You'd think that if something was very successful, logic would dictate that the success merits a bigger budget for the sequel, right? You have an established audience, so there's a lot less risk involved. So you make it better and attract an even bigger audience. Well the Japanese logic is "we have an audience already, so we don't have to worry about quality, they're going to watch this shit anyway". And they're right. So they cut corners, and they get away with it every time. Just look at Dragon Ball Super and its diarrhetic animation quality.

Because OPM attracted amazing freelance animators and coupled with a good director they made it so good.
ONE has been on an amazing lucky streak of attracting great talent to his works but it seems this will be the first speed bump.

Because Madhouse obtained outsourced animators for OPM. The same people working on Mob Psycho 100, and who had previously worked on Space Dandy. Not all of them are the same, but those three titles share a lot of animators.

OPM is dead. It was only going thanks to the webcomic. One gave up on that, and manga is just a long filler.

lets say that one second of animation is 24 frames per second.
1's would be drawing all 24 frames so 24 drawings per second
2's would be putting the same drawing for 2 frames meaning 12 drawings per second instead of 24.
3's would be 8 drawings per second.

It feels a lot better with the rest how frantic it is.

He's dumb and doesn't actually know what he's talking about. Basically, animation runs at 24 frames per second, and the usual method is to show a given frame of animation twice, essentially turning it into 12 FPS. What he claims is that Western animation is done in that method, while anime is done by showing every frame three times, or 8 FPS.

What he doesn't understand is, aside from just being wrong, it's a flawed premise. No animation is JUST one of these options. For high speed, detailed action you often use 24FPS, for most actions you use 12FPS, and for background elements you use 8FPS. Doesn't matter where in the world you are, and the only factors that may make one form more common than normal is the complexity of the images and budget.

It's the opposite. OPM was a small thing ONE created to shitpost online while Mob was his actual serialized manga. In the end OPM easily overtook Mob Psycho and became one of the biggest modern manga franchises, so ONE cancelled Mob to focus all of his attention on OPM.
