Why didn't Solid figure out Miller was actually Liquid when he mysteriously couldn't call him during the Hind D fight

Why didn't Solid figure out Miller was actually Liquid when he mysteriously couldn't call him during the Hind D fight
Oh right, because he's autistic also Metal Gear Thread

>supposed to be the "superior one"
>completely obsessed with genetics since birth
>doesn't know high school level of genetic knowledge

he was a child soldier, why would he have high school education

You're thinking of Raiden, the Snakes were raised by the Patriots but entered the military around a typical age, I'm guessing 18ish

liquid was in africa as a kid in MGSV

>tfw didn't realise at all who he was until the reveal
>Didn't realise the PAN card was a ruse to activate metal gear
>Didn't realise Naomi was a traitor until slightly AFTER its fucking outright stated.

And yet I realised I was playing Revan about two seconds after Carth goes "hey I heard jedi can wipe your fucking memory and make you forget who you are, person who just had a dream about revan for no other reason"

Weird how some shit goes right over and some others don't.

Damn OP I never caught that detail.

Fuck I'm a brainlet.

Holy shit, I forgot, that was super-cringey. Also contributed to the worst "ending" to a videogame ever

Tells you how memorable the story to 5 was.

I can tell, you use a tripcode, after all

There are times you can't call hot Russian weapons lady for no reason either.

Actually there's a fucking minibook that then subsequently gives a reason, fucking Kojima

IIRC Codex is audio only. Please, correct me ifnI'm wrong.

>tfw Nastacha and her sexy Russian accent never show up or are mentioned again after 1
>every character even fucking Johnny but her gets at least a cameo if not a bizarre role in 4

Wait, I thought the whole thing hinged on Liquid knowing about the PAL cards? Isn't that why Ocelot killed DARPA Chief and why Miller tells you how to activate them?

user that's what I mean, though you're a bit off.
>Can't activate metal gear nukes without Kenneth Baker and DARPA CHIEF (Dolan Andelson AKA SIGGYNINT) codes
>They get Baker's code
>Ocelot """"fucks up"""" getting Donald's code
>Have to fake the whole PAN card "turning off" metal gear using octopus "master miller" and one snakey boi.
There's a whole headache more to it than that, compounded by the next four games and mostly by Ocelot alone, but that's the gist.
I'm saying I didn't get any of it was faked, I didn't realise Liquid was fake, I didn't see the PAN card ruse, I saw shit. Apparently lots of people either got suspicious at the PAN card or clicked really early it was Liquid/Master miller. But a lot of people were surprise by the Revan reveal, where I spoiled it for myself literally about 30 minutes into the game.

Sometimes we're surprisingly intuitive. Sometimes we're dumb as fucking rocks.

BioWare has always had shit-tier, on-the-nose writing, especially comparing KOTOR 1 to KOTOR 2

>PAN
It's a PAL card, Permissive Action Link. A reference to the actual security device used for nuclear weapons.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permissive_Action_Link

She does get that 20-page book in some editions of MGS2 that explains she

>Used to fuck Ames from MGS2, AKA mr heartfailure fakeout man for S3.
>Was apparently at gunpoint for most of MGS1 by the Patriots and barely escapes with her life thanks to Ames.

That's fucking it though, what a shame.

>fighting some asshole in a Hind D
>better call the Alaskan wilderness expert

Maybe he didn't notice because he had literally no reason to call

A lot of internet searches are turning it up as a PAN key user, ,might be a localisation thing, might be you fucking up. Might be that both terms were used.

PAL was the actual blowing up key, PAN cards were what Otacon calls the door keys of varying levels.

Don't know where you're getting PAN from, but...

metalgear.fandom.com/wiki/Permissive_Action_Link

When I search for PAN, it gives me Personal Area Network card, which is just the card key you use to unlock doors.

To be fair, the game was finished before the human genome project was finished.

IN THE MIDDLE EAST WE DON'T HUNT FOXES. WE HUNT JACKALS.

Even at the time they knew more than enough to be able to say making clones double dominant or double recessive was incredibly stupid

Literally unfinished game. We will probably never know what the while story was. I remember the clips of liquid stealing metal gear.

The whole game was telling you to use your codec whenever you were in trouble/needed advice. Also, Miller was an experienced soldier, it's entirely plausible that he could have known about some kind of weak point on a Russian gunship.

He was fighting a fucking Hind D at the time, he probably wasn't too concerned about his supports whereabouts.

that's fucking hilarious
Benji, I've been out of town, but I'm gonna email you tonight

JJaneus, brother

Because Kojima is a terrible writer.

Even a 1 percent chance is still a chance. Shove a stinger up his butt.

Man, hearing everyone on my squad essentially tell me I'm fucked in individual codec calls, it was fucking great having Nastasha take a swig of vodka and say fuck that shit, you got a stinger, nigga, have at the bastard

>you will never see Big Boss slowly morph from a hero looking for a home where people like him will always be needed to a nuclear-armed megalomaniac
>You will never see Ocelot triple-cross one more time
>you will never see morally-questionable use of child soldier in combat
>you will never see an open world that's anything other than a barren wasteland with respawning guards
>you will never return to Camp Omega
>you will never truly rid FOBs of nuclear weapons regardless of hilariously bugged hidden cutscenes
>you will never get MGS 6even though it was entirely unnecessary in the first place and should have ended after 3 at the latest

LIQUID

>If you have an ancient monoaural TV like I did or set your audio to mono, Campbell will outright fucking mock you during this fight and Mei-ling will laugh at your monospeaker

Attached: 1548598201431.gif (200x150, 298K)

yeah, should have ended after 3 and had Kojima work on a passion project with a shared universe where he didnt have to explain shit and just hint at connections

If Snake couldn't deduce why there was a faint chopper noise in the background when Miller first called in the game, then it's his own fault.

This game came out when I was 3 and I'm still finding shit out about it.

>Is that a helicopter in the background?
>No it's my stomach I'm hungry

Lul it's been over a month I figured my state didn't allow for whatever you had going on.

A CORNERED FOX IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN A JACKAL

What the fuck? Is this real?

Hungry for woooorrms?

>Snake: Hey, Colonel. It's strange...Decoy Octopus is listed among the members of Foxhound, but I've yet to face him, right? He could be anywhere. Could be anyone...ah hell with him. I guess I'll know him when I see him.
