Games with religious themes? Not necessarily family friendly christian games, but anything that tackles the concept of religion would be interesting. Far cry 5 is a decent example, as well as FFX.

The Covenant is a religious orthodoxy and you literally play as a high ranking religious templar hunting heretics in 2.

The father was right OP so if you're a fedora you're in the wrong direction

Actraiser.

You're pretty much God trying to purge the world of evil and help mankind develop into a self-sustaining civilization.

FFX made me an atheist

Dragon Quest VIII did the religious themes way better than FFX did.

almost everything related to master chief is also an allegory for jesus.

Breath of Fire 2 and 4 are decent. Well, I guess the whole series in general deals with religious concepts, but 2 and 4 are definitely more overt about it. Get the re-translation patch for 2, though.

Any RPGs where I can play as a priest/monk but with a more fleshed out relgious structure/system? Morrowind's pilgrimage was cool. Most RPGs have the lazy approach of you just having generic heal/light magic spells but without any of the playstyle differences. It always feels weird killing bandits and thieves as a priest.

For all of Dragon Age Inquisition's flaws, I thought that it had some interesting moments regarding the characters questioning concepts of religious faith in the grand picture of things and how it should be used in the name of the greater good.

Just wish they took it a step further and had more payoff for it in the actual conflict.

this

>a fake game that doesn't understand religion made me an atheist
Sounds like the typical ignorant atheist alright. Just like the ones who magically become atheist because a college professor talked to them one afternoon.

Bloodborne

Agony Unrated. The player character is Nimrod.

Why arent there massive amounts of religious games?
Its so much easier to make them now that almost anyone can make one of their own if they just have the time and money.
Religious organizations are fucking stacked, whats keeping them from making games based on bibble or whatever to brainwash little kids with?

The section with Lupino doesn't really explore religious themes, they just present Lupino as nuts.

Why do we need more when we've already achieved perfection?

Most of it was heavy handed, but the Faith stuff was great. You could see why a lot of people would've chosen that option instead of fighting against it, the music was really effective and they did a good job of making her non-threatening on the surface. I still listen to Oh The Bliss occasionally.
