What the fuck
What the fuck
here's your 2d zelda bro
Sprites look nice at least
Once again Zelda is playable in every spinoff but not in any of Aonuma's games. It's time, old man, admit that people like girls.
what about it can make you say what the fuck?
>We get this
>But the actual Crypt of the NecroDancer isn't available on Switch
What
Hey, don't you dare say you expected this
necrodancer was great and totally deserved a sequel. Adding LoZ tracks is cool as shit.
Yes it is it has been for a year
I knew the second that the first few beats of the main Zelda theme played that we were in for something special. This will be based.
You expected this
it'll probably be out with it, just wasnt as big to announce
it is though
it is you faggot
i never thought nintendo would lend their ip to some indie games
it took them years to let shit like musou zelda even happen
>looks better than LA remake
Only resetera trannies want to play this garbage.
Looks better than the remake desu.
>Zelda uses a spear
>The spear is known as the weapon of wisdom
Sasuga!
Yeah, i wasn't expecting that. Open with Cuphead and close with this? Fucking Christ, Nintendo.
yeah maybe back in the day, right now everyone can get them if you ask them and if you are popular enough
you get surprised by nothing , user
I'm Impressed.
BASED
I sure as shit did not expect this.
Necrodancer is a good game, and I'm sure this one will be too.
Looks fucking amazing
not just track, basically a full world and levels with it
BASED AS FUCK HOLY SHIT
>Literally a better looking Link's Awakening remake than the real one
>With a playable Zelda to boot
Sad. I'll be looking forward to this
This
FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK I am so excited
This looks so fucking good holy SHIT
When they first appeared I assumed it was just non canon playable characters, imagine my surprise when I see the title.
Like, fucking unreal, bro
and they were the only 2 things worth a damn in the whole presentation
25 mins of filler bookended by their only 2 actual announcements
is it dlc or a whole new game?
Why is Cadence so buff in this game?
>technoshit with Zelda medley
That music is fucking garbage
Whole new title.
NINTENDO EXCLUSIVE
I don't believe you
New game
>tfw it looks better than the LA remake
>consoleshit is so creatively bankrupt they are getting pc devs to make games for their main IPs
this, of all the indies Nintendo could've lent their IP to Crypt of the Necrodancer was kind of a dumb choice.
I have no problem with this
Necrodancer is a good concept, with fun and unique gameplay
It honestly needed a sequel
>love necrodancer, want more
>get this
fucking monkey's paw
CADENCE FOR SMASH
bruh...
>danny baranowsky on zelda remixes
I am cum
what is wrong with you? it looks dope as shit
Darkwood was also a great announcement, you fag.
yeah, but what nu/v/ doesn't realize is that pc is in a damn golden age right now and they are being thrown scraps. and whats worse, a promising dev has now been yanked into making console exclusives.
This was by far the best indie showcase they've done so far.
well if my playtime is canon she's been dancing for fifty hours straight
>PC is in a golden age
L O L
Eh they´re basically letting some indie devs use their IPs. That fact alone is mind boggling.
>star fox gang in starlink
>link and zelda in necrodancer
So who's next for Nintendo to loan out to third party developers?
strawpoll.com
Here guys
it does, but i would have preferred to have an actual sequel. I couldn't care less for zelda.
You’ve GOT to be kidding
which pretentious indiecrap was that again?
Will this one have a huge tit mod too?
Mario in Mortal Kombat
You forgot Mario + Rabbids
Which was legit one of the best games of 2017
You forgot Mario in a Ribbids game.
They had a lot of good shit here
>Cuphead
>My Friend Pedro
>That samurai game
>That mutant Double Fine game
>The pinball game
>A fucking Zelda rhythm game.
Holy shit is Danny really the composer again?
Looks 10x better than the LA remake
some of the games being released/worked on right now are on par with microprose, SSI, westwood, etc.
I've always thought that were Nintendo to crossover with Mortal Kombat, that Ridley would be a prime character to do it with
They're really the only character that could fit into a scenario like that and Nintendo would allow to get gorey
The DK Crew in Ape Escape
Crypt of the Necrodancer was dope. Will get this. Also maybe cuphead
>No one cares for the sledding game
It's because of the dogs dying isn't it?
Samus in DoA6.
Yes. No one cares about the woman but DON'T BULLY THE DOGS YOU FUCKING BEAR
>better art style than links Awakening remeake
Wtf nintendo
I'll keep tabs on it because the setting looks pretty neat but I need to see some actual gameplay first
>Captain Falcon in Mortal Kombat
Don't forget Mario and the Rabbids, that's an Ubisoft made game.
The Kongs in Banjo-Threeie
>tfw I'm the only person who cares for the Blaster Master sequel
>Crypt of the Necrodancer Link is x10 more charming than in Link's Awakening
I'm fucking livid.
>game is shit
>zelda IP tainted forever
Even CD-i will look good next to this leaf shit, lmao
Samus in cooking mama
who
what
Based as fuck, looking forward to it
Shulk in Soul Calibur
I liked the look of it but how can you just kill a dog in a trailer like that?
Literally soul vs soulless
peach and daisy in Senran kagura
You would have bitched and called it soulless pixelshit anyway.
Ridley in Mortal Kombat
Is this game good or something?
The woman voice makes me angry
Metroid and dead space crossovers where a new variation of X virus merges with the necromorphs
It looks cool, it's out today, and it's $10. I see no reason not to get it
>somewhat obscure western Indie game can cross over with one of Nintendo's biggest franchises
Is it really this easy?
It could be cool
>fatality is a Falcon Punch that ends in a gore explosion
That would be sweet
A fucking indie Zelda game collab looks more Zelda than Link's Awakening by Nintendo
Well, Katana Zero have the main character being shot up with drugs in the trailer. Seems like nu-Nintendo don't give a fuck.
You barely hear it ingame, the plot isn't more than an excuse for the gameplay (a good one, tho).
IT's a pretty unique and fun game with an expansion out that's included wth the base game on switch and other consoles iirc.
>The woman voice makes me angry
you alright pal?
that game didn't deserve to be as good as it was, holy shit
I think you literally just have to ask, and if your project is solid they will accept but they'll valid every milestone so you can't really go as lazy as usual indie game dev go.
The voice and story of the first game didn't fit well with the gameplay and general feel of it. Everyone played on Arcade to skip any of that junk to just dance.
Of course it would. Being a third-party means they would try and capture the spirit of the franchise as much as possible instead of trying to experiment with it.
>implying Nintendo would give their ip to someone who might fuck it up
pixel art can be done right and I would've gladly taken well-done sprites over the current LA remake designs
I didnt mind the story, it was worth looking at once then skipping afterward
Is the unmodability of the Switch version a deal breaker or is it still good on the Switch?
I was going to get it when it was 80 percent off, but in the end I didn't since I figured mods on PC would make it superior.
But with the Switch getting an exclusive sequel like this I'd kind of want both games on the same system.
strawpoll.com
Reposting
Would play
I’d be Samus’ cooking papa
Human traits can incite negative reactions in people, user.
Just look at this cunt evan lahti's annoying face. Tell me honestly you don't want to punch it.
How does Ninty keep on winning?
What's interesting is that Nintendo is letting indie devs use their IP's. This could open the door for some interesting partnerships in the future.
That ninja game looked promising at first until the twist.
And that shooter near the start might be cool.
The best horror game of the past few years
All the exercise she got in the previous game.
It sucks if you don't own a Switch
Captain Olimar and the Pikmin in Hollow Knight
That would be awesome, but so out of place tonally.
I'm not gonna lie, it'd be nice to have a metroid X doom, but more leaning to a metroid game than a doom game.
I'd rather have something a minority would bitch at because hurr pixels than that abomination
I'll say it right here, ALBW looks better than the LA remake
Duck Hunt in Untitled Goose Game
Why are we letting indies dev invested with all kind of weirdos do whatever they want to a beloved series?
Like you just know we are going to get an interview where one of the developers is gonna think highly of (it)self saying that they won't do it unless Zelda is playable.
well that's usually how it works
So does this one have hearts? I couldn't play the original game because of that.
Aonuma, there's literally nothing wrong with playable Zelda.
>Why are we letting indies dev invested with all kind of weirdos do whatever they want to a beloved series?
Because they definitely don't do "whatever they want" and because they have proven they can make a good game.
The deal usually includes conditions on the depiction of the characters and advising from people with experience in the industry, it benefits both parts and makes for interesting concepts, everybody wins really.
what
I don't know why, but I started tearing up when the Zelda theme started playing. I'm not usually someone who cries at dumb shit, but I just love both rhythm games and Zelda so much.
Katana Zero looks great.
How was that the purple pikmin's fault?
Zelda being playable in a mainline game is the worst thing ever.
She has a sentimental value, and making her playable with take that away. Like if Lord of The Rings was told from Gandalf's perspective.
Pussy
Have sex.
Not a high bar to pass.
You say that as if there was ever a time you did not play as link in mainline zelda titles.
I worry for you if this isn't bait.
Xenoblade protags in Soul Calibur.
Being able to swap between the two would be cool.
you are a homosexual.
That's literally opposite of what is said in that post.
No, it's because of the shitty MUH FEELINGS MUH DEPRESSION forced storyline. If it was just a proceduraly generated roguelite survival dog sledding simulator I'd play it but I won't because I don't want some woman narrate me her life problems.
For me, it's that when they hyped it up they made it sound like a racing game, so I was completely let down that it wasn't.
He said that it is an aonuma thing though.
>What is Spirit Tracks
I'm not a Zoomer, Zoomer. Fuck your unity paste and drop graphics.
I bet you like being pussy-whiped.
Nobody wants Zelda to be playable in a mainline game expect trannies. It has been shown and proven in statistical game data people always go for the male 80% of the time at least. If they fuck up the next Zelda game by having two playable characters work to satisfy waifufags and Restfaggots and gonna REEE so FUCKING HARD.
.
Would unironically want
I just want a character who plays differently.
wait, spike chunsoft's involved? is this a zelda mystery dungeon game?
Never played Necrodancer but will pick this up for sure.
Probably just publishing a physical release.
Good job Yea Forums
No, Spike Chunsoft also made a Crypt of the Necrodancer game and it wasn't MD. They called it Mystery Chronicles. Probably because it plays too differently from MD games. I haven't played neither of the two games though, I wouldn't be surprised if Mystery Chronicles had some MD elements.
about time, hopefully this means more Cadence porn
Here's an argument: in several games Zelda is presented as a proactive character, sometimes in a different way from Link, sometimes the same way, but she is never allowed to actually do anything besides casting Light on Ganon and giving you Light Arrows because Aonuma is afraid of cooties. Special shoutout to Wind Waker stripping Zelda tf Tetra personality and to Skyward Sword where Zelda was a knight just like Link but got stuffed into a crystal for 80% of the game anyway. It's just bad writing.
I personally don't care about Zelda being playable but I think it'd be dope if you could have her be a partner NPC in a game like BotW where she'd tag along for a dungeon or two so you could, as a player, not just in cutscenes, have time to appreciate the character, in a manner similar to Ico. Spirit Tracks did this and it was great.
NINTENDO, HIRE THAT MAN
>a zelda mystery dungeon game
Why is not a thing.
Why has Nintendo slept on the spin-off potential of the zelda series.
Different character that doesn't have a baggage of being a freakn PRINCESS.
>Why is not a thing
Because Mystery Dungeon sucks.
Except it's a spin-off.
And Hyrule Warriors happened years ago.
Are you being retarded on purpose?
This looks visually good but the retarded slow hopping movement looks like shit and makes me not want to play it at all. As someone who never played a necrodancer game, is this just how they are? Hop based movement? Can I not hop to move?
Imagine having this shit of an op(onion)
Cardiophobia. Don't ask how it happened, it just did.
Also it pisses me off at how many games put them in these days.
Spirit Tracks also gave you Zelda as a companion without taking away the plot of rescuing her that Nintendo seems to adore so much.
Samus in a shantae game.
It's a grid based rhythm game you dingus. The hop is to emphasize the beat
No.
it's a rhythm game user
based retard. final fantasy and pokemon have both had kino mystery dungeon games. there's no reason at all why zelda - a franchise built around dungeon crawling - couldn't do the same.
Not that user but I've never understood the appeal of Mystery Dungeon games. I've tried Shrien, a couple of the pokemon ones and the EO one. They just feel like watered down mediocre roguelikes to me.
Hyrule warriors had like 13 zeldas playable cunts
no switch no sequel to enjoy kinda dumb this could have been nintendos way to break the ice in the PC market;especially considering this was originally a PC exclusive.
I understand it's a rhythm game, but that's unfortunate. I was going to buy it if I wasn't forced to autisticly hop everywhere I went. Could have easily been a rhythm game without hopping around like an amphibian furfag. Call me when that's modded out.
Not gonna lie, this seems amazing - though I loved the original CotN too.
why does link hop around the map? it looks stupid as fuck
it's roguelikes but more accessible and with heavy jrpg influence
based
fucking bottom of the barrel gameplay
this looks better than any 2d zelda since the GBA era
>when you want this more than the remake of link's awakening
Strange kind of feel, CotND was pretty damn fun and I like Zelda a lot so
which games did you play you little shit
The hopping is from the original necrodancer. Movement is based on the beat of the song, as in you can only move with the beat (unless you play EZ mode Bard), so the hopping is meant to emphasize that. Like you're bouncing along to the beat.
Explorers of Sky.
The entire thing was one of my worst experiences with a video game period. Dialogue was blatantly tailored to "just started reading" children over being an all-ages thing, and the gameplay is just pure tedious monotony.
The production art is meh but this actually looks better than Awakening remake.
>a game for children is for children
whoa... you sure are smart user
did you at least complete zero island south?
I never played the first game?
what kind of game is this? dungeon crawler?
"All ages" and "For Children" are two VERY different things, manchild.
Iditarod isn't really a race about speed as so much as it's endurance and resource managment. You might not like it but adding on the survival element is the only way to keep it interesting throughout the game as otherwise, it's just having your dogs follow a trail.
It's pokemon, of course it's simplified. Try playing Shiren for SFC or PSV
I'm actually looking forward to this. Necrodancer with LoZ levels and music. Especially with music from Link's Awakening
Why do weebs like rhythm games so much? One of the most worthless genres of games out there right next to VN's.
Turn based rhythm game roguelike
Basically it plays like a standard turn based roguelike, but the turns advance automatically to the beat of the song and you have to time all of your movements along with it. Makes the game pretty hectic as you can't just stop and think everything through like most roguelikes
It ends up feeling almost like a puzzle game where you have to figure out how to manipulate each enemies patterned movements to put yourself in a good position to kill them, all in tune with awesome music
Rhythm-based roguelite. Dungeons are randomized with items scattered throughout. Goal is to beat the miniboss to open the exit of the floor. Characters only move on the beat of the song, unless you play the Bard in the first game.
it's pathetic how insecure you are. you played a game for children. children's games are also enjoyable by people of all ages. stop being so autistic. it's a game for children and that's fine. it's what it's supposed to be. and you're retarded for not being able to accept that.
now answer my question. did you complete zero island south?
as someone who hates indieshit and especially indie pixelshit, the only reason i'm even giving this a chance is because it has nintendo, chunsoft and a recognizable ip on board. that should be enough checks and balances to keep them from ruining it with the usual indie bullshit.
Based. Eager for it.
The art style reminded me of Minish Cap. I'll take it.
thanks anons, might look into it
The original necrodancer is indie, but this Candence of Hyrule is probably developed by the japanese company Spike Chunsoft
Brace Yourself Games probably gave the ip to Spike Chunsoft
if thats true, i think Candence of Hyrule isn't indie
Agreed about VNs, but how the fuck can you think rhythm games are shit? Anyone who really enjoys vidya has respect for every single genre there is, because they all have their gems except for VNs and cinematic 3rd person shooters
>Necrodancer was kino
>fused with Zelda
Fuck yes. This is the big announcement of the event for me unless something really big tops it in the next few days.
Visual novels aren't video games.
When I think of rhythm games, the first shit that comes to my mind is garbage like Idol Master, Guitar Hero/Rock Band and OSU. Sure there's some based rhythm games like DDR and beatsaber but as a whole, the genre reeks of "why am I doing this".
I just don't see the appeal or the long term satisfaction from playing them, since once you play a song or a section, you've basically played the entire game already. There's no meaningful unlocks other than just more songs and there's no progression other than just simply getting a higher score which amounts to absolutely nothing and nobody cares. This Necrodancer game I can see having at least some actual progression since its a Zelda collaboration so it gets a pass but everything else is not worth anyones time.
Dude, just pirate of Necrodancer. There's a GOG version. You can figure it out. It ain't your traditional rhythm game.
I'm not big into the genre either, but I can respect it. Same with pure racing games, I find them absolutely sleep-inducing but many people seem to enjoy them, and I guess with a proper set up I can see the fun potential. Every genre has its masterpieces.
lol no
rhythm games are boring autistic trash where you press a button when an on-screen icon of that button passes through an outline of that button. the end.
the only passable rhythm games in existence are ones where the rhythm aspect is worked into the gameplay in an intuitive or interesting way, masking the above formula. crypt of the necrodancer and rhythm heaven are some of the only games in the genre to not be total shit.
Racing games are boring as fuck but Midnight Club 2 and Mario Kart are based games. I respect each genre but I also realize their worth as a whole. Some genres are just shit without their very select few titles.
they literally stated it's developped by BYG what are you on about
Spike Chunsoft published Necrodancer in Japan.
Yeah no fuck off. Taiko Drum Master is fun as fuck and I don't give two shits what you say
Wii Sports tennis is the best rhythm game of all time.
Do you even catalog bruh?
I just remembered that Crypt of the Necrodancer has unlockable characters. I wonder if you'll be able to play as other Zelda characters than just Link and Zelda.
Yarn Yoshi in Unravel Two. Samus in a Hyper Light Drifter sequel. Kirby in Runner4.
>Darunia/Daruk/random Goron
>Impa
>Ganon
>Kass as the Bard equivalent
Rhythm games have no interaction, no depth. They have a single correct thing to do in any situation with no interesting decisions. Kind of like how puzzle games are very different from normal games, they can be spoiled, there's one hard coded answer in most cases etc.
Not that I dislike rhythm or puzzle games, but I get where they're coming from. I bought Batman Arkham Asylum expecting action but that is essentially a rhythm game and shallow as fuck as a result
You can't even get 95%+ in Rock Band on Painkiller expert, fuck outta here. "Crypt of the Necrodancer is tr00 rhythm". You probably love Audiosurf too.
>There's no difference between "For children" and "All ages"
Fucking wrong, manchild.
Know the difference, it could save your dignity.
>Bionicles
>not for Children exclusively
I never said Necrodancer was a rhytm game nor shat on rhythm games, chill. Necrodancer has about as much rhythm as Super Mario RPGs with their timed attacks.
Children are literally unable to grasp the lore of Bionicle. It has elements that you CANNOT properly appreciate until you've aged, the telltale sign of good "all ages" media.
>lore
Nigga, Bionicles is only doll collection for boys with a LEGO brand. Claiming otherwise is being delusional.
Shovelware/10
>I'm just going to ignore large chunks of this series because it doesn't suit my argument
I accept your concession. BG NO RE.
Your loss.
>large chunks
Those large chunks were only justification to release more plastics and to encourage kiddies to buy new variants of their favorite characters. I swear to Christ, I'll never understand the BIonicles fandom, even though I owned all the Bohroks, as a kid.
Crypt of the Necrodancer has had a few crossovers so far. They've had a Danganronpa one for example.
Cope.
She also used her rapier in the trailer.
That's because Danganronpa is made by Spike, which also helped CotN.
en.wikipedia.org
I haven't seen anything about Spike Chunsoft helping to make Crypt. In fact Crypt was made by a small Canadian dev
Spike Chunsoft helped to publish the game in Japan, they didn't make the game
Hang on, fucker, what makes Mario Galaxy for children?
Makes for better bait.
I can't believe people are replying to that bait image so seriously
Lack of mechanical depth.
You can keep coming back to every other 3D Mario and getting more and more out of it as your motor skills and general vidya abilities grow. But Galaxy basically ends the skill cap at being able to consistently jump from platform to platform.
Bait
>Electric guitars in Hyrule
DEEPEST LORE
as I said, this is pure autism. embarrassing.
Cope
>This mario game is for everyone
>BUT THIS MARIO GAME IS FOR TODDLERS
This is the most retarded and convoluted fucking shit I've ever seen on this board.
Fixed it, no need to thank me
I get the feeling a good chunk of the media on the right is a case of "I didn't feel challenged therefore this is a kids game."
>Every game in a series is created identical and equal
Nope.
Galaxy is probably the only "for kids" mainline Mario game I can think of right now. 64, Sunshine, and Odyssey all reward being competent at video games and can be enjoyed on multiple levels. And while 3D Land and World are as simplistic in controls they have several worlds worth of demanding levels at the end of the game whereas Galaxy only had 1, as well as 3D Worlds multiplayer allowing you to do a lot more with the game as well.
It's very simple, if you consume media as a kid and then again as an adult, and you don't take away anything extra from it the second time, it was for kids, not for all ages.
Cope, manchild.
Let me bully the dog as a goose and I'll be forever happy
how the fuck are people still replying to that "games for kids" post?
sometimes I forget how braindead most anons are on Yea Forums, you'll reply to even the most obvious bait
>An adult brain wasn't engaged in any capacity
>Somehow this means they shouldn't be counted as children games
I wasn't particularly engaged by God of War or Eternal Darkness when I played them. Are they kids games by my definition?
>If I act willfully retarded then the person I'm arguing with will look stupid!
hahah no ur le men child get pwnd xD
>ur dumb
Yea Forums astounds me again with their capability to argue.
Maybe if you hadn't been consuming childrens media your entire life you'd be capable of using context clues to determine why any old game that bores you doesn't count as a children's games.
Galaxy had the post game stars which were spread across all of the levels, it wasn't just one world
A mediocre zelda game
That guy is just baiting, there's no way he's THAT retarded. That's too much even for this board.
Those weren't demanding though. That's like bragging about that annoying scavenger hunt you have to do in Sunshine.
>Mortal Kombat was my first game
Yeah, you're right. That game wasn't engaging either since you could win by spamming blindly. I should have tried a not-childrens game like Civilization or Baldurs Gate.
>I'm going to be retarded on purpose, that makes YOU wrong
A lot of the comet levels were
>children exclusively
You must have forgot the autist community that would make their own characters.
>ur dumb
I'm just going to stop trying to produce counterarguments around here. You people don't have the capacity to discuss anything.
He doesn't even want to discuss
Are we not the vocal mayority that wants a playable Zelda obviously in a Zelda game(not in smash or warriors game). Imagine her like a V with summonable atacks.
It wasn't, in fact he may have just saved their lives. No good deed goes unpunished.
T.fatass pikmin
cute pic
