I loved this game when I played through it in 2008. They threw away so many JRPG conventions. The modern setting was incredible. The character development hit the spot.
I played through to 100 % completion.
What also made it better for me was that I read the manual when I bought it but completely forgot what was in it, so the partners in weeks 2 and 3 were completely a surprise for me.

Played the Switch version and had a comfy time till the final boss where i had to stick it to easy. Don't know if my pin set up was just bad or not but it left me pretty sour. Also a little confused with the ending. Did Neku play the game a fourth time off screen? Or did Mr.H convince Neku to let him go since the game went his way and they didn't need him anymore? I haven't gotten the secret reports yet so I don't know if they explain it later or what.

They explain it in the Secret Reports but essentially when Neku wakes up in the ending, you can see people actually forming a crowd around him instead of just walking past him like in the previous weeks, indicating that he’s alive. As for why Joshua spares him, Neku was a representative of what Joshua thought was wrong with Shibuya, being so self-centered and antagonistic to others that he was willing to kill his own partner if only he can survive. Because of this, Joshua was banking on Neku being unable to change in order to justify erasing Shibuya and constantly tried to egg on Neku to give into his hatred for others and continue onto his path of isolation. However, Neku actually proves Joshua wrong and changes for the better immensely. He grows from someone who couldn’t give two shits about other people into someone who is willing to risk his life for random strangers and be willing to expand his worldview. Because of this, Joshua also starts to reflect on his actions more and decides to give Shibuya another chance. After all, if someone like Neku can change for the better, who’s to say Shibuya can’t?

I'm super glad the Switch version was released. I always felt super awkward playing the original DS version (maybe I'm too much of a pleb?), but the Switch release in co-op made the game so much fan. I loved the music, graphics, UI and the gameplay (though getting used to the controls took a while).
I really liked the game's story. It's short, but it works really well. There's good suspense and some intense plot twists. I wasn't expecting most of what happened.

With f2p multiplayer grinding P2W shooters, you don't get that same set of feel. Honestly, I feel that from 4ch, I get more fun out of talking about some neat new RPG release playing at the same time as other people, rather than some big multiplayer fuckfest.
But a big part of the charm was that after a certain point, EVERYBODY was playing TWEWY, it caught on like wildfire after people got to the 2nd week, and became beloved on here. I literally bought 2 copies after pirating the game at first.

If you have another DS or Wii, use Mingle for the pins that collect Mingle PP. Even a tiny amount of Mingle PP accounts for a huge percentage of the overall PP. Or leave your DS on Mingle mode overnight to collect Aliens.

I'd stay away from using the basic pins for his big moves like this one does. Using the Thunderbolt and Pyrokinesis for the specials is a major waste. Pyrokinesis would work better as a down or back throw and he could use Force Rounds for his Forward Throw like Mewtwo's. Psychokinesis works for the others.
Neutral-B is fine staying a projectile, but I'd probably go with Burst Rounds instead.
Side-B could be Distortion where you charge it up and have it shoot out more projectiles and have the main thing do more damage upon contact.
Up-B could be a Grave Marker instead of a generic teleport where pressing B after the teleport effect could make you crash down.
Down-B could be an Aqua Barrier like Wii Fit Trainer's deep breathing or could be like the one from the Darklit Planets where it stays on Neku for a little while putting on some damage. The second variation wouldn't do any healing though.
His normals are mostly fine, but I'd change his down tilt to include Pyrokinesis by sending a small wave of fire.
His new F-Air could be Lightning Rook except he sends it between two of his hands and pushes it forward like Ness' forward air.
I'd make Casual Pendulum into his Up-Air and his Back-Air could be a Vortex Saber attack.
His D-Air could be him holding down a Splash Core below him, though I guess this is more of a general aerial that could replace the rest.
His N-Air is fine as is.
By looking at this, some gameplay footage and the wiki, I think this makes for a more interesting moveset. It's been a while since I've replayed the game too, if I replay it again I could probably find some other moves that would work too but it is what it is.

I'd keep them confined to one move, like his Down-B so that he has more moves to himself or maybe some of his normals. Like maybe a N-Air where he uses a skateboard, a F-Smash that summons Mr. Mew, or a Down Smash that uses Joshua's Jesus Beams. The Earthbound characters steal moves from their party members, so why can't Neku?
