Mediocre game with garbage combat.
I think it is a great game, but i do agree with the garbage combat part. My tip is to play on hard. It becomes a little better then.
Depends, if you are filthy secondary that doesn't follow the series since 90': it's well made but the combat is very streamlined, if you want it to be challenging pick higher dificulity or mid it (enhanced edition mod)
If you did read the books and know polish language: you're here for a trip boy
Also English VA sucks and doesn't fit Geralt
>If you did read the books and know polish language: you're here for a trip boy
I honestly don't understand why TW3 is praised so hard by people who know nothing about the series. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, but like 90% of the emotional impact comes from it being one big Witcherverse reunion.
Don’t listen to the shitheads here bashing the game.
Take it as you see it, it’s amazing. I
+A great protagonist
+Great sidequests
+Great characters and dialouge
+pretty good lore
+Two fantastic expansions
-Mediocre combat, only remotely engaging on the hardest difficulty and even then once you lvel up a bit and invest in skill trees it becomes easy as piss.
-Mediocre main story
Moronic monkeys who think only Soul games have good combat. The combat is quick and easy, since you're THE witcher and all.
im kinda glad you guys are saying the combat is easy, im mostly interested in this story i keep hearing about, i also took some time to get caught up on the story though i didnt actually read the books
Overhyped game with abysmal combat
drowners.
if you ever get in trouble just roll autistically while spamming quen
be honest with us, did you play the other game and read the books?
>Combat is shit because you're an OP character
Well DMC5 say hello
korean MMORPG in form of single player game
No because gameplay is the most important part, everything else is secondary
soulsdrone cope is getting really abstract
The games don't matter, it's the books that are important for context
SPEC INTO ALCHEMY IT PAYS OFF I SWEAR
fun story entertaining side quests lots of exploration
Boring combat if you make it boring, which you probably will because the game does not push you to innovate. The options are there, though.
thank you for being honest. you still fucking disgust me.
watch this if you care at all about the lore and story.
2 is important for Radovid and more background on the Nilfgaardian war
But yes, 1 is basically irrelavent in the larger plot - CDPR never expected to make a trilogy so it was basically a knockoff/paraphrasing of the books (Alvin was supposed to be Ciri, etc.)
This is the most accurate post on Yea Forums regarding the game
Look into mods, they can help improve a number of things that are lacking.
I don't care because I don't think its relevant. I understand the premises, I don't need a wall of text to explain to me about a character background story.
you be missing out than. gameplay alone dosent carry the game since gameplay is midcore at best.
it's true though, most of the time it's:
>go speak with the NPC
>gather stuff, or kill something
>report your quest
The first and last 10hrs of the game's story is fantastic. The middle 60hrs is fucking boring as shit. It becomes exhausting chasing a character for hours to get info on Ciri only to be told you need to go spend hours finding a different character who might actually know something.
A game you can drop a few solid mods in to make it better. I myself was fond of that Ghost mod where you could tweak enemy difficulty around to your liking. Then you can toss in some HD texture/beautification mods, maybe some QoL mods you want and run your script merger to make sure it's all playing nicely together and there you go.
>Witcher 3 is fanservice for the book fans
You're a legit retard if you think that
Great characters, and quite frankly the best designed world in terms of geometry we have in the medium so far.
Places look as realistically as it gets at times. Its just beautifully designed.
Also expect going hunting for armor sets, and do because its worth it.
Yea Forums likes to meme about the map and the icons, but not only could you turn them off and the descriptions would still tell you where to go, but desu its pretty much a non issue. Because an icon on the map only tells you that there's something there., but not what you encounter on the way or what actually lies there in waiting for you. And together with the realistic world its a god send because sometimes stuff is literally behind a bush you wouldn't even think about looking at, just like the way you woudn't in a real forest.
And there's literally shit everywhere. You're not gonna encounter a map as packed as this.
Also, play Gwent, lots of it.
In some ways its the top of the medium and rightfully achieved over 200 goty awards from critics.
>The middle 60hrs is fucking boring as shit.
Wasn't for me. Once you stop giving a shit about Ciri and pursue the sidequests or other stories(like Skellige heir stuff) it turns around.
If I had played the game for the main story I'd probably think the same way as you, but from the get go it was clear to me that I just wanna do witcher shit, and those side stories like the first two short story books.
You are legit blind if you don't
I enjoyed the prologue and Velen, but fucking Novigrad felt like a massive step down and took ages longer. I stopped after making it to Skellige and simply can't find it in my to continue.
I'm aware the game picks up considerably after 50 hours of "Where's Ciri?", but I don't know if I can return to the boring combat, long walks to easily dispatched enemies and being asked by everyone to go beat up a level 5 ice dog harassing beekepers.
this
All the games have fanservice for the books, but through framing and dialogue, most of the relationships between characters are developed just fine without having any idea about the books. You can see that these characters have history and the nature of that history, you just don't know the details of that history and frankly, it usually doesn't matter.
You just get more references if you've read the book, which is kino, but not needed for the enjoyment of the well-made game.
I'm too stupid to play this game well, so i'm pretty engaged with the combat on normal.
This makes me feel good, but also foolish.
skip hearts of stone and play blood and wine instead.
Hearts of stone starts off interesting but the middle bit with the party is a chore and pretty boring
EXPECT ME, OP
I AM COMING FOR YOU
play with deathmarch difficulty. It makes the game 100 times more enjoyable. But remember to pick that regen talent first.
gotta be
add the soulcrushing amount of details put into... well, everything
the best game of all time
alright i got my nude mods installed lets get this thing started
Also:
+great fucking ost
+a good variety of monster
-some side quests( mostly witcher contracts) can be somewhat repetitive. Thankfully there is a some sort of a small twist in them that makes them worth the time.
The witcher 3 is my fav kind of "blender" game. It mixes lots of aspects of other videogames realy well. Also the best build is the Alchemical Warrior. Fits to the game's lore but it can get too OP after a point
Big ass thiddies and Gert of marinara
Also play on hard or war path or don't even play at all
