Probably just "hey, you can play Mario Run on this" and all those other mobile-only Nintendo games.

Holy cringe.

>announcing sage
Hello zoomer

This would be cool if I didn't live in Australia.

Is this OnLive?

Why is every console afraid to use the dualshock set up for the sticks?

Yes.

because it's a terrible design

So Google made Onlive.

This.

So through superior computing power google will just buy and monopolize the game streaming market

interesting

Sony is probably shitting themselves.

>We streamed 5 minutes of 4k 60fps video from one side of the google campus to the other
>This will totally work for people with

your left thumb more naturally fits an xbox-type controller

my thumbs are more symmetrical on a dualshock controller

One more sign that the full games pass service is coming to switch. If this takes off ahead of Microsoft, Google will have a stronghold on cloud based computing, which is the future whether you like it or not.

So what makes google think they can make a cloud based console when microsoft has been trying for years and can't. Keep in mind Azure is one of the most powerful cloud systems only rivaled by AWS. This won't work.

holy shit, that actually sounds good so far

Game streaming surely gonna look amazing

Eh I think you feel that way because you grew up with it.

>[Doubt] intensifies

google is cancer, someone nuke their headquarters.

I want to see the lag for myself, first.
Currently, we have to care about even the latency of our mouses and monitors in order to get the lowest amount of lag between inputs and frames as possible.

This here will go over the internet. There MUST be lag.
So I fear that modern games will be built with this lag taken into account, thus giving you forever to react to things.

>Switch/Stadia Masterrace
Gonna be good bois. AAA on Stadia and Nintendo for their baby/fun games.

Attached: 1407597009068.gif (500x400, 282K)

NO BREATHING

Approved family-friendly mods only!

yes, the lag is my doubt aswell.
i cant really imagine it will work without lag, especially once a lot of people will start using it, you use the splitscreen feature, and dont have fiber conection.

My main preoccupation is google taking action against piracy now that they have a stake on it, other than that, it's a hard pass.
If fucking spotify has issues streaming 192kbps mp3 now and then I very much doubt I'll be able to stream Red Dead Redemption 2.

Generally, you use the face buttons more than the camera stick, and you use the left analogue more than the d-pad. Therefore your thumbs maintain symmetry on an xbox-type controller, rather than asymmetry on a dualshock.

Well it's not like you can hook into game logic with cheats. It's just a video stream that reaches you. But you could run a vision based bot.

whats the price?

People is already predict this

Why we still surprised?

>No performance loss split-screen
>Async splitscreen
>Being able to see other players screens across the net for coordination

This is literally the first time anyone made an argument that made me consider wanting streaming games

Attached: 1322531081267.jpg (621x646, 102K)

You're wrong: I didn't.

so a question, how much power in term of servers do you need to hold at least let's say 100 mil people in the time streaming ? how about 500 mil? 1 billion? especially at 1080/60 fps or fucking 4K/6 fps, that shit will make google servers burn

Attached: 1464554478483.gif (280x280, 1.1M)

Google has basically built the entire infrastructure that runs the entire internet, globally. They simply have way more resources.

Also side note. Did you know that Google has a real time mirror of the entire internet. Think about how much storage and power that takes to run. I'm sure they can handle a streaming service.

Maybe if your right thumb is on the stick, in which case you should fuck off for playing shitty FPS games on a console. For nearly every other game your thumbs are going to be resting on a movement stick (left thumb) and the face buttons (right thumb). The Xbox and Switch Pro controllers do this right. The DualShock is a piece of shit.

NO RESPONSE

Attached: Indifference.jpg (320x240, 12K)

Free?

I hope this finally monopolizes the whole market.

>Google has designed an algorithm to texture your games on the fly with dolphin porn

what a fucking timeline to live in

Attached: 1344650465737.png (964x1268, 939K)

impossible

Google hasn't done any of that. They don't have the infrastructure that runs the internet. Microsoft Azure and Amazons AWS run the internet right now. Google is literally a web crawler service. They offer a lot of services but the largest cloud services in the world are Azure and AWS

The console tap directly into your soul so you can help run the servers.

It's google. They've got money to piss away and get people to join in on their shit.

How would google be able to stream 4k video steadily?
4K on YouTube as is barely works. I have decent fibre internet (50mb fibre to the cabinet) and YouTube can still stop and buffer on my 4K gaming rig.

I'm getting my checkbook.

everything else google does is free

>Built in savestates and savestate sharing

Google confirmed for savescumming casuals

This is way too good to be true
I can only imagine this crumbling hard when it goes live

It just works

>always online is the worst cancer this generation brought to us
>they're now building an entire console around it
If this is the future of gaming, I'll gladly stay in the past

Google doesn't test things outside of America and with internet that isn't 1000mbps+, so yes you're right.

google shit sucks, they'll rearrange everything every six months they'll mine your gameplay data poorly to show you hot pockets ads and they'll pull what you bought when this fails

It looks like shit, they would have legitimately been better revealing this in the same way Sony revealed the PlayStation

what a boring and bland presentation, WOW how exalting! Google talking about creators when they do everything to fuck them over is really funny at least.

yea. no dev will forgo releasing on consoles. Which they are gonna have to do if they wanna make stadia tier games.

it won't. you know why? because it's Google. even if it fails at first they have this country by balls. they'll be spying on everyone and their mother sooner or later, slowly but surely, whether you like it or not.
it has to succeed, because that means Google would lose, and they're too big to fail.

jesus christ

I don't understand what a developer will get out of this. How are people going to be forced to pay?

Only way this would work in the UK is if google bought out OpenReach and fixed their shit.
The OpenReach project was so shit BT straight up spun it off and practically abandoned it. Man the government were pissed about that too.

>game streaming
>only good for the yuppies that can actually afford and have access to higher tier internet
>probably gonna be a subscription model
>taking away more power of owning what you purchase
Who is excited for this besides the "techies'?

>no dsp

Google is going to change gaming forever?

BUT THAT'S JUST A THEORY

They do mirror the internet in real time. They do have floating massive data centers. They do have sophisticated AIs that comb, collect, and sort all data on the internet. They also give all this information to the NSA, the CIA, the FBI, and I'm sure they are selling it to 3rd party advertisers and what not. You really think they cant stream doom to your phone on a 5g network?

What about the games?

>creators

JUST TELL US HOW MUCH IT COSTS

In any live scenario the video will be compressed to shit in higher resolutions.
In any live scenario the delay on inputs will get higher on weekends as the servers feel the pain.

The question isn't if google can steam as well as your desktop, the question is if the price on this second rate experience will be low enough that parents would rather pay for it rather then a console/PC.
If the service can entrench it self with children it could become established and push out superior traditional tech.

reminder all youtubers are paid shill except dsp

COLLABORATOR

i'm feeling mixed, but it's interesting.

So they're making a streaming console based on the streamer/player thing but they forget twitch?
WTF are they thinking?

See you're right about all that but streaming at the rate they want to wont work and most 5g infrastructure isn't setup right now. This is a service that might work 10 years from now but currently it's a pipe dream.

I can't even play 4k 30fps youtube without buffering. How the fuck is 4k 60fps gaming going to work?

No idea who this guy is but I can tell he's a psychopath.

Yeah, I'm not seeing the point.

I still don't understand how this shit is going to work. How are devs going to make money off this shit?

Yeah, I ive in a 750k city, and we don't have fiber, and any sort of high speed enough for this really is $120+/month. Not worth it, physical is much better.

It fucking sucks that they didn't reveal any pricing scheme
This is going to be pretty fucking expensive, like 100 dollars/month expensive if they just ommit mentioning price

How did you get past the captcha, filthy mechanoid?

You probably just pay for the game.

>No limits

just pirate the stream, bro

What is this fucking song? Is there something wrong with it?

wow google, thanks for summing it up for me

Attached: screenshot.png (1920x1080, 136K)

yes
they showed PS4 and Xbox controllers in one of the pictures

They are hoping that eventually the whole planet will be subscribed to their services. Most likely it will have ads on it later on too, to generate revenue similar to Youtube. And no adblock this time around.

>2 different songs playing
Great job google

>no price announced
>no actual console, just a streaming service
>no exclusives at all
So it was fucking nothing then?

Supposedly.

So, no date, no price.
I think google wasn't ready for this.

there's two songs playing at once

>>Most of Europe

mhhh Article13 mmhhh

are they playing two songs simutaneously??????

Are they playing two songs at once? Can these shitheads do ANYTHING right?

why is there 3 different songs playing at the same time

stadia more like sativa

Why are they pretending like downloading a game is an issue for the high speed connection this service will require? Instead of downloading a 50gb game you will play forever you will have to download 50gb per hour to play it.

Attached: 5353763131.jpg (972x760, 24K)

Anyone else getting the jumbled songs at the end

LMAO DUDE JUST UPROOT YOUR FAMILY AND MOVE TO A PLACE WITH FIBER SO YOU CAN STREAM ASS CREED WITH INPUT LAG BRO

>Launching this year

This shit is confirmed for another ouya; if my doubt wasn't at maximum before, it's beyond doubt now. There's no fucking way they can deliver what they promise except for to people who are already running high tier internet, and even then server stability is almost always going to crash and burn at the launch of these types of things

lel
Where are the fucking games?

fuck my ears

So how will price work? Monthly fee + buying each game?

Stadia sounds like an std

2 songs overplaying each other at the end fail

It's just a stream service. If a controller works on whatever you're streaming it on then you can use it.

1/10 or just 0, nothing new just another streaming service with a shitty controller that requires a stable and fast internet access AND you to trust Google.

to show you the power of limitless streaming

my fucking ears

G+

>not a single mention of input delays
>not a single mention of how much internet bandwidth you need
>no price
>UK is not in Europe according to google

same way they do on netflix
it's not going to have any new games
it will only get old games that are no longer selling, unless google pays for an exclusive deal

Has anyone tried those precision sticks?
Xbone elite or steam?

I don't doubt this is the intention but why would a dev want to be on it if they aren't making serious cash?

>analog sticks
Gross.

I just wanted to laugh at another terrible idea and as soon as game theory came up i lost it

Attached: 1531515544154.jpg (231x264, 19K)

I think it'll be a subscription-based

IMO it wasn't a good marketing decisions to show this many NOs in their promo

I didn't hear or see a single mention of what kind of connection would be required for streaming 4k 60fps gameplay, or lower.
You don't think a giant corporation would do that right?
Just leave out critical details like that.

Attached: frog1.jpg (499x499, 191K)

The short demo already showed some ridiculous lag when the guy carefully moved the mouse around just enough to show he's playing a videogame but not enough to make the lag too blatant for normalfags.

Stadia more like Stavia. Cos its as fake as fake sugar.

This looks stupid as fuck.

Can't wait to see this at E3

Ouya 2 time

I think it's best that it's some streaming platform rather than a new console with forced exclusives.

In the end, this appeals to the normies who can't notice input lag anyway and are too dumb to maintain a PC or spend the money on a gaming PC.
On top of Google pushing Vulkan and Linux, this is all good news for PC gaming overall since it'll only make the platform more important.

Attached: 1486825226686.png (166x166, 14K)

I think I'm done with video games. Should I /fit/ or Yea Forums?

The fact that so many people are confused about the pricing aspect just shows how badly they explained things at this presentation. Also, bringing out MatPat was literal garbage.

>UK is not in Europe
I thought that was what Brexit was all about
Uk don't wanna be europeans anymore

>it sounds like a measurement of failiure potential
>WE GOT THE MOST GUYS

just lmao man

That's not how streaming works.

I'll just use Steam Link which works with phones and TVs, no thanks jewgle.

But what if it actually becomes successful? What then?

Well now it's over I guess I'll go play games on a required box.

*her employees created ac while she was banging her boss for promotion

No modding
No mouse+keyboard
No competitive gaming
No playing when connection problems
No games that are deemed too lewd or violent
No indie games or any small interesting games

You can't leave, you either live as gamer or die as a normie

It's a nice concept, but unrealistic for most people because of lag, data caps and download speeds. To give an example, the video scrambled and buffered twice during this presentation alone for me, and that was at 480p.

Attached: google irony.jpg (1346x633, 118K)

Hopefully it just kills consoles in 5 years or so. That would be great.

Then we play old games until we die

Then you'll be able to watch your favourite Youtube content creators while browsing Google Search Results on the fly

It was already choppy as fuck in the demos if you noticed. Dead on arrival.

They didn't mention price either
This isn't looking good, they only mentioned the practicity of it, but like an user just mentioned, if you have the internet to stream at 4k 60fps, you have the internet to download a 100gb game in less than an hour.
Even then, how is this a problem? Most people pre-order and pre-load their games so they play them on release. I just don't get it

Yes with streaming you are in fact constantly downloading a stream of data, download times are a complete nonissue outside the third world and even if download time is an issue for you then you won't be able to stream vidya.

I hope you have a bunch of hard drives with tons of games on it.

it will be kept alive with all the google resources ... so it's not a "what if" question

Attached: 1529971110628.png (600x633, 292K)

*whale noises intensify*

no

NO

NO GAMES

Google is targeting the kind of people that play on their laptops.
They're already playing laggy ugly versions of AAA games, now instead of paying for that upgrade they've been saying they'll do they can pay 25$ (for example) and play less laggy less ugly games.
It's also for parents that don't want to pay for a gaming rig or a console.

Everyone else looks so fucking bored

It's gonna be like watching movies in an airplane. No customization, no options and heavily edited.

>Vulkan
what's that again?

it will have fortnite that's all that matters

It's not a nice concept, the drawbacks are gigantic even if they somehow fixed the blatant usability issues.
You don't own your games anymore, say goodbye to anything involving any kind of file manipulation, they want to take away control of your data and processing power so everything is a streaming shitbox and you are forced to use their services.

Alright Yea Forums I know some of you are filthy normies, what's the absolute highest price you'd pay for something like this, assuming it's subscription based?
$10.99 a month for me. It'll be worth it to dick around on for a few weeks and if it's shit then I'm only out a day's lunch.

Imagine GOOGLE ESPORTS, they host an event then the internet craps out and all the games die.

This. Google are famous for launching one shit project after another only to dump them when they fail

This shit won't work. I guaran fucking tee it won't work.

something that definitely needed a huge push in the industry to become more relevant as it's the best low-overhead api for gayms

I guess you're still using Waves and G+? Google has failed numerous times

Fortnite wasn't anywhere in the stream, baka Google, missed a golden oportunity

if there's going to be shooters on those streaming services they are going to have to have a unified input device, otherwise gamepadfags lose.

The rule of thumb in everything casual like this is that things will always go down to the lowest common denominator. You aren't getting a hardcore experience.

And you'll be paying a fortune per GB.

all they have to do is make counterstrike and league of legends work on that system tbqh

People are amazed at the fact that you can jump into a game to play it, but Google didn't mention anything about the internet speed you'd need and the pricing, because that would put people off.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but Microsoft turned out to have the best Game as a Service product, fucking Microsoft is the lesser evil this time around

kek

Don't you guys have a phone - Jewgle edition

And we're about what, close to decade off from even being capable of having infrastructure capable of supporting something like this on such a magnitude? This is fucking retarded.

gee i wonder

Its a streaming console, but of what?

What games? Exclusive titles, or PC ones?

In your delusions

It's less than what a typical PC has and it's limited at 60 fps, now devs won't have to worry about PCchads having actual standards.

This might kill consoles but PC will live on as the only platform where your games aren't tied to subscriptions

FIGHTING GAMES ARE OFF THE MENU BOYS

It's Xbox One reveal conference level of terrible. Actually, it makes that MS conference feel like a god tier one.

>he doesn't know about the +7500 EDGE nodes
Haha

Some ideas sound pretty neat in concept, but with a little bit of foresight, are kind of meh.

That thing in which you can share the exact moment of a game to others, what would be the use of it? "Here's this boss with all my shitty managed items" or "I didn't play the game, nor did I have intentions of playing it, but here are some spoilers for the ending"?

Also, the thing that you can play with your "Youtube creators" sounds like top ganking material.

We'll be dead before it get's really bad. No need to worry

THIS IS MY LAST RESORT.

STEAM LINK ALREADY EXISTS YOU CUNTS

Wow desperate for money, already a video on it. Cringe!

let them, for what it's worth we get more pc ports because of this shit
absolute retards will never play on pc because its way too intimidating compared to consoles, so here's an alternative for that demographic

Their goal is to at least partially cannibalize the consolefag market but I think they're aiming even lower, their main audience seems to be californians.

They've always been braindead zombies. PC gamers would have NEVER NEVER EVER accepted gamepad controls on a FPS game, yet consoles kiddies lapped it up like it was dessert.

>imagine intentionally creating more input lag and calling it the future of gaming.

How can they be so out of touch?

So it's confirmed that DF is corrupt paid media, I always knew they tried to defend Sony's bullshit and apparently it's Google's bullshit now.

>Google didn't mention anything about the internet speed you'd need and the pricing
Not to mention, shitty ISPs like Comcast that have monthly bandwidth limits. How long would it take to eat through a 1TB allowance streaming at 4K/60?

HHHHHHHHeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYY

>Also, the thing that you can play with your "Youtube creators" sounds like top ganking material.
I'm pretty sure most of them already organize that shit through social media, it really sounds like it won't bring too much to the table.

are you pretending?

Wait so what is this? I saw the sadia, what's the yeti? I like the name and design here. Sadia sounds weird.

They should just use this to deploy one fuck you huge instance of a 2 billion player EVE game with good gameplay that you could pick up and play anywhere in the day

Even in worst case scenario PC will live and we'll still have games like Kenshi coming out. It's a platform for A and AA developers to make money on.

Can't wait for ISPs to pull the plugs off this shit and tell Google to fuck off. And then sell options package to allow for such streaming service to go through their pipes

Holy FUCK this looks bad, imagine trying to peddle for garbage worse than consoles.

Attached: clay.jpg (1920x1080, 511K)

The state share is actually one of the more interesting bits here. Its like if you get to a boss with no upgrades with the starter weapon and shitters here say "big deal, I could beat that boss no problem" you could literally just make a link and say "go ahead, show me you can."

Problem is thanks to input lag displays of skill like that are meaningless.

This thing is inherently incompatible with the PC audience, it's aimed strictly at casuals aka consolefags and moms.

It might force google to expand their internet services and package it with this shit.

Some games immediatly become unplayable when you so much as stream it inhouse, because the lag makes it feel very unsatisfying to actually play it. See Action games live and die (no fun) when you are not literally existing on a higher level while playing it, reacting to every input on screen within single digit ms, totally consumed by the game.
Lol lag you ded

>the beginning of the end

I just don't see it getting used. It's one of those gimmicks that seems interesting in concept but the reality is it's just awkward and clunky.

What the fuck

Attached: 1551632451351.jpg (402x365, 32K)

High end game engines are now open source. We have guys like Jeff Vogel who have built a career making PC RPGs in their basement. PC gaming will never go away if there's a market for it.

youtube.com/watch?v=IPCv6F-IgXU

Google didn't invent fucking save files you mong.

true

also mobile gamers

I don't understand how it can upset anyone, it won't replace what we have now anytime soon or even ever, who knows what hardware will be like in 10 years for example

Can Intel and Nvidia stop Google from destroying their industry? If Stadia succeeds, no one will buy expensive processors and GPUs.

>awkward and clunky
If it's like it was shown in the video, it's the least awkward and clunky thing imaginable. It's literally just clicking a link someone sends you.

Yeah but who the fuck wants to do that? Aside from a few platformers who would want to play someone else's game?

>PC pushing for 144hz, VR, 4K
>consolefags will have SIXTY FPS 1s delay streaming to look forward to

>no games
>no players

Jesus, how new are you to the internet?

Of course not, but they massively streamlined the process. Not all games let you share that stuff either, especially console games. It's not just a savefile either, it's a savestate.

limited data in 2019. what fucking shithole do you live in

Imagine being a jewgle apologist here thinking this is in any way a good thing, holy fuck Yea Forums used to shun these casual retards away.

Whatever happened to emotion Eric?

I didn't expect anything from the whole streaming thing, but I did want to see some new good controller, with back paddles etc.

I'm disappointed user

I dunno, If some autist spends 40 hours grinding to get to a super boss and I want to try it out, I'll probably be more receptive to clicking a link than grinding towards it myself.

can I get a tl;dr

I used to live in a Maori island. Internet is brand new to me since 2018.

Let me tell you this user.
Streaming Tetris 99 and playing the PC preview feed is noticeably a little laggy, and that's with an Elgato HD60 S a device specifically designed for that job, the job of taking a video feed from one device and sending it to another via the usb type c 3.0 cable at 1080p 60fps, and for 90% of the time does it well it rarely ever hitches up. And that's all local, before I've started the stream up and its uploading online to Twitch.
Its just not going to work well. Steams mobile app will kind of work because its from one internet to another one with one host and one client but even that's not perfect
This isn't going to end well.

its all streaming there is no console

...

What kind of exclusive game you think this console would have, something from google I would expect something like flash/mobile game tier kind of game to be their first exclusive.

Did you watch the video? The dev has to implement the state by saving relevant data aka a fucking save file, it's not a system inherent to the "datacenter", the only difference is that there are now share buttons to facebook and google+.

There's already speculation that Titan Ampere will be a 4k 144hz card.

When the original AC was first getting marketed Ubi pimped Jade out like a $10 whore.

I don't expect it to have any exclusives desu

Streaming should be put in the same category as mobile gaming.

In other words it doesn't belong on Yea Forums.

Internet infrastructure in the U.S is outdated as fuck thanks to lazy, greedy telecom companies.

>What kind of exclusive game you think this console would have
Third person Hollywood-rejects with quicktime events.

Mobileshit apologists already infect Yea Forums with their cancer gacha threads.
You let this happen, Yea Forums. You could have stopped it.

this

I think it might go for the Xbox approach with their "exclusives" also being on pc, this would have "exclusives" that are also on the google play store.

We are the last generation to play on traditional consoles, eventually all the big players will have their own streaming platform with xCloud from Microsoft and PSN Now from Sony.

Funny how this goes completely against the recent trend of ISPs setting download limits to costumers. Google will ironically have to fight capitalism for Stadia to work

Can anything be done about that? When I lived in Japan I got 10x more speeds at a cheap internet cafe.

>paying to play video games
>paying a subscription to play video games

Attached: 1488403193034.jpg (413x570, 47K)

>We are the last generation to play on traditional consoles
Imagine being a zoomer mong that didn't ditch consoles a decade ago, the PS3 and beyond were nothing but complete garbage.

>yfw you’re not a jewgle

Attached: 77D14B53-D6D7-4E7A-BB76-1E2CE452A5A2.jpg (500x500, 25K)

Not really. They took a massive amount of taxpayer money given to them for upgrading the infrastructure and basically just pocketed it. They own the FCC.

Oh god, please tell me that isn't the actual controller, are they seriously going for the touchpad joystick, and it's a streaming box? This things deader than fuck, people like what there used to, if they wanted to do this they should have made two types of controllers and just made the thing download only because internets to shit for this to be made yet. Any games anounced?

Attached: 1552951002091.gif (500x264, 998K)

They don't need exclusives. They are competing on price and nothing else.
This is a rented computer you play games on with the downsides of video compression and input lag.
They already do the same thing with servers, most websites are hosted this way. They pay for amazon or whoever to provide them with a computer (virual machine) where they set up whatever they need.
Companies save a whole lot of money and the logic with cloud gaming is that they can do the same thing with games.
You pay a fraction of the price of a monster rig and you get to use one.

>quicktime events
Sorry, have to fix this one a bit.

Slowtime events*

Because even quicktime events will have to be slowed to the lag.

Attached: e271276d.jpg (900x900, 79K)

it's for your protection

>quicktime events with lag

the guys hand isn't even inputting anything.

Australia.
Funny enough, we're generally ahead when it comes to mobile internet and will be one of the first countries to roll out 5G internet.

>4k 144hz card
Gonna be one epic card game with 4k 144hz cards

How the hell is that allowed? Did the contract they sign for that money not have any stipulations?

Game becomes like a shitty old FMV game where you just press any button to advance the story.

Can you imagine the shill threads of this console, google might pay well to shill this console here.

>Google makes its own Ouya

>tfw whatever gen comes after zoomers will be thoroughly braindead and brought up on streaming without knowing any better

More like Onlive 2

>spoiler

Not at all. Only games they mentioned are AssCreed Odyssey and Doom Eternal. No news about the games until summer.

Besides the games, they also didn't mention the price, nor the speed required for this thing to not shit itself.

Pretty much everything that actually needs any amount of reaction time isn't going to be playable on this shit service.

You're right, it's too big to fail because even if they shell out billions on something that goes belly side up they aren't substantially affected.

As long as the Internet in America continues to be overpriced and shitty, always online streaming shit will never take off outside of your shitty liberal cities. Things like 5G will also be limited in such areas unless they plan on building fucking towers every sq mile.

>the speed required for this thing to not shit itself
If you can watch 1080p videos on jewtube you can stream this shit at 1080p. The only real problem will be if your connection isn't stable because unlike a video, you can't buffer a stream without massive input delay

>Press button for win
>*pushes button*
>Yay! You win!

There isn't even a box. When they showed the games working on a TV it was a smart TV that could connect to the internet, and the controller used wifi. It's literally just going to be a streaming service.

We should hope consoles go full digital actually. Then they'd be on our side fighting the internet companies. Gamers united.

>5G gets only deployed in big cities
>causes cancer
>the world gets rid of all these human trash living in big cities

There's no way this will work with anything below a 1gb fiber connection. Even then it'll probably shit itself with input lag and YouTube resolution.

Stadia servers will run Linux and Vulkan

This means if a game developer wants their game to work, they have to port it to Linux and Vulkan.

Obviously game streaming is horrible, with botnet, severe input lag, and if you say nigger then Google takes away your entire game library.

But honestly this is great news for Linux gamers. Developers will still release the games on Steam, and now they will either release native Linux versions, or the Windows versions of the games will almost certainly work through Wine (Proton).

GOOGLE STOP KILLING VIDEO GAMES

Attached: aqcKKuA.jpg (600x315, 12K)

for you

I need to know what kind of soundtrack to play to this webm

That isn't true at all, YouTube can use compress techniques that can't be used for a 100% live gameplay stream (due to added latency) and is able to buffer ahead.
Not only that, 1080p on YouTube is disgustingly compressed. Compare 1080p on YouTube and 1080p on Netflix and it's a world of a difference,
Set this to 1080p and tell me it looks good;
youtu.be/STg-lGNo5sk?t=632

game streaming but this time it's different

>Google takes away your entire game library.
They might take some of them away anyway due to some copyright issue or because "nobody played it."

Tachyons? Again?

Typical streams and videos use buffering, retard.

It'll be custom linux made by google. Doesn't mean it'll work on any linux distro

Imagine if they make it EVEN cheaper to publish than the epic store and games are exclusive to the service

if it's free we'll see a revolution in the gaming industry
if it's subscription based then who gives a fuck

why did you post a picture of mold?

>But honestly this is great news for Linux gamers
Just like Android and consoles were great news for Linux gamers, right?

Obama just gave them a check and said do the thing to make the internet good. Never gave any stipulations.

how the fuck is google going to make money on this if it's free?

>allowed
Idiot, it was intentionally done so they were allowed to do that. Government corruption, plain and simple.

This is the same company that backed Juicero.

I mean what did you expect from a boomer?

Ads, ads and more ads.
That has been pretty much their only revenue source since they existed, it's actually very impressive how incompetent they are at diversifying.

The only way I would use this is if it was free. Then I won't care if there's a half a second input delay and the video feed looks like shit

>166ms was the lowest input delay DF could get
Holy mother of yikes, and this is in the most ideal situation.
It reality you'd be seeing 250-300 ping, imagine playing ANY game that isn't set to easy mode with that delay.

google streams more data over youtube than this will ever handle and it's free
they just have to plaster ads on it

its not gonna be free you absolute fucking retards

The mold may have absorbed him but the burning passion of former Scott has overridden mold programming and is as such indistinguishable from the original. Even the mold will fight to stop killing video games.

I call bs.

Streaming data is cheap as fuck, running dedicated hardware with GPU(s) for each user isn't and ads don't make nearly enough money for that.

youtube.com/watch?v=Z4OhbzSFpnk

I expected as much. This shit is going to be for poor kids that can't buy real PCs.

Attached: gettyimages470063558.jpg (2400x1800, 370K)

Why can't these people come up with a decent controller concept?

Attached: 1545577258584.gif (414x382, 3.07M)

>all these posts talking about if it's free
meanwhile there's already a similar thing out that that's free that I've been using (it's a bit jank as it relies on users to host instead of dedicated servers...although some people have put in the effort to get a dedicated machine hosting anyway), and that hasn't taken off because in reality it's too impractical to do this for most people - bandwidth, along with shitty ISPs (especially in the US) are prohibiting this concept from taking off.

You fool. They will start making games that FIT the delay rather than retrofit old ones to compensate.
All we will ever have in the future is delay and anticipation adapted video games.

>game that isn't set to easy mode with that delay.
They are just going to make all new games easy by default. It's a new level of dumbing down. If you thought current game consoles dumbed shit down you haven't seen anything yet.

DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS !!!!

I don't think you understand how valuable it is to shove ads in a stream that can't be blocked, Google already makes billions and billions with shitty ads around the screen that anyone with half a brain ignores or straight up blocks.

Are you trying to tell me that people are just going to give up on FPS games? Action games? Rhythm games? That's the market they're approaching, the dedicated gaming market. They could release casual shit but no one but people on their phones will play them and in that case, they'd be simple indie titles that could run on a phone regardless.

and the games themselves cost money to make
and they expect more than a return on their investment and time
game companies, publishers and devs want to make a lot of money
like they already do
you have to be a complete idiot to think the service is gonna be free

>ads will attack you everytime you go into menu or pause
>cutscenes now play ads
>gamedevs put product placements in-game

Steam Link is already a thing that works and they recently expanded to TVs and phones over the internet with their Anywhere thing in beta and you can easily do it yourself if you want to avoid Steam for whatever reason.
It's the benefits of streaming with none of the jewgle drawbacks, for free.

It's already out in the US in a few cities though.

listen, you're an idiot
shut up

Poorfags can already buy shit like the Switch and PS4, both can easily be found under $300.

This would be $20 a month on top of game purchases. Can you imagine paying monthly to own your gaming platform?

Those start/select and play/share buttons are placed in the most awkward position. I hate the PS4 controller for doing that. I also hate that stupid gimmicky touchscreen. Almost no game uses it. They just use it as an extra button. Finally, almost @ shitty steam controller touch pad.

Wtf is this shit?

They'll cram ads between loading screens.

I wasn't thinking about steam link or steam home streaming actually, but I guess that also applies. I was actually thinking of Parsec

FPS games will become.... FAS games. Fetal alcohold syndrome. In other words they'll play like mobile FPS games.

ok how long until some madman shares a 'stream' ala netflix account sharing. the piracy potential is huge. what are they gonna do, limit one account to one IP? only one active stream an IP? that doesnt work with film and wont work here.

>1 hour and at the end you can see the game theory autist
I'm not watching that

I don't think you understand how little ads are worth, they're around $0.002 per view, let's double that since Google keeps their cut. Let's be outrageous and say they'll show you an ad every 5 minutes and you play for 5 hours, they'll make a whopping 24c from a user for /5 hours/.
That's not viable, at all. Even if you triple my numbers it is not viable.

>Can you imagine paying monthly to own your gaming platform?

Attached: 119.jpg (600x467, 39K)

That would mean they would deliberately slow down loading times for ad space.

What makes streaming ads or ads in general not valuable when that's already Google and Twitch's revenue sources for example?
Them cramming it with ads is a given even if they don't make it free, all their services are like that.

They can drive the costs down a lot because you're not always using the virtual machine.
Imagine they put it up for 5$ a month.
Or if a bunch of people shared an account.

Watch the fucking stream before spreading your retardation all over the place

Google definitely has the hardware to eliminate loading times, so if there's loading times they are literally just ads.

Just limit it to one game per account

How much times does someone have to explain it to you? Streaming data is insanely cheap, so cheap that YouTube doesn't lose money despite thousands of hours of completely unmonetized content being uploaded hourly. To add to this, YouTube was losing money for years despite streaming being so cheap.
Running a mid/high spec PC is not cheap, not only are you paying for data streaming but you're paying for the electricity to run the machines and at that point it's already impossible for it to be free.
Now factor in development costs for games and you're literally out of your mind if you think it will be free.

Ah yes, something finally worth bearing the title of söy shit. For all the shitposting done about the Switch, even that seems like a far better product that this piece of shit, straight from the abortion that is Commiefornia. No thanks, keep your OnLive 2 to yourselves Söygle.

Now multiply that 24c by a few hundred million

Each Stadia server instance is just a mid-tier PC in specs, they'll probably put SSDs in them but it won't be anything groundbreaking.

>ill fitting pleather jacket
>ugly as sin mismatching shirt
>shitty corporate kakhis
>awful nose job
what the fuck is this woman's problem, she's like a wine aunt that wants to look hip and young.

Are you retarded? If I operate something at a loss, having more customers will make lose more money.

How does anything you said contradict what I said?

All consoleshits will jump into the streaming bandwagon as soon as it's commercially viable, and you will defend it too like you defended Nintendo doing paid online.

Attached: nintedo.png (640x1212, 50K)

>Monthly service fee
>Games cost full price to access

>streaming a game
>someone in your family opens up a youtube video
>your game stream shits out

>Expecting Google employees with 1GBPS connections to consider that
lol

Nintendo already said their future is in software. Imagine the basedmouths going crazy over streamed Zelda and Mario.

For just a second, imply this will work as they say it will, no lag, 4k 60fps and all that.
What would be the actual negatives if it works as perfectly as they claim?
>no cheating
if we think how many developers sometimes don't bother to fix some stuff in their games while the community does, this is already a huge negative for me.
>no modding
i dont think this needs an explanation as for why its a negative

>playing online

>p-please stop making fun of shit, look at the diarrhea instead!
Google is the king of shit mountain but that doesn't make consoles any less shit.

>excusing horrible anti-consumer practices

nah, paid online is shit
It's just while you play online your backlog is growing

When no one is using your console yeah sounds about right

Didn't take that long for the consolefag to show up defending his garbage.

>defending
where did I do that? Paid online is shit, PS+ especially can fuck off.
I just said that playing online is waste of time more often than not.
But you can keep your retarded system war going, idorts don't fucking care.

Attached: file.png (815x199, 83K)

We all are. Everyone on the planet.

If this works consoles will go the way blockbuster did.

Perhaps several idiots did defend them like the faggots they are but I actually hated them for going all jew with paid online. Unfortunately the company has the upper hand, so if you want to play shit like Smash online you'll have to pay. If only people weren't such literal abortions in 2002 when Xbox Live came.out and rejected it... I don't give a shit if it's good because "free games" and junk. Basic online functionality like multiplayer should be something straight out from the fucking box. It's not 1998 anymore, but people give in. Consumers are faggots, user.

I missed the stream. what was revealed?

>Unfortunately the company has the upper hand
No since you have the option of not giving them money like a tard but just do it anyway to play your bing bings.

Oh no no no no my 5gb pack won’t be able to handle this

This kills the Switch. Rip Nintendo's hardware division.

Pretty much this. Expect the absolute worse.
>$60 games at launch
>no used games so they'll stay at $60 forever kinda like GTA5 on PC.
>$50 season pass
>monthly subscription
>some kind of gold deluxe monthly subscription to skip the ads
>no modding
>no cheating of course, you gotta buy their time saver XP boost kits
>disconnecting here and there
>input lag

Fuck this shit.

what's with 2019 and yetis/big foot anyway? there's like 3 movies already, and now this

Actually this kills videogames as we know it. Once it grows big every game will be shaped to be unresponsive and shit in a way it’s not severely affected by streaming so that it can be released in this platform as well.

Attached: C850B98E-9A28-4DA6-8ABA-87A9EFF6C50D.jpg (650x487, 36K)

>stay at $60 forever kinda like GTA5 on PC.
whut? I saw gtav for about $10 recently on either gog or humble store

i.e just like consoles act like a “bottleneck” for multiplatform PC releases, this is going to bottleneck literally everyone to a much worse degree as games will be designed with releasing for this garbage in mind.

Well I guess Yea Forums should be deleted around 2021-22 then.
This depends on how aggressive Google will be with publishers.

>I-It just needs a couple more years with more mature infrastructure

GTA5 was $60 on Steam for a long time until recently. I wanna say within the last year or two. A GAME FROM 2013. It'll be full price at least for 3-4 years. Meanwhile you can pick up used PS4 games for half off within 2 months of release.

They didn't say this.

>paying $11 for lunch
Eat less you fat fuck.

Because I have no other choice if I want to, faggot. Blame Sony for making it a standard. Bing bings are better than whatever leftist garbage Söygle shits out from their autistically screeching heads.
