How long will Pokemon last?

How long do you guys think Pokemon will actually last?

I personally think that older players will continue to grow fatigued of the series and Pokemon will continue to over-saturate itself with more games and goods, similar to Yokai Watch where it winds up burning itself out.

Before anyone says that as long as there are kids, there will always be Pokemon games, so it doesn't matter if adults stop playing. I disagree, due to the amount of gen 1 pandering alone, as well as various goods marketed towards adults, I'd say it would be a significant loss.

I was just in Japan recently, and Pokemon did not feel as though it had as strong as a presence as it did even two years ago, when I was there prior. I have no doubt we'll get to a gen 10, but I don't see it lasting through 15. But what do you guys think?

Has a *franchise* killer ever actually succeeded? It feels like Pokemon has just achieved Simpsons status where the creators have actually made an artform out of sustained mediocrity.

Hypnosis is my shit but hypno is not sexually appealing in any way and any porn with him in it is instantly garbage

I don't mind it, unless they draw the hypno as if filling the "ugly fat man" niche.

Until the autistic manchildren die of old age

Hypnoshit isn't nearly as bad as Kaashit though. I fucking hate that snake.

It passed "fad" status and became self-sustaining years ago. Asking how long Pokemon will last is the same as asking how long will Mickey Mouse last.

I want to stick my dick into Hypno.

Hypno has to hypnotize them to do lewd tasks like presenting. I’d rather not have hypno actually fucking anyone

Again. I'll always say this but I think the franchise "died" after Gen 5. Masuda's passion project for a soft reboot didn't bode well, and I feel generations afterward just.. bent over to the hand-holding, linear progression, boring narration and overall quality due to him feeling this is what people wanted given the negative mud sling Gen 5 suffered during its prime. I have the impression no one at Game Freak doesn't give a shit about Pokemon anymore. Its the only franchise people know them for, and it keeps the cash flowing. Just another series reduced into a soulless husk of what it used to be, for better or worse.

In many ways, the soft reboot underperforming (in spite of bringing big numbers still) made them decide to go full pander to oldfags mode on one hand while going full casual on the other hand.
The worst of both worlds.

Just self-insert as the hypno

How is it possible to have taste this shit

For real, I get that it's what generated some people's fetish and everything, but I can't get into anything sexual in which the two participants are a human and a snake. Plus I mostly like femdom hypnosis.

I feel that way, too. With each game it feels like less and less heart or care went into them. I hate using the term 'soul' around here, but Pokemon feels unbelievably lacking. Even in the presentation for Sword and Shield, the ones announcing the game seemed completely bored and uninterested. I didn't really have any hype for the new games, but they killed any small amount I may have had.

I think eventually, if Pokemon starts dwindling in sales, that will be the only time they switch up and try hard on their games. I wonder if by then it would be too late, though.

In an unironic sense, I think Masuda is the biggest Pokemon antagonist, just solely due to how he decided to take such a route after the fact. While I am still a huge fan, I honestly miss how things used to be. 1-5 weren't perfect by any means, but they were solid compared to how casual things are now. The casual approach is fine, but I don't see why Game Freak had to sacrifice some of what made the franchise pretty solid in the first place.
To answer the topic at hand, do I think Pokemon will keep going? Absolutely. They have a massive IP and the audience it aims to will definitely eat everything they shit out. The brand alone carries for sure. But the general hardcore audience and veterans will probably fuck off to play better games, and just lose every ounce of hope for the games. Or just keep relying on the older generations till we get out of this horrible purgatory like myself. Who knows? Only time and the decisions they make going forward will determine the faith and interest of the franchise.

Such pure love.

Hypno by design is the fat ugly man.
He can look good in 0 situations unless they don't show his face, but then you still have his blocky yellow jaundice-y hands and dick.
Gross.

Im not familiar with that fetish
Explain

Hypno is disgusting looking user
You can't change my mind

I agree with you on pretty much everything you said. I do however think that in some years from now, Pokemon will take a big fall in popularity and potentially end.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I've been playing since gen 1 and I'd love for the games to get better. The direction as of late has shaken my confidence, though. We'll see!

Kaa is cute when he's not just "le ebin hypno snake with bimbo #32" though.

For sure. The fad of the series will certainly decay like virtually every media, but I can't help but imagine that every boomer/zoomer in their mother would continue to shill it. I'm still optimistic though.

Again, fingers crossed that Game Freak stops being lazy and innovate while also bringing back the good shit. If not, then I guess I'll stick to enhancement hacks of previous generations. We'll see fellow user amigo.

oh nononononono

We've reached a level of pop culture where super popular things can last for decades.

Look at Batman. Going strong for over 75 years with no sign of fading into obscurity in the next lifetime.

I appreciate your optimism! Pokemon still has so much more potential, it would be amazing if someday Gamefreak takes advantage of it with future games.

....I think I need to start playing some hacks now, haha.

>literally the largest media franchise in the world
>"How long will it last, Yea Forumsros?"
Pokemon isn't going to die anytime soon. It pulls in more money than Marvel and DC combined. The day Pokemon games are no longer made is the day when Disney stops making movies with princesses.

Hypno doesn't really have any "ugly" features except the nose, which is only big.
Depending on style, hypno can look like a normal stylized human/animal hybrid or even cute.

>series has been going strong for 2 decades with almost no sign of slowing down
>HURR WHEN IS IT GOING TO END

Literally never. I think at this point the only thing I’d like to see is new games adding less Pokémon and having more of a focus on previous Pokémon. Obviously maybe 20-40 new ones to keep interest but nothing too crazy.

>Explain
It's still just hypnosis shit but with Kaa from Jungle Book instead. He, like Hypno, is entry level for this stuff and thus very prominent in art.

>I think at this point the only thing I’d like to see is new games adding less Pokémon and having more of a focus on previous Pokémon.
imagine looking at the current state of pokemon and deciding that what it needs is LESS new content and MORE nostalgia pandering.
