RIP Sony, Steam, Microsoft and Nintendo

Hahahaha. Google wins. Switch is useless now since we can portable game with Stadia. PlayStation and Xbox are also dead. PC Gaming is Dead.

Google killed everyone with one stone. Game over. The end.

Only multiplatform games right now, by the time any exclusives are about the hype and novelty will have worn off, streaming isn't the future of gaming, especially when the average connection is shit.

Nice game you got there, would be a shame if someone flew over.

Literally everyone has a smartphone these days, and a good majority have unlimited data. They are gonna use their mobile data to play vidya, what with 5g coming out too. Yeah, input lag isn't gonna be a problem.

Your move, batman.

>can't even stream their own conference without bugs
>a simple fucking video, on their own video plattform

LOL

Where the fuck i supposed to find high speed wifi to play streaming game outdoor?

Free internet in my country is nowhere near 3mb

Unlimited Data I've seen gets locked to 256kbps when you pass their highest package.

Oh boy! This might be even better than GooglePlus!

How fast does internet need to be to stream 4k 60fps?

It's like committing suicide right on stage.

>no torrenting possible anymore
>graphics and content not limit to costumer's PC or consoles
>multiplatform
>no need of wasting resources for producing consoles, PCs and game boxes
They won again

Bro I was so scared I thought Reggie was going to walk out.

>ESO is in there
Legitimately surprised

Consoles are obviously dead, but PC is not going anywhere.

Lmk when a current decent game comes out. That goes for every console.

heyooo

Yes, celebrate being unable to actually have your games, celebrate as they get pulled out and shot and no one, NO ONE will be able to play em anymore.

Cant wait to stream play Candy crush bro!!!

>Impossible to implement to a wide market with today's technology
>It's anti-consumer
Keep it.

Even """""""Unlimited"""""" data plans still deprioritize you after so many gigabytes jackass

>Google killed everyone with one stone.
HAHAHA.
Good joke mate, this shit will flop so hard, it is predetermined. The market is over-saturated with consoles and games.

OP is correct for once and not a faggot.
It's okay when Google does tachyons.

RIP nothing. It's a bunch of nothing with no games or services that haven't been tried or done before elsewhere. I'm glad it wasn't the dreamcast two, otherwise it might be good enough for Google to put their stinky hands on the market. This is mostly a guaranteed failure after MS and Sony show their respective platforms and Nintendo starts putting more games on that switch thing.

Kill yourself Rebecca retard

Yeah. Can't wait to use technology that has been shown to cause brain abnormalities but is still pushed out by a nice suit.

how will xbox and sony recover?

Zoomers BTFO

So it's just cloud computing for gaming? Sounds like something new to try but I genuinely don't see how it could work for things that aren't hardware-intensive games.

How do they expect to service hundreds of thousands of people trying to play the same game? You'd have to downgrade the game incredibly, otherwise you'd need enough computing power equivalent to the consoles/PCs of hundreds and thousands of people.

This might actually be a good thing for Steam as the differences between Stadia's server architecture, and SteamOS / Steam for Linux are minimal.
Both use a GNU/Linux base, use Vulkan as their native API, and have Wine+DXVK for legacy games.
If the second-gen Steam Machine rumors are true they'll even share a hardware platform and the use of the RadV driver.

Gaben has got to be pissed right now though, Google took stuff he built over the last six years, put it on their data center, and calls it their own.

by making games

I can see how this could be competition for the console market. However they lack the demographics, limiting themselves to the US, canada and a few EU nations. This won't replace conventional gaming, especially when it comes to players who want more control and mod support.

We'll see if they can manage but they have quite a huge challenge ahead for themselves.

They already are downgrading, nobody actually believes they are truly rendering full quality right? If they're using our shitty modern compression they could render using all sorts of cost saving techniques like checkerboarding and the like and nobody would notice because of the compression artifacts and quality loss.

>Nintendo

???

I cant understand why Sony/MS are fucked, because they're pretty much dependent on multiplat sales, but Nintendo are pretty much supporting the Switch on their own.

Phil already won E3. All they have to do is show a single game.

This must be a prank by Moot

Microsoft will have xcloud, we will see how that works out. Playstation on the other hand is FUCKED if this becomes the norm. PSnow is awful

Will this kill vidya forever, or will it take us back to a glorious golden age where only the most autistic hobbyists owned gaming hardware?

Finally it feels good to be a thirdworlder.

- Who pays for the bandwidth/box cost?
- How do players buy Stadia games?

My gut tells me this is gonna be a raw deal for devs. The backend comes with expense that scales with userbase, and the frontend leads to F2P designs for seamless experience.

OH NONONO AHAHAHAH
Though to be fair, this is heading the same way

Okay MatPat

you don't think it's going to be a subscription?
f2p makes no sense if nobody pays to you directly

Is this the new laughing whores.jpg?

Crackdown 4!

Get hype boyzzzzz

Exclusive games will save the ass of nintendo and sony.

It's not a subscription.

Not with the instant-access "PLAY" buttons all over the internet being the prime force of user acquisition. It's gonna be a free service from consumer-to-Google.

The costs are gonna be baked into the games via microtransactions and paywalls, like the current crop of games on Google platform (mobile).

Note: High-fidelity games will require more Stadia boxes in the server farm to operate. This means that their cost-per-user is going to be much higher.

Combine with the seemingly mandatory nature of the F2P designs, this means that prettier games will have to be even more aggressive with their monetization.

Playing a game on Stadia, every five minutes your game pauses for a commercial. Pay for Stadia Red to get ad-free gameplay!

That's not the model.
That doesn't even make sense.

There's no way a subscription works to compensate such a wide range of developers fairly. All the existing Netflix-style game services have yet to produce a balanced payout structure.

In the system you're suggesting, AAA titles can't exist. It only rewards the lowest-cost development that sucks in the most time.
