Not in a row, you can't revive more than once. You can have more than one revive charge, but those are disabled upon revival until you deathblow a bunch of enemies or rest at an idol.

Not how it works. You basically have a charge that fills the more enemies you kill, and when it's full you get an on-site revival. These do not stack, you can have 1. When you use that, your charge empties and you would need to kill a lot of enemies (or a few very strong enemies) again to regain the charge. The point you're missing, is that enemies are far harder in this game than in Souls games.

I know it's bait, but it's been a game design trick in a lot of Fromsoft games where the player character is smaller than NPCs and enemies because it helps you see everything better. You guys not play Demon's Souls? In DeS you're "supposed to" lose to the tutorial boss, which spawns you in the hub world of the game. But if you do beat it, you get lots of valuable loot as a reward, and then a dragon punches you to death and you spawn in the hub world.
So, you can most likely beat the Sword Saint in the prologue, then cutscene where he cuts off your arm happens anyway, but you get lots of loot from beating him, and nothing if you lose.
