If you don't like streams, don't watch them. I'll give a bit of insight into it through experiences of my own.
I'm far from a massive streamer or anything like that. I got really lucky when epic shafted paragon players. I got the scoop on the battle royale early on, and they gave me dozens of copies of the game to give away (back before the battle royale mode was out), so I was there early, streaming it day in day out with a viewerbase I'd grown from paragon (which was also still around at that point but very obviously dying).

So, 150 viewers turns into 250 as the game comes out and people show interest. It turns into 350 around battle royale release, to 500 around christmas 2017.

Fast forward to this year, I'm averaging 1,300 viewers at peak on my streams. But the kicker is, fridays I host a low-commentary gameplay stream where I tryhard. Record low donations, viewership bubbles around 1000 when I start then dips to 700~ and never recovers.

But the rest of the week, when i'm joking around and laughing and spending just as much time thanking the people who donate/sub/cheer, I get more of those things coming in more rapidly, because people think it's the best way to interact. It is, but that's beside the point. People would rather throw their money at the streamer to be recognized than have to chance spamming a message in the chat and getting banned for it.
Twitch has allowed you to treat your viewers like cattle and condition them into being afraid they'll be ignored if they don't pay you money. It works, too. Massive streamers like ninja and shroud? They don't even notice donations unless they're sizable (considering what they are anyway. $10 may not seem like much but when you put it in the context of someone trying to get another person to pay attention to a sentence, it's horrifying).

Though, I'll repeat. If you don't like streams, don't watch them. Complaining does nothing but give the streamers more bait about how they're "harassed".

The Donation shit makes nearly every stream unwatchable. I can handle having the pop-up, but also having the guy say "WHOO HOO THANKS XXXXBIGDONGUSXXY FOR THE TEN BUCKS" every five seconds makes me eye the noose longingly.

Not as good as pressing Ctrl+V after using Bitwarden to automatically paste the code in. Instead, I have to download an otherwise useless app, unlock my phone, unlock my authy app, look at the code, and manually type it in. Alternatively, I can tell it to text my phone, at which point I get to wait for a text.

I hate when a youtuber starts to stream. He goes "I think I'll try streaming" and then it gets worse and all he does is stream. Then, instead of making a normal video, planning it out, recording multiple times to get a good clip, editing it, cutting out the boring or pointless parts... he just posts recordings of his streams. Instead of short edited videos I get 3-4 hour long videos.

The video becomes partly about the chat, because the streamer has to interact with the chat, so now it's not as focused on the game so much. Don't catch it live, and you miss out on "the experience" -- even if that experience is shitty. Interacting with everyone is part of that experience. Don't watch it live, and you miss out on a small part of that.

A normal video, you can watch it any time, even years later, and it still has the same value. Watch a recording of a stream months later? Seems out of place because you haven't kept up with why Streamer and Viewer#9394879 went from liking each other to hating each other and other inane drama. You can't just ignore it, because the chat and the streamer will talk about it. So instead of 80% game 20% uploader's personality, it's more like 50% game, 25% uploader, 25% chat.

tl;dr longer videos, more dull moments, lots of filler, content you don't care about and isn't relative to you if you didn't catch it live (chat interactions), a possible sense of obligation to make sure you watch it live. And I hate it
