Literally will if it costs more than Netflix a month.
Upscaling.
Streaming a 5 minute youtube video in 4k takes a fucking ton of internet speed, how the hell are they going to make a full game run smoothly.
>90% of people watch streaming at 1080p using below average 900mb bluray rip torrentmovies
>90% of people will play 900@30fps upscalled to 8K and downscaled to 900p
>they will pay 39.99 month for this
JUST
I'm just wake up
Tell me what is this?
Input lag you could even see in their presentation. Have fun :)
It's the same thing as PSNow but for Ubisoft/EA/Activision games
This has nothing to do with your product, you fucking turds.
You have to pay a monthly sub? Wew.
Already got a PC and consoles that play these multiplatform games, why would I need to pay for anything else?
why do these companies give such a huge shit about graphics, no one fucking cares about seeing individual skin pores on characters jesus christ. graphics peaked in like 2012 and now everyone is making too-far bullshit that runs like ass and blows consoles and pcs up
PCbulls will be uneffected due to "pros", neckbeards, cheapest option for third world countries, everyone owns a pc anyway. Nintendobulls will be unaffected due to kids, accessibility, most popular games aren't online and neck beards.
Sonybros however. OH NONONO it's over
>120 FPS
>Played over the cloud
Nah nigga. Its pure normiebait and I'll defo check it out to see how it is, but as long as the games are streamed from the cloud rather than rendered on your own hardware there will always be some degree of input latency regardless of your streamed FPS.
Yeah just how OnLive killed Sony, right?
>No hacking
>No cheating
>No modding
>No owning any files on your PC
>Streaming
LMAO
Reminds me of how Yea Forums told me OnLive was going to kill steam with it's unstoppable, impossible to fail streaming technology
8K is yesterdays news. 24K is where it's at AMIRITE, FELLOW VIDEO GAMERS?
its just online 2.0 and going to fail same way
Google's new blatant scam machine.
>Lose your subscription because you said mean words online....
Yeah, it will flop
Full seconds of input lag
>input lag
No thanks.
What the hell is this
>literally: Games As a Service! (TM)
fuck this gay earth
Different era. Changes which have happened
>All popular games are online
> zero popular exclusives on PS4/xbone Vs halo back then
>Online subscription required to play games
>Smartphones exist now
It's literally over. Move on.
>39.99 month
>For modern AAA vidya
>For modern AAA vidya they cant mod
>For modern AAA vidya they cant mod or own
Good luck with that
Did they improve it after the AC test? I get a good 800mbps and still had very noticeable input delay, dropped inputs, and artifacting out the ass.
>input lag
>no 240 hz
>compression
heh ill stick my muh pc
Because pushing for graphics is a better financial long term goal than paying people with talent to have a game with good art direction.
Photorealism doesn't need any creativity.
>call someone a dirt muslim
>go to jail
JUST
Imagine the lag especially playing online
>I get a good 800mbps
has nothing to do with latency
It all makes sense now
Well, I guess normalfags won't worry about being tracked 24/7 in what they do in a fucking single player game.
There are "as a service"s that make sense.
Software as a whole isn't one of them.
>No hacking or cheating
That sounds like a challenge.
>All popular games are online
>what is MH:W
>What is RE2
>What is DMC5
>What is Zelda
>What is Sonic
>What is Dragon Quest
>delay between input and output has nothing to do with latency
explain
it's going to be great for the casuals who play sony ""games"".
>implying you own any files on "your" Microsoft(TM) toaster
At best you have a license.
Stadia is by all means worse, but the status quo is also fucking horrendous.
>Different era.
they regulations that cripple american internet have not changed, and will not change in the next 1000 years.
>120 fps
>4k
Yeah, for 10 minutes then the american internet hits data cap, and outside of the US noone will have the bandwidth. Input lag be damned. You really can tell the whole trend is being pushed by retards that haven't played a game in their life.
What's the subscription price? What's the device's price. You're too early shill.
>Onlive 2.0
US Internet is still not good enough for game streaming, you fucks.
>Up to
You have no idea what you are talking about
All these combined are less relevant with normies than ONE of: league, Dota, CS, pubg, Fortnite, apex, cod, FIFA, gta
Stay delusional
What a disaster.
>the future
>for a tiny minority
Mm-hmm.
there are more people IDLING, NOT IN A MATCH in dota right now than all those games combined
let alone something like fortnite, apex, or LoL which each have at least 3 times as many players
>make shitty fan theory videos about games
>get invited to present for google
ummmmmmmmmmm where did i go wrong in my life?
>My ISP shuts me down when I’m a quarter way through my ubimovie for exhausting my data cap.
Then explain retard
And it never will be.
You think any of these monoply companies want to invest in infrastructure and remove datacaps just because google does something? Lolno. It's gonna be rude awakening for google when this fails. Kek.
Not really. Don't like it, but I can see this working with normal people, and those are the relevant people here.
That said, I think Nintendo has chosen the wrong side in this face-off.
Microsoft would love to do the same shit, but they are simply incapable.
It's not that they are convinced that everyone should have a capable machine at home, they simply couldn't pull it off.
I wouldn't say never, but not until like 20 years.
>Thinks gamers will tolerate input lag to use cloud gaming
>as if OnLive didn't try this shit already and prove nobody wanted it
i guess google's in that phase of almost-world-domination where they start to sniff their own farts a little too hard
reminds me of when blizz made the first version of heroes of the storm or when valve revealed artifact
Many people in rural US have far worse internet than some rural Australian.
if it plays somewhat consistently and is cheap it'll do well. just cutting out the hardware costs is a big deal for normies.
Oh? nothing new then
OK GOOGLE HOW DO I WIN THE GAME
onlive tried it 10 years ago, do you think technology hasn't moved on?
>streaming
how many times are they going to try this shit?, it never works
>awakening for google when this fails. Kek
They aren't doing this for profit. They probably own 500k junk computers that can do 10 teraflops (2012~2013 CPU/GPU) instead of selling those old data centers for the chinese they are willing to let users play some AAA trash and profit in the process
>scam
nice misuse of the word user
"Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right A B Start"
>input lag and video lag
>in your single player game
there will be people who will grow up with this shit and deem it normal
welcome to the hyperconnected megacorp world of tomorrow
I want off this boat
JADE
JADE
I WANT TO PLAY JADE'S GAME!
Remember when Sony said in 2006 that the ps3 would be capable of 120 fps ?
Obviously video games aren't shitty enough nowadays so they gotta add input lag
This does seem to me like a grab for the game industry lunch money. Remember when everyone tried to make the new wow and failed miserably? Google is so out of it's depht, it's not even funny. There's a reason Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo are still around.
Jade what have you done to your nose
It's only going to work like the Ouya did, maybe slightly better, if people get get hyped it'd be because they don't know what they're getting into
>Ubisoft
Well, Google shot itself in the feet right there.
That's practically as bad as EA.
Google took rounds in punching her face.
Ouya was local, wasn't it?
It was practically a set-top box.
It really hasn't that much. Internet has the same limitations as before.
Nobody has the fucking internet to use this shit. What are they even thinking announcing this?
jade left ubisoft though she works for google now
Where are the games?
They're selling you a platform to play games with severe input lag. It's a scam.
PSNow also tried it and is still trying it right now with it seen as useless.
Tech's moved on but it isn't enough for the average person
>you know how shitty and slow PSN is? Well imagine that, but in everything because the game is being constantly funneled through your ISP
this
shitters who only play single casuals ABSOLUTELY BTFO
>It really hasn't that much. Internet has the same limitations as before.
maybe in the united states of cuckmerica, everywhere else seems to be doing fine
They are looking for them.
The audience is fucking game devs, and they are looking for devs to produce games for it.
This isn't gonna fucking work. Do they expect it to be played by just 200 google employees with a good internet connection?
>severe input lag
which depends entirely on your internet connection. if you have a shit internet connection you'd have lag anyway. you're a retard.
>Can't wait to play all my favourite EA/Ubi games on my google chrome device and sharing all my gaming on youtube with my favourite streamer while posting about it on google plus
Seriously how fucking disconnected from reality are they?
Isn't it going to work practically everywhere outside the US?
The US have some of the worst consumer grade Internet in the world.
It's a google project, they always flop.
I like how the bitrate started going to shit during that stinger, seems appropriate
tech hasn't moved on though, literally every tech company is looking at subscription services and this is just an extension of that.
>not having AT LEAST 100mbps connection in the current year
The future is now grandpa
>Regulations
Infrastructure and insufficient competition amongst isp is the reason the internet is shit compared to other places.
GAMES
AS
A
SERVICE
GOY
FPBP notice during the entire keynote they don't explain how you pay for games. Fuck google, fuck jade redmond, fuck ubisoft.
Yeah because PSNow has been a hit, hasn't it?
You have to consider how the servers are going to work as well. Where is the footage of it running?
Yeah because the person's connection is the issue.
>you can play it ion your toaster
You can't, since chrome tabs will eat all your ram.
> 8k 200fps
> Game looks like a blurry mess because low textures and low effect quality
Good shit. And they even't talked about pricing or what games will be available.
Wb input lag
Has gaming changed since the last time this was tried though? (what was it, the Ouija or something?)
Input lag obviously matters for any kind of competitive online game, and anything action orientated but will it matter for adventure games? Point and click? I'm not trying to shill this, every time it's been tried it has been a failure and I don't think that will change but I can see genres not caring about the downsides.
>Ping == Bandwidth
Another retard outs himself.
>8K
Yeah sure, good luck with that. I'm sticking with my 1080p monitor you fucking jews
Do you have any idea how fast your internet would have to be to constantly stream even just 60fps at 4k? Most people don't have good enough internet to do it. Then there's input delay as welll to contend with.
This is a very dumb idea since this is supposed to be a "console for everyone".
>severe lag
Citation needed
>PCbulls will be uneffected
The delusion, im a pc gamer and im switching to google
What was Moot thinking when he made this?
Download and upload speeds don't solve input lag retard.
Wrong. It also depends on the service provider and on the stress the servers are suffering at the moment, so you can get fucked at any given moment. Enjoy your constantly lagging experience.
>100mbps
>enough for game streaming
What are you going to play, tetris?
>1080p rendered right on the system
or
>8k with all kinds of bitrate artifacts
Hmm I wonder which is actually better and why 1080p Blu-Rays look better than 4K movies streamed.
>google tech demo has weeb characters
are google, dare I say it, our guys?
>which depends entirely on your internet connection.
*their internet connection to you
>requires google fiber
>input delay on the fucking stage connected to google fiber
Yeah
no
:^)
they're gonna fuse (like weyland-yutani), choose the name:
>googlesoft
>microgle
is this some streaming service or what?
Nintendo has done the only thing that will keep them alive in the hardware world, making a hybrid console/handheld that actually serves a purpose. "Normal" consoles like the PS and Xbox are simply locked down PCs and have ended their evolutionary line while the more gimmicky nature of Nintendo allows them some wiggle room.
Streaming will always be a meme.
>You have to consider how the servers are going to work as well.
Well, Google/Alphabet has data centers all around the world. They are right about that.
>Where is the footage of it running?
Didn't they show some on stage claiming that it was showing the actual product?
gosh user you should really tell google that i'm sure they would love your fucking valuable input lol.
It's OnLive 2.0
There was input delay on their motherfucking heavily scripted demo. Just imagine how bad the real thing is gonna be.
I do think this is the future even if it's an inferior experience. But I don't think this is the time or place it'll take off.
i don't think you need to worry about google's connection to anyone user.
>be american
>get shot
>put on some stadia to relax
>accidentaly put on 8k 120fps quality
>play for 5 minutes
>reach data cap
>slow internet for the rest of the month
>get shot again
look at their presentation when the guy is playing AC. Look at the mouse input lag when he turns the camera
>stream fucks up all the time
>1080p looks worse than a VHS rip
>requires fast internet
There are some cool things but it's not for me.
I don't have to imagine. my internet is shit as is and there's not a chance in hell I'd be able to use stdia on anything near a passable level. dead on arrival
You will be billed by the hour. Different games can charge their own rates. Also, peak hours will be extra.
America's shitty internet has very little to do with regulations and everything to do with low population density and weak antitrust enforcement.
RDR2 sold over a billion on graphics alone. They care because that's all normans care about.
which is?
Playing a game directly after watching the trailer has a ton of potential. Especially if they give you a ~20 minute trial mode for every game. That said, I really don't think enough people have good enough internet for this at this point.
And as someone said in the sticky, google can barely maintain a 24fps livestream let alone a solid 1080p, 60fps game.
>poor people can't afford it ergo dead on arrival
nice reasoning
>I do think this is the future even if it's an inferior experience.
You know, if it ain't broken, you don't need to change it. There's a reason why we still use fucking wheels after thousands of years.
didn't game streaming already flop like 10 fucking years ago
why the hell they try to push this shit again
>pay monthly for game streaming
>now you HAVE to play or else you're not good with money
check fucking mate backlogcucks
Yeah, try to tell a multibillion company that this will make certain genres completely unplayable on their platform. I know something better and more effective: I'll let them go ahead and make an example.
Global Rule 2.
I don't think I've ever heard so many buzzwords crammed into one presentation.
This isn't going to work. Most people don't have access to decent enough internet. Especially all the ameritards with their shit tier ISPs.
>Streaming will always be a meme.
Feels more like reality. Haven't watched regular TV (terrestrial/satellite/cable) in more than a decade.
It's not a matter of poor, I have the best package available in my backwoods state. Unless you live in a fiber city you WILL NOT be able to use stadia
No even the best fiber internet in the country is capable of streaming 4k, 60fps uncompressed. Your """4k""" video will be using shitty youtube/netflix compression techniques that make it look like a pixelated mess.
Well considering the stream rewound itself twice by two seconds with everyone here saying "the stream just rewound" and also YouTube STILL compressing the ever loving shit out of every video uploaded, it's worth worrying.
If old man internet fucked off and we instead got 500G (like 5G but 100x) space satellites for free worldwide internet, google stadia would be easily number 1, but we have shit tier tube based internet which doesn't even reach the moon.
normalfags actually believe this shit will be good
>game streaming
dont think this is gonna take off at all...the US has shit internet speeds outside of major cities. they should at least let you download the games like xbox game pass does
The same reason why VR came back after 20 years even though it was the exact same pile of shit as before, LOOK AT THEM GRAPHIX!!!
Its literally impossible to stream uncompressed 4k/60fps. This will be compressed 4k, so it will look as shitty as a youtube video.
This. Blu-Rays and other uncompressed video in 1080p still look better than 4K streamed.
Did google announce any exclusive games with this platform?
>8k
>120fps
>1500ms of input lag
People don't think lag is that bad because client-server games you're still playing on your local machine, then the inputs are sent to the server. The UI and gameplay still feels responsive (assuming the game is made correctly). Adding even 50ms of latency to menus can make them feel sluggish and "off." Everything that isn't turn based on this platform will be literally, not figuratively but actually literally, unplayable, and turn based games will be so slow they'll feel terrible to play.
If I tell you the word "astroturfing" does it sound new to you?
>streamed VR
Yeah because input lag isn't even more important there.
>stadia gpu for each eye VR
If input is an issue, then yes it will flop.
k
fps
What video cable can even do this? I thought with even DP, 4K can't go above 60fps.
assassins creed :--)
WUSUPPPPPP REDNER GROUP SHILLS
therednergroup.com/
Input was noticeable in the motherfucking presentation, so...
im sad that they did not addres input lag concerns
i thought they would at least try to give some spin about how the data centers would be everywhere in the west so that input lag concerns would be miniscule but they did not even say that directly
all they said is that their network routes were more optimizes than a standard route
I doubt this will happen, so long as russian/italian/hungarian niggers have no internet and like to test their hacking skills, we're good. They'll straight up find a way to emulate the google datacenter, those motherfuckers will do anything to not pay for games.
>implying it's not just googleshills and bots
>50Mb/s
>fucking ton of internet speed
>a stadia gpu could be dedicated to each eye
Even then ping would stay. Waves can only moves so fast and while ridiculous download and upload speeds would allow higher framerates and higher resolutions, it wouldn't affect the actual playability of the game.
we need memes with totally desperate sonyfags and microsoftfags
You're not very smart.
Because all the PC mustard races keep shitting themselves over muh graphics since Cyrsis came out. The problem is this led to companies focusing on graphics, then realizing consoletards will lap up dogshit so long as it looks pretty. Muh graphics was the beginning of the cancer killing the industry and I can only hope it goes terminal soon.
youtube.com
I mean it's not that bad (I have 4k monitor and tv) but the banding artifacts will be noticeable.
They have no idea what's happening, they just look and say "cool", then proceed to believe it'll be great.
2 days after release the same people will be commenting about how bad it is
They can't even get streaming non-interactive media smoothly across connections at 4k, in most of the world 1080p is even spotty to stream seamlessly.
Where the fuck are they pulling these numbers from?
>Doesn't even say what the pricing model is gonna be like
>Doesn't even hint what it's gonna be
You just know it's gonna be complete shit
It hasn't. The physical limitations of distance are still a problem. Until we're using quantum entanglement to send button presses to the server faster than the speed of light, you will not be able to play games over a stream.
lel
>anons try to educate google (yes, google, one of those companies that is close to world domination) on the topic of technology
lol
The input lag would be too much for Tetris
Sorry, I exposed you, Google
Nvm the 30fps video, found 60 and it actually looks better, no banding whatsoever, I guess Youtube improved its algorithms.
youtube.com
So the only issue is latency.
I didn't really think about this before, but wouldn't this mean high power PCs get much more valuable? If they can advertise with what $10000 data centers are able to render and run, then make it look worse on consoles but give options for everything in between on PC, that would be dope. The streaming itself is gonna be trash for core gaming though.
>if it ain't broken
That's one hell of an assumption to make,
The entry to "PC Mustard Race" is sealed off (and comes along with a bunch of VMSNVMD-flavored SM play), and console gaming is an inferior experience.
That's broken in the eyes of any game developer, and that was the audience at this talk.
I'm not thinking this is the future - or at least I hope so -, but I can see why they are doing it.
it's kinda amazing how your kind still can't make proper falseflags
absolutely based
yeah because the whole world is full of rich people like you.
simply epic for the win
y-yeah imagine that...Who doesn't have internet that fast? F-fucking p-poorfags here.
The solution to latency is going to be deploying their custom AMD server hardware all over the place. They're already doing this for their other services.
This reeks of corporate suit pet project
Also
>google can do no wrong.
Google+
What's the point? You don't have to dl the games but you also don't own them? Isn't it just a rental service then?
As long as your connection supports a minimum of 4mb download speed this should be able to work assuming you have a datacenter nearby. Which shouldn't be a problem seeing google has datacenters in literally every major city.
Did you get a reply?
It's literally netflix but with higher fee, input lag and tearing.
Wow, Digital Foundry just put up a shill video telling "why Stadia is the future."
Cables are so 20th century, user.
I have a 200mb/s connection, but still 4k videos don't load and my downloads usually cap at 10mb. Nice gaming.
I like how they use their URL shortener in the showcase even though they're discontinuing it.
PSNow has a dogshit interface, to play shit you have to download their shitty program or app and sign in, wait for it to connect you to a server, it's fucking atrocious. and then on top of that Sony's severs suck ass, I was getting massive latency and picture quality drops on my fiber connection back when they had the free month.
if google can solve both of those problems, like being able to just click a link and play a game demo in a chrome browser, it will be way better than that shit Sony was trying to peddle.
of course if you live in a 3rd world state with shit internet you are shit out of luck. and even if you have fast internet input lag will always be a problem, I wouldn't want to do any serious gaming on it but for casual normie games it sounds good enough. hell RDR2 felt about as bad as playing something on a streaming service and normies gobbled that shit up
Still begging for contracts with e-sports companies to use youtube gaming?
Well, that does fuckall for me because I'm on the other continent in a post-Soviet country.
Those have gotta be google employees
>Stadia already scaring the stupid weeb virgins
so? how does this work? how can their computer stream different games to different people to play at 8k 120fps?
Implying they're not limited by NVidia hardware, like the rest of us.
Also 4K youtube is nothing like 4K when it comes to game footage because compression makes it look like garbage.
so how does save states work there? I mean say I have a save with 50% completion but I wanna revisit a scene in the early parts so I would go to youtube and look up that scene and jump in from the link. what would happen to my save?
>3rd world state
Stop shitting on New York.
They don't deserve that.
You need 15 MBits just for 720p and 30FPS.
>Internet infrastructure barely keeping up with Netflix traffic
>They want to add more network heavy services.
This is going to be hilarious.
100% without any fucking question, and I mean this as an absolutely CERTAINTY, this qualifies as BASED.
>shilling for twitch
snowflake alert
>companies can't be disconnected from their target audience
hmm
>3rd world state
Try 3rd world cunt, you entitled nigger.
The only way this is ever going to work is if Google is planning to put fiber from every customer's house to their datacenter. That's the only way to have minimal input lag and a connection fast enough to even start considering starting to stream at 4k uncompressed, and even then I'm not even sure it's possible.
There is no way they're going to do that obviously, it would cost them billions, so even people that don't have top of the line internet are shit out of luck and will have a terrible experience.
There is no business model here. They made a console "for everyone" but only the lucky few with top tier internet can actually use this service.
Who okay'ed this bullshit?
No but the application was submitted
it's not about your maximum theoretical download speed, it's about what the network can sustain and what the box on the other end can actually push out
>google +
>google buzz
>google glasses
>Google Notebook
>Google Helpouts
>google Picasa
fuck off shill
try living somewhere relevant lmaooooo
shoo shoo google joo
they're so mad lmao... fucking white people suck xD
*crosses legs and places hand on chin*
>hmm, myeees, i think this is going to change the gaming landscape
*farts and whiffs it into own face*
They fell for hype. Rinse and repeat at each E3. Reality sets in fast and hard.
What exactly is going to make Stadia work when pic related was a humongous flop? The fact that Google is backing it? I doubt Google can overcome the massive hurdles in this
Instant failure in America.
...
>which depends entirely on your internet connection
American education.
lol dumb incels :DD
it truly is suffering
Then hope that Google getting devs on their Linux based gaming service for mainstream users in first world countries means those devs will also get on Linux for niche users on their own hardware.
Sony owns Gaikai and bought Onlive and PS Now is okay from what I hear, maybe this will be better given the capital of the company backing it.
If you can't load 4k video on a 200Mb/s connection, you're not getting 200Mb/s. I'm assuming by "downloads usually cap at 10mb" you're actually talking about MB/s, since that what almost all file transfer speeds are given in. You're actually getting ~80Mb/s. Check your network setup.
>dead on arrival
It's not going to be available in India for a while anyway. This will be huge in first world countries with actual infrastructure.
Chinks and Koreans won't even use this either, they might have 5G and shit but they only ever play f2p garbage trash. I don't even think the chinks are allowed to play something like Assassins Creed Odyssey
Besides capitals of America, europe and some asian places, the vast majority of the world can't get acces to decent internet or at least not good enough for 4K or even 1080p at 60fps. Dunno how good Google data center might be when the ISP is choking you for pennies.
My other issue is how will this behave with data plans in phones. Will it pull some trickery to reduce costs are will you really stream 4K to your phone while on the bus and burn through your entire plan in 30min?
I would be able to use it, I just won't unless it has exclusives I like.
Three quarters of America are shit out of luck though. Their ISPs' infrastructure is ancient.
>companies good companies do no wrong
If it's going to have that much input lag in first world countries then NOBODY in india will play it
I still have 10Mb/s, can't get anything better unless I move house, but that costs literally more than a next-gen console.
who cares lmaoo
5G + edge compute
OK, so basically this is a superpowerful service that can be upgraded easily.
Then traditional consoles can't compare, this is the future.
r*dd*t likes it. It might be the Artifact of game "services".
The hurdle that really took OnLive down was their dependence on an OS that they couldn't properly license for cloud use. Microsoft in effect wanted to treat every new instance they spun up as a new Windows install that needed a new unique license.
Google gets around all that by using the stack Valve has built. Open source OS, plus open source hardware drivers, plus open source compatibility solutions means there's no one who can come rent seeking to shut it down.
That's right. Next gen begins NOW.
>2 sec input lag
RIP
What fucking games are you playing on 8k? What size of a screen would you need to even tell a difference from 1080? Do these people think that we just like bigger numbers?
Enjoy chewing through your monthly data allowance in a day.
I have 1.5mb/s. Absolute fastest I can get where I live. Dumb faggot landlord doesn't want to pay for fiber installation, so that's as good as it gets until I buy a house in 2 years.
Honestly if they make it work at 1080p and 60fps they won the market.
90% of console retards would switch instantly.
It doesn't matter anyway majority of the games will be lock in 480-720p and stretched to 8K
Google should, since they presumably aim to make money from this retarded idea.
this is going to kill mobile games lmao, why would you play shitty mobages when you can just boot some Doom?
DAY FUCKING ONE
here's your game experience bro
you know i never thought of it like that
thats the best case scenario along with being completely irrelevant to anyone
Google can market this to anyone in the world who uses their services, which is pretty much anyone.
You just buy a controller and then you can play from anywhere at 1080p and 60fps. Maybe in 4k in a year.
This is a revolution.
>lock in 480-720p and stretched to 8K
That sounds fucking hideous.
you're retarded, you're still being streamed a video, it makes no difference whether its a game or a video
>live outside of the city
>have perfect optical cable straight to google data center
>20ms ping at the very least
>40ms to go to data centre and back
>with perfect conditions
Most of the games are going to be literally unplayable.
>200MB/s connection
>166ms lag
hope it flops and they go billions in the hole because no one wants input lag.
eat shit, google.
>people can barely stream in 1080p without it buffering
>8k
>project stream tested on 200MBPS
>100+ms tatency
Ohohoohooh
Dead on arrival.
Google can market this to literally everyone in the world who use their service.
All you gotta do is buy a controller and then you can play from anywhere at 1080p and 60fps with 4k on the horizon.
This is the future of gaming.
>implying ping depends on bandwidth
Ameritards are insufferable.
Don't forget that movies and TV shows are 24 fps while they are promising 60+.
doom needs attention and candy crush doesn't
8K would noticeably improve any 40" TV. You can see a (small) difference between 1080p and 1440p on a 6" phone. Actually I think 8K would even improve 34"+ monitors.
>170ms of input lag
>during the stage demo
Its already fucking killed itself
>PC 60fps
>79ms latency
Were they using a shit mouse/keyboard combo from over the 15m room or what?
>what is MH:W
Shit
>What is RE2
A bad remake
>What is DMC5
Actually DmC2
>google buys out and bullies competition out
>all games have to be streamed now
>based pajeet lord in charge of internet and FCC bends knee to pajeet lord
>no fast internet for poorfag states and areas
>fast internet only for areas that require upwards six figure salaries to live in
>poorfags left playing old games on rusting old consoles
>new google Yea Forums created where only richfags are allowed to post according to google IP mapping software
>aesthetic Yea Forums on googlechan populated with latest googlebox games running on 8k streamed from fastest computers in world
>poorfag gook moot Yea Forums can only read and cry googlechan as they go back to poorfag Yea Forums with no new anime games
pajeet overlords at google are checkmating betafag NEET virgin Yea Forums every day
is that 100-150ms one-way?
Cause that would mean 250ms input lag at the very least, which is fucking retarded. Good luck playing any action game with that.
They realize their time is up. Most publishers won't stand for it anymore and soon the games won't be sold outside of japan anymore so they'll be forced to pay $80+ shipping to import games.
Fuck I love this timeline.
That difference is down to bitrate and has fuck all to do with resolution at those sizes.
You already made this dumb bait earlier in the thread, retard. Are you that starved for (You)s? Take it an get out of my sight.
*BREATHES IN*
SO THIS
IS THE FUTURE
Google network is scary desu
it's round trip latency, including latency of the display
zoomers here are REEing at latency rates they've been playing at for years on bad TVs
*up to
lmao.
too bad only bots will read that stuff
At least come up with something good so I can make it into copypasta.
turn based JRPGs are about the only genre of game that the Stadia will be able to play with that monstrous input lag
>press jump 3 times
>jumps 5 seconds later, and once
looks fun
>1000x563
.....
DPI has nothing to do with bitrate. You can view a plain text file and notice a huge difference between 4K and 8K at large TV sizes. On smaller screens you can see a difference between 1080p and 4K, take your shitty Xiaomi or 9 year old Nexus phone to a phone carrier and compare your phone with one of the 4K Sony phones. Even you with your pathetic tard brain will see a difference, and that is at 6 inches.
To add to this, wireless A/C 5ghz isnt fast enough to stream uncompressed blurays inside my own house. My media server and whatever I'm watching on need to be wired or I need to set the server to compress the video.
>be american
>see technical fact
>brain gets too hot
>call it a bait
>go out for a walk to cool the brain down
>get shot
Welp. Guess they'll have to focus on walking simulators and movie games.
angry flyovers with shit internet, will never experience a new era of videogames, it feels good.
Haven't had problems with 1080p streaming in years, and I'm on fucking copper.
based cuteposter
it does make a difference retard, for a game you need near zero latency and no buffering. streams these days are 1080p with a shit bitrate and still don't have a playable latency, going even higher is retarded
I got a big shelf full of video games that I own, I don't know what the rest of you retards are doing.
even the last of us would be unplayable with that kind of delay
You're a fucking retard.
>we live in a timeline where there can be lag for singleplayer games
They kindof overestimate how good the internet is the world over, some places just have shitty internet and wont be able to even use this.
>want to integrate it with youtube
>"call it stadia" instead of youplay or yougame
hey retard, high resolution does not matter if the bitrate isn't high enough
>9 year old Nexus
Fuck. 6 year old Nexus 5 reporting in.
From a. Purely challenge point it's fine. But from a practical standpoint...
>doing some kind of live code injection every frame for mods
That sounds like it's not gonna perform so great.
Here's another one (You) poor bastard. I hope your luck turns around someday.
retard, your speed has nothing to do with latency. they are tiny data packets, even the most intense multiplayer games only use like 3-4 mbit.
pajeet detected
Because it's 24fps.
How how many of those “everyone in the world” have internet fast enough to run this?
Why do you post about shit you know nothing about?
>Google hires illegal shits to install google fiber
>Connection constantly fails
>I know bring out a streaming service that only
>I got a big shelf full of video games that I own,
PC games? Aren't those largely "CD" code containers with a castrated installer these days?
It's still a work in progress you fucking morons. With updates being provided on a constant basis it will be better.
Stop trying to scaremonger.
yea but don't forget Microsoft wanted to make the Xbox One always-online and wouldn't play games unless it could get to the internet. San Francisco doesn't seem to be aware that the rest of the world isn't like them.
B*A*S*E*D*
This shit better fail. You don't own your games on this whatsoever.
Also how many of those GPU servers have they actually ordered because this is what Onlive failed with, those racks were overly expensive.
>It's still a work in progress
>ITS JUST A BETA!
>THEY'LL PATCH IT!
For reference, 166ms is 10 frames in a 60fps game.
Might be barely playable in games with extremely low native input lag. Perhaps stuff without a heavy action element will be acceptable. For everything else, I don't think so.
Haha yeah let me just play it on my 3000mbps quantum internet.
Why are you so scared of change?
You're talking about streaming. I was merely talking about 8K and when you'd notice a difference. Which contrary to retarded opinion, is not 100+ inches. You'll see a difference easily at the 32 inch range.
>How do you KNOW it's shit? It isn't even out yet
0.02 googlebucks have been added to your Stadia acc-CONNECTION ERROR
You cannot break the laws of physics.
Streaming video is nothing like streaming games
...
>in the future
you can't fucking stream 1080p/60fps on most broadband, idiot
I know more about display technology than you know about your own father.
KEK
Consoles litterally live on poor people.
>YOU SHOULD BE PROUD TO HAVE THE PRIVILEGE OF NOT OWNING THE PRODUCTS YOU BUY
Why are you so afraid of not shitposting?
Would be great for every genre that doesn't mind ~40 extra MS input lag. Sorry fighter or FPS fans.
>With updates being provided on a constant basis it will be better.
nice complete divination, faggot. stop trying to shill.
>you seem to have misstyped the captcha, please try again
Retard
>hurr streamin games iz same as streamin rick n morti
>Why are you so scared of change?
Stop being so liberal. No one is scared of change. There's nothing wrong with scrutiny in this case. From experience Google can at best only provide a more polished turd than OnLive.
Netflix streaming in 4K looks great and uses like 12-18mpbs. It shouldn’t be too hard unless you’re on dial up or have shit internet.
I just want to own my games and not a subscription. Also, the lag on this is going to be bad. Games require inputs with immediate feedback. What if it's storming outside and your internet is down for a bit? Guess what, no games. Not everyone is going to have fast enough internet to make this work so I can't see it being a huge success. Single player games should never require a network connection.
check the Ouya video presentation now
>2000ms delay
>disappearing image captcha a thousand times to get back into session
>CONNECTION ERROR
sounds like a you issue, i've never had any problem streaming games from ps now and it's always taken less then 5 minutes to get into a game from the app, no less then inserting a disk and loading the game from it, the only game I've had problems with is deadly premonition but I think that's because the directors cut edition is fucking trash
8k
people dont even have 4k for the most part
You can feel the anger and fustration, i bet he wanted to stomp a google tranny
>implying they won´t make you pay to rent their "console" and then ask for another $60 for the game you want to play
>not to forget about the 200 Mbps connection you need
This shit isn´t for everyone.
Subscribe for 6-12 months and you could probably buy your own high end PC with that money
HOOO NO NO NO
Newsflash you fucking idiot, but this is the future of gaming. You can be left behind if you want, literally no one will give a fuck about you. Meanwhile millions will get with the 21st century.
It's like wanting movies to still be released on VHS or thinking anyone still buys fucking CDs. People stream everything now. TV, Movies, and music. People are connected 24/7.
If you moved out of your parents basement you would know this.
I use 4G as my main internet where I live, only other option is shit satellite which I tried. I can hit 30-40Mbps at best, usually in the early hours like 1-4 am. Any other time it ranges from 1 to 20Mbps. It's so shit.
Next in Best Buy for Black Friday sales: 8k TVs cheap!
I missed the beginning. Is this a physical console? If so, why? I could stream just fine from my pc.
GaaS is a scam and input delay is the most detrimental thing to an interactive medium
Please don't let people be retarded and fall for this
>this is the future of
Can you tell me why this is better than purchasing a game and playing it on local hardware? Beyond the obvious business model changes
Yeah, though it'd still be noticeable. Merely clicking on a UI button will have that noticeable delay. It's one thing to have perfect UI interaction but wait for server validation of some action. It's another to have everything have that delay.
"Whoops, did I press that button 2x? I only meant once" type of stuff.
It´s a streaming service.
They stream the game to your device from their "Cloud-based console"
>Newsflash you fucking idiot, but this is the future of gaming. You can be left behind if you want, literally no one will give a fuck about you. Meanwhile millions will get with the 21st century.
>It's like wanting movies to still be released on VHS or thinking anyone still buys fucking CDs. People stream everything now. TV, Movies, and music. People are connected 24/7.
>If you moved out of your parents basement you would know this.
keep crying +fag
It's cheaper for one. Both for the consumer and provider.
Try Playstation Now. It is not the same as a console.
>In the future we still fuck people with our genitals
makes you really think
Frames per second practically does not matter if the game still has input delay.
>streaming games on some insane subscription is cheaper than waiting for sales
where have I heard this before
Where I live we have data caps and very bad internet. So explain to me how this is better for me, the consumer, instead of buying a game disc and popping it in? Something I own forever.
Okay, whatever you say retard. Get ready for commercials interrupting your game.
hope it flops hard and fast, fucking gaming as a service lol
>you'll see! google will break the speed of light to you can gayme at 8k120!
I'm fuckin' dead
The Jewgle datacenter has significantly more resources than a dinky 300$ console, so it should be able to deliver exceptional graphics at a constant 60fps.
The downside is the input lag and the fact you're streaming the game constantly. This eats bandwidth like a motherfucker.
COPE
Today is april mobs, right?
This is just another jokes that google makes every 1 april.
>road workers go full retard and cut your fibre
>can't play games
Clever!
No, it would be shit for any genre. Imagine playing a turn based RPG where 90% of your play time is spent scrolling through menus. Now imagine that scrolling being a 3rd of a second delayed. Sure it wouldnt affect your ability to complete the game but it would make the whole experience feel like fucking garbage
>trusting Japanese shit with online infrastructure
Topkek. Poorfags thinking I should care about their games. As a pajeet developer at google making 600k a year with my math PHD I can easily afford a 20,000 a month apartment in my poo infested neighborhood in san francisco that comes with 10gb per second internet. I'll have you know the streetshit pajeets living in boxes outside my place know more javascript then you gaymer. I'll have you know I already beat devil may cry 6 in 16k on my googlebox. Whats that? You still play devil may cry 5 on that barely 1080p poorfag sony console? In 2025? Oh wait, you didnt get a ps5 cause no new consoles came out after google bought out sony and nintendo and microsoft pissed themselves in shame and sent their inferior indians back to india? America is for us PHD math holders not you smelly NEETscum nazi larpers. Now get out of my face, your no different then the niggers you make nigger hate threads about on oldchan. Soon, we will put you trash into GOOlag and be forced to fill captchas until death.
It's not better for you (or most people really). You REQUIRE high speed internet for this streaming shit to be even possible. You literally can't make use of this service without it.
do you have a basic idea how the internet works? if so, this product isn't for you. it's for the 'why can't you just pause your online match' people
those data caps in murrica gonna work well with this 8k streaming lmao
fucking retards

I will believe it when I see it.

>come on come on come on come on
>fucking fire hydrants come on come on
>done!
>reload, but due to input lag your character stares into thin air for 2 minutes
>die
FUCK!
You sound like all those industry "experts" from 2002-2010 who said "PC is a dying platform" while they were shilling their new mobile games.
You know what's still popular despite all the technological innovations? Printed booked. By all rationale they should be dead, but here we are, still toting around books because of all the irrational benefits. Games are the same.
if this is true literally no one will use it
8K literally requires you to sit less than a meter from a 70'' TV to see the difference from 4K, who the fuck needs that?
For this to succeed the price has to be lo. People won't pay 600 a year (50 a month) for this when they can buy a switch or ps4 with games for 400. It needs to be at a maximum 20 a month.
thank you nick land
>mfw im majoring in Video Game Design at Fullsail
>600k a year job guaranteed
That was EPIC
EPIC FOR THE WIN
Of course google knows their product is shit, the problem is that they're trying to sell it as if it wasn't and they're fooling people in the process. You included it seems.

THEIR FUCKING LIVESTREAM HAD ISSUES
a fucking video stream. retard.
Have you guys seen this video
OH LORD
This is the future folks
Incredible........
800mbps is BANDWIDTH. Think of it as "how many things a can carry in one go from server to my home". Latency is the different thing. Think of it as "how far away server is from my home". Calling bandwidth speed is confusing. If you have to go to wallmart 5 kilometers from home and return back it doesn't matter if you have small car or a giant truck, you will always have to move 10 kilometers.
unironically a better presentation than stdia
Nothing in life is guaranteed except death and taxes.
>3 s delay
HAHAHAHA
>NOOO DONT MAKE FUN OF JEWGLE
>cheaper
Hmm...
>Buy shitty streaming "console"
>Pay $35/mo at $420/year
>Deal with data cap limits, costlier data plans, bandwidth throttling
>You are banned. Your console is now an ugly paper weight
Look man I don't even buy $400 worth of vidya in a year so this is a net loss for me. And I can play my current consoles and PC without maxing out my data so no fuss with the ISP. This service would be a net loss for me.
>input to climb statue
>does it 4 seconds later
OH NO NO NO NO NO
Not just irrational. Last time I looked into that, printed books had better image quality than any screen (Kindle being the equivalent of shitty pocket book paper) and better navigation in most cases.
Go back wherever you came from.
the fallout 76 of services
>The option is available
>no fucking game will ever use it
haha
Netflix can encode their videos to minimize file size beforehand. That's expensive.
It's not really a "stream" if you have a pre-rendered video and buffering.
If you want to stream a game with minimum latency you can't do any of that.
HOW WILL THIS FUCKING WORK?
Ever use Steam's in-house streaming?
THAT HAS INPUT LAG FOR ME AND ITS WITHIN MY LAN.
WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY THINKING!?
>post cringey shit
>user makes fun of you
>s-stop defending them!
double cringe
Good points.
Just imagine, their servers had no traffic at all during this demo. Stack on a million connections and its going to get ugly.
have sex
>WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY THINKING!?
The average joe doesn't understand any of this. They think it will be lag-free 4k 120fps games for 30$ a month.
I just wonder how they expect to keep customers past the first month after everyone notices and the entire card house collapses.
You're in the minority
>have sex
is this a hot new word filter?
But internet in Russia is fine.
$8 for 100/100 unlim.
How much is this shit going to cost? No way it wont be a monthly fee, and with all the shit they are talking about theres no way it will be any cheaper than a MMO.
wait so this is a game streaming platform? aren't those all trash? did something change? this seems like it's dead on arrival
I have seen one of those posts in every single google thread, I'm starting to think those crazy assholes were right about these being paid posters.
It's just some retards trying to force le new hot funny universal reply.

>t.libcuck living in a shithole
Wait for proof. Stop shitting the bed. You should know by now that these companies LOVE to make claims that rarely stand up to reality.
You people are so fucking gullible.
Seriously.
I do have a 4K TV and even then most of the content is still in 1080p anyway.
Going beyond 4k is utterly useless at this point in time.
What was the purpose?
Something rotten in the kingdom of denmark
Not my fault you guys have shitty internet
>4k/60fps
Literally impossible to transfer without significant compression. This will look like Youtube 4k.
> He doesn't know about hevc and av1
As someone who playtested project stream, I will tell you that whole latency is there at times, it's not super noticeable
Any service that uses this magic? Because 4k blurays look a hell of a lot better than Netflix 4k.
Google really likes to future-proof their projects.
The only issue is their projects usually bomb so bad they aren't still a thing when the future they prepped for finally comes.
Can someone tell me what was that rock on stage?
Because Google knows that people interested in this streaming garbage are dumb as a rock.
>upscaling
>interpolation
2 words should learn. I can make any 23fps video 60fps. And any 1080p image 4k.
This. Companies are getting incredibly slippery with these terms. We need to move to a different measure of quality, like bitrate.
"Stadium" which is the mineral used to increase latency, making the 8k streaming possible.
The baggage that came with the 2 women.
so everyone keeps discussing input lag and video quality to death even though we already know how thats all going to work, but does anyone know how buying games on this service is going to work?
Still you would need over 160Mbps for that minumum. And it's slow to decode.
it's good for any video game that is ignorant about input lag for instance talladega nights
I pray it flops because it will kill the entire medium of games if it's successful.
Do people really think this is a good idea..?
Google? That mega data mining searching filtering company of the world?
Jesus guys they literally changed what the definition of facism means in search results.
Google can't be trusted
Probably a monthly subscription, like 30-40$
speaking of, when is Yea Forums going to support this shit? some online converters manage to cut the size of my webms into a third of what it used to be, but then i try to upload and it turns out its using a modern codec that Yea Forums doesn't support.
>Any service that uses this magic? Because 4k blurays look a hell of a lot better than Netflix 4k.
Yea, everyone
Is this Xbox one all over again?
>companie lies
>HAHAHA THEY ARE MY COMPANY SO YOU LOSE
fuck off, slave.
You will pay per hour.
If you keep repeating it to yourself, it must be true, huh?
>Chrome
>It's not a bald gay dude with a snoybeard, this MUST BE JAPANESE
Fuck off, slave
Cool, so it still looks like shit. There is a world of difference between 4k blu-ray and Netflix.
Input lag.
It's also not your doing if you have faster internet. What does this even mean? Did you lay the cables?
And yet, streamed content still looks like trash.
>"Jesus guys they literally changed what the definition of facism means in search results"
>don't believe you
>search it
>it's true
What the fuck, these monopolistic cunts are starting to genuinely scare me.
you sound like you're poor... and seething!

They are literally on a Star citizen business model there. All promises, and you are supposed to pay first and wait for them to deliver... maybe
>buzzwords!
>i'm so quirky!
C R I N G E
I guess it will be from $50 to $100 for monthly server costs (4k 60fps option will be closer to $100) and you will have to own each game you want to play so that's additional $60 per game without dlc. not cheap but you don't have to pay $2000 dollars for gaming PC every two years.
and thats why china will overtake the us. america is used to having barbaric connections and regulations, google even tried to bring fiber to cities but ISP monopolies told them no and it died right there
>>you can play it ion your toaster
your toaster can't read a 8K 120fps stream. stream decompression requires advanced GPU. 8K isn't even doable with modern portable hardware, and I'm not even talking about the 120 fps part.
I'm actually okay with this getting popular in china and game companies requiring them to use it to play with others online, good shit.
Can't wait for Google to work in progress the shit out of rules of nature
>not cheap but you don't have to pay $2000 dollars for gaming PC every two years.
No one does, retard.
>Jesus guys they literally changed what the definition of facism means in search results.
?
The copypasted wiki text that they have no relation to?
I do own even my digital games because I'm not a retard who spends money on them.
google doesn't care for poor losers.
Delicious.
Yea, that actually scares me. Look into all their data mining for more fear. They are way to fucking big.
>live more than 2km from any of these places
>2 second input delay
not true 4k
Google gives Wiki, significate amounts of cash.
Also, they allow the inacurate definition to remain on their engine.
>the city of finland
>large companies are infallible
>what is google+
That wasent input lag you retards, that was literally the game just being shit. You can see the character moving his legs attempting to move when hes hitting the button.
STOP KILLING GAMES
But really, this is a fucking nightmare. I'd like to still be able to play my games after 3-5 years, thanks.
There is a significant difference between possession and ownership.
You mean the former.
You own the hard drive, you possess the data, but you do NOT own the data.
>Stop trying to scaremonger.

1. forget game prices as they make no difference between the different scenarios, same goes for other things like monitor, mouse, controllers...
2. 100 a month, that's a fucking gaming PC IN ONE YEAR. 50 a month, that's a gaming PC in 2 years. I just built a new gaming PC for under 1100 and I won't upgrade anything on it for at least three years. you're out of your mind. I'm posting this on my gaming PC from 2011 on which I only upgraded the GPU and RAM. I spent about 1600 bucks on PC hardware in the last 8 years. if google wanted to compete with that they would have to offer me 60+ fps gaming at the common resolution of the day (1080p right now, 1440p soon, then 2160p in five years etc) for 200 bucks a year, or 17 bucks a month. but wait, there's input lag and compression artifacts! I also can't install mods for my games, use the visual settings I desire (presumably), fix a problem with the game per config file or whatever, having no access to the files. so lower that price even further to be a viable competitor.
tldr: to be a competitive product in a RATIONAL person's mind google would have to offer this shit at like 15 bucks a month or less.
P.S. I was extremely generous by omitting the fact that you still need a fucking computer at your house any way, just a slightly cheaper one. and now because you bought cheap hardware you can't do any other hardware-intense tasks as google won't stream those for you.
YouTube is capable of streaming at 4k 60 FPS. It did not kill PC or console gaming.
Stop being retarded, this is basically no different.
quantum entanglement don't work that way
i was right
it's the ouya 2.0
