not make it some sort of horror-themed story... which is quickly forgotten about so alligator chick can remind you she's a socialist and tranny goat can whine about the alt-right or fascists or whatever.
Seriously, I was almost expecting Lisa Simpson to show up at the end and make poorly veiled complaints about Drumpf as an ending.
>ugh
>...
>I'm trash
>heck
>game about adolescent malaise in sleepy rural americana
>dude Lovecraft and immigrants lmao
I enjoy the atmosphere of the game but the poor plot and questionable writing hold it back from being a classic
jesus christ, how far gone are you
Given that NitW was in development before Trump, I wonder how different things would be if that timeline had shifter more towards the election? At the same time, as anti capitalist as the game can come across, it does address real work, drug and aspiration problems in more rural communities. Too bad it doesn’t do anything more meaningful.
It’s kind of like fallout, under Bethesda, the main story’s kind of ass, but the side stories and side characters make the experience more worthwhile.
I couldn't relate to Mae but I certainly liked her as a character.
I'll grant that it did paint a good picture of how things are getting shittier in small-town America, but yeah, like you said, offered nothing constructive beyond that.
But seriously, I laughed after I played the bit where you go to the party with Bea. Clearly the developers just HAD to shoehorn a trans character in there cuz social justice but holy hell, did they make that tranny goat-antelope-whatever the fuck the most unlikable character in the entire game, easily. Just downright hateful and miserable to be around. Somehow, though, I'm not surprised developers like this would be so tone-deaf...
