I love women. I have a girlfriend, and some of my favorite games of all time have strong female leads (Rabi-Ribi, Xenoblade X, Super Metroid). However, I draw the line at real world women being shoved where they don't belong.
Women weren't generals, and the few that were (Boudicca, Trung sisters, Joan of Arc) were by and large terrible. Diversity is a fucking blight that's killing Civilization. This is the first Civ game without a real leader for France. Instead we get 2 women who did absolutely shit all. No Louis XVI, no Charlemagne, no Napoleon I/III, just Eleanor of Aquitaine and Catherine de Medici.

There's a difference between forcing female leaders down our throat and historical "what ifs". You can play Germany poorly and not end up anywhere near as successful as Germany in real life, but Germany is still represented faithfully. However, if Germany's leader was the wife of an Emperor, that'd be just cause for outrage.
