Rarely. I only do so when the male is really shit looking and the female isn't. Which is rare. If an artist is that bad, they'll probably be bad for both male and female designs. But there's always exceptions, so like everyone else, I picked female for Pokemon DPPt. And there's a high chance I'll pick female for the upcoming Pokemon Sword/Shield. It depends on a few details I'm waiting for.
