Yes, but it can't grow in hell completely. It needs human blood. It grows from the surface of hell, to it's underground, with the roots growing up and into the human world where it will suck blood until the fruit matures.

With Sparda sealing the human and demon realm 2k years ago, one hasn't grown since. But Vergil and Arkham in 3 ruined that, undoing the seal on the barrier between the worlds. It would have grown regardless, but it's growth would have been slow, it usually takes 1k years to fully grow, with small portals opening for the roots to suck some people every so often. Urizen however, opened a FUCK HUGE portal that a big portion of the roots could move through, causing it to grow in only a month.

my only gripe with V is that shadow always spawns slightly out of range of the enemy or just besides you meaning you miss the first attack

So people talking about story last thread. I was thinking they should just make human mode (ie journalist mode) into a more story driven mode. I guess like a sony game if you will. You don't have to do it on the first try. You can start mission 1, get the first arms and gain access to upgrade menu, then exit out and mission menu back to prologue.

I think this is interesting. For anyone having trouble with mission 10 S rank, style points seem to be a combination of time spent at a rank and killing at high ranks. GS makes it really easy to use E&I to stay at high ranks for long periods without killing too quickly. Basically, learn to start playing with your food, rather then ending fights quickly.

A combination of this and some melee got me 6100 style points for this first encounter. I could probably have gone even higher.

DMD is not fun. I just completed Mission 7, and the only Mission I've died on so far was 3, so it's not that it's too HARD, but the enemies just have WAAAAY too much health. It's out of control.

not counting dmc3, where he arguably repented by being raped for decades got given aids, and was mind broken he didn't really want to kill anybody in dmcv.

In fact he was so stricken with mundAIDS that he couldn't properly function before seperating. Once he exited his demon form and realized what he'd done he immediately ran to Dante to stop his mess. He was willing to die to do it and doesn't stop Nero from killing him if he wins mission 0. He only changes his mind in mission 17 but by then he's abandoned all malice for his brother.

I'm not saying he's a saint, but he's repented a bit, he's got a bit more work to do though.

I know its terrible especially when he DTs and never falls down so its like 1 hit plus buster for 10 minutes.

It gets harder though 11/12 are genuinely fucking rough. But after that chapter wise since its pretty much just boss chapters besides 15/16 which aren't rough at all enemy variety wise just Cerberus its pretty doable.

I wish load times for retrying a mission weren't so trash. Its not too long but its like 2 loading bars and i don't understand why i haven't to go back to the mission screen/customize screen when i hit retry and not just start off right at the first area.

I think some bosses warrant big life on DMD but not the fucking DT life at the same time. The last 1/7th of Cav's life bar takes as much as atleast half and he has alot of life in general why increase it for random factors sake?

Dante will never be stronger than Sparda. When he starts swinging a 100 foot sword that does 20 times the damage of Rebellion, then he'll be at Sparda's strength.

4's was about killing and hitting things, right? You got a base amount of points no matter what it was and how much was tied to rank, right?

Really though it doesn't much matter for every other mission. They have more then enough encounters that you typical will be at large style for long periods because they just last that long naturally and the biggest targets typically come last, so you'll get massive style as long as you aren't getting hit.

The issue is that Mission 10 doesn't have a lot of these big enemies and the encounters don't last long. The 4th fight goes from two death scissors in DH, to one Fury is SoS. While the Fury gives a shit ton of style points for killing it, getting to a high rank is almost impossible, so you'll almost always lose points on the average, unless you use Royal Guard perfectly to mess around with it to get to SSS and the rest of the encounters aren't much better either. Mission 10 just requires large work arounds to get to S, while everything else can be played normally and you'll still hit big style points as long as you aren't being stupid. Mission 11 I got over 8000 and cleared it first attempt, while 10 took over 5 clears and even more restarts. It's probably the worse designed level for Dante.

Its really amazing how I found Black Cav/Malphas so fucking underwhelming and bland until DMD. I mean Cav looked cool but on both DH/SoS I just sorta jumped up clashed with him 2-3 times to stun him and went to town well avoiding the overhead he rarely seemed to do.

They really should've given them a few of those patterns on SoS it felt like the same game give or take alittle damage from DH in their cases. Where as they feel like totally new bosses especially Black Cav on DMD.

No, the damage Break Age buster arm does is based on the enemy. It does 9k damage to a Fury. They basically made sure the damage of Buster arm would always one shot a basic enemy.

Nero is my favourite to play as, I really like how streamlined he is in that you have access to his entire moveset at all times and it's all about incorporating as much of it as possible in a given fight

it feels chaotic with Dante because you can switch at any given time which changes up your entire moveset, I get that to most people that's a good thing but I find it difficult to wrap my head around the endless possibilities

I think it would be is honest of me to say Vergil's too easy in 5 because I still haven't beaten him on DMD with Nero, but I do wish he were more aggressive. When he deflects one of your attacks he just retreats or he attacks fairly slowly, I haven't played 3 in a while, so I don't remember quite how it was there, but I feel like he was more punishing. A lot of the time I'd just see him standing doing nothing too, which would be fine if it were just both of us in neutral, but he would have me with his summon swords in some way and rather than taking advantage of that he'd just sit there while I get rid of them and then start fighting again once I was done. I still think it's a good fight, but he feels too passive even on DMD.

It seems Devil Triggering once with a Devil arm can permanently give you a powerboost.

As shown how Nero's DT still has echoes of his Yamato DT, and how Dante after triggering with Sparda was able to grow past him.

Caliber is your friend for catching the rapidslash follow up and if you can tablehop you can tablehop like a fucking madman.
Learning how to catch flying planes also helps.
and the Buster Arm will absolutely destroy his healthbar.
Secret strat, use showdown and spam knuckle whenever you get a stagger on him, if you're playing clean enough you should have enough DT to get the DT buster as well.
He's still considerably easier to stagger than in Dante's fight as well.

I'm not gonna pretend to know game design. New weapons would certainly an "easy" way to add variety but it would also detract from his very focused design. So no I don't really know what they should do or if they should even do anything at all.
It's not like I'm forced to endlessly play Nero and he's still great for beginners and has enough going for him to be at least fun for some time.
