His main point was that games are basically all inherently political just because of their subjects. I think the point is gamers don't like Politically Correct "enhancements"/censorship devs seem to keep adding these days, eg. like how Battlefield V has cyborg women in a "realistic" WW2 sim.

More or less all game discussion on Yea Forums can be thought of as people raging against the things that made Nintendo barely relevant, and this can include vague abstractions such as Story and Online multiplayer in general, in addition to specific franchises and people like Sonic/Gran Turismo and Kojima/Gabe Newell.
If Nintendo's tradition-obsessed development process couldn't conceive of it and it succeeded, Yea Forums dislikes it defacto.
